3061  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: RX 3060 and 3070 tis? on: April 01, 2022, 01:02:11 PM
Hey guys,

Ive been mining for the last 4 years but my GPU's are old. 1080's and 1080 ti's. I was wondering if the 3060 and 3070 ti's are worth it? Is there a better option?
I think that you have the best option now if you have inexpensive electricity.
If you buy Nvidia, then I would choose RTX A2000 and other series. I do not advise you to buy shit from the LHR series at an increased price. Or AMD 6600-6800 series.

Disable graphics card backlight. This will save you a few watts. And after assembling the farm, carefully connect the wires so that they do not fall into the fans. If your power supply's fan is horizontal, it's best to mount the power supply vertically. Less dust will get into your PSU and the fan will last longer.
Hi @FP91G I've tried all possible means to off these graphic cards back lights through hiveOS but its not working, the information dropped by @5W-Kilo isn't working either, how can I turn off the back light?
I only have 1 option. You need to install Windows on another hard drive and turn off the backlight using a utility from the manufacturer. Then boot from the HDD with Hive OS or
3063  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Planning to be a Flux long term holder on: March 31, 2022, 09:43:19 AM
I plan to mine thousand of flux for future sake, this coin is one of the best Pow project out there after Ethereum I believe its possible that Flux will hit 10$ per coin some day, I want to use 12x 1660 graphic cards to start mining Flux, what do you think about this plan?
If you use RTX 1660 video cards, then mine the most profitable coin, and then buy other coins. I'm not a very good investor, but don't bet on just one coin. If you don't win then you lose 100%.

"According to some mining profitability blogs, the ROI (return of investment) for the BC250 mining card is around 440 to 530 days (assuming that each card costs 999 USD). Considering that Ethereum is expected to switch to Proof of Stake model at some point this year, this ROI might be extended indefinitely."

There are cheaper graphics cards on the market now with a better payback period.
3065  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Is Air conditioner healthy for GPU rigs? on: March 31, 2022, 09:33:11 AM
It has long been known that air conditioners consume more electricity than ventilation, but not all rooms can be equipped with ventilation for mining. Therefore, air conditioning solves many problems in many situations if you have inexpensive electricity.
3066  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Only 80 MH/s with RTX 3080 non LHR?? on: March 31, 2022, 09:25:01 AM
Hello,

I bought a MSI RTX 3080 Ventus 3x 10G OC "non-LHR" but I do get only around 80 MH/s when mining ETH with latest t-rex miner. Do you understand why? I thought it should be around 95 - 100 MH/s.
Please have a look on my settings:

try setting Memory Clock : in the range +1000 +1200.
But first you need to solve the throttling problem. The memory temperature is 110 degrees after 9 minutes, this indicates a very poor cooling system or poor-quality thermal pads.
If you want a stable hash rate, then you will most likely need to change thermal pads. Red Panda Mining has good videos on this.
3067  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Between A2000 and 2060super on: March 31, 2022, 09:16:09 AM
I always write slightly inflated values for calculating electricity consumption. If you are lucky and all video cards will work in 70watt/41 megahash mode, then this is very good. But not all video cards can be that good, so the actual hashrate may be less and the power consumption may be higher.

All the A2000 that I've worked with are locked down at 70watts because they are pcie power only.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b_X6zZl7sNo&t
6х NVIDIA RTX A2000: 483 watts/254 megahash     8min 45sec
Red Panda Mining always has the best performance for YouTube videos.

6x RX 6600 XT:  440 watts/192 megahash
I would still consider the option with these video cards.
I forgot that the A2000 does not have an additional power supply, so it is correct to consider the consumption of 70 watts.

3068  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 1070s/1080s are still good in 2022? on: March 31, 2022, 08:55:34 AM
The only one I would get is 1080 as with the pill it supports up to 45 Mhsh in Ethereum Classic which many think it will be the de facto standard for mining after Eth moves to PoS if it ever will.No matter people say that they will they risk to lose a lot by such move. The 1080 at 35 Mhsh in Ethereum still gives quite a decent profit daily for its age and I think from the three mentioned card the only one I would still buy now is the 1080.
35 Mhsh in Ethereum is the best option, but some of my video cards do not want to give more than 33 Mhsh. For Ethereum classic with a 3 GB DAG file, this is certainly a good solution, but it is still unknown what profit will be when mining Ethereum classic.
3069  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 1070s/1080s are still good in 2022? on: March 30, 2022, 01:11:55 PM
Do you think that gtx1080 and 1070 have a place in 2022 for mining? The oldest card for mining now is rx580 I believe but if you are in a situation of picking a rig with 580s or 1080/1070 in 2022 which one will it be?
I have many of these video cards, they are good, because they have worked for more than 5 years. But you need to understand that it is very difficult to buy these video cards in good condition. Most video cards have a broken cooling system and I use regular 80x80 or 90x90 coolers. Some video cards do not work well in overclocking. I know perfectly well all the problems of my video cards, but I would not buy someone else's GPU.

Zilliqa sets new records. I sold it for almost 10 cents, which I have been mining for the last six months, but Ethereum Classic did not have time to sell. I will probably prefer Ethereum mining, because it will end soon, and I will always have time to mine Ethereum Classic.
3071  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Is Air conditioner healthy for GPU rigs? on: March 30, 2022, 12:58:37 PM
Can I set up an Air conditioner for my mining farm? I'm not sure if the air conditioner will affect my GPUs negatively or not, if you are using Air Conditioner pls say something.
I use a split system in the office. For 2,5 kilowatts of power that video cards consume in the summer, you need to use a split system with a consumption of 700 watts, otherwise it is very hot in the office. Do not use mobile or floor standing air conditioners, split system only.
3072  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Do I have to buy new Motherboard on: March 30, 2022, 12:52:52 PM
I have a motherboard that was specifically for crypto mining with 6 slots available and I have 9 GPUs Nvidia GTX 1660, how can I use these graphic card on a motherboard with just 6 PCIe slots available?
The best thing to do is build the first farm for 6 video cards, and buy a second motherboard for other video cards. Then you can buy any video cards of the 1000-3000 series.

Thank you!
It as definitive a non LHR.

Which miner under Windows would you suggest for that card? I mine only with the 1 card currently, while I don't use it for gaming. Some years ago I used ethminer, but I don't know if it is still state-of-the-art.
ethminer seems to be an old miner, although it works fine and stably with 10x0 series video cards. Try these miners. Poolin.me has made a good selection for you and all relevant download links.

Hello,

I bought a used MSI RTX 3080 Ventus 3x 10G OC "non-LHR" for Ethereum mining and wanted to know if it is necessary to update the BIOS to get better hashrates. What do you think?
First, check the hashrate in Ethereum mining. If your hashrate is around 90 megahash, then you don't need to do anything. If your video card turns out to be an LHR version, then choose a miner with the maximum hashrate. Although this is offset by increased power consumption and overheating.

The topic has already been discussed. RTX 3050 is a bad graphics card for mining, but maybe its price has already dropped and it is worth making a new calculation for investment.

Its profit is worse than the old AMD Radeon RX 480 8GB.

I don't have money for graphic cards now but I do have a CPU with ryzen 7 I want to know if there is any CPU mining I can join and make some profit from presently.
https://www.nicehash.com/profitability-calculator
This is a very simple solution if you don't want to read forums and look for new coins. But with 1 ryzen 7 processor, the profit will be very small, but you can mine cryptocurrencies at a time when you do not need a computer.
3079  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Between A2000 and 2060super on: March 30, 2022, 12:01:21 PM
Between a A2000 GPU and RTX 2060 super which one is better for mining? The A2000 is for sale at 500$ and the RTX2060 super is for sale at 394$, which one is a better buy?
NVIDIA RTX A2000 6GB consumes less power, 85 watts instead of 120 watts for NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 Super, but RTX A2000 costs more. If power consumption is not the most important indicator for you, then it is better to buy GeForce RTX 2060 Super, because it is easier to sell it later.
