Oh.. that's Bruno's (Phinnaues Gage's) address... He quit a while ago. Thanks for pointing this other loose end to tie up out to me.

Not all people are the same. This is about tailoring btc to subgroups of people and individuals when promoting and explaining btc. I'm always looking for ways to create excitement and interest around bitcoin and every single person has a different perspective / outlook. ... But if a skateboard shop or Pokemon group accepts btc already then it's potentially an instant connection.
When targeting specific groups, you have to focus on that group's concerns and interests. For gays it's gay marriage, workplace and housing discrimination, green cards for foreign spouses, and, diminishingly, AIDS. If you can figure out how to target Bitcoin at those topics, then yay. I haven't heard back from ... the Bitcoin 100 so this specific topic may be dying soon.
I never got anything from you. Whom were you contacting? Obviously, HRC being a charity, they would qualify, though some may object, claiming that they are too political.

It all really depends on how fast they react...
That's kinda the point. Kodak still sells digital cameras, but they got into it too late. There are tons of examples of big, lumbering companies ignoring or laughing off new technologies until it's too late, and then playing catch-up for ever.

Honestly, I'm having a hard time understanding why some people here have an issue with more people using btc, especially in a manner that could potentially support basic civil rights for all people.
It's not an issue with more people using bitcoins. No one has an issue with that. It's an issue of Bitcoin not having any specifically pro-gay benefits. There is no benefit to having HRC accept bitcoins than any other large charity with devoted followers accepting bitcoins. I'm all for HRC accepting bitcoins and promoting it to their subscribers, but there's nothing specifically pro-gay about that action. I'm gay (well, bi). I know a whole bunch of other bitcoiners who are also gay. We don't use Bitcoin because we are gay or because it helps us overcome or simplify some gay-related issues. We use it because it's a good financial system, same as what everyone else uses it for.

If I could find a way to get this organization to get bitpay on their site, do you think they could be a part of bitcoin 100? http://www.santisookdogsandcats.org/en/How simple is it for someone to get bitpay on there? They have paypal there already, so is setting up bitpay similar? Probably, yeah. I don't have experience setting up BitPay, so I don't know, but I've been told it's fairly easy to do. I don't know if they have deposit options for Thailand though. You could ask them I guess?

Lol! What a silly story. I would have said, "And yet, we still don't find nails, wood planks, boats, gears, springs, watches, or anything that looks designed in nature ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) "

But the fact of the matter is when GS, MS, and JPM decide that BTC is the place to be they will blow most if not all of the current operators out of the water. Not because they are better, but because they have the resources and talent to throw hundreds of millions of dollars and tens of thousands of man hours at the same problems we are dealing with now.
Kinda like Kodak, a well established company with millions of dollars and tons of resources did to Nikon? Or Nokia did to HTC? Or Western Union did to Bell Labs? Or... Yeah, you know where I'm going with this ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif)

Bitcoin is the Swiss army knife of finance... so freakin useful! ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) No, that would be OpenTransactions. Bitcoin is one of the knives.

An even better one is the simple faith that that piece of paper with our private key that's storing thousands of our dollars is still in tact, and that the private key we've been sending money to all these years actually works.

More from Stephanie: I have not received anything from John, and let her know. Follow-up from a different John, including me in an e-mail to the SoF John On Jun 5, 2013 3:33 PM, "Jonathan Mohan" < jonathan@bitcoinnyc.org> wrote: Hey John, Stephanie is a part of Fr33aid a non profit that just received funding from Bitcoin 100, Rassah is one of the individuals who are in control of the Bitcoin 100 fund and would be the person to talk to about Songs of Love and bitcoins. ~Jonathan I also sent a follow-up e-mail to EquineAngelRescue Inc., since I haven't heard from them after e-mailing them while I was at the Bitcoin 2013 con. They are a charity being sponsored by AnthroCon, which sponsors a different animal=related charity every year and runs a fundraiser for them during the convention. Since I'll be going to the convention, I'm really hoping to get them to accept BTC, and will be talking to them in person once I'm there. BTC is a great thing for artists in general, since it's easy to use a BTC address for donations in the description section of art posts on sites like FurAffinity and DeviantArt.

Antiwar.com might qualify but I don't think The Free State Project does. They might be a worthwhile project but, according to their own site: Yeah, I concur. It's a nice idea, but it's not a charity per-se.

Sorry if this is somewhat off-topic, but could OpenTransaction's off-chain transactions and blind signatures help with this at all? (even though it would depend on some third party running an OT server)

From: Drew Phillips of BitcoinNotBombs Rassah,
Thank you for your support of Fr33Aid, The blog post and Press announcement have been pushed out by Fr33Aid.com and all of us involved are promoting the news on our various social networks.
I noticed on the forum post that you are willing to extend your offer to all 3 organizations that BitcoinNotBombs was promoting at the bitcoin conference. I have been talking with Angela Keaton from AntiWar.com about how they might add to this effort and give you the promotional push that your looking for. AntiWar.com has a large community of readers that we would like to help you reach. I have included her on this email and we would like to discus how we might best work together on this.
Thoughts on funding the second and third organizations? Do they qualify? Do you want them to do anything extra to earn the money?

I was keeping hope after the last update by Roman but I have now just signed the dept off in my mind.
I do know I will not touch anything Roman is running, it is clear he needs A.D.H.D meds and also really has no empathy for other people aka his customers. If he really gave a rats ass about anyone but himself he would be posting daily updates of some sort. This "can't talk about it" is bullsh*t, he could at least be vague about his due-diligence but instead he twitters all his other travels and events like nothing has happened.
He really should not be running squat from the updates on Bitcoin Musings it sounds like he is not passing information to his lawyer, another thing one would do if they actually felt bad about what happened. It just sounds like he is a "coder" hippie. One that like to code the stuff, be "in" and has absolutely no interest or care in everything else that actually matters when running a business.
Well, according to his own tweets he will be back in NY from his NorCal vagabond vacation sometime in the first weeks of June.. which should be relatively shortly (relative to how long we've already been made to wait that is) so I dare say we may actually hear a new word out of Shtylman sometime in the next week .. or two? God who the fuck knows Bitfloor - The BFL of Bitcoin Exchanges.

Yeah, FYI, I'm gay, and I have NO IDEA how, or even why, to approach this. There really is no benefit, aside from tax dodging, that bitcoin can provide to the gay community. Now if you were to ask about the furry community, 75%+ of which is gay, I would suggest target their artists, who currently rely on PayPal to sell their art, including porn, and who regularly get their accounts frozen by PayPal for selling porn. Or on a less risque side, target places like FurAffinity and have artists post a bitcoin address in the comment section of the art they post to solicit donations. The big issue you'll rn into, though, is that furries AND gays are typically liberal, so they'll instinctively reject anything that has to do with capitalism or conservative economics.

My point exactly. "Positive things" How do you say, the gay community is a positive thing?
Uh... hm.... maybe something with redecorating?... nah, I got nothing ![Embarrassed](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/embarrassed.gif)
