3022  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Blockchain files and wallet.dat in different folders? on: July 15, 2014, 06:02:00 PM
I would like to place the blockchain files in a different location than wallet.dat. Is this possible with Bitcoin Core?  Huh
(I would like to avoid symlinks and "-datadir" is not a solution...)

Code:
-wallet=<file>
indeed.

Well if zou are looking for all of the options you can visit: https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Running_Bitcoin

and as for example
Quote
Wallet options:
-disablewallet         Do not load the wallet and disable wallet RPC calls
-paytxfee=<amt>        Fee per kB to add to transactions you send
-rescan                Rescan the block chain for missing wallet transactions
-zapwallettxes         Clear list of wallet transactions (diagnostic tool; implies -rescan)
-salvagewallet         Attempt to recover private keys from a corrupt wallet.dat
-upgradewallet         Upgrade wallet to latest format
-wallet=<file>         Specify wallet file (within data directory)
-walletnotify=<cmd>    Execute command when a wallet transaction changes (%s in cmd is replaced by TxID)
-spendzeroconfchange   Spend unconfirmed change when sending transactions (default: 1)

There is a list with all of the command-line options that you can use while running Bitcoin Core.

If something is not on that list - it do not exist Smiley

Regards.

Hey!

It's great to have you back in here. I hope you will never ever need a rehab again.

Well and if I can say something about addictions is that we can be addicted to everything and it is never good.
It's good to realize our addictions when it's not too late.

You have a chance for a huge change and I believe you will not fail.

 Good luck.
3024  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: July 15, 2014, 02:54:24 PM
Estimated USD transaction volume is recovering slowly and price seems to be about to take off and land @$630 in few hours.

What do you think about it?

feels quiet..........

a  quiet before the storm maybe? Smiley

Seems very quiet indeed. Bter wall not moving at all atm.

35 active connection to nodes, that's all I need to know.

54 connections on http://c2chain.info/status !
.it's enough.:-) and it will be more than that sooner or later.

Oh cool, so that's total nodes in the network? I was referring to my personal node connections! it's gone from 4,5,6 to 34,35,36

Those are connected nodes - indeed.
Smiley and those numbers are growing.

Send to 2.5 mBTC : 1AWchyVv65enT5h8DJLjgJgiriMsM69TiE
And Run GENERATOR:::::10mBTC

What are you up to?

Someone should believe you have a magic wallet where coins are multiplying?
....

come on ... be serious...

this smells like a attempt of extortion.
you don't' even know what extortion means  Roll Eyes

I mean " swindle " instead of extorion.
You came here just to tell me that I indeed choose wrong English word?
This thread isn't suspicious in your opinion?

3033  Other / Off-topic / Re: Let's help my friend on: July 14, 2014, 11:32:01 PM
So, my friend wants to take a girl out on a date but he doesn't know how to ask her. He doesn't want my help (he's too proud Tongue), so i was thinking that maybe he'll take the advice of the Bitcoin community. So, can u give me some ideas to help him ask her out or how to talk to her at least. Tnxs!!!

Does your friend know her e-mail address?

If yes:  Send her an e-mail with Bitcoin Smiley and tell her that you will explain to her how to use it when you will meet :]

If no (perhaps he know where she live): Send her a letter with and explain to her that you want her to be a mother of your babies (+add some selfie Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy ).  It should work !!! (not tested yet)

Easily done. Isn't? Cheesy

Kind regards.
3034  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Best PC wallet? on: July 14, 2014, 10:11:56 PM
If we are talking about Bitcoin PC wallet I will always choose  Bitcoin Core as a best one.

I was using Electrum, Multibit, etc. and everything is OK with those but ..

Bitcoin Core was at 1st developed by ... by a father of Bitcoin. Satoshi Namakoto.
I believe he is contributing @GitHub with Core Devs Smiley and nobody even know about it.

There are some bugs in it ... like in all of the wallets! Smiley
I never had any bug at any wallet ... Cheesy I am lucky perhaps and well I am not doing many transactions ... one transaction for few few days ... Cheesy
And mostly from Bitcoin Wallet (Android) Smiley

But I really like Bitcoin Core and for me downloading a blockchain is only 2 days ... with 60mb transfer and 20gb is like a ... typical game installation in those times so it is not "huge" like some of the people say ... Smiley

And you are securing the network and you are gaining a % from a Bitcoin Father's energy Cheesy Satoshi!! I know you are with us!!! Take care and thanks for the BTCeat Cheesy

Regards.
3035  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: >>> www.Btc-Embassy.com - WE HAVE THE LAMASSU !! now on WIN/LINUX/MAC <<< on: July 14, 2014, 09:25:14 PM
I am sorry for less number of updates but you must understand that it just need more time... Smiley

Day or two and new Basteroid will be released.

Few more days and Embassy new feature will be provided Smiley

This time I am working @ a virtual computer to learn newbies how to create a wallet, install qt, backup qt etc ... Cheesy and not only ... Cheesy

Cheesy

Well... 3D world has no borders (just sometimes need better GPU Cheesy )

Ps. Our Embassy VIP Members - thanks for you support! We will not fail! We just need more time.
Smiley

Some say
Quote
failure is always an option
- not in this case Cheesy because BTCitcoin Online Embassy is already here with us and will stay forever :-)

One day people will understand that it is very fun to spend a time over there Smiley
You can read some interesting Bitcoin related stuff, learn something new (if you are a newbie Smiley ), entertain yourself Smiley and your kids Tongue   and well .. this all for free ... you just type www.btc-embassy.com and it's there!!

Well Smiley You also need a Unity Web Player  but you can always download Standalone version of the Embassy....

I think Embassy is kinda gift for the Community but somehow only % of Bitcoiners was in the Embassy... Smiley

One day I believe 90% will get there Smiley

Kind regards.

PS. Because I had some questions @Reddit about a source code for the Embassy..
I would like to say that I can show you my scripts Smiley no problem, but you understand that Bitcoin Online Embassy is created in Unity3D. So ... I will not share all of the assets that I am using because some of them are "Pro version" only and I cannot just *.rar the Embassy project folder and share with the people ...

If someone want to see all of the .js / .cs scripts I am able to upload it with no bigger problems - just let me know.

3036  Other / Off-topic / Re: Funny Pictures. on: July 14, 2014, 09:01:46 PM

This is the best one I saw recently Smiley

And after I saw that I couldn't look at this logo in a way it was mentioned to looks like before Cheesy
3037  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Bitcoin.org is looking for sponsorship! on: July 14, 2014, 08:48:21 PM
Well ... to have an advert @ Bitcoin.org that's must be very heavy traffic maker for sure Smiley
Maybe one day I will be able to pay for it Cheesy but it seems a lot of money anyway ....

There are many wealthy Bitcoiners around so perhaps someone will consider to contribute with his BTCs.

Wish you all best. Bitcoin.org was 1st Bitcoin related page which I visit after heard about BTC.
So ... for me it is like a cradle.  Next one was Bitcoin.pl which I believe is not donated enough by Bitcoiners too...
Well ... maybe one day Bitcoin related portals admins will get what they need.

ps.
Hey btw. when you are here together I will ask you cause I sent you an e-mail but never got reply... Cheesy

Is http://www.youtube.com/user/weusecoins a channel that belongs to you?

There is a video that you have on your main page Smiley as you know ...

I wanted to play this video on my BTC Online Embassy but I don't know is it acceptable by it's license..
Perhaps you do know something about it as you are playing this video on Bitcoin.org. Smiley

Kind regards.

3038  Economy / Lending / Re: Loan? on: July 14, 2014, 08:33:29 PM
I'm not sure about lending btc , because Im not sure if I can pay back the loan(collateral) in time . I'm new to BTC and only have a few shares on cryptostocks(wanna buy more) .

any advice? thanks in advance!

If you are anyhow IT related there's a bunch of people who search to hire someone to do some kind of a job... A logo ... script ... web page ... and not only.

Look everyday in here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=52.0

and here: http://www.reddit.com/r/Jobs4bitcoins

Just remember that if you will find suitable payable task for yourself you need to think for who do you work and will he pay. So best method is ask for an escrow or negotiate to pay 50% upfront 50% after a job.

It all depends on you. If someone don't want to use an escrow and don't want to pay upfront - he want to scam you (99% chances) - so be aware.

Believe me it will change your life! Smiley

PS. And if you don't have $1000++   stop thinking about Cex.io ... and when you will have >$1000 don't even think about Cex.io.

What I mean is - if you want to mine and you have few $100 - stop thinking about mining. Start thinking how to earn and became a miner (and buy a rig)

Good luck and kind regards.
3039  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin vs. Banking: An Infographic on: July 14, 2014, 08:20:20 PM
Thanks for sharing! Great article!

Quote
Credit Cards go through four processes before a transaction is approved while bitcoins go through only three. If you store your money in a traditional bank, you risk bank runs, inflation and deflation due to government actions. Bitcoins main concern for risk is someone breaking into a wallet without proper preventative measures, such as encrypting your wallet, and your coins being taken.

I hate that I need to use my bank account ...

I believe and truly hope that it is a matter of few years when I will be able to pay for everything using my Bitcoin Wallet.

As for now I am forced to use a bank account :]

Kind regards.
3040  Economy / Lending / Re: Looking for 0.1 or more btc to fund mining- will return 25% on top within 7 days on: July 14, 2014, 07:42:18 PM
here them out atleast (besides it is more fun!)

where will you get whatever + 25% from ?

you no the mining shares will be worth a chunk less in a week right ?

Smiley this is obvious that if he think that he will get those 25% from his investment he is wrong Wink

and if he is hoping for some income in next week he should wait a week instead of posting #1 post with loan request...

BTW. I found much easier to earn Bitcoins than to get a loan in Bitcoins Smiley OP mind that.
