3021  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Microstrategy rug us again? on: April 12, 2022, 03:55:51 PM
You need to experience what a rugpull is to truly understand its use. What could've happened at the time won't be far from price correction, nothing more. Perhaps when Microstrategy bought, certain whales felt it could be an appropriate time to dump in order to cause panic in the market. They often do this to create an atmosphere of panic sale and thereafter buy back cheap from weak hands. We see that pattern often. Yet investors still fall for it. How would they crash the market immediately after investing. It's not logical. Contrary to what OP thinks, it's far from rugpull. It's correction.
3022  Other / Meta / Re: Request for Nigeria local board on: April 12, 2022, 01:48:23 PM
Even in what looks like bumping this thread, it's not so much as that though as the issue that birthed this thread is still topical. On behalf of all industrious and actively involved Nigerians on this forum, I once again crave the indulgence of theymos as the CinC of bitcointalk to kindly consider our noble plea for a local board. The merits and gains of assigning one to the Nigeria community will undoubtedly astound members of this forum. Nigerians are a vibrant set of humans on the face of planet earth and will put that gesture to good use.
3023  Economy / Reputation / Re: Alt possibilities for 4 high rank accounts on: April 12, 2022, 11:07:24 AM
OP, it's more likely that your account is an alt too. We know it's almost impracticable for a newbie account to know how to hunt down alts when they haven't even got used to navigating the forum. With just seven posts to your credit you're already acting detective. How credible is that? Anyway, your suspicion of them being alts isn't concrete enough if what you've got on them is posting style coincidence. You've to provide strong and veritable evidence like wallet address connections and other formats used in the Known Alts of Any-one thread.
3024  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Don't be too greed for more gains.... on: April 11, 2022, 11:31:07 PM
I'm one of those few people who believe that experience is a better teacher than knowledge, while hoping that my experiences don't turn out sour or bad. Whatever that happens directly to us is an experience that leaves an indelible mark on us. It's a better way to learn. Now that you've experienced it first hand that profit made can still evaporate if it's not taken off the table, I bet you won't allow that to repeat itself. In cryptos, it's not yet calculated as profit until it's taken out. Every veteran here will tell you that from experience. Next time, do a partial profit taking. You can take off 50% at a go and watch it run. If you're still not sure price will rise more, you can do another percentage taking like 20 or 30. That way, you won't lose.
3025  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Fall of BTC open the opportunity to buy alts on: April 11, 2022, 04:34:40 PM
If BTC fall down to 19,000$ again
It's highly unlikely that will happen. I say this because we've seen a different type of investors since last year come in to buy Bitcoin. I'm talking of institutional investors as against what was on ground in the past years. It will be a miracle for Bitcoin to get down that low. In the even that happens I'm going to load up big time in the midst of panic and fright from newbie investors. I've stayed long in this game to know that every major Bitcoin crash is an opportunity to load up.

It looks like BTC will go Bear phase from now on
Well, I beg to differ on this. I only see a momentary price correction; if anything.
3026  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Desktop wallet vs Mobile wallet on: April 11, 2022, 02:54:51 PM
Mobile wallet is more accessible for me. The fact that I'm able to have access to my wallet on transit thrills me more. I've read comments on how disadvantageous a mobile wallet is but I'm yet to experience any issue using it. I like to keep my stuff simple and I guess that's why it works well for me. No unnecessary clicking of links on my phone. If a link doesn't show a secured url, I avoid it no matter how someone told me the site makes juicy offers or could be the next best thing to the Nigerian jollof rice. That's my simple method for years and I believe that's why I haven't caught any malware.
3027  Other / Archival / Re: Request for Ukraine local board on: April 11, 2022, 10:46:45 AM
I don't understand, why these nazi threads like "Time to kill RUSSIAN bastards" doing on RUSSIAN LOCALE BOARD?
I get your point but I think it will be best to report such posts to mods so they can easily yank them off. To think that the OP of that thread is even self moderated speaks volume of premeditated ill. It means that the OP wants to go on a hate mode without any checks on them, and that's very wrong. While a lot of users here don't support the ongoing invasion of Ukraine, I think we wouldn't want that antagonistic attitude to flare up here among users of these warring brothers. Let politicians not make us enemies of one another here.
3028  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if she receives Bitcoin as gift on: April 11, 2022, 10:18:32 AM
All women want to be loved more on their birthdays receiving precious gifts from love ones. Bitcoin is more precious to me than mere gifts that will end up not appreciating in values.
What makes you think the birthday girls will appreciate Bitcoin as a gift and see it as previous? Remember that we call something precious if we truly value them. Otherwise, it doesn't make sense. The girls don't have to see it as previous because you feel it is. They may even end up not liking it at all. Anyway, they can always sell off anytime they want and get the money (that's what girls often want). There's a reason a boy surmons courage to propose to a girl in high spirit but gets rejected. His reason is simply because he feels she's already on the same page with him and into him, not knowing her mind is set on something else. It's the same way I see you calling Bitcoin precious and the girls thinking it's worthless. Pointedly, before you gift anyone anything, it's good to stylishly find out what they may like and feel excited about.

3030  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why would someone create topic that deserves merit but won't be merited? on: April 11, 2022, 08:05:45 AM
If you're writing a post about a topic that you're interested in, without focusing on whether you'll get merit, that sincere perception will often earn you more merits than a post that contains dry answers. Be simple.
Exactly the same way I made that comment above which I felt was true, without thinking anyone would merit it but you did. It isn't even the OP, yet it got merited whereas the OP hasn't got a single merit. I think users should just concentrate on writing from their heart without pandering to where merits are or aren't. I know it's kind of discouraging when one writes without getting merited, especially if one still needs to rank up. It's a common feeling because everyone likes to be encouraged in whatever they do. Merit is a type of encouragement in this forum. We know all that. However, users should just write from their heart. Posts from the heart are what I consider constructive posts, not necessarily that they've to be spiced with links and all what not.
3031  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: My biggest crypto regret on: April 10, 2022, 11:51:17 PM
Whenever I retell the story of my 2017 crypto journey, one incident stands out for me. It's such a painful incident. I just want to keep hating myself, Regalcoin and BNB for that 😢. In what looked like I had made enough gain, I sold all my 270 BNB which I bought around $0.3 and moved the whole capital to buy Regalcoin which was one of the trending tokens for lending then. Sooner had I bought it than it collapsed and all my cash gone. It saddens me till date even when I've tried to forget all that. After that, there are various mistakes along the line for me but the BNB one stands out.
3032  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoin whales on: April 10, 2022, 07:06:11 PM
They won't risk this amount if they are not sure about the future of cryptocurrency. And this seems it helps us to live confidently while investing in crypto.
First, I like to know if the amounts you quoted in your post were checked in current value or those were what were invested from the beginning? Secondly, are the quoted amounts their individual total worth in all assets or just investments in cryptos alone?

I think we can safely consider Elon Musk also as an altcoin whale – Dogecoin and Shiba Inu.
3033  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Getting up and trying again on: April 10, 2022, 03:51:44 PM
Unpopular opinion: sometimes giving up is the answer.
Yeah, sometimes it is; especially if what keeps pulling one down can lead to one's death. You quit at that point. No one needs to prove a point by displaying to others that they aren't quitters while they die in silence. This is the part I believe that quitters can also be winners. Isn't it said that he who fights and runs away lives to fight another day?

Well, the best place for you OP to start getting yourself back together will be a place where you get to do what interests you. For me that would be watching comedy skits on social media. Business (cryptos inclusive) would be the last thing on my mind at a time like that. OP, do whatever tickles your fancy. If it's getting crypto knowledge, go for it. Watch videos bon cryptos on YouTube and that will help fire you up once again.
3034  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why would someone create topic that deserves merit but won't be merited? on: April 10, 2022, 02:47:39 PM
~snipped~
You made a lot of sense and point here and from this, I have gotten some quality information I need know, sically on the point that post I consider merit worthy may not be so for others,
You now see that same thing you complained of? You made a confession that the quoted comment from Coyster made a lot of sense and was helpful to your question but you failed to merit it. Did you see that now? You have one sMerit and could've splashed it on that post but you didn't. At least, that's what BPIP for Franctoshi says. It's the same way others are likely to read those "constructive" posts you alluded to and walk past them without meriting them. The thing with merit is that there are some users who've got used to certain users and invariably find whatever posts they make merit worthy but won't merit users they aren't used to. Again, we shouldn't forget that there are users who are ignored by certain users, may be because they don't often agree with their point of view or that they simply make spam posts. So, no matter how constructive a post the ignored users make, those who've ignored them won't see their posts let alone merit them. Besides, we've to top it up with the fact that meriting posts is subjective, pure and simple.
3035  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Another day, Another Lesson for those who want to learn on: April 09, 2022, 05:45:05 PM
I never attempt to sell any of them because this is what the scammers actually want you to do, and doing this automatically gives them access to every bit of legit tokens you have in your wallet, so we must be very careful.
I think the best way to do it if someone (let's say me)  were interested in selling those suspicious tokens off would be for me to move out all my genuinely bought tokens out to another wallet first. Thereafter, I try to sell the suspicious airdropped tokens. This will be a safety measure that should work. However, on my part I've come to categorize any token I see in my wallet that I didn't buy as a scam and I obviously stay away from them. You know, if it weren't for greed to pilfer, the house rats won't be caught in traps. It's the same way I view those who make attempts to claim or sell off tokens they're sure they didn't buy. It's often a trap.
3036  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Which rookie candidate will make a better trader and quickly too? on: April 09, 2022, 11:26:44 AM
There's a reason they say those who stand on the shoulders of giants are propelled to greater heights faster than those who don't have that opportunity. It's a simple matter that anyone who has someone teaching them trading will have a better and faster grasp of trading than those who are self taught. However, let me quickly put it out here that mastering the art of trading from a mentor will depend on the technical know-how of the person mentoring one. If one's mentor is well grounded, definitely one is in a better position. If not, one will perpetually incur trading frustrations here and there. To succeed in trading requires experience. That's what having a mentor affords anyone.
3037  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Forex crypto stocks commodities wich one ? on: April 09, 2022, 10:25:16 AM
Forex crypto commodities stocks wich one of them are most easy to manipulate ?wich one of them can be not influenced by whales ? Or all of them influenced by whales?
In FX, except you're referring to the major trading banks; the ilks of Goldman Sachs, Citigroup, Deutche Bank, and Bank of America in such capacity. But that doesn't mean manipulation is far from them. When that happens it's called trading against the market. It's a situation where market sentiments are viewed and major players decide to go the opposite direction of what majority of traders are doing. There are traders who often accuse trading platforms/brokers of doing that. We know the crypto story and how influential quantity hodlers are in projects. It's even worse with altcoins which are new in the market. In all, Forex Trading is highly regulated and can't be compared to what happens in the loose crypto space. I don't have a vast knowledge in stocks as I haven't considered it an area of investment. In my view stocks is analogue that grinds slowly and doesn't pump up adrenaline like the other two.

Nonetheless, I think it's safer to conclude that since these businesses are run and controlled by man there's bound to be a certain level of manipulation and back door dealings. In all.
3038  Other / Meta / Re: How I can get high rank in BitcoinTalk ? on: April 09, 2022, 08:26:10 AM
lol, you were selling a Legendary rank bitcointalk account with 1300 merits, I am pretty sure you have an idea of how to increase your rank. anyway, I am curious who is this Legendary rank member with 1453 posts, 1300 merits and +7 trust.
I checked up OP's profile and saw what you meant by the above. It's no surprise that I've continued to maintain that most of these stories of, "I'm a newbie" or "I lost my Bitcoin" and all that blablabla stuff are often lies. Look at OP acting like they didn't know jack about how ranking up works but are already selling BTT and socal media accounts. It shows how deceitful OP is. Those of you advising OP on how to rank up, you're merely wasting your time. It's obvious the OP truly doesn't need it. They already know how to but are just trolling.
3039  Other / Meta / Re: Official unofficial forum logo on: April 09, 2022, 07:37:53 AM

I like that. At least it encompasses the "talk" in the forum. For me, that has to show because it's the essential of this forum. @ibminer's sample is also cool (even though it's from way back in 2019) as even quoted here by the same user above. Both logos show relevance to the forum in reference to the "talk" so to say. 👇
