3001  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why do ordinary people feel afraid of Bitcoin? on: April 08, 2021, 10:49:59 PM
You can't blame the ordinary people, when they hear about scams related to cryptocurrency all the time. On top of that, the volatility within the cryptocurrency sector is much higher when compared to other investment assets such as equity or stocks. A lot of potential investors are scared of what happened in 2015 and 2018, when the prices crashed by 80% to 85% in a short period of time. On top of that, the legal status of cryptocurrency is not yet clear in a lot of the countries (including India and China).
It's just that bad news spreads much better than good news Wink Despite everything, bitcoin has still not become a familiar investment asset and the media often does not add credibility with its negative materials. Therefore, even if professional investors do not have a consensus on this issue, it is difficult to expect a strong level of trust from ordinary people. And distrust and a poor level of information ownership give rise to fears.
Wrong information spreads faster than the good one. Scamming and all the negative information injected first into their minds that's why they never listen to anyone who talks about crypto in positive looks. We can never force these kinds of people to believe us, nor they bothered to listen to our explanations, they are already closing the door to a great opportunity, we can do nothing with them but just let them choose what they want.
3002  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Converting Bitcoins? on: April 08, 2021, 10:34:31 PM
Ok so if I convert Bitcoin to Ethereum I know I will be taxed. If I convert Bitcoin to GUSD, will I also have to report that to the IRS so I will be taxed?
I can't see any difference between both, bitcoin to Ethereum will be taxed I don't see any reason why Bitcoin to GUSD won't be taxed too, same goes for any altcoin you trade it into, it will surely be taxed, there's no escaping that, the government said you should pay tax just obey the law and pay the tax to avoid getting arrested.
If that already been a mandate of the country, there is no way to escape from that. Well, never find a reason why we should avoid paying our tax, that only leads to violations.
As long as it is a fair amount collected from us, there is no need to question that but if that be going abuse and the collections are high that certainly be needing close attention. But, I suppose to think that it was fair, the government is also basing of what you have declared. So, maybe we have not to declare all our holdings in order to pay small tax...lol
3003  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2021 NBA Season on: April 08, 2021, 09:22:21 AM
Everyone from the rotation scores! A much dangerous Nets after KD's comeback!

Expect that handicap to soar high, very tough to bet against this team if they continue playing like this, with almost all can take you outside and those who penetrate are also got a high chance of making and1.
Welcome back KD then next Harden and Jordan, Ohh Wow! That's the expectations!
No one can complain about their performance here.
All the negativity before just fades away after this game.
I have the assumption that it will not work because of lack of chemistry. Nets had been adding new players in their roster and that doesn't work most of the times.
But for this team, it did work.
Ball rotation is there, they are not selfish and trust the other guy to contribute for their offense.
Assists stats 37 Nets against 23 Pelicans. What more if Harden is playing?  Shocked

We can also praise coach Nash for doing a beautiful job so far. I guess being a player himself, he can relate to all of this high caliber players and bring team to a common goal, which is to win the NBA championship this year.

It is still a long way to go, yes they will be the favourite now, but for sure other teams will want to beat team and prove that they are not invincible even with that celebrated line up of 3 superstar + a lot of good  caliber players.

That's given already, when the team playes well, the credit also goest to the coach because even how good the players but without a proper coaching and good chemistry, team will still not succeed. Nash team up with Kobe before but they did not win a championship, so probably due to a bad coaching but here we are seeing the Nets with a great chemistry and it will be their key to winning the championship this season.
3004  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Low volume coins good for investment now? on: April 08, 2021, 07:52:22 AM
My portfolio consists of a healthy amount of ADA, Doge, BTT, REEF, ZIL, HBAR and XLM... im looking for a really cheap alt to get into whilst ridiculously cheapnlike I did BTT... im a hodler so not looking for something that's about to explode... just something I can but like 500K of for couple hundred dollars... what's peoples suggestions ?

Well, you can still find a lot of cheap altcoins now but low volume means higher risk, so be careful.

This is not the time to accumulate as the market is already bullish.
I guess there are still a lot of altcoins listed in Binance that have not pump yet, but check on the reasons why they are not pumping.
3005  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: If you had 4,000.00 USD, what would you invest in? on: April 07, 2021, 10:59:18 PM
Everyone has different life necessities, so I'm sure everyone's investment policy will be different too. I myself really believe in the future of Bitcoin,
so I will invest 50% in Bitcoin. Then 10% I will buy some altcoins, the next 20% I will invest in the stock market. And the remaining 20% I will save
in my bank account, for savings if there is a sudden need.
Just in case failure will come, you still have money left. It is a nice idea.
I was thinking that way also but I never put a huge amount for investment in crypto alone, I have to open for outside investment like real estate for more assurance.

4,000 USD isn't really a huge amount but if we are too smart to place it in the right investment, we can possibly double it in a shorter time. Only we need to focus on our plan and make a decision that could really help to grow it. Though we say that we can afford to lose it, however, it wasn't the thing we aiming for but to increase it.
3006  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Giving bitcoins as a gift? on: April 07, 2021, 10:40:16 PM
If you have that amount and that you are also willing to give it, that was your decision and surely it appreciated more than enough. Nobody is expecting to have that reward even from a multi-millionaire. She saves your life and that she deserves something from you (and I will be doing that also). If that he knows about Bitcoin and knows the value of it, this could make a big change to her living. That surely she can't afford to reject it, though.

We won't be able to see JMF anytime soon.

Fajardo extends recovery period

Quote
THE expected delay in the opener of the PBA 46th season also meant extending the recovery period of San Miguel Beer main man June Mar Fajardo.

Although the Beermen are just as eager to start the Philippine Cup just like the rest of the field, the continued spike in COVID-19 cases has forced the league to abort the planned April 18 season opener and instead, re-evaluate the entire calendar for the year.

As PBA officials assess their next course of action, the recuperation of the 6-foot-10 Fajardo from an off-season surgery also remains.

"With the current situation, siguradong mamo-move ang season," said team manager Gee Abanilla. "That would be good for June Mar's recovery."

No need to rush everything, Fajardo has to insure that he is fully healthy before he will come back.
He is still the best player in the PBA, his healt matters and I think his team will not struggl because SMB is full of stars.
3008  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2021 NBA Season on: April 07, 2021, 11:47:19 AM
A good win by GSW, I thought that they are really out of the game, the lead balloon to 10 points, 5-6 minutes in the game. But then they step it up, Oubre hitting three's and the winning 2 free throws. Then Steph also hitting as well. Just a different GSW when Steph as the leader in playing in the game. He was rested in the first half of the 4th quarter, but the team keep it at a distance and keeps fighting.

It's really a team effort, definitely, when Curry and Green play, the team is very confident to win the game. I like their young core also doing their job, playing good defense. Bucks is without Giannis though, but Middleton is the one who keep them in the game. It's that Golden State wanted this victory to keep their hopes a live.

For Sixers, Joel just pick where he left off, another MVP performance.

They still got that mentality, being former champ they have the fighting goals.

They've maintain that chemistry as even they are really playing tough the desire to stay in this competion still inside the whole
squad, Steph really step up lifting again his team to snatch this game, Congrats to those who take them for ML and handicap
it's really a good value bet.

Curry really needs to be healthy especially now that his team is struggling, that was a close win but a great win because that's against the Bucks. I like how cluth Curry is in this game, he really is a real superstar as he always deliver right when his team needed him the most.
3009  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gamblers - How do you use your signature campaign earnings? on: April 06, 2021, 08:08:21 AM
I don't know how the signature campaign works. Hoping and believing that am gonna partake in one someday.
As a newbie, my whole attention and motive for joining this forum are to be more exposed to crypto, to teach my community women about digital currency.

It's pretty simple.  You wear a signature and you get paid when you post.  Granted the payments are small, but if you're stacking stats any way you can it is a great addition to the arsenal.  You just have to get used to making long winded posts that typically don't advance the conversation much, which is why people hate signature spammers.  It's hard to deny that the revenue they pump into the community is a good thing for those involved and merchants that may benefit from increased sales, but I don't think the forum's knowledge base is any better off due to their existence.
I'm sorry but many Bounty Managers (the best ones) don't care about the length of the posts and even encourage people to make short posts and to focus on the relevance of their posts. I don't think it's a good thing to present this practice as a common and normal thing as you do, spamming is not allowed on Bitcointalk and is punished. People finding spams should report them.

Exactly, some make their post long just to make it look good but in reality, it does not give essence to the real topic. Anyway, post are being evaluated by mods, they usually delete post that are not substantial although in our eyes it looks like not a spam post but it could be in there evaluation.

Signature campaign manager however does not act like mods, they have their own standards and we should know that so we have a good chance of being accepted in a campaign they managed.
3010  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Cotto vs Marquez - Exhibition match on: April 06, 2021, 07:33:16 AM
On my own, I dont like this exhibition fight because there will I guess a possibility that their fight becomes scripted and sometimes we think that not real, their making entertainment to people you have watched. They are just kinda making money and it will I guess not give their full fight because that is just an exhibition fight, well that is only my opinion.
There is no Scripted in talking about professional boxers because i believe that all they want is to show people that they are still fit to fight.

That's his personal opinion, and actually we don't know if its scripted or not, but one thing is sure is that the fight is not that exciting compared to a real or a championship fight. Exhibition should be way below in terms of expectation compared to a championship fight and they don't deserve to generate a lot of money.

Quote
I also favor too with Cotto here, since he is a younger fight he has still be able to fight and defeat his opponent quickly. Let us wait for the fight and I don't know how many of them will like an exhibition match.
Cotto Is my bet as well , because Marquez is already in His retiring Age.
Yeah, he is younger and I guess better fighter as well.
3011  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I went big into Bitcoin and Ethereum... on: April 05, 2021, 10:23:01 PM
Coinbase provides good service for people to hold their coin and holders can even sell their coin for other cryptocurrency/fiat. However, some people say that coinase has the worst customer services because they tend to ignore customers' issues if they live outside of the USA
It gonna be natural, can't stop issues and complaints like that. Well, not all traders are in comfort using Coinbase, so they talk negative about them.

Quote
But I suggest you should transfer all of your money to your newly-ordered Trezos. Hardware wallet gives you full control of your money and therefore, you are not centralized by any third party. Coinbase, on the other hands, control your money and somehow, your information can be sold or leaked. And if coinbase get hacked, your money might be infiltrated. Thus, Trezos give you the ability to shut down the internet and disconnect your bitcoin from the server so that no one can steal your coin with phising attack or computer hacking.
We are prone to any hacking attacks and for that huge amount, fund security is a must. Since OP had it already, maybe he could worry no more.
Now, the challenge for him is to test how firm he is about holding and how to control his emotions. If that he can still hold no matter what will happen to the prices in the next days or got be in a panic when seeing huge price corrections.
3012  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: April 05, 2021, 11:46:32 AM

Maybe Blackwater will save this guy this season, don't you think?  Grin

Too bad if he will play with the Blackwater, he has no chance to win a championship with this team but he can still get a contract. I guess Blackwater is also focus on young players, so I'm not sure he still has a space in this team.

With this news, PBA may resume soon and there maybe no signing anymore.
3013  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Low volume coins good for investment now? on: April 04, 2021, 10:48:20 PM
Can a coin with very low 24hrs volume still brings profit? For example zclassic, the volume isn't even up to 20k in 24hrs, is it worth the risk or it's a big no for you? What do you think about this?

usually such coins will have a big spread,
also a coins with low volume will be very volatile, wich mean the price can easily pump and dump anytime
and thats risky mate

Probably it is not what OP means. He is emphasizing the 24hr trading volume not it's market capacity. If that only the case, these coins are really good coins to invest in.

But OP is pointing out for volume and that it means that we can make it hard to gain profit for that trend. When it comes to trading, the higher volume makes you a bigger chance also to generate more and we consider it in picking coins to invest or to trade.
3014  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: A book to read on when to sell (before a crash) on: April 03, 2021, 09:28:25 PM
Hi,
I am not willing to trade on a daily basis, but I know for example about the 2017 crash.
Is there a reputable book, written by a reputable author, on how to know when to sell? It's like if a crypto goes 50x in one year there is a chance at some point that there will be a crash. I need to know APPROXIMATELY when I should sell.

Thank you!
If such book exist then there were no people who had been caught out on that 2017 price crash or event because people will eventually sell on that point since they are aware on the price crash
which we know that it is impossible to know the future or things that do lies ahead. Therefore, if i were you then dont stress out yourself on finding that book since it doesnt exist and if
there's one then do you really think that it would really be published nor shared publicly? No it wont. It would just be spoiled by that person instead rather than on making a book
and sharing up to everybody.People wont continue on making their own analysis if these things like can really be possibly known.
No, it's not, books are still there and it only guides us but that was different on how you deal with your emotions in live trading. More often, we miss to follow it because we are influenced by our emotions and caught us in premature selling. Because if we really have control of it for sure all traders will succeed, but it is not what we see, many were suffering losses and blame themselves. It is still hopeless if we have those books and read it but we never apply them.
3015  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Short term solid projects? on: April 03, 2021, 09:02:58 PM
Hey, what would you recommend to buy and keep for 6 months? I have BTC, ETH, Dash, Monero, Litecoin, Tezos.

Which altcoins do you recommend for few months?
If talking about altcoins, you can set aside Dash, Tezos, and MOnero from your list and keep ETH, Litecoin. Bitcoin is not altcoin so you can still keep it then, but I would like to put more on this coin than on altcoins (that is for me).

Actually, If you have a lot of money that you can afford to lose, you can buy a lot of altcoins but you have to check first its price. Most of the time I bought altcoins not its peak season, but I have to start accumulating during the bear season. If you are going to do it now, make a choice for those who are still in the pump, not those who are already in the rally for a few days because that could possibly be turning back to dump again, and for sure we gonna lose.
3016  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is this a good plan for learning tradning ? on: April 03, 2021, 02:48:29 PM
Indeed, there are no traders who are successful without learning first, even I am sure even professional traders must also learn about trading first.
All traders must have started from learning and training, so don't be lazy to learn about trading if we want to get big profits from trading. Being
successful in trading requires a process and cannot be obtained instantly. Therefore, one of them starts planning learning trading properly. We can
do it by reading books or articles about trading, or we can also learn from the YouTube platform where there are usually lots of video tutorials on
how to trade properly.
You can't be a teacher if you don't go to school. Just like it happens to trading and you can't call yourself then as a trader of you don't have knowledge about trading. Training is very important to improve our knowledge that can be also applied to real life. With this, what we have to expect us? Well, it is obvious that the result is not good and for sure we have to blame ourselves back then.
What OP did is definitely right. We know how risky and tricky is trading and we have to be prepared for it. That simply gaining some ideas from others, from written in the books helps a lot.
3017  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2021 NBA Season on: April 03, 2021, 12:30:59 PM
We have some great news here.

NBA injury updates: Kevin Durant, Joel Embiid nearing returns; Lakers missing LeBron James, Anthony Davis

Quote
Kevin Durant is closing in on a return, which is great news for the Nets, and bad news for everyone else in the league. Brooklyn hasn't necessarily needed Durant's ridiculous offensive production in his absence, going 17-3 in the month that he's been sidelined with a hamstring strain. But getting him back healthy is paramount to this team's championship aspirations. Brooklyn is absolutely loaded with talent, from James Harden and Kyrie Irving to recent additions in Blake Griffin and LaMarcus Aldridge. Getting Durant back is just the cherry on top of the icing on top of the cake for a team that is already viewed as the favorites to win it all this season.

Actually good news for the Nets but bad news for the other teams. With Durant return, it's likely that the Nets will just continue to soar and hold the number 1 spot, even if Embiid will return with the 76ers.

For Lakers, hopefully next month we will be able to see James and Davis back on the floor.
3018  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What do you think about KICKTOKEN? on: April 03, 2021, 12:01:43 PM
I don't know what this is about, I have this coin locked in my wallet and I can't do anything about it, maybe something has changed and I don't know? tell me...it seems like you need to get the moon out of the sky to unlock these coins.

Just follow the instructions issued by them. https://support.kickex.com/hc/en-us/articles/360012199739-Unlock-conditions-and-FrozenDrop-details

Quote
Brief instructions to unlock the frozen tokens:
1) You get FrozenDrop (888,888 frozen KickTokens) to your ETH wallet.
2) Register in the KickEX exchange and trade there. With trade volume, you accumulate a commission. For example, with a commission of $1, you can unfreeze KickTokens for $0,5.
3) Tokens are unlocked now. You can sell these unfrozen tokens, cover future commissions partly or up to 100% for trading on the exchange, or spend in the Kick Ecosystem.

I just found the instruction but I have no intention of unlocking my coins yet, I like to see the price to reach a new ATH then I will start experimenting based on the produres provided.
3019  Economy / Speculation / Re: I have a relatives who ask advise to invest, what should I do? on: April 03, 2021, 11:47:04 AM
I just want to share my experience, I have a relative who come to me and ask advise on what coins to invest now, I don't name a coin and I said he must do his research but he insist that I know, he want to invest immediately.

I know he is into FOMO because he seems so aggressive and like to get instant return.
He told me that since I'm a veteran, he would like to ask some advise on what coins will pump in the coming days so he can invest on it.

I knew he is so positive, and I can feel him since I also got FOMO'd before.

What do you think should I do guys? how can I help him?

Don't be responsible for your relative's portfolio, you'll get the blame if the coins you've chosen have not performed well in the market, instead teach him how to think like an investor in Cryptocurrency and let him come out with his own list, or if he really insists only refer to the top 5 coins in the market, these are all the coins worthy to invest.

That's the right thing to do, however, there are people who doesn't like to go through the process or learn the basics, they want to start right away as they are afraid they might not be able to ride with the FOMO, that's the usual mistakes of the newbies.
3020  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Cotto vs Marquez - Exhibition match on: April 03, 2021, 09:09:35 AM
Two old heads in boxing going for an exhibition match sounds like fun. I do not expect explosive power from these two anymore since they're way past their prime (especially Marquez) though I still expect to see a good bout especially on their footwork and how they carry themselves in the ring. In terms of raw power, I'd place my bet on Cotto. He's a good all-rounder too, and excels mostly on speed. A good match, I should say, and perhaps a good match to throw a couple bucks at and just enjoy the show.
Almost all people who do made up some post on this thread do look negatively for these kind of exhibition fights but it turns out to be totally opposite for you and youre enjoying it instead.
When it comes to power then i would really be favoring Cotto but i cant really just ignore on how well Marquez is even though this is an exhibition match and theyre already past
their prime but this one would be entertaining but i do agree with people words on here that exhibition matches becomes the trend now.

This is pure for fun I believed as this is an exhibition, we just have to see them fight again, we have been robbed of this fight in their prime,
I also believe its pure fun but at what part are we robbed during their fight?
What particular fight because AFAIR, both have not fought each other before although both fought Mayweather.

so at least we will see them one last time and only speculate what could have happen if they face in a real boxing match.

So no knockout, and I'm sure this two boxers are also going to enjoy their fight. Both are legendaries and HOF'ers fighters.

Let's see but I would still bet for a KO win from a player of my choice if there's a great odds for that.
