3001  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Does bounty still kind of worth on 2020? on: July 23, 2020, 05:51:34 AM
We all know that we can get free bucks on these "bounties" since a long time ago. But today, is it still worth it hence there are so many cryptocurrencies like millions of them I i'm correct.
I wonder for you guys who always participate in bounties, I really want to know your portfolio's.

Pls no shitpost here for your signature campaign thing so people know your real opinion.
It hasn't been worth it for the last few years!
Free bucks? You are not getting them free. You are working for them to get those tokens or coins. You are earning them. It is not worth anymore not because of there being so many crypto currencies, because of the amount of scams and shit projects that pop up. All we have seen in this forum is that people are just complaining about the projects not paying or the token price being just few cents.
You would be earning more spending those time doing something more productive.
3002  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will Crypto crash the system? on: July 23, 2020, 04:49:33 AM
Crypto will never crash  the system and replace money, at least not in north america.Everything is enforced by laws, like a law that tax needs to be paid in cash, on all items, no matter what the person pays with.Sometimes it feels like people think if we all go crypto, money is somehow going to be free, and life is going to be so much easier, I don't think that's true.Imagine if you could only buy bread with crypto, and some billionaire buys a large amount of crypto the night before, the next morning your bread will cost twice as much.In other words its a rare resource, basing prices on crypto doesn't make sense. It can represent money all day long, and have value based on the dollar, but I don't think it can be money, unless governments just make digital cash for us, that doesn't jump too much.
What system are you exactly talking? The fiat, i mean the current monetary system? No one said anything about crashing the system. There are some people who believes that it will be replaced, but not anytime soon.
I hope you are aware that you need to pay taxes on your gains from holding crypto currencies, which means that government does track your holdings (assuming you are using US based exchanges to buy coins). True, you won't get free money using bitcoin, but things are actually going to be much easier.
And I think you are wrong over here where you say the cost of your goods is going to increase. When a billionaire does buy a lot of coins, you will have to be paying less coin for your goods, not more.
3003  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you believe in Ripple? on: July 22, 2020, 07:49:56 PM
The ripple protocol is supported by the banks. So the banks my integrate it to their system. They just make things easier for the banks and has a centralized crypto currencies that most people don't like due to it being controlled by ripple team themselves.
I mean anyone who believes in decentralization and freedom on their own finance won't probably like ripple. Image what would happen to the price if the developers dump all the XRP they are holding. Its like you are just blindly trusting them not to dump the coins.
3004  Economy / Economics / Re: Business / private sector is dead on: July 22, 2020, 07:46:56 PM
Business  / private sector is dead

As a freelancer in 2 months i got 4 clients only ... in my area 4 clients it's like your biz is dead... no matter how much you try to do marketing/advertising it just does not work ...
I look at other peoples businesses same situation ...

High Tech,Web Development,Web design ,Mobile Development ,Marketing,Blockchain development,Dapps,Web Hosting is dead from what i see

I got friends taxi drivers same situation they are just sitting in the taxi and some day zero clients ,barber shops the same they are sitting around all day smoking ... anything that seems a "luxury good" people don't touch this days.

The only thing people are buying is basic necessities ... oh also food and cigarette prices went up again ...

It's a f nightmare ...those that have billions of USD under the mattress better start investing soon ,or that money will be good only as toilet paper ...

Economy i love it ...
Not sure about the High tech, web development and other IT stuffs you are talking about is actually true. I mean, they are currently the most demanding jobs. Countries are importing people from other countries due to lack of workers on such fields. You will see Canada, Germany and other well developed country are in need of such people due to high demand for these skills but less skilled people.
You are probably looking at the wrong side.
3005  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bitcoins dominance coming to an end? on: July 22, 2020, 06:21:19 PM
A lot of speculations coming around this forum as well as in many other sites regarding the dominance if BTC is going to end, Are the alts going to take over???

Where as I went through few links where it states like big whales are targeting altcoins over BTC. Pretty cool 😎 but I still believe in this valuable asset because remember what happened in 2017 it rallied more than 1000%. So guys don't panic and take serious decisions have patience till it recovers BTC is still dominating and hopefully it will in upcoming. Link just for reference.

https://dailyhodl.com/2020/07/21/bitcoins-status-as-crypto-king-is-coming-to-an-end-predicts-blockchairs-nikita-zhavoronkov-heres-why/amp/
I don't think bitcoin dominance is going to come to an end anytime soon. I mean, if people starts to see the price of bitcoin falling or being low, they start to dump every coin they hold thinking that it is end of crypto currencies. This is because, when someone says crypto currencies, the first thing that comes to most peoples mind are Bitcoin. If they starts to hear bitcoin is losing is dominance, they will think that "crypto currencies" are losing their dominance.

Are you sure those are some random "whales" that are targeting and trading altcoins and are not those developers who are manipulating the stats?
3006  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Finally some justice, scammer sent to jail at South Korea. on: July 22, 2020, 04:54:12 PM
A man was sentenced to 2.5 years for his involvement in a 249 million scam, it seems the two main culprits have escaped overseas, basically the scammers offered the victims a percentage of their mining profits if they invested with them only to be discovered later that no mining took place.

Do you think his punishment is fair? Those people scammed so many people out of their savings in something they knew was fully illegal and yet the sentence is incredibly light, how many people have seen their future crumble just before their eyes or even killed themselves over this.

While it is nice that at least a scammer has to face the justice system at the same time I am disappointed by this short sentence. What do you think of this?

https://cointelegraph.com/news/crypto-scammer-sentenced-by-south-korean-authorities
Scammed almost 250 million and he got only 2.5 years of jail? Lmao!
He would happily serve the 2.5 years sentence. Maybe even get paroled after a year and then enjoy his life. I sure he had hid some of his money somewhere it cannot be traced.

Don't see why would someone kill themselves over this? The scammer got caught and I am kinda sure they will get back their money (unless they themselves were committing illegal act. They can say good bye to their coins).
3007  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How possible is it to make a living trading cryptocurrencies alone? on: July 22, 2020, 06:20:49 AM
Can someone make it trading only altcoins?

yes actually its possible but you need to learn how to read technical  analysis  before doing a trade I know a persons doing that and earn around  10-50% in daily trades h. But that's not always accurate that's why its important to have stop lost if you don't want to lose large amount in trading.

If you really interested learning it watch many tutorials or attend   seminar to have ideas and learn how to do it.
You are misleading him. I would never suggest anyone to live off by trading only. There are a lot of risks involved with trading. You don't receive a steady flow of money by trading. What do you think will happen when the user does not manage to make any profit for a month or is in loss after several trades? It is going to be really hard for him to pay his bills.
10% - 50% profit everyday by trading? Sounds like bullshit to me.
3008  Economy / Economics / Re: How do you estimate resilience of economy in your country? on: July 21, 2020, 07:09:22 PM
Every country has its own way of maintaining or strategy, so that our country's economy remains stable, after the corona pandemic is nested globally at this time.

There are several strategies that our government undertakes to safeguard "Economic Resilience".
The most important thing to do is: steps to maintain purchasing power & encourage high production, local.

My country's economic growth greatly influences 'consumption' by reducing the quarterly impetus, state expenditure, I think the country's economy says not as bad as other countries, still in control.
They have their way, but the worst part is they use situation like this for their own political advantage. They show they are taking steps to improve everything and that everything is "fine", but are they actually?
Like you are saying your country's economy isn't as bad as other countries, but are you sure about that? Or did you hear about this in some media (which is also controlled by the government).
3009  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Never invest in any cryptocurrencies! on: July 21, 2020, 05:06:25 PM
I think most people approach crypto in the wrong way. With "get rich quick" approach.

If you come to crypto with such an attitude, you should never ever invest.

On the other hand, if you actually had to earn it while doing whatever you are usually doing anyway, that involves money?

Examples:
You get crypto as a token of gratitude after making donation to some project. (crowdfunding)
or
You are paid crypto as a bonus to your salary.
or
... (any other examples come to your mind?)

Wouldn't the whole cryptoworld be way more healthy? What do you think about it?

So you are saying that people should "earn" in crypto currencies rather than invest on it?/ Kinda sounds like you are saying people shouldn't buy it and they should just collect it, which sounds totally wrong. You should buy crypto currencies and investing on it is really a good option.
What you shouldn't do is invest to make profit over night. You shouldn't invest in it before getting to know more about crypto currencies. You shouldn't invest before learning about the risks and how the market works!
3010  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Fill your bag with caution on: July 20, 2020, 07:01:19 PM
There have been so many posts on the forum suggesting that it is the right time to fill your bag, I quite agree but then, you need to fill your bag with caution. There are so many projects that are dead already but pretending to be alive using the bear season as an excuse for now. The team behind most of them are just looking for a way to dump on you trying to make you understand that they are working round the clock to develop the project, a project they have all the time to develop in the past but could not, now they want to develop, hmmm, what a way to full the people.

The bull run will surely expose all of them, trust me, some of them are smart enough to understand this and that is why they are trying every means to fool making unrealistic promises in order to dump on you.

My candid advice, before you invest in a project ask yourself;
1. What are the benefits of this project to the world and the future?
2. In the next 2 to 3 years, will the working product still be relevant?
3. Who is the targetted audience? Do the targetted audience really need this innovation?
People have been warned multiple times about not investing on random project. The ones that give out "mind blowing" ideas are actually the one that fail and are here just to scam the people. I mean they are all talk, and then those naive people fall for those "talks", and ends up investing in those projects without thinking twice. And, yeah, they start giving excuses about their work to earn more time to collect more money from people. Eventually they dump their tokens to make some extra and then scam their investors.
I wouldn't say assessing it through the ways you mentioned would actually work. I mean a team could propose a work with good use in the future, but if they are here to scam, then no one can stop them. They will give those ideas, take money form people and run away.
3011  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If bitcoin doesn't reach $500K in 3 years.... on: July 18, 2020, 03:36:52 PM

^ I'd forgotten about this self-imposed challenge  Grin

We know that he backtracked but I just want to remind everyone that even crypto personalities can't predict the market and they get it wrong most of the time. Do not fall for their "expert" opinions. Some of them are paid reviews/opinions anyway.
I thought he backed off from his claim few months ago and started to say something like  that bitcoin is the shit coin. Was comparing it with MSN email, once popular a popular email and now no one uses it and slowly changed to outlook. He says bitcoin is the MSN which will no longer be used by people and instead the future of the crypto currencies are the altcoin. He was probably launching his own altcoin (not sure about this).
3012  Economy / Economics / Re: Biggest winner during COVID? on: July 18, 2020, 03:03:36 PM
It is the pharmaceutical companies who are the biggest winners over here. Look at Moderna. As soon as they released a statement saying that phase 1 and phase 2 has been a success and that they are now entering phase 3 which is highly likely to be successful, look at their stock price skyrocketing! Just few vaccines were able to reach phase 3 and if those get successful, they will be make good amount of profit from those vaccines they will produce and sell!
3013  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Abra CEO and founder Bill Barhydt now sees Bitcoin as a store of value. on: July 18, 2020, 02:44:17 PM
Having initially been quite sceptical Bill Barhydt has now come out and proclaimed that he agrees on Bitcoin being a store of value by stating that "today Bitcoin is best used as a store of value that will become more and more uncorrelated to traditional investing markets over time".

As more people start to view Bitcoin as a store of value this could arguably gain popularity with the general public and, dare I say it, even boomers.
He isn't wrong though. Bitcoin is more suitable to be used as a store of value rather than a regular currency that can be used for day to day transaction. At least for now. How weird would it be to wait for a like an hour for your cup of coffee just because the transaction isn't being confirmed. Or how about paying more in transaction fee than your regular coffee? Unless something new comes up that will significantly reduce transaction time and fees without compromising the main protocol of bitcoin, then it is better used as a store of value.
3014  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to know if the project is fake? on: July 18, 2020, 02:19:34 PM
Fake project is really frustrating if you're one of the victim especially for investors and bounty hunters.
I had read an interesting way to make sure the project is real. You can identify the project is fake by it's address of the company who is running IEO/ICO. Fake project would be indentify with this way because they put fake location. You can check it with google maps to verify if it's real.

So how do you indentify if the project is fake?
They can always put in a real business location and you can even find it on google maps. The best way to find out if the registered address is real or not is through the company registration number. The registration number helps you to pull out (those are mainly official government sites) the real public details of the company including the address. I would be surprised if a address and number given turns out to be a pizza hut  franchise lol.
All I am trying to say "a real address" does not mean that the project itself is real.
3015  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Transaction unconfirmed on: July 18, 2020, 12:58:37 PM
How's your transaction?

This might not be the best option but you can use the free https://www.viabtc.com/tools/txaccelerator for them to include your transaction in the next block since blockchain wallet does not support replace by fee or CPFP.

Also, consider the timing when you are placing your txid in their website since it is immediately occupied in just a few seconds or minutes due to 100 transaction/hour limit.

Still 0 confirmations, Its impossible to use the website, always limit.
Since you have made the transaction using blockchain.com ( i don't recommend using any online web wallet. You are always limited to few options and they are never safe), there is nothing much you can do now. Just sit back and wait. If the transaction doesn't get confirmed it will eventually get dropped from the network and you will be able to spend it again. Blockchain.com can't do much for you.
3016  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Alt coins worth buying on: July 17, 2020, 08:09:47 PM
I've been reading through this forums for the past few weeks and all I see is "this coin is dead" or "everything is a shit coin". Is there any alt coin with potential to invest in or is it only bitcoin?
Asking for suggestion about altcoins from the people in the forums isn't going to be the best place. I mean yeah, they will suggest you coins, but make sure you have a good analysis of it. Like look at all those newbie users that are shilling for their coins. And, then there are other users who has no clue why they are suggesting that coin but only because they invested in it.
You keep on hearing "this coins is dead" because most of those altcoins are shit coins. But no, not every coin is a shit coin. There are good altcoins out there.
3017  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Warning: crypto related twitter accounts (Binance, Bitcoin, TRON, &more) hacked on: July 17, 2020, 07:50:31 PM
What I want to know: was the exploit fixed? The Twitter security flaw closed off??

If not this will just continue happening.
The last info I got from the Twitter security team is trying to investigate the incident. I am very sure that social media as big as Twitter will not allow that to happen again, because that incident is an event where a portion of Twitter that has been verified tweeted a scam.
It is very naive of you to believe that it will "never happen" again. No matter how much they say that their security is really strong and unbreakable, they will be eventually breached. I kinda think that it was someone from the inside that probably did this or helped some to achieve this. This incident itself shows us how vulnerable everything in online is.
This also shows us gullible people are. Just because a "verified" account tweeted it, they thought it was real.
3018  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How Altcoins Failed To Win Over Bitcoin on: July 17, 2020, 07:40:17 PM
It has been decades now since the Bitcoin became a popular name in the world of cryptocurrency. However, it had a slow start but eventually became a global crypto coin. All Kudos to its developer and founder, Satoshi Nakamoto who planned a whitepaper featuring the benefits that made it welcomed by people for trading. Bitcoin is the foremost crypto coin by which people came to know about cryptocurrency. They had hardly expected any technology that would become an alternative to the traditional currencies that they have been using until now. Not only it achieved worldwide fame, but it also paved the way for other alternate currencies which are known as ‘altcoins’. But despite maximum numbers, these altcoins failed to win over Bitcoin.

Now, what are the reasons behind this failure?
Altcoins failed? Failed like how? I mean, what makes you think they a coin would be considered more successful?
I do agree, most of the altcoins that come out fails, but then there are some other well known altcoins that has done are quite unique and has been successful. Being successful does not mean that it has to take over bitcoin.
I guess for you being successful means having higher price, right? If that is that case, stop thinking like this way.
3019  Other / Off-topic / Re: The New Normal on: July 17, 2020, 07:31:50 PM
Some experts said that its impossible for us to go back to our normal lives, while this severe Pandemic is not over yet. And that we need to deal with this so-called "New Normal".
We tend to do studies, works and even businesses at home and other transactions virtually with the help of modern technology and the internet.
Being fully into digital world now, does it also help reviving the Country's economy that fast?
How do you cope up with this new normal set up?

There isn't going to be a "New Normal". Everything is going to go back to the "old normal" once the pandemic is over. We are expecting to bring this pandemic to an end right at the middle of the December or the beginning of the 2021.
We can already see some countries already on their phase 3 trail of the new vaccines that are being created and they had a really promising result on the phase 1 and phase 2.
If everything works out fine, we can hope for everything going back to normal.
3020  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: how big? on: July 17, 2020, 07:16:29 PM
Its multi-million market for sure, even the oldest analysis crypto casinos bring huge income to the economies so in 2020 this might be increased a lot for sure. Now crypto gambling is getting more popular which doesn't means existing casinos are in loss, more people are getting into crypto gambling because it is easier for any one to gamble from anywhere and get the taste of adrenaline for quite cheap price.
Existing physical currencies will never be at loss. There were regular online casinos that didn't have any affect on the physical casinos. The crypto casinos are also the same as the regular online casino, the only difference is that they accept crypto currencies while the other doesn't. Online casinos before crypto casinos were also easier to gamble from anywhere. The main reason why Crypto Casinos are better is because of the easiness of making a transactions.
and cheap price? How?
