3041  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: May 22, 2018, 01:05:40 PM
Today Massimiliano Mirabelli the sporting director of A.C. Milan announced that they are expecting to sign 3 top players in the upcoming window. He is specifically looking for 3 players in each position of Striker, Winger, and an Offensive Midfielder which I think he wants to address Milan's lack of offensive strength in the game. The problem here is now they need to unload in order to reload. They need to unload ineffective players in their roster eve the ones who are currently on loan in order to have a big budget for the next window.
3042  Other / Meta / Re: sMerit deadline on: May 22, 2018, 10:25:54 AM
It'll also lead to alright posts being merited and that's not what we're after
I think it's okay to merit "alright posts". If an "alright poster" ranks up, that's a good thing. I don't think Merit is meant to reject people who are "alright", it's meant to reject people with bad posts.
I'm not saying an "alright" post should get as many Merits as an excellent post, but some encouragement doesn't hurt either.
But don't you think that giving "alright post" posters more merits will lead them to sending their earned merits to crappy posters? I mean if they noticed that getting more merits with their kinds of posts is now easy it will lead them to literally donating all of their merits so that it won't be wasted with the decay system, it can even give them the idea to create their own alt accounts in the process as ranking up won't be so hard now.
3043  Economy / Economics / Re: Increasing number of celebrities endorsing cryptocurrency on: May 21, 2018, 04:38:34 PM
As a crypto holder, there is nothing to be proud of this news celebrities and sports legends will actually make cryprotuccurencies a laughing matter by new members, could you imagine in the headlines "Michael Owen Creating its own Crptocurrency to buy his products" or "Manny Pacquiao Will Create his Own Crypto, Mayweather will soon Follow"  Of course they are big names but do you think the crypto world will benefit from this? It just looks to me that they are using their names to boost their wealth up, this utility tokens are really not worth watching not unless you are planning to pump and dump (which I don't recommend).
3044  Other / Meta / Re: sMerit deadline on: May 21, 2018, 01:45:26 PM
I agree with what others have said and I personally think that it is a bad idea as well. Your solution of decaying sMerits won't have your intended effect as this will just encourage this higher rank members to distribute their unspent sMerits to their alt accounts, instead of giving to worthy post. Plus this way of encouragement to members won't be as effective as you are just encouraging them to send their merits but not encourage them to send it to quality post. This will just affect the merit system in a bad way.
3045  Economy / Gambling / Re: MooJoy ★ Provably Fair ★ PLAY Jackpot, Roulette, Dice +5 more ★ MOBILE on: May 21, 2018, 12:09:44 PM
The services that generally require you to watch a video or download some app are usually the worst. They are full of ads and sometimes you can easily get some type of malware on your computer.

I think instead of making people watch videos as a form of faucet you should just use a regular faucet with very small amounts like 100 satoshi or so.

Because I am pretty sure most people here won't want to go to those malware type websites so you can get ad revenue.
I agree the worst part is after you watched the ad and finish downloading the app there is a chance that you won't be credited or recorded as some actions will transfer you to another website/app. I do think they have done this instead of having a faucet so that they are not entirely giving free money away as they will benefit from your as well as forcing the player to deposit their own money to have their in-game currency.
3046  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: How will the future of wallets work? on: May 20, 2018, 06:48:11 PM
What I am seeing right now is that cryptocurrency wallets that have mobile applications are in a good position right now. Why? A lot of companies such as Apple and Samsung are creating their own payment method in their own mobile devices they created Apple Pay, and Samsung Pay respectively. Virtual credit and debit cards are also existing right now in our mobile phones, banks actually have apps for mobile phones which you can send and receive money from. With the examples I give I think in the future people would only be bringing their cellphones and not their wallets anymore that's if driver's license and other ids have gone digital as well.
3047  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2018 NBA Season on: May 20, 2018, 05:09:06 PM
The problem is that Lebron James cannot do it all on his own even with the lineup of the GSW when they faced the Rockets only Durant played to his maximum and even with that, it was not enough to win against the Rockets.
He might can't do everything he can but he does amazing plays and just like what I'm expecting, they've won.  Grin

Did anyone here won their bets with Cleveland Cavaliers? I'm not sure if this will be going to a streak but I don't want to be comfortable since it's their first win. But if they'll make it straight up to 3 wins then that's predictable.
3 straight wins is nothing for Lebron James remember he won 4 straight and sweep the number 1 team in the East which is the Toronto Raptors. Also yoseph is right Lebron cannot do it on his own, and from what I am seeing in the sideline Tyronn Lue is not even acting up as their coach anymore as Lebron is the one doing the team talks already. If they do win this series against Boston they must up their game against the Finals as whoever wins in the West would have a better team overall.
3048  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Former President of Goldman Sachs Predicts a Global Cryptocurrency Other Than Bi on: May 20, 2018, 03:34:49 PM
Quote
Cohn predicts the virtual currency of the future to be simpler than bitcoin. This is easily understood cryptocurrency. It apparently, has some blockchain technology behind it. It is likely to understand the technology behind bitcoin, this is how it moves for people to utilize it.
quoted from the article provided

He maybe is not talking about the near future as if we see the current situation now you will see that a lot of the new people will know the word Bitcoin first rather than the word cryptocurrencies, I do believe that bitcoin will be replace in the future but it won't be near as a lot of people are still are tapping the shallow parts of the world of cryptocurrencies, if the majority of the world has a firm grasp on this industry I think they will voluntarily pick the best cryptocurrency fit to become a global crypto, and I guess it must also have a major support from some developed countries.
3049  Economy / Economics / Re: Venezuela is about to launch a free cryptocurrency course for every citizen! on: May 20, 2018, 01:06:51 PM
This could still go either way and backfire to the Venezuelan government. Supposed that their citizens finished the course and training there is no guarantee that they will be earning gains from both trading as well as mining. Backfire in the sense of instead of their economy becoming better by making their citizens learn cryptocurrency they might instead face financial crisis when everything goes wrong, for example all their traders experiencing a loss during the bear market which also affects the mining industry as well. In my opinion if they want to teach their citizens, they must do it extensively and teach them how to become pros in the cryptocurrency industry.
3050  Other / Meta / Re: [paid spamming] Bump Bots post and delete thousands of posts per day NUKE PLEASE on: May 20, 2018, 11:44:41 AM
I can think of several solutions:
1. Ignore Newbies when sorting on "Last post" date. This way, Newbies can't bump threads anymore.
This is a good idea but I think that you should bump it up to Jr. Members as well. With the screenshot I posted below you will see on this two threads I saw that Jr. Members are also part of this bumping service as well. Including the Jr. Members as well will help us shut down this kind of services more effectively.

3051  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: which dice site is better ? on: May 19, 2018, 06:09:54 PM
Even though most dice gambling sites have the same concept but there is one thing that can be compared between each sites. That thing is, whenever people got problem, how fast the sites will be able to help them(customers) to resolve it? From that point, we will know whether a dice gambling site is better than the other gambling sites or not.
I have to disagree with you, customer support efficiency is good but I think it is better for a gambling site to have less errors than a efficient customer service. A gambling site with no issues will barely need a customer support to run their services properly. Don't get me wrong on this one, we still need an efficient customer service from time to time as sometimes there are just unexpected problems that will pop out but I still think that a more reliable and smoother running of their services has more weight on determining if they are the best gambling site.
3052  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Is bitcoin illegal in India on: May 19, 2018, 03:19:47 PM
They have a really complicated situation right now. Because the Government of India has officially stated that cryptocurrencies are not recognized legal tender in the country in short you cannot directly used cryptocurrencies as a form of payment in buying products, yet cryptocurrencies are allowed to be earned, traded, and mined. Lately the Reserve Bank of India, which is their central bank issued a note where they are notified banks not to open accounts related to cryptocurrencies as it can "potentially be used for criminal activities".

As to how things are going I think the legislative assembly of India is having a hard time on creating a law that will ban cryptocurrencies that is why they are acting to creating memorandums with the RBI. Which I think means some politicians are opposing the creations of a law which will ban cryptocurrencies in the country.
3053  Economy / Speculation / Re: What would happen if Bitcoin did hit $1m by mid-2020? on: May 19, 2018, 09:43:28 AM
Obviously if this happens, a lot of new millionaires, billionaires and maybe even trillionaires will be born. Do you think this would have a large impact on society? Would this cause nocoiners to become the new low class? Would prices of every day goods rise? Would Fiat currency even be worth anything? Or would we just have a lot of new money in an otherwise unchanged society?

(Hopefully) obviously, this post is purely hypothetical and in reference to John McAfee's prediction.

$1m per coin in just 2 years would mean there are a lot of problems in the world economy and that a million wouldn't be worth much imo.
1 million in 15-20 years would be some kind of natural growth where I assume it would be worth something. But such a value in 24 months would be a catastrophe. So I'm talking about very strong inflation here. Therefore Bitcoiners wouldn't be the new super rich class.
I agree hyperinflation can happen globally. Even if you are holding .30BTC you can now be considered a millionaire by some countries. If a lot of cryptocurrency holders become millionaires in just 3 years the value of fiat would diminish as Bitcoin hitting a million dollars or even near it will make easy money for this holders and would basically devalue fiat right away. But realistically speaking what would trigger BTC to go up that high? The only situation I am thinking of possibly is all of the fiat currency has faced devaluation which I think isn't possible as the value of their money is a reflection of their economy and as of right now I don't see any major threat on the global economy.
3054  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-05-16] EU Adopts Rules to Reduce Anonymity for Crypto Users on: May 17, 2018, 07:24:16 PM
They are going to the same road as what Korea and Japan is doing on their regulations towards cryptocurrencies. Not unlike others who are banning cryptocurrencies as a whole this countries especially the European countries shows that they would rather give regulations rather than straightforward banning them all without even making their minds open. This kind of support they are showing us must be translated that a lot of countries are now turning their heads towards crytpocurrencies and how they can take advantage of it for their economy.
3055  Economy / Economics / Re: Is bitcoin actually protecting fiat money? on: May 17, 2018, 06:16:15 PM
Why do people always think that inflation is a bad thing? Remember Inflation can also be translated to demand, to make you understand deflation is when the prices of goods and services are getting cheaper as the demand is lower than the supply does giving your dollar or any fiat currency more buying power. Injecting more money into the economy does not help solve inflation as well they can also see this as an oversupply of money which can also trigger a greater inflation. Now to answer your question any investment (stocks, real estate, cryptocurrecies) is a protection to inflation as long as your returns are greater than the inflation your buying power will still be equal or even greater than what it was used to before.
3056  Other / Meta / Re: Request: add bitcointalk.TO to [phishing] list on: May 17, 2018, 03:59:07 PM
They got the guts to copy the site entirely but any member who is familiar with the site and its members would see this is a fake one. Just by typing the phishing site you instantly get redirected to Satoshi's "post" which is a no-brainer, another thing is when you try to log-in it won't work as it will again redirect you to the post. I just hope that this site will shut off entirely you can even see that this phishing site copied some notable members here in the forum and that is including the theymos.

Edited: Thanks LoyceV I have removed my mistake.
3057  Economy / Gambling / Re: 1xBit.com - Betting, Bitcoin Sportsbook, Casino web-site| ONLINE SPORTS BETTING! on: May 17, 2018, 01:41:01 PM
It would be good if you explained how your provably fair system works on both your thread as well as within your site as I haven't manage to locate it myself. Soon enough a lot of people will be asking and looking for this as well. I am just giving you a heads up as some of the members here are critical to these things when it comes to gambling sites.
3058  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Rise of Crypto Bookkeepers and Accountant on: May 17, 2018, 11:24:53 AM
I would rather choose an accountant who knows how to manage my books on everything rather than an accountant or bookkeeper that specializes on  one thing. Accountants should be well-rounded at everything as even though cryptocurrencies are a new thing they should know where this earnings go into the books. Just like lawyers, when there is a new law you don't expect to go someone new who specializes on that already but you expect that your old lawyer must have known it by now and knows how to adjust to it. Also one quick advice is I would stay away from "accountants" and "lawyers" who are giving their service online as based from what I am seeing nothing good ever came out of it.
3059  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 2018-05-16 Microsoft’s Search Engine Bing Says It Will Ban Crypto-Related Ads By on: May 16, 2018, 07:13:49 PM
Sad to say that Google has made this move as well. I have well remembered that a couple months back they were only banning ICOs with relation to Financial-Services, but as of right now they are planning to ban all kinds o ICOs even binary options advertisements. If we are talking about a big hit. this is one of the haymakers the cryptocurrency market will receive. With two big companies showing that they are ready to be strict on showing ads of ICOs, they are like saying that they want to stay out of any legal action when it comes to potential fraud coins, but generalizing them all is a really bad move. They should have made a screening process on their ads instead of doing this.
3060  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in - Win free Bitcoins every hour! on: May 16, 2018, 05:06:38 PM
Have anyone noticed the genius behind this site? You are given FREE Satoshi from the site via the Faucet, but the whole site

is designed to entice you to re-use it on the "Gambling" side. A popup that re-direct you to the Multiplier game and then

there is also the Lottery system and even the earnings from "investment" side. Most actions take back the Satoshi's that are

given for FREE. {This is still your choice, but it was genius to do it this way.} I think most Satoshi's received from the FREE

Rolls, end up back at the site.  Grin
I have notice that a long time ago and I think other members to as well, wit a low faucet reward, a high threshold, and cheap lottery tickets you know that a lot of members here will be gunning for the jackpot, or even the lower tier prices that are included. And I think it is obvious, all faucets right now are designed to go back in their system, just like how gambling sites implement their faucets where they give out free claims in order for you to play and try their games but not to win and withdraw them.
