WOAH okay maybe not. A 5000 gox btc wall at 0.19
3062  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 24, 2014, 12:41:37 PM
What if the guy on bitcoin builder meant to put a bid in at .19 rather than sell.

That would be hilarious and is easy to do as bitcoin builder doesnt have a proper trading interface it just remembers whether you bought or sold last time and there's no confirmation dialogues or anything...

3069  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 24, 2014, 09:40:12 AM
Well just woken up and as per usual missed a lot of the action and chance to make some easy money.

Great to see we're doing some wall observing!

Predictions for the day then?

Mine: No gox announcement, price to fall back to around $100 in gox and stamp to follow to about $550

I don't think them clearing up their twitter of bot automated responses is a bad thing. If they deleted their twitter then maybe but just getting rid of their tweets is just a chance to spread more FUD for the manipulators

What are the changes we'll get that gox update on monday?
Well its Monday morning in Japan already, don't you think if they had good news, it would be released first thing in the morning?

No tbh. They seem to like 7pm announcements.
3071  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which Bitcoin Client do you use and why ? on: February 23, 2014, 10:26:01 PM

For linux os I would just recommend official qt for linux.

I don't want to run a full node as like I said it will be a semi hot wallet meaning I may not turn it on for a few weeks and dont want to have to wait a couple of hours for it to sync before I could send a payment.
3072  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which Bitcoin Client do you use and why ? on: February 23, 2014, 09:28:54 PM

Electrum is too simplistic for my taste. The deterministic seed is cool but I do not like to use my addresses with an abstraction that is too far removed from what is actually going on. Heck, I don't even like the "wallet" concept, it spreads your coins across addresses you don't pick.
Eelectrum, the last time I tried, it only let you use one single set of addresses, there is not way to keep two separate amounts.

What would you recommend and why. I currently use paper wallets but want to start running a semi hot wallet on a linux laptop. Not keeping large amounts in there and not keeping it on all the time, just a way to keep some coins accessible but not on an exchange.

Right....

I'd love to say more but I really can't

What do people see as the main advantages of multibit over electrum?

Im currently using electrum but everyone is raving on about multibit. I thought the fact that electrum used deterministic seeds would make it more popular.

Anyone care to enlighten me ?

There should be no reason why a miner doesn't include non-fee transactions IF there is room in the block which as explained is the case with nearly every current block. It isn't hard to give priority to fee-paid transactions but fill the block with all others.

Most people mining don't know/ don't care that that is the system their hashing power is going towards. This is one of the huge problems with massive mining pools.
