3041  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Farmers world wide using Bitcoin on: April 25, 2016, 05:28:24 AM
Wow I didn't know that Overstock has a Farmers Market  Shocked I just found the tiny tab on the top and decided to check out what they are offering but the prices are so high I don't know if it's worth purchasing from Overstock. I guess it's expensive because it's organic produce and all but breakfast bundles with nothing special in them cost as mush as $70 what the heck? Do you know if someone is buying these as I am not from the USA just curious. Can you find better deals if you shop around in your local supermarkets?
3042  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Steam + Bitcoin = Confirmed ! on: April 25, 2016, 05:17:16 AM
First of all, PRAISE THE LORD GABEN Cheesy

Finally, the thing i've waited is confirmed. Using bitcoin to buy steam games would make it cheaper for me rather than buying it with steam wallet. I hope that this is implemented all around the world, not only the USA.

But by "using external payment provider" does it mean that they are using third-party?

Valve is most likely going to use BitPay to facilitate the Bitcoin purchases on Steam and I am waiting for BitPay officials to confirm or deny this it should be made clear in the coming days I guess. As for cheaper Steam games with Bitcoins I think Valve is going to charge people the exact same amount regardless of the method of purchasing so I fear we won't have any discounts if we use Bitcoin. I may be wrong though but Valve seems not to want to differentiate its customer base between Bitcoin and fiat that much.
3043  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Steam + Bitcoin = Confirmed ! on: April 24, 2016, 02:56:45 PM
I wonder if Valve will update the Steam client with Bitcoin payment option for all their customers worldwide or they will limit it only to US customers because I have heard rumors before they have been testing it only in the USA. So I would think Valve will launch this just in the USA at first as a pilot program and then expand it to other countries. I would love to use it from Europe as soon as possible and hope Valve decides to launch it worldwide right off the bat.
3044  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ever find an old wallet? on: April 24, 2016, 02:46:57 PM
You are very lucky mate  Grin Personally I don't do any backups and unfortunately I can't recover the clams I have on some of my old empty wallets from 2013 onward. I am kicking myself now for not safekeeping the private keys somewhere oh well lesson learned I guess. I am logging everything now on a password manager that can save notes and such crucial data. Do you guys think cloud storage is good for backups or an external drive is better?
3045  Economy / Economics / Re: what caused the increase in price of Bitcoin? on: April 24, 2016, 01:19:41 PM
The increase in the price of Bitcoin can be caused by many reasons. If people are buying more coins and spending less there will be a demand for more coins so the price will go up and vice versa if people are spending a lot of coins and don't buy new ones the supply will be much more than the demand and the price will go down because the market will be flooded with coins. Publicity can also push the price up or down for example the recent news that Valve is going to include Bitcoin in Steam had a positive effect on the price and honestly I think Steam was the reason for the $455 rise.
3046  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin adoption and it's future. on: April 24, 2016, 01:04:51 PM
I have real life friends that are into Bitcoin and I have online acquaintances from my country who are avid Bitcoin users as well. I haven't had the chance to attend any Bitcoin gatherings or conferences yet but I am planning to attend one if the right opportunity arises. We have Bitcoin ATM's and online retailers that accept Bitcoin but I would like to see some offline advertisement as well because right now it's pretty much non-existent.
3047  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin trusted to put your real money on: April 24, 2016, 12:42:24 PM
Yeah Bitcoin is as trusted as PayPal, Neteller or whatever else digital money payment processor you have in mind. It's basically digital money connected to a real world currency so it's essentially real money like fiat without the paper bills. Bitcoin can offer you higher interest rate than your savings bank account and less fees in transactions. Depending on the price of Bitcoin which tends to gradually increase one can reap great rewards from using it.
3048  Other / Off-topic / Re: What is your plan to get rich with Bitcoin? on: April 24, 2016, 11:10:56 AM
Yeah mate I think this is what everyone has been doing essentially and only time will tell if this plan fails or not. I am kinda upset that I missed the $1200 spike in price in 2013 and a lot of people got set for life and as the saying goes the early bird gets the worn  Grin Now I am not going to miss another massive pump and I will just sell before the balloon pops again because I don't know when the next one will be it may take years who knows.
3049  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to teach someone about Bitcoin on: April 24, 2016, 10:38:46 AM
I wouldn't refuse to explain Bitcoin to anyone if they asked me about it. After all we are the pioneers of this crypto coin money and it's our responsibility to spread awareness among people who are interested in learning about Bitcoin. And the greater our community becomes the greater chance that Bitcoin will become mainstream sooner is. And as we will have more Bitcoin users the price will increase as well it's a win-win situation for everyone.
3050  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why I use Bitcoin ??? on: April 24, 2016, 10:19:37 AM
Why people using btcs? Because it is first an people have most trust.
But this could probably be changed if appears better coin or at least they will share market cup.

from usability point of view (fees, speed etc), there are way better alternatives out there..

Can you elaborate some more on that statement please? Are you talking about other alt coins or some digital payment processor form the fiat world? I don't have a lot of experience with alt coins as I am not a trader and haven't researched anything for a long time but I would like to explore new alternatives with better benefits I am not aware of. For me, Bitcoin has been and always will be the flagship of crypto coins though.
3051  Economy / Gambling / Re: DirectBet Casino & Playing Wallet. 300% First Deposit Bonus up to 10 BTC ! on: April 24, 2016, 08:44:05 AM
Hello I have problems accessing my DirectBet wallet. I have it bookmarked on my browser and when I try to go there it just loads DirectBet website and nothing happens. It looks like the Casino tab is inactive as well is this the reason why the wallet doesn't work too because they are both connected? What can I do to access my playing wallet now? It's a real bummer  Huh
3052  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I got hacked , All my Bitcoin and Litecoin lost on: April 24, 2016, 07:47:41 AM
Yeah mate hackers are pretty smart with their schemes nowadays. I have gotten a lot of phishing emails too for a lot of websites I have accounts at. I sometimes wonder how they find my main email address and associated accounts as I am trying to limit its online exposure as much as possible for security reasons. And I don't know if hackers have gotten smarter or we have gotten more gullible but having a little common sense to stay away from obvious malicious attacks doesn't hurt either.
3053  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Tell me why Satoshi Nakamoto didn't spend a Satoshi from his 1 Mio BTC on: April 24, 2016, 07:33:13 AM
Satoshi Nakamoto whoever that is probably doesn't need a lot of money right now and if Satoshi wanted to liquidate his/her stash of coins that would have drawn all the public attention to him/her and would have endangered his/her privacy. There are a lot of Blockchain security experts monitoring the network so if Satoshi tries to cash in his/her fortune that would inevitably allow someone to match Satoshi's alias to a real name and face. And there are a lot of criminal organizations that would like to get hold of this Bitcoin stash so Satoshi better stay in the darkness if you ask me.
3054  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ever missed the chance of getting bitcoin at cheaper price? on: April 24, 2016, 07:18:28 AM
I have had a couple of opportunities to get cheaper Bitcoins when the price was below $100 which is not a massive discount considering some people have got thousands of coins for pennies but even comparing it to the current surge in price it would have been a nice profit should I have gone through with the purchase. The truth is I was afraid that I was going to lose my investment and that is my biggest regret. I guess success in life only favors the bold and I didn't seize the moment oh well   Undecided
3055  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin ATM - Owner lied about the fee on: April 24, 2016, 07:08:04 AM
If there are no stickers on the Bitcoin ATM warning you of the high fees and there are no on-screen prompts either I think this is borderline criminal activity and you are in your right to seek your lost money back in fees. You could videotape another smaller transaction just to display the misleading process and then show the footage to the local police or a news station or something. The ATM operator will land in hot water in no time because this is outright scamming.
3056  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Could bitcoin be hacked? on: April 24, 2016, 06:57:16 AM
Well it totally depends on how you have secured your wallets and computers in the first place. If you are neglecting your security and are downloading random stuff to your work machine where your wallet is installed your coins can be easily compromised. Personally I prefer using mostly online wallets and mobile wallets for my phones and haven't had any issues whatsoever till now but I am trying to steer clear of obvious scams like dubious email links and running weird exe files. Anything of value could be stolen from you not only Bitcoin if there are no preventive measures in place to thwart the attackers.
3057  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The "All In" or "Bank" Challenge! (Comment and I'll do it) on: April 22, 2016, 04:48:58 PM
I suggest placing all-in bets on picks you are very confident in and bank bets on less confident picks so in the event that you lose you would still have something left in your bankroll to fall back on. However you may lose everything following even the best tipsters on the forum so be careful and good luck to you in your endeavor.
3058  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I got hacked , All my Bitcoin and Litecoin lost on: April 22, 2016, 04:40:31 PM
OP I think someone close to you knows that you don't have proper security on your Bitcoin wallet and laptop and managed to steal everything from you. I don't know why you decided to keep your whole stash on your work machine but with a sum that big I think your best bet would be to contact the police immediately. There are digital forensics experts who can help you.
3059  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: At no time does Valve receive or hold bitcoin, pay us in traditional currency on: April 22, 2016, 04:32:21 PM
I think Valve are going to use BitPay to receive payments in Bitcoin and get local currency to their bank accounts. There is no incentive for them to receive Bitcoin directly because it may lose value after the payment is done by the customers and Valve will lose money effectively. Looks like we will get the fiat face value of the games in Bitcoin. I have hoped for a little discount though.
3060  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [ NEW VIRUS ] THIS ADDY GETS PASTED : 19ZM2pjq6U4jVb283GZkCPNukjeyb2YZ2u on: April 22, 2016, 04:27:50 PM
Ouch I haven't encountered this kind of malware before but it looks like a nasty and sneaky way of losing your coins if you don't pay attention to what address does appear before sending the coins. Do you know what may have caused this malicious thing to happen? I don't think it's a virus it's probably some script running in your background processes.
