Hello guys, so recently i am into mining and i remember i tried mining burst weeks ago but realised with 500gb hdd, it will not net me any profit.

So i am guessing to invest into HDD for a total of 10-20TB perhaps.

My country is based in Malaysia.

Is there any great and cheap external HDD which i can mine with my laptop that you guys can suggest me?

In my country

An average of 4TB external HDD will cost me around $13x - $15x

Anyhow, is mining burst with HDD worth?

Thank you!
i'm going to wait for some expert to answer this question of yours mate, as i also wanted to invest with mining this coin i just don't have any idea if how long it will take me to get my roi and what will be a good set up using only i7 laptop hope someone can guide us so we can start the process, thanks in advance guys.

Requoting for awareness, hope someone can help us Smiley
3042  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: I have $40,000 USD, Can I buy miners? on: March 09, 2017, 02:56:32 PM
Hi Folks!

Is there any site that can supply alot of miners?

I'm thinking of buy like 500x miners and place them in my house and buy a solar energy to get the power plugged with the miners

How much I can make from those? And it is good idea?

Need info, thanks!

Well it depends, but i would suggest you to mine with GPU instead of Asic miners and mining other coins instead of bitcoin.

Anyhow, the latest antminer s9 prove to have a very good hash power per watt and the ROI is good yet, difficulty on bitcoin mining is rising very fast so imo, going GPU mining for Ethereum or any other coin would be a better choice Smiley

3046  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: TOKES Platform Signature and Other Bounties thread on: March 09, 2017, 09:46:49 AM
As you may already heard TOKES was not in control of distribution of TOKES for bounties or ICO funds.

Our ICO closed on January 15th, and our investors are still waiting[Today being March 7th] on distributions/bounties to be processed by the INCENT team.

Tokes has terminated our relationship with INCENT due to poor, unsatisfactory, and inadequate performance. Within 2 Weeks of ICO Close, bounties were all tabulated and sent over to the INCENT Team.

TOKES team apologize for delaying, but this was 100% out of our hands due to the fact that tokes team did not handle distribution. We hope to resolve this soon as INCENT sends remaining reserve tokes to KOV. But until then please stand by, we are doing our best,TOKES TEAM is waiting on INCENT team to send over all TOKES reserve, so that we can distribute.

Thanks alot for the clarification, i guess they didn't really distribute the tokes token well as they just randomly sent a fix amount of tokens to the signature campaign participants and they haven't sent out reward for articles.

Hope everything could be resolve! Guess all this happens is due to communication within parties
3047  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / GPU Mining Rigs - Ethereum mining or Hash Renting on: March 09, 2017, 04:50:28 AM
Lets say if i wanted to get a new desktop for the purpose of mining + gaming

Mining hardware i am getting most probably : AMD RX 480 8GB x 2
As building from scratch, i might also use it for gaming purpose
What i should consider prioritizing when building the new desktop?

As most likely i will be getting something like

  • Processor : Not really sure (Perhaps I5 as the ghz would be okay to go)
  • Ram : 8GB is sufficient i guess
  • Graphic : As mentioned above, i guess the gpu itself can handle on it
  • Storage : SSHD 1Tera, as i need to store my files too

And how much approximately i will be spending to built the entire mining setup? Budget : Rm4000 / $1000 +-

1) Other than mining, i will use it for video editing and gaming, what hardware should i be prioritizing?

2) Other than AMD RX 480 8GB x2, is there any better cost efficient hardware which provides more hash power per kwh?

3) My country is based in malaysia, can you specify all the hardware rigs component by component for me? Thanks (If you have time)

4) Is there anything i still need to be consider while building this?
3048  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What are the most promising Altcoins of 2017 and how to get them? on: March 08, 2017, 03:39:36 PM
My vote goes toward ICN!

They have their own index fund and in the future there will be open fund management platform.

Currently this year ICN Invested in Santiment, Golem, and few other very successful ICO

I couldn't find the index showed but i remember there's a link for it Smiley
3049  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: 🌟🔴 ICOBID PLATFORM RELEASED 🌟🔴 GREAT REWARD 🌟🔴 HOLDING FOR REVENUE SHARE on: March 08, 2017, 08:52:20 AM

Sorry for the delay in responding to community's requests.

Because of ICOBID ico's failure, I'm staying alone to continue project without enough funding and team's members.

However, I'm still trying my best to bring all icobid's concepts to reality.

Till the end of this month, I will announce an important plan of ICOBID project in short-term and long-term development.

I haven't done anything to keep control ICOBID'S price until now. I wanted to let markets' traders decide ICOBID price.
However, ICOBID'S price have continously dropped. Then I will do some meaningful actions to support ICOBID's price.
Price supporting action will be done around the time I announce new plan.

Thank you for all your support!

Hey Dev, tbh even if i don't make money or even loss my money on your project, i am glad to be with this project.
Because of your sincerity and honesty, it's the best thing of how a developer lead the coin's community
Thanks for your honesty and good luck in your future plan

Together we stand Smiley
3050  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Expected price of ICONOMI? on: March 08, 2017, 08:49:21 AM
Yes, I would recommend any investor to look into ICN tokens as they can give good returns in a year or two. There has been a delay in the platform release, but better late than never and it is best to take time and make a good platform than releasing a bad, buggy platform quickly and disappointing the early investors.

There are so many fuds going on for now. I would choose to avoid them and stay invested. If you are an early investors and can't take risk, then book partial profits and hold on to the rest for maximum gains.

Gotta agree with this statement, due to my watch setting towards the icn thread, whenever i look on the thread, you could always see FUD there, not sure whether the intention is to get people sell low and they bought low or just wanted to get some post count.

Anyhow In my opinion, the expected price can reach $1-2 but it will be taking quite some time as dividends tokens take time to prove if they could benefit for the holders Smiley
3051  Other / Off-topic / Re: How are you earning BTC? on: March 08, 2017, 08:47:23 AM
As right now, i don't earn but spent btc by investing in coins for long term.

But i can say despite of my mistake of not doing a proper research, i've lost more than $1000 in ico, coins in trading and so.
3052  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN] OPAIR | Unmoderated thread on: March 08, 2017, 08:45:06 AM
Opair dev ran away confirmed and i am still holding the $200 worth of opair.

3054  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ETF POLL APPROVAL / REJECTION on: March 07, 2017, 11:26:40 AM
IMO, i voted yes as reason stated below.

- It is slowly accepted by different countries
- It has a very good use as a transact method, no email verification, details, just address and go
- It seems to be a better currency compare via paypal, people even pay off paypal for btc at preev rate 5-10%
3055  Economy / Service Discussion / Hashocean? | Point of view on Cloud mining ? | Hardware mining | on: March 06, 2017, 03:19:49 PM
Sorry if there's tons of questions in a post, just answer what you know about it  Cheesy

Hashocean Questions
1)How long did the website has actually operates?

2)As its been accused on running on ponzi scheme, which means there are no actual miner? Or they Did have the miner but due to bitcoin halving they sold everything and run?

Cloud Mining Questions
3)Do you believe cloud mining could run long term?

4)Across these, Genesis mining, nicehash, hashnest, do you people consider all of them legit? If yes why, if no, why?

Hardware mining questions
Example : Specifications Antminer S5
Hash Rate: 1155 GH/s
Power Consumption: 560 to 590 W
Power Efficiency: 0.51 J/GH
Electricity Price : $0.15/kwh

If i am running the antminer for a month 24/7

5)How can i calculate how much electricity $ i should pay per month?

6)If it produce 1155 GH per second, does it means it will uses 590 Watt every second? or how does the power Watt be calculated?

7)How is the Power efficiency calculated?
3056  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: HASHNEST Discussion and Support Thread on: March 06, 2017, 02:58:33 PM
Hello for people who used hashnest, is the service and ROI Good?

As after reading multiple post regarding mining, the electric rate in my country doesn't seems profitable if i mine with hardware itself, thinking to hop over to cloud mining, but before that need some testimonials

Thanks!
3057  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to know about next pump? on: March 06, 2017, 02:53:13 PM
Speculation / News

Then, if you are able to read the candlestick charts well you will know

Certainly, if you see a very long and green candlestick charts, it shows that the buying volume is huge and people are trying to push the price upwards Smiley
3058  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: 🌟🔴 ICOBID PLATFORM RELEASED 🌟🔴 GREAT REWARD 🌟🔴 HOLDING FOR REVENUE SHARE on: March 06, 2017, 02:47:22 PM
Don't think dev went scam tho, as this idea is generally released during the old time.

Dev has already been focusing and trying to deliver the platform as this idea is quite a good one but just that the crowdfund didn't went really well

So, Good luck on development Smiley
3059  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Mutual Fund, Index Fund, ETF, BTC ETF? on: March 06, 2017, 05:59:38 AM
Before i start, hope i get this right

1)Mutual Fund = A fund where gather lots of money from multiple parties, and invest in either stocks or bond or even both, whole fund trading is perform by fund manager.

2)Index Fund = Fund that is invest in the entire index like the top500 stocks in US, or something, operates by fund manager too.

3)ETF = Similar like a Mutual Fund, but instead of investing to companies, it is traded on exchanges, works like how mutual works.

Am i right regarding on all this?

Then,

BTC ETF = A fund that is available on a specific exchange, the allocate fund will be invested into btc and the profit will come from the trading of bitcoin itself and distribute to the ETF holder within a specific timeframe.

Am i right on this?

Therefore Bitcoin ETF from winklevoss will be only trading on Bitcoin but not other coins right?

Thanks!
