Judging any coin by the value quoted especially from an exchange is driving a car while looking back, dnote is to young for the noise the market price will increase while there are focus miners and undying community. Examples of coins like that is quark (less than 100 satoshi) coin greatly under valued but surprise us all, dogecoin (less than 30 satoshi) was a twin brother to lot coin in value but today everybody want it; to mention but a few.
Please allow the dev to stay focus and head straight however positive contributions are welcomed

Very good observations.  At this stage DNotes is worth what the next buyer is willing to pay, very much based supply and demand, and to some extend their knowledge of the DNotes team and the community behind it. Frankly at this point, with very generous giveaways, bounties, limited time large mining rewards, DNotes are relatively easy to come by. In less than two weeks the extra mining reward will end, dropping from 1000 DNotes per block to 250 DNotes per block. More likely than not, a lot more people would have heard of DNotes, and perhaps with many more stake holders at that time. Now that it has been added to CoinMarketCap, DNotes should be gaining more visibility. We now have a new yardstick and a goal post to measure up with. For the records, DNotes is starting at position 135 among a class of 153 on March 8, 2014, 11:00 am (CT).

Keep all the great ideas coming. Pick the best of the top selections and turn them into action plans. A well planned campaign to promote awareness and participation of women in the digital currency world will be a much needed contribution to our industry. As a sub-group we may want to recruit a number of women owned small businesses. That number could be 10, 50, or 100. I will share more details if this get to level two.

But what if she assisted in completing 100 tasks over the next couple of years and earned 100,000 DNotes and let’s assume that by the time the kid started college one DNote is worth USD0.50. $50,000 college fund may not be so bad.

Again, Excellent idea.

Keep it up!   I deleted most of your quote to keep the quote chain beast under control.

On a different... Note... $0.01 a DNote means a total market cap of $5 million. Thats TOTAL!  Right now it would mean 500k.  That may still be too much right now unless of course you're speculating.  What I am saying is the value isn't quite there yet BUT the potential value is definitely there.  This is the IPO, community members are organizing.  I'm seeing DNotes note as a commodity but more as a company.  The business is the facilitation of transactions and the product we're selling to conduct this business is DNotes.  This initial investment incentive is the mining of DNotes to build network security.  Because without a robust mining network the security of transactions is non-existent.

Good idea.  Keep this space clean and to the point.

I am not a stock analyst but this is my take on valuation. DNotes like all the others Altcoin at its formative stage are pure speculations. No one with any financial discipline should invest any more than what they could afford, potentially a total loss. I am in awe taking notice of some other altcoins showing a market cap of $500 + million hours after its launch and  dropped down to $200 million in 24 hours. There are no fundamentals to support even a fraction of that value. Yet like mindless zombies many little guys with a few hard earned dollars are taken to the cleaners again and again.

If DNotes were to succeed as the digital currency of the future with lasting value it has to take a very different path to reach that mountain top. It must build a solid foundation, block by block, systematically, while executing its strategic plans at the most opportune time which may often conflict with that of speculators.  Long term stake holders of DNotes or any other Altcoin , for that matter,  are merely securing an opportunity to share the potential of the future value of the currency they believe in. It they are right the “buy-in” value will go up. Sometime at the early stage, active stake holders are give a chance to increase their stake through “sweat equity” and even help to shape the future of the investment they believe in. Given the opportunity, I normally prefer to have some participation in the value creation process of my investment. Hopefully, many stake holders will see this as a unique opportunity and participate to the best they can.

Hello everyone:
I would like to say that I think this is a promising project, and I think we can have success with it.

I see we are looking for ideas, and one thing I heard on the news is something like 95% of Bitcoin users are men.
see story
http://upstart.bizjournals.com/money/loot/2014/02/21/bitcoin-needs-more-women-users.html?page=all

So my idea is lets reach out with Dnotes to get more groups involved.
Maybe start up donation drives for woman's causes, or special matching program for that kind of idea.
If we can get groups that prior cryptocurrency systems have ignored I believe this can be very successful.
We should also make sure that everyone has a way and understanding of how to get dnotecoins even on lower end machines

Excellent idea.  For DNotes to be adopted as the digital currency of the future with lasting value, DNotes must be willing and able to do things that others can’t or wouldn’t do. This includes identifying underserved groups such as women. There are a lot of very important issues women care deeply about. Specifically, various health issues such breast cancer, college savings for their children and many more. How about a drive to set up 10,000 DNotes college saving wallets with 100 DNotes to start off and mom can own a lot more through various participations to help DNotes grow. For example a few stay home moms, with PR experience and writing skills can become DNotes PR department and get paid in DNotes for the work they contribute. It may not seem much for mom assisting in the production of one press release and earn 1000 DNotes deposited in the kid’s college fund today.  But what if she assisted in completing 100 tasks over the next couple of years and earned 100,000 DNotes and let’s assume that by the time the kid started college one DNote is worth USD0.50. $50,000 college fund may not be so bad.

I am just trying to expand on this great idea and the numbers used are only conceptual. If there is sufficient support to go forward, as I understand from the Dev., someone needs to volunteer as the project leader and come up with specific proposals. My understanding is that if there is sufficient participation resulting in worthy projects, the project leaders and a few strong supporters will be advanced to Level Two, which is not opened to the general public. Video game anyone?  If you don’t finish level one, you don’t advance to play in level two. This could be a lot of fun.

Again, Excellent idea.

In life everyone get a "lucky break" sometime, some more often than others. Most are clueless and missed the opportunity only to come back later and say "I should have bah/bah/bah.

I was once a very active participant at the infancy stage of personal computers. I invested a great deal of time and money in a company that designed, manufactured, and marketed portable computers and pen-based tablets  with 88, 286, 286SX, 486 CPUs some with GPS, wireless communication, and voice reorganization capabilities. In the early 1990s they were considered leading technologies and as such gave me the opportunity to meet and conference with many high level people in our industry. Being young and ambitious I was never short of questions in my quest to find out why some people, some companies are so much more successful than others. Why so many "me too" failed. I have heard many stories of success and failures. Some I know are factual and others have yet to be confirmed.

Let me share one story with you concerning a "lucky break" if it is true. In the early 1980s a team of IBM engineers in Boca Raton, Florida were convinced that the next wave of computer technologies will become mainstream with a personal computer on every desk. Unable to convince corporate to fund their R&D project to develop a personal computer and a disk operating system (DOS) they went ahead anyway with a rather small budget. Anxious to get some real life feed back they signed up to display their new generation of PC at a computer show in Chicago. As it was told they were working with and counting on Digital Research (DR DOS) to provide the operating system. Unfortunately, as a small company then, Digital Research team decided support another computer exhibition in Europe, which they believe was more promising. Reportedly, IBM engineers were in a desperate mode, struggling with a Disk Operating System that just didn't work. One of the IBM engineers found out that two young men (Bill Gates and Paul Allen) were working on a version of DOS and so they contacted them. Bill Gates immediately recognized that this was their "luck break". He seized the opportunity, negotiated a great deal and delivered what he promised.  The rest is history.

The bitcoin and altcoin today reminds me of the 1990s. Anyone who knew where to order motherboards, power supplies, computer housings and computer mointors could claim to be a computer manufacturer. There were thousands of them. Very few were left standing in less than ten years. I believe it takes a lot more than just building a large and strong community. It takes a total package that is substaibale and backed by truly trustworthy commitments.

Over the past few days, I do not see any development.
Coin only falls. The complexity is reduced.
Number of posts does not increase.
Authors have left the project?
We can say that the project is dead?

You may be so conditioned to the norm of “Pump and Dump” when one is absent your immediate instinct is  “ We can say that the project is dead?”  Hopefully, one day you will come to realize that the reverse is true. DNotes is a long term play and not a get rich scheme. It is taking a very different path to reach the mountain top. It is not a “me too” in a very crowded space. If you follow DNotes posts closely you may (but you may) come to realize that there is a DNotes difference. Those who can recognize it will see this as a buying opportunity and those who don’t will sell low to provide the opportunities.

So, I am constantly refreshing this thread, and oft-times met with no new post.

Let's make this more lively.

DNotes is a cryptocurrency for the future. So then, what exactly is in store for the future? And how can cryptos, generally, and DNotes specifically, help facilitate life in the future as you see it?

There's no wrong ideas when your brainstorming.

The future, to me, is going to be one of technological pervasiveness. It's going to be everywhere. And by everywhere, I mean a totally different kind of everywhere. An everywhere that can be described by what I call a Triple Convergence (sort of an updated version of the Triple Convergence detailed Friedman's "The World is Flat"). We have the Semantic Web, The Web of Things, and Artificial Intelligence. This internet which has so vastly improved the lives of the entire planet is going to become massively larger. Every nook and cranny is going to be armed with simple intelligence, and will gather data. Like a trillion tiny sensors lining roads that communicate and direct your self driving cars. Refrigerators, microwaves, toys, smoke alarms, all with IP address. And then with the Semantic Web, we are going to take all of that data and connect it more deeply. So, this massive network is going to become streets more massive, far more connected...and increasingly large portions of the new network will be run by AI that ever more closely approximates the reasoning capabilities of human intelligence.

Technology will be then be pervasive. I'm talking pervasive in a way that makes technology today look like child's play.

For me, cryptos represent a way to maintain control amidst all of this pervasiveness. Don't get me wrong, our collective quality of life will improve immeasurably and in untold awesome ways. But all that progress will have a cost. And I think altcoins represent a significant piece of insurance against technological progress stifling our humanity. I don't want to be controlled, and I don't want financial companies, among others, to have the kind of power over me that they do now. For example, Visa is larger than Disney. Mastercard is larger than Boeing and McDonald's.

They are that big because of the centralized power of current wealth transfer paradigms. Decentralized, superrrrr-secure paradigms with broad support, like DNotes, are perfect cogs to be a part of running the "anti-machine."

MinningHabit  is right.  We need to make this space more lively. However, I must confess that I don’t spend much time posting. I do check back quite often and feel increasing more convinced that DNotes has a good chance in taking a leadership position in the digital currency world. Many of you have articulated the DNotes difference, compared the other crypto currencies, very well. It is absolutely, essential to build a strong community. However, that is only one of many components required to be truly successful over the long haul. Among others, sustainable funding to support the community, branding, marketing, technology enhancement are of great importance.  As reflected in multiple postings, the DNotes team understands the challenges and had this to say in their last posting: “Unlike many other crypto currencies you may be familiar with, our investment in marketing and development will continue indefinitely.”  It is not likely, that the DNotes team will show their hand, so to speak, by disclosing their business plan. However, one can learn a lot by carefully observing how the team has skillfully executed its plan systematically at the appropriate time. This could take DNotes very far with plenty of opportunities for DNotes supporters with the right skill sets to participate.

It's always better to be caustious. I asked myself the same question when I first heard about them. To give myself some comfort, after I set up an account with Allcoin Exchange, I transferred a small amount from both Coinbased and Cryptsy to Allcoin successfully. This was followed with a larger amount sufficient to trade and withdraw. Both attempts to withdraw BTC from Allcoin to Coinbase and Cryptsy were prompt and successful. I have made a number of purchases and have not experienced any problem. I can only report my own experence. Everyone should use best practices to protect themself.

I don't get it. Who is that idiot who sells NOTEs a little over 300 satoshi?

Everyone sees value differently. It may be a good thing that some are willing sell low and let others with limited resources to buy in and join our growing community of stake holders. Our strong believers will also have the opportunity to increase their stake.

DNotes is a diamond in the rough for stake holders with patience and appreciation for lasting value. May be not so much for those expecting “pump and dump” so common in the crypto currency world. DNotes’ team has impressed many with a flawless launch and now totally focused in building a strong community with generous giveaways everywhere. Quite refreshing to see a very  dedicated team with strong commitment in creating value for long term stakeholders with no sign of participating in selling (dumping) at Allcoin, the only exchange currently available to trade DNotes.
