3021  Economy / Economics / Re: Acting CoC Hsu: More crypto regulation is needed on: November 08, 2021, 06:31:27 AM
Well, it isn't that hard to figure that out imo. A lot of people are pretty scared of crypto due to how the scene is mostly unregulated, and not just people, even countries are afraid of actually trying to adopt it due to the fact that it's still new and its possible future effects still aren't that guaranteed. With regulations in place though, people would probably be a lot more comfortable with it and would probably embrace it more willingly since they can have an easier time understanding it due to the regulations placed.
3022  Economy / Economics / Re: Preparing for the future. on: November 07, 2021, 01:28:15 PM
Well tbf, most of the jobs that you've listed are jobs that require you to actually spend a fuckton on it, not just simply studying it up in a year or two. Like they say, it takes years for your craft to actually blossom and for it to be considered as something as "high paying". Not to mention the competition since if you yourself know that those are jobs that are being taken up now adays, others would also know of it no? Though afaik at the current state there's actually still a lot of demand for it.
3023  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: November 07, 2021, 05:52:09 AM
Finally 2-2 and last game ahead. The fourth game was pretty even with almost complete absence of outs for DG (EDG luckylly stole the dragon, but in another episode they were unlucky so that luck did not interfere with this game). I am surprised that bookmakers do not rate the teams' odds as equal:
Edward Gaming 2,35
Damwon Gaming 1,57
Slept on the last game since I was pretty tired by then, just finished watching the VOD and ultimately it looks like EDG closed the game favorably for them, not letting Damwon take any chances from them from the last game. rather unfortunate since I was really rooting for Damwon since the beginning, but well, can't help with that I guess. Guess you could say EDG winning was kind of unexpected but also at the same time unexpected? Ig EDG just outperformed Damwon in the end.
3024  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: November 06, 2021, 03:44:06 PM
It was obvious  Cheesy After the first game, the odds really changed a lot:
Edward Gaming 1,90
Damwon Gaming 1,85
Interestingly enough, the odds on the 2nd and 3rd maps are still in favor of DG:
1,52 - 2,40
I must say that EDG played the first game in a dominant style and I see no reason why they should not continue and win, for example, with a score of 3-0.
In-Game 4 right now and EDG is leading for the current game but a score of 2-1 in favor of Damon on the best of 5. Looks like we might actually be seeing a game 5 and I wouldn't be surprised if either teams took the last game, both teams are being quite the finalists here with each team showing how they reached the finals. It was pretty amazing how EDG took game 1 though, but Damwon is showing they aren't to be underestimated here with them taking the next 2 games.
3025  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Start somewhere on: November 06, 2021, 05:13:24 AM
Well, that's how it is in trading tbh, there's only a small amount of investors who hit it big even with small investments, and that's even with the proper research done by most investors. You just can't help but miss some of the projects that don't look appealing, at all tbh, and it's also not your fault that you failed to read on things that would be a hit or not. That's just how investment goes, you win some, you lose some. Bright side is, you can at least consider yourself to have started somewhere already and can pretty much continue on with other projects without that much stress anymore compared to the first investment you made.
3026  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Country restriction and use of vpn or tor on: November 06, 2021, 03:13:34 AM
Yes, most ToS forbids the use of VPN, but hey, most people have that mindset of if you don't get caught then it's not really a huge issue. They can't stop the usage of VPNs by users and honestly, I don't think they can actually even discover them unless the user themselves slip up and reveal that they use VPNs (or reveal that they live in that certain country). VPN's are something that is very useful and wouldn't necessarily reveal that you're using one, after all, that kind of defeats the purpose of using VPNs. Just use a legitimate one imo to make sure you won't get hacked/scammed.
3027  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which one are You ? on: November 06, 2021, 01:30:56 AM
I'd be a Casual Social Gambler ig? Ofc I get frustrated when I lose but that's all part of the game for me imo. It's fun to win yes, but it isn't my goal, rather the goal is to have fun in the game itself, which is what I think makes me part of that group. Still I guess I can get kind of competitive sometimes? I sometimes lose all manner of composure and just go for a do or die moment though that rarely happens, and I don't use more funds than what I've set for myself so I wouldn't go and consider myself as the impulsive types.
3028  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Going for the Underdog or Not? on: November 05, 2021, 11:05:15 AM
If we are talking about $ 10 and you are not a citizen living in India, then this is, of course, small money, which is not so a pity to lose.  In this case, I would bet on an outsider, because when you lose, your thoughts about bets will stop, and if you win, there will be $ 13 and again you have to guess who to bet on.  Is this looping necessary?  And it seems like it is not necessary at all! Smiley
I think the idea of trying to go for the underdog or not is lost under the premise of how much money you have left to bet though? Just go for the underdog if you think they'd win really, no matter the amount you'd bet. I mean, it's called betting for a reason after all, and letting yourself get stopped due to money issues seems like something a gambler-ish reason since you know, you are gambling and money was always never an issue when doing so imo.
3029  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Genting Casinos awarded for their safer betting standards on: November 05, 2021, 07:48:46 AM
Yet half of the licensed online casinos don't even have basic provably fair mechanisms.

It's quite ridiculous. You don't need to be a rocket scientist to be able to provide a good standard of security and privacy, and it should be industry standard. No one should get any awards for doing something that they should have done in the first place.

Crypto casinos are self regulated and speak for themselves in this regard with their provably fair, which is far better imho.
Isn't it because the license itself is really easy to get? Iirc there was even a thread here about that where you just need to submit the relevant documents and you're pretty much done. I guess it just goes to show how most casinos don't actually adopt the proper stuff that they should do. Though really, instead of incentives, they should've prepared punishments to those who couldn't actually reach the standard of their "Safer betting" standards.
3030  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What game do you prefer in gambling? on: November 05, 2021, 07:30:12 AM
Dice, Crash, Slots, and poker. I used to enjoy Black Jack but I'm currently playing around Poker right now so I temporarily stopped spending my time with it. I used to play poker way back then and missed it recently so I tried it, and boy I'm proud to say that I'm currently getting destroyed whenever I play with others  Cheesy. Crash is just something I really enjoyed when I discovered it, it's pretty fun even though the core concept is just me waiting to lose my money due to trying to go for higher odds. Dice is well, dice.
3031  Economy / Economics / Re: CBDCs are not cryptocurrencies on: November 04, 2021, 04:33:42 PM
From what I gathered CBDC is pretty much just online fiat? Though I think there might be some developments where it could use blockchain, most people expect it to actually just be digital fiat since well, you know, it's centralized. The most people could get from it is that it would be far more convenient in terms of online transactions since it's pretty direct. I think why most media outlets report of CBDC at first was because it was thought to be something similar to crypto which is run in blockchain, but further developments said otherwise. I really won't consider it as crypto tbh.
3032  Economy / Economics / Re: 6 billion to solve world hunger? on: November 04, 2021, 01:10:19 PM
Isn't it simply a temporary solution? I'd honestly agree with the teach them to fish instead of giving them fish ideas instead. Run a scholarship program of sorts where you sponsor a community for a year or two of learning and then have them come work under a company for a set amount of time. It may take a longer time, but it's honestly better than just having a short-term project to help those in need. Though I guess if we take into account the matter of actually turning malnourished people into people that could actually learn, study and work, it might take a bit more time, and probably money.
3033  Economy / Economics / Re: There are many online jobs out there. Crypto Opportunity. on: November 04, 2021, 05:19:33 AM
It's not only limited to crypto though? Online jobs have always been there, it's just that most people weren't exactly looking for them since most of their efforts were concentrated on looking for real-world jobs due to it seemingly more "legit" or something. Though I guess crypto did open up more jobs for online purposes, they require pretty strict requirements since it involves a lot of info about studying the crypto scene, especially if you're pretty new to it. It'd take quite some time tbh, though ig that's how it is for most job opportunities anyway.
3034  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can BTC rise to 1 million US dollars? on: November 04, 2021, 02:13:47 AM
Isn't guessing the price for 15 years later a tad bit too long? There's still a LOT of stuff that could happen in those 15 years, and a lot of them would probably be a huge game-changer in the current system of what Bitcoin, or rather, what crypto is, especially for the higher-ups. Additionally, I'd reckon we've gone way past the peak of crypto by then, and the scene would gradually stabilize imo and instead of being seen as a speculative asset by then, could be seen as a currency that it was always made for. We'd be heading off to the point where volatility wouldn't be an issue for most transactions by then, hopefully.
3035  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tommy Fury vs Jake Paul on: November 03, 2021, 02:24:19 PM
Good luck to Paul lmao. Of all the opponents to choose, he chose someone that can properly whoop his ass now. It's a blessing for the people who want to see him fall down and a curse for him imo. Especially with the bets involved between the two right now, I highly doubt there'd be any external parties that would come to affect and change the natural result of the match. Though i think it wouldn't be a match that's completely one-sided, I can expect that Tommy would pretty much triumph over Paul.
3036  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Surviving For Tomorrow on: November 03, 2021, 11:24:50 AM
Well, that's how it is in trading, diversifying your portfolio pretty much lets you have that chance of being safe from the scenario where you invest all in in one coin and then it dumps. Diversifying at least lets you have the option of having multiple investments sink and profit, depending on what coin ofc. Still, I'd probably go for safe coins since even if you fill up your portfolio with hundreds, if they were all shitcoins, nothing much would change. Though ig if your own personal research led to you believing that you would profit, then that'd be your choice.
3037  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How often do bookmakers make mistakes in setting odds? on: November 03, 2021, 08:17:38 AM
Don't bookmakers have their own metrics when setting odds? I'd reckon it would be weird for you but it wouldn't be weird for them after all the research they did I suppose. Not familiar with who OP posted about, but researching about the influences of the matches of players should be quite natural in how bookmakers set odds? Sides, considering the fact that you said most fights were amateurish, then with that wouldn't the odds of close to 50-50 be correct? They wrote it down, but the influence is probably small.
3038  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin adoption by banks - good or bad? on: November 03, 2021, 06:35:52 AM
I'd reckon people are happy simply because it's a form of adoption, it's like at this point any adoption would probably make people happy. Still, though, those genuinely happy due to banks adopting it might be because the original process of Bitcoin transactions was tedious for them, and having it in banks, which is what they use most of the time adopting it, makes it much easier for their side. Though in the end, that just means that those people ignore what Bitcoin gives to users at its core, privacy, and anonymity.
3039  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I have 500 lost Bitcoin - need help on: November 02, 2021, 11:59:40 AM
You still have the email then I'd reckon? It should be possible to restore the password somehow by contacting the customer support of the email provider you use. Granted it would take quite some time and probably a lot of stuff that would require you to prove that you are indeed the owner of the email, such as last time logged in, security questions, etc. It shouldn't be that difficult if you could prove it with that, but if you can't, they may ask for some hard stuff or something. Should be pretty straight forward imo.
3040  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: FTX or Binance? on: November 02, 2021, 08:45:17 AM
FTX looks interesting, I haven't heard of it before but just checking it out seems like it's pretty okay. I'd reckon it's a nice exchange but I'm biased with Binance since it's been the one I'm using for quite some time now. I see no reason to leave really, it's not like there's much difference in KYC requirements when it comes to both exchanges, and as for the tools, I'm not really one to actually nitpick them so I'm fine with whatever as long as it works for what I want to do. I'd still go for Binance ngl.
