Almost in the $3k's. There goes my crack speculation reputation again.

At least we have our nice Hats... oh wait

if the price keeps dropping we might have to sell them for food Sad

Dozens of tiny drivers? We used to think that Bose 801's made good PA too - back in the day.

(Truth be told, I've not heard the PJ's. But in my experience, plentiful bass requires surface area.)

dude, "there is no replacement...for displacement" used to be my mantra

I was agog when I heard that little thing, genuinely shocked.

i dunno, i prefer lots of 10" drivers in bass cabinets. faster response than 15"s because of the lower mass. gives more punch.

but cabinet design and driver specs makes a difference too, so it depends i guess.

well, just got an email from squirrel, my two 215+, 101, nest4x and nest2x have tracking labels printed.

Our tracking number has been updated and the order is now in the hands of FedEx; I'll post a picture of the Acorns when they arrive (looks like we will get them Wed).

what does the status say for the acorns in the minority store account? did it change from paid to something else?

also when did you order?

I just want to know, how can I make a new address in bitcoin-qt 0.17.0?

My order got executed, but I need a new address to send the money.

click "receive" in the top row of icons. then click "request payment" where all those blank fields are. you can leave them blank, or use the  "label" field if you want to give that addy a name. once you click "request payment" a box will pop up with a qt code and the addy will be under that. just copy/paste it.

No, seriously, this is an interesting question: does anyone here know somebody who got their bitcoins under $10 and still holds them?
Or may be better way to ask the same - do you know anybody who spent less than $10 per Bitcoin they own currently?
There are many oldtimers in this thread, so I assume this is a one of the best places to ask this question.

i do. of course i did sell a bunch but still have coins i mined from 2011. cost basis for many was around $2 USD. i think those were 2012 coins. they were in a paper wallet for years, then transferred out to another wallet to claim the bcash_lol. they still sit in that wallet.

i know this because i use many separate wallets to keep coins more or less organized.. some for mining payouts, some for coins i buy from exchanges. and others. including my original btc core wallet created in 2011 and still currently running on my desktop. i still use it on occasion, but its mainly trezors that see the most use now.

Good chance this has turned for the worse.

Let’s say they are not thieves the only explanation remaining is the gear is underperforming a lot.

So they are trying to tweak it to work somewhat close to specs.

I am glad I bailed and once again USA builders for mining = fail.

you mean the acorns or the bcu1525?

on discord they showed  a lot of acorns supposedly ready to ship. and they really havent given hard numbers so unless its a huge drop i figure they would just ship.

there was some firmware (or something) issue they found last minute that would be hard to field update so they will update there, then ship.

i think they said they will not release the acorns till the miner software is ready. maybe its not ready.

no matter what the reason, it sure is late.

some have claimed a fedex label has been created (in house) but that doesnt mean squat till they are picked up.

my acorn orders are from july, and i have got any email as far as when it will go out. at the mineority store they just sit as "paid."

disappointing for sure but i was prepared for huge delays. wanted new toys and took the chance.
oh well. im sure i will get them but how profitable they will be remains to be seen. but the fun and learning factor stays the same no matter when they arrive.

They started to ship the BCU-1525.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZjpLhY6hnII

i believe they are only shipping the passive cooled bcu1525s. the ones with active cooling (such as mine) are still being assembled.
3030  Other / Serious discussion / Re: Your Ideology Affects You what Tokens to Support? on: November 18, 2018, 02:06:48 PM
of course.

coins for say gambling or porn i wont buy. not because i think they are evil, or never gambled or looked at porn, but i just dont really support such a specialized coin. i dont think they should not exist however.

just a personal rule of mine, and i pass no judgement on those that use them. live and let live is my motto.
3031  Other / Serious discussion / Re: Will IRS Tax Audits Increase Because People Reported Bitcoin & Crypto Gains? on: November 18, 2018, 01:45:12 PM
i think those that did not report crypto gains will be definitely audited at some point. even exchanges that did not initially require kyc at the beginning and then do so at some point will now have your history just waiting for the irs (or whatever form it exists where you reside) to request it.

i have reported my crypto to the irs for 4 years. 1st couple years were "best faith effort" as i had no real records for exchanges that went down. last couple years i kept better records and used bitcoin.tax to get a more accurate report. then i hand it to my cpa and let him sort it out.

i have not been audited but then again im small time.

i think their 1st priority is those they find reported nothing and suddenly kyc comes along at some point and bites them in the ass.

while i dislike tax laws on crypto, its better to be a good boy to the irs. they have absolute power to ruin your life. i have no desire to mess with them as its better to be a sheeple in some situations as opposed to trying to save a few bucks and ruin my wife and my future.

after all what good is crypto gains when the irs can confiscate everything you own, and do so without due process of law. you dont stand a chance once the irs starts gunning for you.
3032  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: is it still profitable? How many rigs do the big boys still have... on: November 14, 2018, 01:45:12 PM
Let me put it this way. I remember people saying mining was "dead" all over here in late 2012. Yet here we are.

yeah i mined btc on a few gpus at just over break even cost ~2012 and hodled. paid off nice later. of course past results dont mean anything today. but it worked then.

now? who knows. if a rig is paid for and its mining at or better than electric, why not keep it chugging along.

EDIT: im not in the big boy club, just a hobby miner.

RE: hat

after much discussion with my cat, he has opined that his image cannot be smaller than any other image in the avatar. so having his image reduced to fit on a badge on a hat is out.

he will deign however to wear a genuine WO hat on his head though. will that be possible? a hat with the BTC logo for him to wear?

In order to make the hat look its best inside the existing avatar, I had to use some techniques the make the original look... weird so I  will only post the finished avatar but this is created from an original WO hat.

NICE!  my cat and i are admiring the avatar image now. much purring on his part, much grinning on my part.

thanks!

EDIT thought i changed it.. it shows in one part of my profile, but not in another, and not in this post.

cat is not amused at my forum skilz. i will pay later, its in his eyes. doomed i am
3036  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Acorn M.2 FPGA based GPU Accelerator on: November 13, 2018, 07:16:44 PM
Well  they were due in august it is november   a 90 day delay.

I would have no problem  but now all the bigger more powerful fpga's arrived making these lessor acorns worth less.

I am glad I took the refund.  Which they paid to me in full.

the word on discord looks to imply shipping this week. we shall see.

my initial orders in mid july were for two 215+, a 101 and a nest2x . so hoping im earlyish in the que if they ship in order of purchase.

EDIT: viewing my orders just now the acorns show "September batch" heh

I bought some bitcoin over spot price but the guy assured me it was purchased before the BCH split so I'm now sitting on these pre-fork coins.

Totally going to take advantage of the split.
