So Satoshi is a group of people you have never met, but you have determined "he" is in prison? If you let me know which prison I will go there and confirm this.

Guantanamo
According to my sources, Satoshi Nakamoto is not a listed resident. Would you have me believe my government would LIE to me, knave?
3062  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does Bitcoin Require Regulations? on: May 30, 2014, 04:26:55 PM
To be widely adopted by every schmo in the country that wants to buy a bag of peanuts with the cool new technology: regulation desired.

To be a tool for people to avoid the persecution of governments and the control of their subjects: regulation subversion necessary, mass adoption by the moral majority undesirable.
Bitcoin is a tool, do with it what you will. Remember, tools are always neutral - you bring the morality. You shouldn't let anyone tell you how to use your tools, you need only your own ethics.

Let truth be your authority, not authority your truth.
3063  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin VS Gold :who is the winner ? on: May 30, 2014, 04:17:18 PM
Bitcoin is a digital asset and will exist as long as the internet exists. That means Bitcoin will be with us as long as modern civilization exists. Back up your wallets and you won't have a problem.

How can you say that? If something far superior comes along it could be easily forgotten about.
The only thing superior to cryptocurrency as a form of money, is post-capitalism. When that comes around you'll forget about gold, too.
3064  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin VS Gold :who is the winner ? on: May 30, 2014, 04:12:26 PM
Bitcoin is a digital asset and will exist as long as the internet exists. That means Bitcoin will be with us as long as modern civilization exists. Back up your wallets and you won't have a problem.

Therefore Bitcoin is infinitely more durable than gold, by any meaningful definition of durability.

But, once you have more than a few thousand dollars worth of silver, it takes up space!
Let me put that into recent historical perspective for you:

1 Bitcoin year = 1 silver century

Notice how these two graphs are roughly inversions of each other...

Now I ask you this, is it that silver has increased in value? Or the dollar has decreased? Perhaps both?

3066  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Its so hard to buy bitcoin these days compared to 2011 on: May 30, 2014, 02:21:38 PM
I disagree. Coinbase.com is my argument, as an American.
3067  Economy / Economics / Re: 100 yrs to mine the last million bitcoin? on: May 30, 2014, 01:59:16 PM
Volatility has nowhere near mellowed out. We are in a temporary oasis of stability. Bitcoin has tens of thousands of fiat in value to eat up still, expect more volatility on the horizon.

Realize we are still extremely early in the game here, people. We're looking at 3-5 years at LEAST before some semblance of stability.
3068  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin Really Save Money? on: May 30, 2014, 01:55:12 PM
"Will bitcoin save money?"
Short answer yes, with an if. Long answer no, with a but.

Your short answer is longer than your long answer.  Grin
I personally believe cryptocurrency is the last stage of capitalism, the transition economy to the end of this neo-feudal society. Toward a better, more just, more humane, more open, less deceptive world.
3069  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If bitcoin becomes world's reserve currency? on: May 30, 2014, 01:51:06 PM
I personally believe cryptocurrency is the last stage of capitalism, the transition economy to the end of this neo-feudal society, toward a better, more just, more humane, more open, less deceptive society.

I suppose that is up to the next generation, the ones turning 18 now, and the ones being born now. Maybe some of them are reading this. I sure hope so. We need their creativity, their energy, their youthful wisdom.
3070  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If bitcoin becomes world's reserve currency? on: May 30, 2014, 01:48:33 PM
If bitcoin becomes world's reserve currency the fraudolent bank system will dead.
We will have an honest money and a honest society.
The fraudolent and disastrous industrial policy of policy maker, in collusion with the bank system, will stop!

Who cares? He/she/they are immortalized by their creation of crypto. Stop making shitty threads.
3072  Economy / Speculation / Re: Today, my friends, after months of endurance, have broken over $600. on: May 30, 2014, 01:11:59 PM
I get a salary in btc, but its a fixed amount in USD
That's utter bullshit. Fixing your salary to fiat? An insult. What a disgrace, you should quit.
3073  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: You Can Now Buy Bitcoin Mining Hardware From Walmart, TigerDirect on: May 30, 2014, 06:44:18 AM
You're better off buying BTC.
3074  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin Really Save Money? on: May 30, 2014, 06:42:31 AM
someone with 50k btc could transfer $28500000 worth of value for only some cents in transfer costs. i'd say that could save some money.
That is accurate. By comparison to any fiat transaction, sending BTC is relatively free.

"Will bitcoin save money?"
Short answer yes, with an if. Long answer no, with a but.
3075  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If bitcoin becomes world's reserve currency? on: May 30, 2014, 06:41:14 AM
For BTC to become a reserve currency it would first have to be adopted as a national currency.

Interesting assertion. What is your rationale?
His rationale is a complete misunderstanding of the fact that Bitcoin is already Earthcoin, it doesn't need to be [insert arbitrary sub-section of Earth]coin too.
3076  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Tests $600 on Strong US Volume on: May 30, 2014, 06:38:37 AM
OP is a strong writer, but has a narrow perspective of what "instrinsic value" means. OP's definition is limited by the box of soon to be obsolete financial technology.
3077  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I am pretty confident we are the new wealthy elite, gentlemen. on: May 30, 2014, 06:35:39 AM
Are you currently putting all your money into bitcoin?  If you say this, you show you believe it by your actions.  I am putting all my money into bitcoin - I see a possibility of $50-$100+ per coin this year.  Just think, once the "bankers" and hedge funds find out about this, we are going to the moon.  Once my bitcoins are $1,000+ I will be able to pay off my growing college loans and maybe get an apartment, and my first car Smiley

Putting your money where your mouth is means you are commendable
Since most of us here are more or less long term users of Bitcoin and think a google ceo mentioned 90% are holders 10% speculate we will remain the new wealthy elite.
Interesting, I've never heard that statistic before. Can anyone confirm this ?

I do agree though that the smart money is on holding, though. I'm all in and been holding for over a year and counting. No regrets so far.
3078  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Definitive proof that Satoshi Nakamoto is James A. Donald. on: May 30, 2014, 06:32:13 AM
Does it really matter who Satoshi is?

Does it really matter which teacher at a school is sexually abusing their pre-teen students that your child doesn't attend?
Welcome to my ignore list, you insane fuck. Satoshi didn't sexually abuse anyone. What the hell kind of response is this? An insane one.
3079  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If bitcoin becomes world's reserve currency? on: May 30, 2014, 05:29:55 AM
United States will never accept that.
In this case - for once - it's up to the people of these United States, and not up to the Oligarchs of USA Inc.

We the People will embrace crypto and reject fiat, and in doing so we will sever the strongest of the threads the puppetmasters use to control us. Money.

This will also destroy the wealth of any oligarchs stupid or stubborn enough try to cling to their power over us via fiat scrip.

Say goodbye to credit scores, by the way.
