There could be mass exodus of users, specially those who have been here in the community for many years as who don't like Elon Musk playing us here in our own community.

Even at his own company now, Twitter, employees doesn't want to work with him anymore because of the work ethics he wanted to imposed to his employees. So that is a big possibility if ever he plans to buy bitcointalk.org. But in any case, I don't see Elon doing it, he is a investors and he will put his money where it will grow.
3042  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tank Davis vs. Ryan Garcia betting and discussion (May, 2023) on: November 19, 2022, 11:04:53 AM
True, no belts, at least the regular one and yet this is one of the most anticipated fight, everyone is waiting for this, just like when we are all excited by the Spence vs Crawford fight. And I do agree that this is a 50:50 fight in my book, as Tank and Ryan possesses power in this division, the fight is going to be made in a catchweight of 136 lbs. As Ryan said he can't make it to 135 lbs no more and if I'm not mistaken he fought Tagoe at a catchweight at well. While Garcia fought at 135 lbs against Rolly Romero, he has a experience fighting at 140 lbs against Barrios.
I don't think Tank vs Garcia is 50:50, maybe it's true in the bookies the odds will be close since Garcia has a lot fans that interested to watch him because he's handsome and he has a power to knock out low technical boxer.

He is being groomed to be the next Oscar Dela Hoya by no less than Oscar himself, lot of fans in his social media account and he was event called a social media champion.

But as he said, to gain the respect that he deserves, he need to fight and defeat Tank Davis. And this will be goal, catch weight or not, this is going to be a great fight for us.
3043  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: November 19, 2022, 10:41:50 AM
My picks for tonight.

Philadelphia 76ers vs Milwaukee Bucks = Milwaukee Bucks Win 1,97 Odds

Golden State Warriors(-4,5) vs New York Knicks = Golden State Warriors Win 1,52 Odds

Good luck guys.

I will go with the Warriors at -5.5. They will be playing at home, they are comfortable so I think that they can cover that spread.

Nuggets vs Mavs - reports say that Jokic is still not going play, plus Murray, so with that, -8.5 for me.

Finally hitting my bets for today, first time that I got a perfect bet, so that is good enough for me.

Unfortunately mate, the Sixers won the game against the Milwaukee Bucks. And then those who bet on the Heat at -1.5, just a shade shy though. Very good game but the Wizards win at the end. Celtics continuing with their run.
3044  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gervonta Davis VS Hector Luis Garcia SAT, JAN 07, 2023 on: November 19, 2022, 10:21:14 AM
It's a different Garcia, but just think about it, fans buying ticket to think that it will be Ryan Garcia in January, hehehe.

But as others have said, tune up, cherry pick, get busy fight, call it whatever you want but this is true. Very clever on Tank and his camp to pump up first before taking Ryan. And in any case, I wouldn't mind this, as long as he will fight Ryan whether in May, as long as it will happen this year, and I'm down with this fight.

3046  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: November 18, 2022, 11:38:54 PM
Anfernee Simons is really an important player for Trail Blazers now. In the absence of Lillard due to calf injury, Simons was making a really good contribution to the team. There have been so many games that he scored 20+ points. Lillard also has come back strong with nice performances. He made three double-doubles in his last three games.

Trail Blazers are one of the surprising teams so far as well. Because currently they are leading the Western Conference with 10 wins and 5 losses. We are still in very early phases of the regular season of course. Besides the most important part is going to be the playoffs. If they maintain a consistent effort then they might be one of the serious contenders for the championship who knows.

Simmons is gonna be a real good player in 2/3 years.  Young and an alpha dog already.  He will end up being a perennial all star one day.  That's the chances you take drafting a real young player.  You could end up striking gold with the later picks.  Wouldn't mind the Knicks snagging him.

Yeah, bright future for him with the Blazers and the organization is giving him a good exposure that's why him and Lillard are a good complimentary. And they also get a good player in Grant that really brings a lot for the team that's why they are very successful this early.

But the real test in again playoff, I think there lack of experience might go against them unless Lillard turn into a beast just like the previous season.

I still remember betting huge money on them prior to Lillard getting injured and before CJ left. But it's a different roster now.
3047  Economy / Services / Re: How You Can Become An Authority on: November 18, 2022, 11:24:55 PM
There are many financial gurus selling their books within thir courses on the internet. The purpose is always the same: financial freedom for the average person.

After all we reach to the conclusion these books are a copy of the previous titles. Authors select catchphrases they read previously in books from other authors which create a powerful impact on readers' minds, added to personal testimonies of pain, resilience and success.

And then, as OP claims, they become an authority on this niche, at least for the public who falls for these cheap tricks... Tongue

On the other hand, I must be fair and state there could be some precious lessons and teachings on some of these books.

I love those books though, but then again, even if you read all of them till the last page, but if you failed to execute all the learning, then it's nothing. So to become the authority in any field, you really had to get your hands dirty, your feet wet to get and feel on what it is, and what you really want to accomplished.

And this author become the authority but just doing that, they try to learn it by themselves and then sharing it to others, whether to gain financial freedom and others things in life. But the most important thing is that we should enjoy what we are doing, maybe we are motivated, but at the end of the day, life is hard but at least when we traverse that journey, we should learn how to smile and enjoy.
3048  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Potential scam.. need help please on: November 18, 2022, 10:56:50 PM
Same here, even in 2018 or 2019, this is already prevalent, a lot of scam tokens landing on your wallet. The thing is, maybe you have exposed your wallet publicly and this scammers try to lure you by depositing some in your wallet and who knows, they could follow you and then set a trap later.

So in any case don't be bother by them, ignore it.

And if you are paranoid or something, just create another clean address.
3049  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: November 18, 2022, 10:46:17 PM
^^ Boxers will always find "personal" reasons to beat the other party, that's why they are motivated. The Taylor vs Catterall became personal to Taylor because he almost lost the fight, when everyone thought that he was invincible at 140 lbs. Of course he has the belt and the unified champion, but everything went wrong on that fight. And there are boxing pundits who see Catterall winning the fight.

And that makes Josh really wanted to get a rematch and shut Jack Catterall mouth for good. And shows everyone that he is still on top of this division although he has given up his 3 belts because it's hard to defend all against mandatory by different bodies.
3050  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Qatar bribed 8 players from Ecuador for the opening match on: November 18, 2022, 10:25:40 PM
Right now odds pays x3.26 if Qatar win, i know is a risky bet but i'm almost sure they will win. Will you place bets on this game after knowing about the bribe?

If that is the case then I wouldn't put a bet on Qatar, crypto bookies might void our bets specially if this news is true. And I do agree that it will put a black eye on Qatar as host in this Cup and maybe they will received a severe punishment, their organization and the players involved.

Not sure how this news leaked out, maybe someone didn't get the bribe that he has supposed to get?

And this really messed up everything in this World Cup as there will be a lot of suspicions, as who's who on the pocket or what players deliberately take a dive to lose their game.
3051  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Errol Spence vs Keith Thurman on: November 18, 2022, 09:52:39 PM

Cemented their legacy? Nah! IMO, you can't have your legacy cemented until you fight the best of the best in your division.
When or lose, as long as you don't turn down any opponent, that for me is the true legacy.
They are just protecting their precious records. They wanna be like Mayweather. Well, if this fight between them won't happen, it will for sure hunt them for the rest of their lives. Either of them are not worthy to be called the best in their generation.

I do agree, although there could have been fights that both of them could have missed, but they really need each other at this point. Just like what Manny and Floyd did, although the fight is kinda late in their career, but at least we have seen them fight.

And they are in the premier division, and the lineage of this division goes down deep, specially in the 80's wherein we see great fights.

It looks like their camp is evading each other because they are unsure of the result.  Besides, there are other boxer that can be an option that is still profitable even though the excitement won't bring the same excitement if these two boxers meet.  My guess, we have to wait until these two boxers are past their prime before their camp agrees to a fight deal.

Anyhow, Spence is on a tough fight here, specially if a different version of Thurman shows, a hungry lion like he was still the champion in this division.

I agree, Thurman is still at his prime, and he already had a warm-up fight so I guess Thurman is already back on track.  It will be interesting how Spence will deal with the hungry lion, he should be hungrier to beat Thurman in their match since the fight can go either way.  The one who wanted the belt more will surely win.

As per Spence this is his reason for not wanting to give Thurman a fight:

Quote
Spence has been steadfast that he would never give Thurman a shot at his three titles because Thurman showed no interest in fighting him years ago.

https://www.espn.ph/boxing/story/_/id/34989884/errol-spence-ordered-defend-wbc-title-keith-thurman

It could be, but I'm seeing that Spence could be in trouble here. Although Thurman is somewhat inactive, but I reckon his power is still there. And as Rolly Romero says, he can still crack and Spence might be after that he will be crack this time.

So will see, I have high regards still that Thurman will give Spence the toughest test of his career if Keith will just focus and be motivated as before.

He already admitted that it was a stupid move on his part, and yeah CZ is not thinking about it about the consequences when he open this suggestion to the public.

It was after kucoin hack or binance hack in 2020/2021.
The idea was proposed to CZ and I think he respond without thinking too much. It was not seriously considered. Binance give up on this idea saying that it will not be healthy for crypto industry, not that they are able to do it.

And yes this was around 2019, it was a hacked on Binance, 7,000 bitcoin (BTC) — worth around $40.7 million at the time.

3055  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can you still win with free spins? on: November 18, 2022, 09:52:40 AM
Is it possible to stick with free spins on online casinos and still be able to make some good reward?

I am looking into the free side of things, no risk at all with free spins but the question is has anyone ever make something out of free spins before? Something reasonable at?

The last time I earned something free from gambling websites was when BTC has very low value and many faucets still run, that's couple of years back.

Still depends on luck though, even in land based casinos, free spins will not equate into good rewards.

So yes, you can still win with free spins, but your luck will still have the last say.

I can't remember when was the last time I earn something free, oh wait, yeah, got a free spin or free bet when my account got upgraded on another gambling site. So it's either I take the free and make it cash or go and bet that as free.
3056  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Errol Spence vs Keith Thurman on: November 18, 2022, 09:36:50 AM

The diversion of attention of the fans are now on this match. Okay, there's no more Spence and Crawford because of this match and that's why schedules and deals won't be possible anymore.

Both has good set of records, as Thurman's performance isn't convincing against Barrios. Maybe this time, he'll retrieve himself and will show the expected Thurman that everyone wants.
For now we will not see a mega fight between Spence and Crawford, but once they both win in their respective fights, for sure the hype will be up again as the fans would always want to witness a big fight which is the undisputed fight between them.
Yes, but not sure if both are still interested, the two boxers have said that they don't need each other as they have cemented their legacy.

Cemented their legacy? Nah! IMO, you can't have your legacy cemented until you fight the best of the best in your division.

3057  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tank Davis vs. Ryan Garcia betting and discussion (May, 2023) on: November 18, 2022, 09:17:14 AM
After many months of speculations, finally this fight is made so Kudos to Oscar Dela Hoya and Floyd Mayweather for letting this fight happen. The fans are asking for this, both boxers, hyping it, by going back and forth. And if I'm not mistaken, there are even a confrontation between the two

Quote
Multiple-time world champion Gervonta Davis has given his insight into the conversation with Ryan Garcia in a nightclub. The 27-year-old says that he was told to leave Garcia (23-0, 19 KOs) alone by Al Haymon.

Initially, the 24-year-old American fighter said that the “Tank” grabbed his chain while confronting him at the club.

As he was narrating the story, you could feel that Garcia almost choked with emotions. Some fans suggested that he was on the verge of crying.

The younger American has talked animatedly about Davis in the media.

“Al [Haymon] told me to leave him because he went crying to his lawyer. Al got a little scared because they were going to pull out of the fight,” Davis said on social media.

https://www.fightsports.tv/gervonta-davis-opens-up-on-ryan-garcia-confrontation/

For sure this has attracted all boxing fans, casual and hardcore. So yes, I think this could be bigger than the Spence vs Crawford (didn't materialized unfortunately).
3058  Economy / Gambling / Re: If you were building a Sportsbook... on: November 17, 2022, 11:48:25 PM

I think to find the API for sports events and bookmakers some praise the iSports API as it covers the full range of sports data in more than 900 different international and national competitions, cups and leagues in all major football federations around the world. There are also free APIs from Betfair, Matchbook and Pinnacle that allow you to provide odds and place bets.

Thank you for the response! I will check these out.

live betting would be cool. but the odds will drastically change while the game is happening. i have not seen like this in crypto but sure this will be fun when you decide to bet before the game start and when you see you are losing you bet again for the other team. the fun part is when the result is draw.

i have no idea actually but this is what you are looking for?

Live betting has exist already in major sports bookies.

Not sure what you are looking for as far as API, but maybe you can check this out: https://www.thesportsdb.com/api.php

I'm not affiliate or anything that relates to me with that site, so just be careful and just everything before using them.
3059  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do not believe every crypto news you read online on: November 17, 2022, 11:19:08 PM
I think for crypto based media, this is the trend, they just published news without any verification. Worst this articles are like written by a not professional writers.
And I as far as I can remember, this has been debated heavily in this community, as what is the status of crypto media and how they twist and turn every news to fit their narratives. That's why I'm very careful of reading news, even from so called good source that we have today. Still better to do due diligence and not to be affected and be swayed on every news, specially FUD and negative news popping here and there.
3060  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: November 17, 2022, 10:59:02 PM
I saw the news about Dwight Howard is playing on the league in Taiwan. There's now a follow up news that a team there too, the GhostHawks are wanting to take Carmelo Anthony to their team.

So, it's very likely that he'll take the sign there and play for that league. I felt bad again for Melo when he's got stuck with no team want to take him just like the past seasons when he's on the same situation.

But hopefully, he gets to sign there and play against Dwight's team.

I'm not aware that he is recruiting Carmelo Anthony, but who knows.

And if I'm not mistaken, Dwight said that he is making a cool $1 million per year, so it's like he is still playing with the veterans minimum in the NBA. But what Howard like maybe is that he will be treated as the superstar in his team in Taiwan and it could bring back his confidence once again.

Maybe that will be the sales pitch of Howard for Carmelo, join him and play make money and become a superstar once again.
It's not that Dwight is recruiting Melo, there's one team that wants him and they're on the talks.

For these two, they'll surely be treated as superstars in the T1 League and many fans from Asia are for sure going to come and seek and watch these two live.

These leagues are investing to these great players that have no longer contract to the NBA. Actually, that's a good opportunity and there will be some place and new home for these once-great players that are not renewed and given a contract by their teams.

Ok thanks mate, and as I have research, and regarding Dwight Howards playing in T1, the league said that their tickets was sold out in 10 minutes upon releasing this news. So for sure many wanted to see how Dwight will play in their league and he could bring tickets sales.

And imagine if Melo decided to play in T1, gonna be beneficial on both sides, Melo earning still good enough millions per year and then the league making a killing in tickets sales because basketball fanatics wanted to see Melo play.

But still up to Melo Anthony to pursue basketball outside of the NBA.
