A lot of Bitcoin are already lost; every day a lot of bits disappear and until 2140 many more will also vanish. This is not bad since it will only make the price go higher.
All bitcoins that are lost make the number of coins become even more scarce. The acceptable assumption would be that as more scarce it becomes, even more valuable will be as well.
But, if alternative currencies are going to be used as well wouldn't that cause an inflation even if the price of Bitcoin went very high?
Couldn't it be possible that people would start to use another less valuable cryptocurrency instead of bitcoin?

Keep in mind that some times computers are compromise via remote access to hackers so if you happen to have your f2a in your computer then that would help you at all, there is quite a good amount of options after that if your a security focus bitcoin user.
the wallet could have a cell phone mobile security step or a biometric verification before sending any funds.
Well now that you mention... where can I find that options? 2fa For a Desktop wallets I ain't heard about it yet! What I heard was about a company that could provide API access to their 2fa app. This could well be developed for any interested company. |

Bitcoin is not a Currency but it can work as if it was; it has the perfect design to turn it into a medium of exchange, making it the virtual Gold because of its scarcity! And by this, it means it is also a very good store of value.
However, it works pretty well as a currency since its extremely devisable and functional in terms of usability. Besides its completely decentralized which means that neither Banks nor governments can't control it!

The company who develops this will be surely a winner...

Blockchain.info uses 2FA, even tho it's not a proper local blockchain based Bitcoin wallet. Im actually surprised I can't think of any software based Bitcoin wallet that has 2FA. There must be a reason for it. Maybe liking your phone to your wallet compromises privacy?? Yes, it seems that this type of security for desktop wallets is underdeveloped... The developer or company who decide to design and put to work this type of product will surelly have a lot of profit! So, if you are a Developer, this is a good project for you to think about! |

In my Opinion, it is safer for you to have your coins on bitstamp than in your local wallet; at least they protect your coins with 2fa security.
The best wallet options 2 me are:
Online Wallet : Coinbase , XAPO, Kraken, Blockchain
Mobile : Mycelium, Mycelium, Mycelium
Desktop : Armory and Bitcoin Core
