Use NXT maybe?

It has a very robust asset trading system. I`m not sure if fits their goal but i`ve seen there assets that are worth millions of dollars.
3042  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: November 19, 2015, 10:47:05 PM

I agree with this.

The issue is that I can see the other side of the coin and not rushing to release new code that is not tested well.

There is so much going on under the hood of XMR that to hook everything up in such a way that it could be used in say electrum would take a lot of work to get right without any exploits/bugs/ etc. ....even goes the same for creating a GUI.

I think making sure the foundation of the code base is SOUND is of utmost importance.

Well sure, but a lightweight client hardly needs to adapt to the core client, only the servers running it have to.

For example electrum doesnt have to put out a new update for every bitcoin core client update, only if the protocol changes.

Yes a sound code is important you want a good foundation, however correct me if i`m wrong , but on the github page there havent been a new release since december 2014, how come?

A true and accurate characterization of the human female woman - by a renowned Bitcoin intellectual:

...attracted to: Wealthy guys, Fashion , Beauty, Chit-chat gossip, Parenting,..."

Notice the peculiar omission of: 'cryptography nerd with too many zits'.

So you deny that women are attracted to: Wealthy guys, Fashion , Beauty, Chit-chat gossip, Parenting,...?

Feel free to donate to them generously (they've been around for awhile)
Yes that is nice, this website needs more attention.

We need charities that work only on bitcoin, because we can then emphasize to the world that bitcoin can be used for good too, despite the many evil things happening around it.

Never mind #10 ?
It is practically it's own answer.

I still dont understand what the problem is with 10?

Was my wording too harsh? I dont want to offend any groups here, I`m just speaking the truth.
3044  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: November 19, 2015, 10:15:33 PM

Are you aware the fluffypony has worked on Electrum?

https://github.com/spesmilo/electrum/commits?author=fluffypony

The idea of just copying the source code for Electrum is not viable since the architecture of the underlying coin is quite different, unlike Bitcoin fork coins. Some ideas from Electrum can be applied to Monero lightweight wallets though.

Well obviously they are not compatible , Monero has different architecture than bitcoin.

However a similar looking software, lightweight, could be done for Monero too in a given amount of time, by competent programmers.

This would be a serious advance of Monero, and it will definitely enter in the top 10 after.

It could even challange Bitcoin, if it would be more easy to use.
3045  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ● Why Bitcoin is Not Mainstream Yet & my Suggestions! ● on: November 19, 2015, 09:55:53 PM

You are calling yourself an "intellectual" and those who have opposing opinions "idiots".

You use the term "truth" as if you know the difference between truth and your own opinion? You don't seem to know the difference.

An intellectual is capable of open discussion.
Are you capable of that?

I am for open discussion here, what aspect of my post do you want to discuss.

So far we discussed all questions here in a civilized way except a few trolls that come by here and start insulting people.

good list but i suggest change gambling Reliability to medium there are many people who use btc to gamble

Yes I agree, i changed it.

Gambling might be high risk, but it's definitely relieable since there are many casinos out there, and it will be a real industry around here.

Every day new casinos come out and the competition is big, so gamblers have a big choice.

Damnit too many criticizers, but atleast they point out the weaknesses in my arguments, which I`m glad for. For this to be a good message we need to make it useable by anybody.
Anybody?  Even the human females?  I don't think they will understand anything.

Yes even women , do you have a problem with that?

Or you dont wish women to join bitcoin?
3048  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ● Why Bitcoin is Not Mainstream Yet & my Suggestions! ● on: November 19, 2015, 07:16:19 PM
Actually, those kinds of posts are beneficial, even if they are meant to make fun of me.

I`ve changed the wording of my OP so that people should not have wrong impressions about the message being told here. I especially changed POINT 10, people thought there that my point was too extreme, but look it's the truth.

Women need to find interesting things in bitcoin and to meet with men, these are facts, so you only make fun of yourselves by stating otherwise.

I changed the wording, so that now it focuses more on the message and less about the form.

Will Monero get in touch with Ethereum developers, or get the ethereum source code and create a similar lightweight wallet?
....

In due time.  The beta version needs to become a release version, and then libraryization.  Once that happens, I think we'll see a variety of wallets both official and non-official.  We'll probably even see one funded via the Monero forum....
Will Monero get in touch with Ethereum developers, or get the ethereum source code and create a similar lightweight wallet?

It would be nice to see some lightweight clients being done for monero. Preferably similar to Ethereum since its already familiar in the bitcoin space.

Can anybody confirm or deny this?

Maybe there was some discussion I missed? What is the connection between Ethereum and lightweight wallets?

Looks like a indirect troll post to me.

Oops, what I meant to say was ELECTRUM, not Ethereum.

Fuck, they sound so similar.

So is there any plan to get ELECTRUM lightweight client developers to work on Monero, or copy the source code of it and implement it to Monero so that we can have lightweight clients in Monero?
3050  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ● Why Bitcoin is Not Mainstream Yet & my Suggestions! ● on: November 19, 2015, 06:43:29 PM
Hi, friend. I'm just passing by to let you know that your ideas are already receiving some approval by prominent participants in the bitcoin space.

https://www.reddit.com/r/Buttcoin/comments/3tfog1/a_bitcoin_intellectual_has_some_ideas_on_how_to/

Approval? That thread looks like a demonization or some kind of making fun of my arguments.

It's really sad, reddit is full of idiots. In fact that whole subreddit is some kind of joke, I`m not sure.

Just ignore it, we have important discussions to talk about there.

3052  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ● Why Bitcoin is Not Mainstream Yet & my Suggestions! ● on: November 19, 2015, 04:27:47 PM
I think you bring up a lot of good reasons.  My biggest thing is there are tons of people out there no matter what you do you are not going to convince them to ever use Bitcoin.  They might not have a computer, or the tech savvy to actually use Bitcoin.  That is something that will be fixed with time which is sort of crude to say but true.

Yes that is true, however those people are not really useful innovators anyway so they dont really matter in the economy as much.

The ones we need to convince to use it are usually:  teenagers, young adults, 30-40 year olds who are good consumers or come from middle class, 40+ who are middle class, consumers who shop alot , maybe later workers who want to be paid in bitcoin, artists, inventors, investors, wealthy, and probably the elite too.

There are many groups that are more interesting than just average Joe that minds his own life and doesnt care about anything that goes around him.
3053  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ● Why Bitcoin is Not Mainstream Yet & my Suggestions! ● on: November 19, 2015, 02:35:32 PM
May be time has not come yet? Social networks, mobile phones have become popular due to heavy advertising and due to its relevance. On the contrary the goal of modern marketing is the promotion and sale of unnecessary things to the ordinary consumer.

But it's effective nontheless.

Why not use this tool then?   The old analogy with campfire vs oven.
3054  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling can be profitable in the long run! It is possible! on: November 19, 2015, 02:00:43 PM
Its rare for a casino to go bankrupt. They usually only go bankrupt when the economy is down. But even if there is a large whale, the 99.5% of all losers will cover his wins anyways.

Not sure about that, there are studies that show that when the economy is down, people gamble way more.

Maybe out of desperation (they try to recover their lost money from the bad economy) or just because they dont have anything else to do.

So gambling is one of the only industries that is recession/depression proof.
3055  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ● Why Bitcoin is Not Mainstream Yet & my Suggestions! ● on: November 19, 2015, 01:58:13 PM
i don't think you need to advertise it like it is a brand of clothes or something, bitcoin is money it will advertise it self, if people want to use it

for when they need it, it will grow alone, people are already aware about bitcoin the problem is that they have choosen deliberately to not use it for whatever reason, security, customers protection etc...

I`m not saying we should manipulate them.

I`m saying we should only increase awareness. Most people havent even took the time to check out bitcoin.org
3056  Other / Off-topic / Re: [CONFIRMED] Flat Earth on: November 19, 2015, 02:20:37 AM
Not only is the Earth flat, the whole universe is too https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Holographic_principle.

Not only that but the brains of the string theorists are. I`m not an expert in physics, but i`m sure that some complicated fantasy and mathematical assuptions do not translate to reality. I like how scientists come up with vague and complex fantasies and then push that through as if they were some facts.

After you got 1 lie, you build another one on it and so on. The whole string theory crumbles, its a house of cards.
3057  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: November 19, 2015, 02:09:46 AM

I was necessarily promoting to buy gold or anything. I was just saying based on the past history, any legit form of currency is backed by gold or silver. When the fiat system collapses, you need some kind of ratio to judge how much something is worth.. I think it will be gold

I think bitcoin is the new benchmark.

You cannot have a commodity basket because they are all manipulated, to my knowledge bitcoin has small manipulation and decreasing volatility.

Despite scammers, looks like the gold certificate scam is far bigger than any crypto scam can imagine to be.
3058  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ● Why Bitcoin is Not Mainstream Yet & my Suggestions! ● on: November 19, 2015, 01:17:06 AM
The main problem is the public ignorance of bitcoin. There is no unified approach to advertise the bitcoin so the general public will know about bitcoin. The bitcoin foundation does not much in this area.

Advertising Bitcoin right now is not a good idea. The software is still in the very early stages, look at the number version we are at... we also aren't ready to adopt massive amounts of people. It's best to stay under the radar for now.

Of course it is? What are we waiting for  for developers to settle? They never will.

There are many bitcoin storages available, only tech people use bitcoin core.

I think now is the time to advertise more than ever!
3059  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2015-11-18]Your kids will not know what money is, Says Apple CEO on: November 18, 2015, 11:06:20 PM
Uh, my kids will. They will certainly know better than to trust a walled garden with their money. Obviously they will be using bitcoin and showing Tim Cook that he does not know what money is.

So money is a fiat ponzi scam that is 1 piece of paper that is only valueble until the gov says so, and can be systematically and automatically stolen at any speedrate from you?

Nah, thats no way to preserve capital.Only Bitcoin and precious metals Smiley
3060  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2015-11-17] Is Bitcoin Only For Crooks And Cheats? on: November 18, 2015, 11:03:34 PM
t isn’t every day that University of Chicago economists Eugene Fama and Richard Thaler see eye to eye. Fama, who won the Nobel Prize in 2013, is one of the best known proponents of the efficient market hypothesis. Thaler, in contrast, champions behavioral economics. Indeed, Thaler spends a great deal of time criticizing the efficient market hypothesis in his recent book, Misbehaving.

Both economists, however, seem to be on the same side when it comes to bitcoin. Commenting on Fama’s recent interview with the Bitcoin Uncensored podcast, Thaler tweets: “Must say I agree with Fama here. Only value of bitcoin seems to be to crooks& [sic] tax cheats. Negative social value.”

Just lost all my respect for this new nobel prize winner.Let's reverse that logic "Fiat money is only for loan scammers, fraudsters and money forgers"

Oops, that statement is actually correct Cheesy
