3041  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The biggest battle for Bitcoin's life is coming on: June 21, 2021, 10:30:53 PM
This is hardly one of those epic battles. This is just another price adjustment.

Exactly.

Bitcoin does not care about its price.
3042  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The Bitcointalk Urban Achievers Merit Scholarship Program on: June 21, 2021, 09:06:21 PM
Congratulations to the incoming class (outgoing class?) of Merit Achiever Scholarships. You have demonstrated promising potential that you are not only willing to achieve but able to achieve.

Unfortunately I ran out of certificates so you're all going to have to share one:

According to my calculations BIT-BENDER only needed 20 merits to level up to Hero, congrats! Everybody else got 50, and can get up to 50 more in a month. Just remind me when the 30 days are up.

And we are now at full scholarship capacity so I must lock the thread for the time being.

For those who didn't get accepted, just remember this quote from our spiritual leader, Jeffrey "The Big" Lebowski:

"Strong men also cry."

3043  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you feel happy on getting merits ? on: June 21, 2021, 09:07:32 AM
Most time I get tired posting in the forum because I have never gotten any merit. Since merit is away of encouraging member to keep posting quality post. I will be happy when I shall be given merit and that will makes me to be more dedicated in the forum.

Please leave.

Really this is what the forum has come to now where this kind of stuff gets to stay up... because the poster found a way to brainlessly shitpost without breaking any rules.

I'm starting to think this forum should be called Merittalk.
3044  Other / Meta / Re: Is The Purpose of The Merit System Defeated? on: June 21, 2021, 01:50:07 AM

Nobody's saying you can't be here. I'm not stopping you from asking away about anything. You don't seem to be interested in anything other than forum mechanics and telling people what they should do. And you're definitely not a newbie.

Oh shit, it's a triple "Sir" type member.  Well, at least we know he's an aspiring bounty hunter and probably has another account with which he's already earning turd tokens.  What he's doing with the KingsDen account, I have no idea.

It can only be the result of one thing.

3045  Other / Meta / Re: Is The Purpose of The Merit System Defeated? on: June 20, 2021, 08:57:14 PM

Isn't it great that we have this leadership-charged generation of newbies  Roll Eyes incoming to remind us of what we should or shouldn't be doing.

I'm bleedingly late with work but this is too weird to just ignore. This is your first post.

I made this post in two categories; first to encourage the newbie and second to advice the old members.

Why would you do that? You weren't even a Newbie at that point as you hadn't posted yet. You were Brand New.  Not only is it highly unlikely as a Brand New user that you have advice to give "old members" of the forum, but you should realize that coming hot out of the gate with this approach

1) reflects a dismissal of the knowledge or competence of every single forum member with one or more posts
2) suggests you're not actually a Newbie.

Here's a couple secrets for not getting caught right away next time:

 - Don't start posting instructions on what the forum should be doing right out the gate, in your very first post. Usually a first post is something like "Titcoin to the moon!" or... "Why won't my Electrum wallet connect to the internet?" or even "Hey what the hell happened to my shipment of Black Arrow miners???"
 - Don't start posting in Meta right away or engage in obvious merit-seeking behavior. It means you have developed an understanding of where people post and what they post in order to get merits, in all likelihood due to prior experience with the forum.

For the Old members, I will liken the forum to a building from foundation to roofing.
The building at the foundation stage does not make it less building, but it is the stage at which the engineer puts much efforts and expertise. Take the newbie as the foundation, help us grow, for if the foundation is wrongly laid, it will have a significant negative effects at the completion stage.

OK KingsDen, I will take your message to heart. You sir, however, are no Newbie, sir.

Good Day.

Haha actually I'm not mad if you want to carry on, its entertaining. Couldn't quite find the GIF to express myself but close enough.
3046  Economy / Exchanges / Re: LiveCoin.net >Buy/Sell/Exchange>New pairs:BVK/BTC,APOD/BTC,KTETH/BTC on: June 20, 2021, 08:22:37 AM
I don't know exactly what I had in my wallet. Between 0,5 to 1 BTC which was 20,000 usd.
Obviously we all lose in this business and it is likely that Livecoin tries to distribute as best as possible.
In any case I am satisfied and thank Livecoin again for reimbursing me for this first part while waiting for the 2nd

Whatever you say bud.

If you actually supplied them with your personal information, you're gonna have a lot bigger problems than a red trust to worry about. Hope it was worth it.
3047  Other / Meta / Re: Is The Purpose of The Merit System Defeated? on: June 20, 2021, 07:15:13 AM
I was new then, I could not get up after understanding the rules. Now I have fully understood the rules. Will you think a little about your trust? Can you see my profile again?
my profile: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=3332840

No, you weren't new then. You keep coming back under new accounts. The first thing you do is look for merit.

Your (new) first post is telling another member with 480 posts what they should be doing.

Your second post is telling people not to copy/paste.

You haven't spent enough time learning about Bitcoin or the forum to add anything of value here.

Try harder.

3049  Economy / Exchanges / Re: LiveCoin.net >Buy/Sell/Exchange>New pairs:BVK/BTC,APOD/BTC,KTETH/BTC on: June 19, 2021, 08:33:48 PM
For answer to Nutildah and condoras
I just made a mistake.
I thought I would never be reimbursed, except I was reimbursed 50% for the moment.
My point of view has changed, that's all ...
I removed my posts and thank you for removing yours last post

Earlier you said - multiple times - that you had lost 1 BTC. Now you're settling for 5700 USDT and referring to it as "50%." Sorry, nobody here believes you. If you don't have time to explain it, even better.

3051  Economy / Reputation / Re: Bitconnect Meme still alive? [ft. Carlos Matos] on: June 19, 2021, 08:13:17 PM
All the financial ruin is beyond heartbreaking, but all the deaths even more so. Have you guys seen this insanely sad/crazy story?

Does this not look like a face you can trust?

Projects like Bitconnect are douchebag magnets. They draw the worst society has to offer all together under one roof.

Really no different than 95% of all ICOs: just a chance for con artists to work together and really shine. There's gonna be fallout in the form of criminal charges for scams that took place in 2017-2018, for years to come.
3052  Economy / Reputation / Re: I did NOT ROB 25000 coins from AllInVain - please stop the harassment on: June 19, 2021, 08:03:57 PM
It's a rather amazing story worth learning about. Treachery, obsession, international espionage, the takedown of an Anonymous sect, it has a lot going on.

Meanwhile allinvain hasn't logged in yet, so there's nothing new to add to the tail end of the saga.

i am not involved in any of those activities - while my name leaked in 2011/2012 i did not know i was under some sort of investigation unlit 2 months ago

Yes I understand that and just mentioned those parts because its part of what makes it a fascinating tale. Sorry to hear your "friend" still hasn't quite gotten over his loss (after 10 years) but at least they stopped harassing you.

thank you, to the members still investigating this matter for hearing me out and understanding the situation.

Sure, glad things came to a peaceful resolution.
3053  Economy / Exchanges / Re: LiveCoin.net >Buy/Sell/Exchange>New pairs:BVK/BTC,APOD/BTC,KTETH/BTC on: June 18, 2021, 09:08:21 PM
Hello to everyone,

My name and username in Livecoin: "zeghers"

I am proud to announce that the Livecoin team has paid the first 50% of my payout.

Thank you very much to the Livecoin team.

I request my remaining 50% balance to be processed.

TX :  0x480003044faad6523f77e0960c2687fab323c883ff8eae8ef9014c1d9bc7f154

Wait a minute, aren't you the guy who repeatedly posted a link to that fantastic site for Livecoin victims to upload their personal information so they can get their funds back? Why yes indeed, you are.

Why did you delete most of those posts when they paid so little of what they owe you? Let me refresh your memory, earlier you said you had lost 1 BTC on Livecoin. It was a lot of money for you, you couldn't sleep, had a bad Christmas, etc.

Now all the sudden 5,702 USDT is considered "50%" of your payout?

Can you explain to the readers why getting back less than 1/6 of what you are owed is something that you are "proud to announce"?

Just curious.
3054  Economy / Reputation / Re: I did NOT ROB 25000 coins from AllInVain - please stop the harassment on: June 17, 2021, 10:09:30 PM
After reading through your posts, I still don't really understand what's going on. All of the topics you linked to are from 10 years ago, but they seem to have something to do with you today. Could you please be more clear? Why do the problems of 10 years ago affect you now? Although someone can lie, but this forum is anonymous, how does it affect you and your family now? the situation you gave is really ambiguous

He answered most of your questions in this thread already, though some of it is a bit convoluted. Obviously this is a serious matter to this person. You should inform yourself of what is going on. There's a ridiculous amount of information on what happened out there. I spent at least an hour refreshing my memory on the subject before writing a post here.

This is your starting point:

I just got hacked - any help is welcome! (25,000 BTC stolen)

It's a rather amazing story worth learning about. Treachery, obsession, international espionage, the takedown of an Anonymous sect, it has a lot going on.

Meanwhile allinvain hasn't logged in yet, so there's nothing new to add to the tail end of the saga.
3055  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Dingocoin - POW (Scrypt) DINGO - Wild Doge Parody on: June 17, 2021, 09:54:33 PM
You see that the dingo project is developing very well, and you don't have this currency. . You are jealous. . . So you hack him

Yep I hacked it but the code was so genius that I just let it be and didn't change anything.

Don't worry bro. You won't hear from me anymore. And you're welcome for the free bump.
3056  Economy / Reputation / Re: Bitconnect Meme still alive? [ft. Carlos Matos] on: June 17, 2021, 10:57:30 AM
In my experience people participating in MLM schemes don't have a good reputation, I had to get one, my friend, away from an MLM company that was selling Aloe Vera products but the sad part is my friend was bad... very bad at selling stuff and in the end he tanked me.

Yep MLMs are pretty awful and unfortunately a lesson best learned first hand.

Herbalife has been in business for pretty much all of my adult life. I would never have anything to do with them, but at least they're not Bitconnect, which created nothing. You can't even rub Bitconnect on your skin.
3057  Economy / Reputation / Re: Bitconnect Meme still alive? [ft. Carlos Matos] on: June 17, 2021, 10:46:24 AM
I was in the mood to watch this, or at least part of it, and I have to say, I forgive Carlos. He's pretty human, made a mistake, and we should forgive him... Last I heard he was into Herbalife, which is a step in the right direction, if only a baby step. Its hard to be mad at him after this though.

He's contributed so much joy to the world in the way of meme form after all.

This one gets my adrenaline going:

3058  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: safex is a scam on: June 17, 2021, 09:25:06 AM
I saw Daniel Dabek was at the Miami conference targeting victims trying to corner them and then brain wash them with his SAFEX scam, but he was unsuccessful.

This type of douchebaggery in crypto needs to come to an end. It encourages the wrong people to get into crypto for the wrong reasons and gives the rest of us a bad name.

You've done a lot of great work here and I hope to expand on it a bit when I have some spare time.
3059  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Dingocoin - POW (Scrypt) DINGO - Wild Doge Parody on: June 17, 2021, 08:34:44 AM
This isn't a "parody" of Dogecoin, its an extremely lazy ripoff.

You just copied the Dogecoin website word-for-word, replacing the word "Doge" with "Dingo".

This has already been done 10 times this year.

OP should be tagged as a scammer on principle, but if someone is actually stupid enough to buy this coin, well they would have lost their money pretty quickly anyway, so have at it retards...

2 Accounts Connected: (Note: Banned shown in red / Inactive in Blue / Active profile (in ordinary link colour))

squall1066, HardyGoodsLtd

You're actually on to something here.

squall rage quit after being insulted by TECSHARE during a bidding dispute.

The two accounts have a lot of interaction:

#5@1.1  - providing I can use squall as proxy, I will pay directly, but I am moving, I will be watching if you accept my bid.

Ended last night  Roll Eyes

PM coming your way HardyGoodsLtd

#87 0.133
#60 0.134

I am sure you just edited in a bid, fortunately for you it was not in snipe zone (I am watching), but please dont do that, as its not fair to other bidders

yeeer, sorry, I did edit shortly after my bid on one coin, as I was not being outbid and plenty of time I did not want to double post

its lost on me, wanna let me in on the joke?

ending today, no further announcements from me

1.41

winning so far, good luck all.

ESCROW IS ACCEPTED!!! my preferred are ognasty, minerjones, squall1066, yogg, but any others are with my approval.

This one is funny.

ignore quotes lol, I was using old auction as template and forgot to remove quotation code  Roll Eyes

lol, yes you know me well.

so I will start at 0.01

awesome thanks, it will save me a bit on postage if you win.

It's kind of like he's being clever to himself. He was also using his alt to drive bids up and vouch for himself.  Roll Eyes

Another pop at 0.014

daily bump, your winning.

same again, I probably wont have time to bump again so best of luck all.

Also, squall could be a "she", sorry for misgendering you.

...

squall1066 passed on your info to me so she can vouch for me if thats what you need

...

that was fast^^

sure I will look you over, thanks

Awesome, squall came and dropped it off, talk about service.

Thanks alot.

Ooh... here's squall bidding on a HardyGoods auction.

1.41

daily bump, winning so far, ends tomorrow afternoon

Also, both accounts like to start posts by saying "hiya all"... both are from Midlands UK... both don't like to capitalize beginnings of sentences... It's worth checking to see if HardyGoods has any alts bidding on his current auctions. After a cursory glance I found none. But I pass off the torch to someone else at this point.
