For everyone but achow and darkv0rt3x (I've managed to successfully open a small channel with both of these).
As a bit of a bump and a question have you guys updated your addresses of your nodes or are they offline? I'm fine leaving them there if they'll be online intermittently but it might be worth marking them as such.

edit oops I'd love to see how LN performs at a billion transactions per day ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) I can't shift $25 via LN except in < $1 transactions. We're not there yet when it comes to capacity. If you pm me or bump any thread (yours or mine in the lending section) with a $25 invoice I can try and test it out (though I might have a maintenance margin thing I have to adhere to with my new channels).

But why didn't you just log in to the exchange on the wallet app? And if you did did you not see the funds?
You can try uploading via imgur.com and posting a link to the photo(s) here (should only require one link).

Where did you transfer from and to? Did you transfer from Pro.coinbase.com to your exchange wallet? You should've seen a option to "withdraw to coinbase.com" which is fee free because they just transfer it internally.
And yes the miner fee may follow the price, once its confirmed you certainly shouldn't pay a higher fee for it to go through (in btc)...

That is because BIP39 seed phrases can carry from 128 to 256 bits of randomness (by multiples of 32 bits) internally, plus enough bits of checksum at the end to make the length divisible by 11, and every 11 bits constitutes a word (as 2^11 = 2048 possible words). Depending on the number of bits of randomness you can use, you can make 12, 15, 18, 21 or 24 word seed phrases.
Afaik you can have any multiple of 3 greater than 0 and less than or equal to 24... 3 word seed phrases aren't secure but @op some wallets (electrum used to even if it's a different structure) select phrases of different lengths so you may have anywhere from 100 or so bits to 256 bits when generating a normal seed under normal circumstances (it was just averaged to the 12 words) and I think that way of doing it made it even longer to be able to bruteforce a seed if it ever became possible.

I was talking more about on-chain, limited block space, if higher tx demand = higher fees. Off-chain, limited capital available, therefore limited payment channels, if higher tx demand = higher fees.
I can't decide if this makes sense or if its just me, could you rephrase it? There isn't a limited number of channels. When you open a channel you make a literal contract between you and the other nodes. If a node ups it's fees you'd just use a different node... Iff a payment processor or merchant charges too much for fees you'd just turn to a different one imo or complain to them and see if they'll reduce it (if your channel is open with them). This is obviously different when using a custodial wallet but you don't have to use a custodial wallet and I'd the fees become too high then competition will likely increase...

Is there not android cracking software now? Ive heard there's an apple one that's paid for for the latest version but open source for previous releases once they become older...
You could probably have also taken the phone to a computer hardware shop or smashed it up yourself to pull out the chip (although you'd have to be careful not to smash the chip). And providing your phone wasn't encrypted with the pattern they could've got the data.
Still sounds like a very near miss though, especially if you hadn't thought or wanted to get the phone analysed...

What format would you like it in? If you're using a desktop/laptop machine you can go to blockchain.com/btc/address and just click the balance beneath the first transaction (where it used to say Unconfirmed Transaction!) And the values should convert into dollar.
There used to be an option to change currency but I don't know what it is now...
Edit: I found a btc usd toggle at the top right corner too.
Edit 2: I don't think it stores information time based so you might be better off with electrum or waiting to see if anyone can provide anything better... You can dump quite a lot of addresses quickly from most pieces of software though too that electrum can search through and any unused ones light add privacy...

The feature makes the page feel cluttered to me. Whenever I've looked to use it in the past I've normally just disabled it again and stick to what I'm comfortable with...

Does your wallet not have this functionality?
You can import them into electrum and do it that way -(the bitcoin ones). Not sure about ethereum but a Web wallet or somewhere like etherscanight have the info.
Also if you've been using an exchange/bank account to convert INTO they might be able to give you a copy of all the transactions...

You're probably better off checking reddit or the stackexchsnge. If monero's Website is putting stuff on relevance order, those are the only two higher than bitcointalk on the list: https://www.getmonero.org/ <- at the bottom. Some parts of this forum like development and technical have users with interest in those fields and I imagine most users are which might be a good option for you too.

I have the 12 word seed saved.. The whole thing is so confusing haha.. just don’t wanna lose it all ![Sad](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/sad.gif) The app just crashes when I put password in.. like it’s not there at all I'd rather you don't delete anything if possible, when you load up the opener can you change the filename that's written there (can be anything you want but I'd recommend wallet2 or test). Then it should take you to a screen where you can select "standard wallet" followed by "I already have a seed").. Then put in your seed click next and put a new password you want to create the wallet with and see if that works. If it does then the previous issue was with the wallet file, if it doesn't then it's with the electrum app itself - at which point you'll have to uninstall and reinstall it. If you do need to uninstall and reinstall it, I'd consider using the standalone binary to check you can definitely recover your wallet before removing anything (but make sure you use a strong password even if you know you're going to delete it).

Does the app close when you submit the password/hit enter?
What version of electrum are you running? I don't know how you can show hidden folders on a mac but if it's like Linux then your information should be in a .electrum folder if you did a full install (potentially ~/.electrum but I'm not accustomed to mac.
And as mentioned below if you wrote down the 12 word random phrase then you can restore your wallet from that...

If proven authentic, I'd suggest somewhere between 1.1kbtc and 1.3kbtc would be paid (assuming gits ms67 or higher). You'd need a lot of trust from every angle too to ensure the trade doesn't sour (/you don't both end up being killed by the people you hired for protection)... Realistically it'd be done in a very long auction to get a fitting price for the coin and the value of these items will likely increase in the future too (even in btc terms imo). 1000 BTC unredeemed Casascius coin? Does something like this really exist?!
There are three: https://casascius.uberbills.com/

It might also have been more helpful to include a link to those reddit users which I'm not sure was done?
There's potential for a mod to see that as you jus twisting something to add to the your post count and look vaguely constructive (as a guess).

Why can't you restore with the hardware via electrum? Surely that'd have been the sensible idea rather than risking putting your mnemonic phrase online?
Just go on to make a new wallet from Hardware and then select the device and put it ot legacy and keep going through thd stages and you should hopefully see it. If not you might want to look up the derivation path needed to restore them.

On its own it proves the pseudo anonymity of bitcoin and proves the traceability of the blockchain though... Perhaps he forgot the transaction came through or he thought the 10 was more interesting than the 1, value wise or something... It'd be nice to pay zero sats per byte these days for a transaction too ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) .

You might be better off uploading a screenshot and posting the link here (from a site like imgur) so that we can work out what exactly is happening, if you draw over the txid and input and output information to maintain privacy.
What version of electrum are you running? Once you sign a transaction, is the sign button still clickable or is it grayed out and before you sign is the broadcast button grayed out. I thought that's what they did in older versions but haven't tried it with the more recent one.

Yeah no one should have 100% crypto (or at least not many).
I can still argue platinum is better for industrial practices than gold but jewellery is still dominated by gold and diamonds.
My personal portfolio is about 75% crypto and 25% stocks with around 12 months of expenses in a bank account just in case... (im at a higher risk due to age I wouldn't recommend this - and also I haven't rebalanced since the 8k region when it was 50:50).
I think also some of this problem is due to quite a few companies in the stock markets not paying dividends and making themselves speculation assets. I'm also not entirely sure why people would rather go for those than go for something that'll return you 5% in dividends a year plus have an average 4% growth than growing by 9/10% a year.

It could just be China trying to do something different so their investors don't turn to bitcoin... It could've been too late though and the banks thereay still end up using bitcoin in the long run however it might be far off before they do...
It might also be a way for the bank to raise funds off the back of bitcoin during a crisis...
