3041  Economy / Economics / Re: Getting things off your list. on: November 02, 2021, 05:47:05 AM
Well, I'd reckon it's also something that would help you get it off of your mind, though honestly before considering the price, I'd really consider trying to identify whether that stuff are needed or not though, like create a priority list or something similar. Though it is still advantageous if you're able to tick off some stuff that you really want off your list in the long run. There's still some risks involved but as long as it's properly planned out I don't think there's anything wrong with that.

That's such a broad "advice" that it could mean multiple things.

If you meant that just buy that thing asap just to get it done with, then prooobably not a good idea.

On the other hand, if you meant buy that thing if you already have enough savings for a rainy day, that your finances are already managed really well, and that you've already done your monthly DCA investment, then probably; sure.
Well, I'd reckon the list was already made with each one having their own priority in mind.
3042  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Don't lose your profit unnecessarily on: November 01, 2021, 09:02:57 AM
I don't actively wait for profits, nor do I regret losing out on what could've been. I instead look at what I could get after each action and so on. It's really hard to get out of that loop of "what if" once you start looking into it, so I try to not do it, at all. I take profits when I can (or when I want to) and that's it, I don't look back into what it could've been because the action's already been done, I don't want it to influence my future trades that much. It's really up to your strategy really on when you think you'd actually "profit" or not.
3043  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Going for the Underdog or Not? on: November 01, 2021, 07:37:18 AM
If the underdog really needs to win or they will come to fight with all their powers , then yes , you can bet on the underdog but if this 2 are not present ...I would stay away from them. Remember that anyone can trow games even if they don't realize it ...it's just pure basic things that happens to all of us so from time to time big teams or the favorites will lose and the underdog will come on top OR the favorite is getting a bad day and underdog are now at the same level with the favorites...then yes , another great option to go for underdog but how often is this happening ? Not so often.
But wishing to win and winning itself are completely two different things though? If it were a tournament bracket kind of thing, underdogs could easily be spotted and honestly, just from those data that could be obtained while they are climbing the ladder and that should be enough to create a preliminary judgement on whether the team could make an upset or not. Bettors rely on data, analysis, and a bit of bias judgement, not on the will of one team "wanting" to win.
3044  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: November 01, 2021, 06:12:17 AM
Unfortunately, EDG did win and in the final we will see the predicted pair EDG versus DG. At the moment, the odds for the final are as follows:
Edward Gaming 3,40
Damwon Gaming 1,29

DG look like favorites, but as we can see from the semi-finals, such a coefficient on them is hardly justified. EDG will take at least one map in my opinion and the match itself will end with a minimal gap.
Sad story for Gen G tbh, what happened with them was like what happened in the SKT vs DG match, they took 2 games before losing the other two. Rather unfortunate. On the other hand though hyped for the EDG vs DG, I'm all in for DG ngl, I agree with the odds. Though that doesn't mean this is gonna be an easy game for DG, I'd reckon as you said, EDG will take at least one game with them. Though a 3-1 ending isn't that unlikely imo.
3045  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: [poll] Can speculation & prediction affect bitcoin price? on: November 01, 2021, 04:38:32 AM
Simply speaking, demand and supply are the ones that actually drive the price, and demand has a lot of factors that can influence it, speculations and predictions are just two of them, simple as that. Though I don't think it actually influences it directly, it does affect at some point the demand of users since they'd believe their speculations and predictions (or of others) at some point in time. It's also why people with a huge influence can affect the market, albeit on the short term.
3046  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin not a seek and hide for fraudulency on: November 01, 2021, 03:08:29 AM
Bitcoin was never the problem in terms of hiding their funds and scam attempts, it always has been there, whether it be since Bitcoin's inception or way before that and people need to realize that. It's like people finally found something that's obvious in the eye to blame when clearly, they just couldn't find jack about the real reasons of why scams and forms of fraud were happening even way back then. Crypto is already an abode for scammers, the same could be said with fiat as well though, heck I'd reckon any medium would work. It's pretty damn stupid really to blame the medium we use for scams and frauds.
3047  Economy / Economics / Re: Financial Stability - Get yourself non ending economic circle. on: October 31, 2021, 03:42:13 PM
Isn't it natural to have multiple ways to get income? Naturally, it would be better if said other ways came from you enjoying your hobbies or what not, while your main income would be something that could be you enjoy or not enjoy, just that it's where you're naturally skilled at due to studying it for years. Even simple investments could be a way for passive income. As they say, you make your money earn more money, and you're pretty much set for life.

I think it depends on the social context and country. I know a couple of people who have very high-paying (for my country) full-time jobs that allow them to pay mortgage payments and afford a higher than average standard of live.
But that would mean being highly skilled on the job no? Even if we do say it's a high-paying job, I'd reckon there'd still be a skill requirement for one to even get them.
3048  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Fantasy sport as a unique business and entertainment or plagiarism and delusion? on: October 31, 2021, 09:04:13 AM
I don't think it's going to get that much traction tbh. There are the real-world sports that we have and I'd honestly much watch that cause, after all, fantasy sports is something akin to numbers fighting against numbers. It's unlike eSports where players manipulate those numbers, fantasy sports instead use the real world to base their numbers in and then fight each other. It might get a part of it's own traction but I don't think it could possibly exceed what the sports scene currently has imo. After all, fantasy sports are stuck at an impasse if their real-world counterparts were to never change, so it really just follows that imo.
3049  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Andreas' current use of BTC on: October 31, 2021, 05:24:20 AM
Well, it isn't exactly wrong, imo. Bitcoin adoption has been ongoing quite well these past few months but it's really not enough to actually be able to integrate it into our daily lives as a currency you know? Most stores that have adopted Bitcoin payments may or may not be the ones that we regularly use in our everyday lives (it's on a person by person basis) so it isn't exactly right that we force hodlers of Bitcoin to spend it since it is a currency you know? Adoption is still growing so I'd reckon usage of Bitcoin as currency would only grow sooner or later imo.
3050  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: October 31, 2021, 03:58:38 AM
2-2 and the 5th game has started, T1 has a slight advantage and it is difficult to say how events will develop here, but I must note that regardless of the result, this is one of the most interesting series in this championship. I am very glad that the game is not going as the bookmakers predicted (an easy victory for DK with a score of 3-0 or 3-1).
A very unfortunate last match for T1. They managed to nab 2 games, and even threatened Damwon in stealing the finals position by scoring 2 games ahead of Damwon but they ultimately ended up failing. Showmaker just played spectacularly in their games, dominating Faker in game 4 and in game 5 T1 just lost it out in a few clashes. The game was going on pretty okay for both sides but a few clashes ended up tilting the winning sides over Damwon, not to mention how Damwon actually managed to take every drake.
3051  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: October 30, 2021, 03:37:23 PM
i didn't forget about this game, locked in a single ticket earlier

DK 1-0 already, they deleted T1 fairly quick in that game...DAMWON are smurfing, man, pls perma ban  Smiley

busy evening alright, watching Real madrid, NaVi - Heroic (i have over 26.5 rounds x1.8 )  and T1 - DK
Well T1 got back from them with two games. At the 4th game right now, looks like Damwon is on the advantage with the current state of the game, looks like we might actually get to Game 5 if the game continues like this without many changes. I highly doubt T1 could actually come back from their current state of 13-1, Faker is at 0/5 and Showmaker is just dominating the game. His leb could just literally one combo the adc of T1, so lets go game 5 people.
3052  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: October 30, 2021, 10:50:19 AM
Best of 5 in a few hours between Damwon and T1 in the semis of Worlds 2021, been a fan favorite of Damwon since a few years back, kinda hyped for this match really. SKT has been showing their dominance in their past matches but the same could be said with Damwon, might be a pretty close match reaching at least game 4. These two are pretty old teams and we all know how the SKT dominance has ended way long ago with other strong teams matching up to them, so I'd expect good matches here.
3053  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Dice against plako or slot on: October 30, 2021, 05:29:37 AM
Uhh what? Options of choice of what game to play are completely up to the player themselves and honestly, what is plako even? Is it plinko as others have said? Anyhow Dice isn't even that popular imo with it being only that, slot at least has a bit of variety even if it's only limited to design most of the time. And yes, it's always like that, gambling is a game centered on your own choice so of course, it's going to be limited by the place you're playing at. Gambling is free for everyone to try after all.
3054  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Poker Tips- what kind of strategies do you use when playing? on: October 29, 2021, 12:14:34 PM
That will be the final choice left, then as nothing could save me. I played yesterday and did the bluffing again (but not all-in), the results were not so good but they were not bad either. It was like, I got many good cards yesterday and wanted to test this bluffing part as we have all been discussing it very seriously, so I took the privilege in my hands and went on to scaring my opponents again. I ended up in profit TBH and I believe that bluffing can be useful in times when we are certain that our opponents will fold or they've got even worst cards than us (a wild guess). But yeah, I won't bluff each game because they'll know that I'm using it as a strategy, I'd instead wait for 2-3 games, whether I get good cards or not (if not, I fold during those 2-3 games) and then bluff, that's called a surprise bluff strategy.
Understandable really, only those kinds of bluffs would ever work imo. People who know how to read others and know when they're bluffing or not would not make any bluff work, ever. OR the hand he has is just incredibly good that it's really unlikely for him to lose so he just went in without even giving a single damn if his opponents were actually bluffing or not. Hey, that's poker I tell ya. Bluffing really is just a one time strategy really imo, it just takes advantage of someones carelessness but after that, they'd be pretty wary of you.
3055  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading with leverage on: October 29, 2021, 08:35:57 AM
Even with tight stop losses, trading with leverage is still dangerous and would normally be not recommended. Trading is something you don't want to gamble with, even if you do know how to trade. After all, no amount of TA could increase your chances of making a successful trade to 100%. It's really not worth the risk. Imo, leverage trading is only done by impatient people which shouldn't be imo, trading is something that would require time and patience, it isn't something that should be done quickly just because you want to.
3056  Other / Off-topic / Re: Facebook Plan To Rebrand Name To Meta on: October 29, 2021, 05:14:56 AM
There are feeling from critics of Facebook that the name changing is made out of hiding from public criticism. Do you think this planned rebranding will change anything on the PR crisis or is going to remain despite the name changing ?
No, it wouldn't. The most it's gonna change is that people would probably turn their attention into the name change, instead of the real issue that caused Facebook to pull out these changes to change what the public has their eyes on right now. Facebook was a bright idea in the beginning but just ended up really, idk, disappointing nowadays? Not to mention the privacy issues and whatnots that Facebook has been facing right now. And honestly, I expect their rebranding shenanigans to not even have that much impact on what their company is going to do. Heck, it might even flub all on its own imo, it is Facebook we are talking about after all.
3057  Economy / Economics / Re: What happened? on: October 29, 2021, 03:38:17 AM
I understand the importance of Bitcoin in the crypto market, but to be honest, I have at least two big problems with it:

1. In a market that boasts transparency, it remains a coin with an unknown founder.
2. I have read Bitcoin's whitepaper, and it's mostly an essay about the advantages of cryptocurrency, but not about Bitcoin.

#1 is not even a problem imo, Bitcoin works as intended and would continue to do so with or without the influence of its founder, it was made that way after all. It pushes forth the idea that Bitcoin isn't influenced by any factors other than the general supply and demand. Honestly, if you're looking at it as an investment then nows the right time with it being only a decade old. It is designed as a currency after all, so I'd reckon after a few more decades price would gradually stabilize, or at the very least, have minimal movement that could negatively affect transactions done through it.
3058  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: TV Commercials & How they attracting more clients in crypto industry. on: October 29, 2021, 02:04:46 AM
I'm pretty sure having an advertisement of crypto-related stuff isn't going to make it boom all of a sudden. Not to mention that, if you ask yourself, how many commercials can you actually remember that you've watched? It'd be close to zero I'd reckon, and that's just how it is tbh. Those who are interested in crypto are already in it imo, and those that are still going to enter are probably doubters or those totally out of the loop of what is famous or not. TV commercials are for a broader sense and doesn't really target the group it wants, so I don't think it's going to have much effect imo.
3059  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: gambling addiction is getting real on: October 28, 2021, 08:43:32 AM
Totally . Decided to quit gambling for now ( after this weekend UFC ) as already placed my bet and once i started exclusion my money is stucked on stake. Will start my 1month/3month gambling exclusion once i withdraw my money from Stake.com.

Yes ,it was dumb to go that much in gambling and 'chasing' my lost and snowballing to huge amount. Learnt from my mistake and hope no one do the same mistake like I did.
Good decision pretty much, you lost way too much in a single session, judging from how hard I think it hit you, I assume the money is pretty big for your situation, so taking a break in general is really something that you'd really need. I'd even suggest spending some money on some stuff that you enjoy just so that you can enjoy your vacation much more. Don't blame yourself too hard for the losses, gambling does that to you, but don't completely say it isn't your fault, It's still you making the final say in decisions like that after all.
3060  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's your strategy to carry on making money when Bitcoin turns bearish on: October 27, 2021, 02:10:26 PM
Buy in each dip then wait for it to pump again. Basically, what most hodlers do right now, buy low and then hodl. Though from what I'm understanding here, the question means more to having different venues of income other than Bitcoin. Trading isn't my main work so I have no problems there really, I'm just one of those hodlers that hope to profit off of Bitcoin being a great coin, an early investor so to speak. If we ever hit a huge bear cycle I'd probably sell mid-way? And then wait for the bottom dip before buying in again and hodling.
