Do you need to put in money to play this game? Is it working?
Can anybody post the link of the game?

No need to put money in, it's freemium.

All game resources are linked in the OP of this thread.

Sorry wrong thread.

I would like to take you up on the offer of the NE tower that has been occupied by my troops. What price did you have in mind?

Checked that in the area, land is about 90/q, and the tower was 62 million, so giving the building at half the price, how does 210 million sound?

That sounds great, I should have the Crypto Kingdom Gold in my account to pay that, I think the exchange rate is pretty decent at the moment as well.

The exchange rate between gold and land is indeed pretty decent for holders of the former  Cheesy
3024  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: January 27, 2015, 04:29:11 AM
Not many predicted that we would reach $1242 per bitcoin in 2013, when it started the year at $13.50, unable to surpass the previous peak for 18 months.

The peak was surpassed, and 30 months after (the peak of 2011), Bitcoin was trading 40x higher.

I think this makes it more, not less, probable that the same can happen again and $50k reached if not this, the next year.

BTW. I was one of the (quite few) people to recognize that BTC's NPV was $2000 when it was trading at about $50 in March-13. This realization helped me a lot in the assurance of going speculatively all-in that year, and realizing a 600% gain in 7 months.

It is true that the prediction of $300k per bitcoin before the end of 2013 did not materialize, yet everyone who played along, did fantastically good by buying at $50. They either sold partly with me for 1000%+ gain, or are still holding for a 500% unrealized gain.

Every troll who does not have money to pay his own expenses would do well to heed this.

3025  Economy / Speculation / Re: Gold collapsing. Bitcoin UP. on: January 26, 2015, 10:03:37 PM

Just think how much truth you can buy when you control a central bank.
Way too much. This is why we are here, this is why Bitcoin is here.

This is why Eternal Vigilance is needed. Just think of all the systems that they have corrupted already, it's improbable that Bitcoin can be "saved" but as long as it does function, it is waay better than all the current alternatives.

I will order special hearts and minds training for my troops to assist them in tax collecting, I fear their military training would have hardened their minds to the plight of the common man.

You nobles are being trained here to go out and help the peasants with their troubles. There are so many things they cannot do themselves. Better organization of the countryside means better security for them, and the taxes they pay gladly because it is all for their good. That the taxcollectors bear arms is just an old custom, it does not mean anything in our modern age. If any of the peasants do not agree with these basics, perhaps there is something wrong with his understanding, and a clinic is probably needed. After all, without government, there is no health or happiness - anything that looks like it is suspicious.
3027  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 26, 2015, 04:29:31 PM
No way to know how many of those 1.9 million(now 2 ) are active vs just sitting on some milibits.

There are ways to know it, one is statistical analysis of the distribution of the bitcoin balances.

Because of the way bitcoin balances are created, their distribution follows some mathematical laws that can be used to model the distribution. This applies as well to the grand totals, as to (for example) the bitcoin balances that individual customers held at Mt.Gox and lost.

And it applies to Coinbase. Spending one hour, I could tell the answer quite well. But for sure most of the 2 million are <BTC1, because the average is probably around BTC1 or a bit less.
3028  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 26, 2015, 04:22:48 PM
If I wanted more BTC, I'd simply have put away a fraction of the money I made selling at the 2013/2014 juncture.  I spent it all (or have it earmarked) for property development projects.  Don't worry...I've got a decent amount of powder of the BTC variety dry.

I more or less got the posting bug out of my system over the last few weeks.  The only interesting thing going on recently is the sidechains possibility which is probably the last hope to save Bitcoin as something worth saving.  Also, gearing up for the 'gavincoin' fork war is something I should be focusing my efforts on, but it's such a hassle and a lot of work that I've been remiss...easier to post babble on trolltalk.

I tend not to be 'bullish' or 'bearish'.  Price spikes and drops are just things that happen.  Obviously they are emotionally exciting, but I expect both of them to continue so none of them are big surprises.  I just call things as I see them and tell people what I am doing.  Told people I was buying in the single digits.  Told people I was selling in the four digits.  Told people a few days ago that I'd probably be buying right now if I had no BTC and some money to gamble with.  Maybe that's what turned the market around.  Who knows?  I mean anyone who is watching will probably listen to my thoughts more than the perma-bull bozos who look indistinguishable from pump-n-dump scammers.

My words exactly.
3029  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 26, 2015, 01:48:48 AM
Condolences to those who sold at $170. They should have known better.
...

And to those who held @$1200 hoping for the $300,000 coins you promised.  Who lost more, I wonder Huh

(you must know already that I don't reply to paid nuisances for their sake, but to make a point)

I bought at $3, held through several figures, and am about to lighten up at $300,000.

My general exhortation to buy BTC was at about $15 in February 2013. I have never since changed the recommendation, nor exhorted selling. So people who actually do what I say, are now about 1800% ahead in 2 years. Previously they have earned a 100-200% gain in silver.

The point is that me, and everyone who has followed my recommendations in full, is ahead. Take only what you wish, and apply your own, suffer the results as well.

Not interested in continuing the "debate" about things that have happened before your account is created. Hard to believe you could add value to them.

If you still can post tomorrow this time, the moderators are not doing their job btw.

RWWC  IPO

Current situation:

700 million @ 1.00  HM The King
-----------------------------------------
0 million left

(offer the amount that you want to invest, and the max price at which you are willing to do it, because the offering is for fixed monetary value, not fixed number of shares)

This is a new venture and the profitability scales linearly with the future volume of building. The profitability per window is uncertain at present, we estimate that the production cost is about 35% of the current retail. If the company had existed from 1430 to this day, it would have already made 2,000 million profit.

1,000 shares can be converted by using Science. When 1,000 SCI are converted, the technology is unlocked.

HM already owns 450 shares from selling the lot.

It is getting costly that the University Chancellor has not given the command to build the main building (whose plans have been ready about a decade now, and financing transfered years ago). The windows monopoly is something that could be researched as a University effort easily, for everyone's benefit. The town is not building research centres for the very reason that University should be doing it.

The Town Housing Company (THC(tm))

THC is now given to the Town shareholders as dividend. If you want to buy more shares, max at a time is 500, and it works a bit differently than other companies:

New shares are created and money goes to company. It's a stock offering that is always on (or a mutual fund, if you like). Likewise, if you sell, you delete your shares and take money from the company account.

It now has 11x blocks of flats, see /THC tab for details.

The daily dividend is now optimized to be 0.62%, paid automatically and financed from the free cash flow only, no gimmicks.
3035  Economy / Speculation / Re: rpietila Wall Observer - the Quality TA Thread ;) on: January 25, 2015, 02:53:03 AM
I would prefer to be remembered as a person who has been able to make good money on methodological investment, than by random quotes taken out of context.

Why?

Because the first thing is a hard, indisputable fact. The second is endless talk, and to do it justice, you would need to have lived through the times and could connect all the 5000+ posts, which you (or even I anymore) cannot do.

I am not writing a qur'an here. My words have a context, without which it's hard to understand and childish to criticize.

ohh, nice, I became a Baron!

may I request a haw now? Smiley

I would also like to withdraw the moneritos from my quarry acc

(haw) Yes, you may!

3037  Economy / Economics / Re: Monthly average USD/bitcoin price & trend on: January 24, 2015, 03:09:46 AM

Result:

What does this mean?

That the baseline Bitcoin price is $6k, and we are  s e r i o u s l y  undervalued atm. It does not go to the baseline when it shoots, it shoots up, perhaps as high above as we are now below.

(The trendline is of course subject to update with each datapoint, so it should be more like 3-4k, and the next top also a low-5-figure amount, instead of a six-figure one)
3038  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto Kingdom - 1991 Retro Virtual World(City) on: January 24, 2015, 03:00:01 AM
Smiley You can now get Culture from playing the game!  Smiley

The admins have been given the authority to add Culture to every player who actively plays the game, including:
- posting stories in the thread
- helping others in IRC.

The Theatre produces ~10 culture for the employee cost only of 5.7 million/year. You can gain up to 10 culture per year by posting and upholding the culture of the game Smiley

Please note also that the best way to gain shares in the RWWC, which will have the monopoly on windows production and sales, is to set up a research facility of your own! Smiley

(or buy the shares of the company directly in the IPO-auction that is going on!)

Everyone who shared their story when asked some time ago, gets the following:

- 5 culture
- An upgrade for one of their servants, either ASS1->ASS2, ASS2->ASS3, SPE1->SPE2, SPE2->SPE3, WAI->BUT1, BUT2->BUT3

Please ask the admins to do it when you know what you want Smiley

By the way, SPE1 is now freely available Smiley

SPECIAL-subgame is opened

- CULture and SCIence now accrue to their respective tabs in Char DB
- SPECIAL tab shows your culture/science institutions
- N9/N8 (gold/silver) NPCs provide culture/science

RWWC, Royal Windows Works Corp.

This company is now established, and we have evaluated that the science required to unlock the advance of "reasonably good quality windows" equals to 1,000 science points. Now, this is good news!

As this is unlocked, the royal monopoly for making windows will be given to the RWWC, and its shareholders will keep the profits that previously went to the usurious foreign merchants from Rouen.

The company has bought the site that HM reserved for it long time ago. (Because the times are bad, HM sold the land actually at a slight loss.) State-of-the-art research center will be built to gain as much science as possible. The shortfall is up to anyone to supply. For supplying science to the project, 1 share of the company will be given per 1 science.

Also, the window-making factory will need to be built. For these purposes, 700 million is raised. The higher the price, the less shares are given out, for the total is 700 million always in this offering. We are sure that the flamboyant profits when the window-making starts are more than enough to cover all future expansion needs.

Current situation:

700 million @ 1.00  HM The King
-----------------------------------------
0 million left

This is a new venture and the profitability scales linearly with the future volume of building. The profitability per window is uncertain at present, we estimate that the production cost is about 35% of the current retail.

Quote
The Town Housing Company (THC(tm))

This company is also established with 2 billion of Town seed funding. It is now valued at 2.1 billion, with 8 blocks of 20 apartments each, enough to supply 10% of the town's NPCs in 1 NPC per apartment (the apartment costs about 50-65k per year to rent so singles can rent their own if they want).

On Sunday, it will be given as dividends, so that 1 share is given per every starting 500 gold. After this, it is possible to purchase shares from the company directly, which will lead to more model1 houses being constructed. Or sell them back.

The company pays dividends daily, currently at about 0.40%.

The centenary celebration of the Royal CryptoArmy

The perpetual requirement to quarter Army troops in exchange for the Army haw in 1-SW is lifted

We have decided in our benevolence that 100 years is enough, and everyone is now free to disband their troops if they like. It is not advisable though, since trained troops are indispensable when asserting control of the lands that you will receive in 1600 as fiefs. On the contrary, further recruiting may be needed for many if not most Earls+.

(The issue arose btw. with the Marquess of North Face when we were negotiating about Grand Hotel army contingent. In our understanding, the -5.7 million per year mandatory payment translates to about 1 billion liability that we were gracious to buy back at a max reduced rate of 0-200 million. The Marquess was on the opinion that the seasoned soldiers were an asset to GH instead. He won.)

The Town decisions - Real boost for the game economy

To tackle the issues that are hindering new player adoption and making the gameplay less fun for existing players, we solved all our problems. Please inform us Councillors if new problems emerge:

We don't have money! (nobody is taking it really, it goes to the town and is distributed to gold holders so these decisions are between different groups, not between players and somebody else(tm))
NPC & other expenses "tax rate" down to 10%

When Services pool, and Servants, were introduced in 1450, the "tax rate" was 50% because it was deemed that many cannot live in the city, so they often take their money out, without benefitting the local economy. Town received up to half of the NPC income then, and the rest was put in the Services pool.

While the NPC housing has proliferated, this rate has come down, to 30% in ~1500 and recently 20% in ~1550. Now it has been taken to 10%. Even this is not really tax, it's just the difference between tourism (+) and remittances (-), so more correctly a balance of payments (the imports, as we know, go to the town as there is no "outside of the gameworld" account that anyone could tap into). When the city is booming, the builders increase the remittances, worsening the balance. As it has cooled down a little in the construction front, the balance has improved.

We still don't have money, and no use for the Science!
RWWC, Royal Windows Works Corp.

The windows are a large cost item in the buildings. Soon, a Royal Windows Works company will be established, and you can buy shares of it with Science points and money. Science will retroactively accumulate from 1550 to whatever is the year that the system is fully implemented. The corp will build large halls where this industry can be operated, and Windows will become items to be bought from this monopoly company. The intention is to keep windows price the same, or increase it only a little, and deliver the monopoly profits to shareholders. The science-bought shares may have restrictions on transfer. Others can be freely traded.

This will be a large company. The windfall monopoly income from the windows is, even at the current level of construction, about 20 million/year. This spells the company valuation of 2,000 mil+.

Getting to own housing is too much of a hassle!
The Town Housing Company (THC(tm))

The town will catalyze the housing front with the following plan:
- The THC is established with Town money. It will be delivered to Town shareholders (goldowners) as dividends as soon as practical. This will be an extra dividend in addition to the gold dividend.
- The aim is to develop "placeholder houses" in areas that are in the first stages of development or where land price is low for some temporary reason. These houses are intended to be quickly built at a low cost, and return a high ROI. When they develop a need of repairs / when the land price increases and prompts for a more important use for the land, they can be sold/demolished, land sold for profit, and new houses built, so the RE portfolio all the time slowly creeps towards the edges of the town.
- The stock of the company could be bought freely, and new shares are emitted as needed (at ~NAV). Also buyback would be effortless and liquid. The company would pay daily dividends.
- No restaurants, hotels, etc in these houses. Just simple rental.
- The houses would be built from a selection of model houses, cutting the Architect cost and saving their time for player projects.

I need Architect/BI!
Roopatra is back

Also she will raise prices! Smiley This is good, because it increases availability. Also Febo is a BI. Trying to ask Asenath or me might not work so well, the former has the 30-million-stone project in 1-S and mine is the Town housing + all royal projects.

Nobody can compete with the professional restaurant owners!  Angry
If you operate just 1 restaurant, you'll get +1 point in Special.

In the cheapest category it matters little, but in midprice and high-end, a +1 is a sought-after thing worth up to millions per year.

There is too little land!
Oh yes, we have noticed - 2 new boroughs will be opened in an instant

It might seem that there's plenty of land, but since the minimum price to acquire new land is 1000 mil/q, it really does no harm to anyone to open up some new. Also the time when stone transport starts to cost you is near. (Many things that make the game interesting in the micro level are there, almost ready to be started, pending other things to be released first.)

We need the online gameplay!
It is coming.

Even when it comes, what we think it helps, is the new player and visitor experience. As a noble who plays Quarry, rest assured that it will still be played in the Google DB for the weeks to come.

The good points with the delayed online version is that our economic structure is so much better thought-of, and we players know the game better and are still interested. This increased trust is shown in the price of gold that hit the new record. Since we have been growing 2.5% daily at a meager growth in new accounts, the "market" has shown that this is exactly what we have needed.

Even I am often indignant that the release is taking 3 times as long as was promised. I should not be. It is doubtful that anyone could have done it much faster. Now we get it cheaper, at only 1.25 times the original price + 8% of all the gold in existence.

Of course, if all this information had been available before the devteam making foolhardy promises, I would have:
- first rejected their much higher realistic quote outright;
- then wasted time in trying to find the guys who both promise and deliver in 3 weeks;
- then need to organize a crowdfunding round for what is not a game yet, just a monologue thread (b/c not having willingness to take all the risk from my pocket, because then I would get the rewards also, and sharing the rewards has been the idea all along);
- then start over with searching for the devs;
- and never having time to develop what is the most important thing in the game; what distinguishes us from the competition: the culture, and the economic engine.

I think we are doing fine, and everyone involved is certainly happy with the result, if (and only Wink ) the game succeeds.

We need a rulebook!
It is coming

HG The Bishop has started a Wikia and is periodically updating it.
Lord sXpher has promised to update it according to my detailed instructions how to do it the best.
The Prince of New Liberty has hinted about making an instructions manual about the subgames.

The thing is, anyone can write these, and they are much appreciated. It's just a fact that the rules are a-changing, and it will always continue to happen. If this disheartens you, don't write a manual nor help others then Wink
