3061  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 10 years ago, when bitcoin was about to reach $1... on: February 11, 2021, 06:20:13 AM

Back then, Bitcoin getting into $1 was already a big milestone. That post is very nostalgic to all those who have been in Bitcoin for the past ten years and who are able to really hold and was not tempted to forego whenever the coin reach a bigger price milestone. Now, I am wondering what can be the comments of the people who will be reading these 10 years from now. Will they be celebrating because BTC has already surpassed the 1 million mark...? Let's wait and watch.
3062  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Iam I being scammed? please help on: February 11, 2021, 06:13:18 AM

I really don't understand how you can be trusting someone with that huge amount when you know that you are only communizing via online. I have seen so many of these scammers in social media, and they are mostly using obviously fake pictures. Just ask them to share another selfie flashing a V sign, and he will stop dealing with you. Inf act, if there is one thing that Facebook should be censoring it must be posts that promises a thousand times return for money invested because they are 100% scams. I am sympathizing with your loss but this is what online education all about. I was scammed too in the past and those were involving Bitcoin...had I just hodl my Bitcoin they could have been already so valuable today.
3063  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 0.56% of BTC market cap are now held by public listed companies on: February 10, 2021, 05:01:19 PM

Certainly, there can be an appropriate reaction in terms of regulations from the government sooner or later...they can be subtly packaged or really an out-and-open pronouncement of policy regarding cryptocurrency and those companies involved. However, am not seeing a direct impact yet on small retail investors like you and me though on matters of taxes there can be more as years go by. Maybe the other issue here is what can the possible side effects will the holdings of big corporations to the world of cryptocurrency and decentralization...will there be nothing or something may crop up later?
3064  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is APPLE buying BTC speculation?? on: February 10, 2021, 04:57:13 PM

When the news is not coming from people who are officially involved with Apple then most likely the news is just like that...rumor or speculation. And a rumor can sell more attention than real news that is why some "prestigious" media organizations can be using the strategy to sell more space and traffic. Anyway, this is a good rumor since this is sending a good message to Apple to also follow the lead started by Tesla...but we don't know if they will be biting. Let's just watch and learn.
3065  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Keep bitcoin in Coinbase or move to a private wallet? on: February 10, 2021, 04:51:53 PM
You have some good choices in here. As stated by others here in this thread, in case you are looking at holding Bitcoin for a long time then having a hardware wallet can be the best option otherwise you may keep it on Coinbase. I understand that there are some concerns on Coinbase being a centralized platform and under the jurisdiction of USA laws but all of these things are risks we have to face when dealing with cryptocurrencies. For now, the most important thing is that you got the options in your hands.
3066  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Your opinion on SafePal project and Token future on: February 10, 2021, 01:12:04 PM

I was lucky enough to get around 70 Safepal token from the airdrop. I never promoted the said project so that is why I just got some but am not complaining as it is already a big blessing for me. Many people consider SafePal to be a good platform and it got the support of some heavyweights no wonder it landed in the Binance exchange easily, and hence the surge in price of the tokens. One of the things I noticed these days of the bull run is that it can be easier for a good platform to get the attention they are looking for and the support of the marketplace resulting into their own kind of a bull run too.
3067  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Elon musk changed the market circles on: February 10, 2021, 01:05:12 PM
In 2017, the bull run was then led by retail investors or by the people like you and me, and consequently it was not able to sustained it through 2018...then we experienced the excruciating crypto winter pushing people to question their involvement worth cryptocurrency. Now, the coming in of the big investors changed the whole game. They got big money, and they are here for the long-term. No more weak hands, as they say. Elon Musk has just become the very symbol of these big investors who are getting into Bitcoin. And there can be more in the next months of 2021.
3068  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: What happened to https://etherdelta.com/ on: February 10, 2021, 12:56:58 PM
Well i guess people have moved on to a better and more advanced alternatives in the likes of uniswap, 1inch, etherdelta was a pain to begin with, it was the reason i never liked dex, because back then the interface was to shabby for me, nobody uses them again so what do you expect! and it doesn't seem as if the devs wants to keep the place running, it looks deserted.

We have the same story. I really hate dealing with a DEX platform before because it was so difficult for me, not so user-friendly and there was even one time that I lost a token worth $100 in a DEX all because I was so confused back then. No wonder that when better and more user-friendly DEX platforms came in, the market shifted. Of course, who would not want to let go of those old and crazy DEX when the new ones are much better?
3069  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why do people follow Elon Musk? on: February 10, 2021, 12:53:21 PM

There must be something with Elon Musk so that he can easily attract attention and can easily gain influence over something. I am sure that somehow we are overrating him, but that is just natural for someone who is popular. There will come a time when many people will be questioning his influence but for now let's leave it for the moment to enjoy the shine of his glory. Well, he is very successful, and he has a good track record of accomplishment in his pocket, maybe that can be the big reason why he is adored by many.

Now, the next question is: How long will his magnetic influence in the world of cryptocurrency can last? Let's see and watch...
3070  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Hits Record $48.2K on: February 10, 2021, 08:33:14 AM

The big party has just landed. Soon, more and more corporate buying of Bitcoin can be creating a big lack of supply and hence the price can be growing up and up. Bitcoin is now officially the darling of many moguls and some are already preparing to make their moves in anticipation of this coin's price reaching as high as $100K this year. Elon Musk definitely has opened the Pandora Box and there is nothing that can sealed it again.
3071  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Nigeria CBN false statements about Bitcoin on: February 10, 2021, 08:29:21 AM

What can we expect? In many cases, it is the government itself that is entertaining false ideas with something that can be beyond their own control, and they usually use some flimsy alibis to rationalize something. And this is what happened with the latest decision from CBN regarding cryptocurrencies especially on Bitcoin. CBN should have some creativity of at least having a group of experts to look into this whole matter so they can come up with regulations that can obstruct financing of terrorism with cryptocurrencies while at the same time not totally banning the whole thing. Shame...but what can the people of Nigeria do? They can still own cryptos, of course but exchanging them to cash can be harder though not still impossible as peer-to-peer exchange can still be done.
3072  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why was Musk so late to the party? / or Publically support BTC on: February 10, 2021, 08:23:09 AM
Musk was involved with paypal, and has access to a lot of high tech and high tech advisors. Why then was he so late to support BTC?

I am sure that many people in cryptocurrency can be asking the same question. And I think only Elon Musk can be able to supply the right answer to that. However, he is known as a big supporter of cryptocurrency for a long time, it is just that he was not known to have accumulated a big number of coins, and it is only now that his Tesla company decided to join the Bitcoin party. Well, we should never be complaining considering that he made the move at the right time. Elon is such a big influence and now the most powerful man in the world of cryptocurrency as anything he can say will have waves in the market.

3074  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Elon Musk is Opening The Pandora Box on: February 09, 2021, 03:07:04 AM

The entrance of Tesla - the very company that is always associated with Elon Musk -- into Bitcoin catapulted the coin into another new ATH at the moment and there is that possibility that soon we can finally see BTC breaking the $50K zone.

With the announcement of the investment of $1.5 Billion into Bitcoin and maybe accepting the coin as payments for its products and services, Elon Musk and Tesla can be opening the big Pandora box for other big corporate entities especially in the USA to also join the fray. Right now, there is that rumor for Apple to also do the same thing.

Such is the power of influence that Elon Musk is having in his fingertips, literally and figuratively. So do you think that this scenario can be possible - the coming in of more corporate buyers into Bitcoin?
3075  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Ang dahilan ng btc pump (tesla) on: February 09, 2021, 02:59:59 AM

3076  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2021-02-05] In NIGERIA: CBN HAS BANNED CRYPTO TRADING on: February 09, 2021, 02:48:53 AM

I am sure this will never kill people's interest with cryptocurrency and can instead be a big reason for more adoption but we know that if there  can be a ban for banks dealing with cryptocurrency then facilitating can be a little bit difficult though of course not impossible as there can still be peer-to-peer platforms that can be utilized by those who are really interested. I am actually sad to see the Nigerian government doing this thing, and maybe I am assuming that the many scams in the past is one of the many big reasons for this unfortunate decision. I am wishing that the people themselves should seek a clearer guidance from the government and ask that they not make things here that so difficult for those who are doing things above board.
3077  Bitcoin / Press / [2021-02-09] Cointelegraph: Will Apple be the next company to adopt Bitcoin? on: February 09, 2021, 02:40:19 AM

Earlier today, Tesla Motors announced it had made a major Bitcoin purchase and planned to introduce crypto payments in the future. Some in the industry are now speculating that Apple will be the next institutional player to adopt the crypto asset.

In a market report from Royal Bank of Canada Dominion Securities analyst Paul Steves, the introduction of the tech company into crypto could create more than $40 billion in annual revenue and make waves across the industry.

Source: https://cointelegraph.com/news/will-apple-be-the-next-company-to-adopt-bitcoin-after-tesla

I am sure this is just a speculations but not so far-pitched considering that Apple has the money, and they have the desire to maintain financial leadership into the future...they can be taking this good opportunity to be a good player with Bitcoin as the platform, just like what Tesla has done a day ago. And in case, Apple will finally decide to make a big stake in Bitcoin, this can open up an avalanche of many other big corporate entities to also join the Bitcoin party. Welcome to the real big bull run!

What is your opinion with this development?
3078  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Tesla buys 1.5 BILLION worth Bitcoins !! Good or Bad ? on: February 09, 2021, 02:07:36 AM

What Elon Musk has been doing that resulted into big pumps of Bitcoin are welcomed manipulations though of course, there are some who are raising some concerns all because we have one man who has a great power to direct the movement of the market, and we know that a concentration of power and influence is not really that good most especially that we are working for decentralization. However, don't get me wrong because I myself embrace and welcome this rise of Bitcoin due to Elon Musk.
3079  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: It's not a good rise, actually it's bad on: February 09, 2021, 02:02:00 AM
I actually agree with this assessment with things happening right now with Bitcoin though I do welcome this sudden rise due to what Elon Musk and his Tesla company has been doing in the past days. Definitely, the guy is the biggest and most famous influencer for Bitcoin right now, and he is officially now taking a stake with it when his company bought a big chunk of BTC. It is a very clever but very simple investment strategy: buy Bitcoin and then announced the decision after resulting into a big spike of the value of the investment. Right now, there is no other personality that can equal with the name of Elon in the world of cryptocurrency. Whether  this can be good or bad for the long-term growth of Bitcoin well that remains to be seen. At any rate, I am allowing Elon Musk to bask on the glory of his great influence and power.
3080  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do you think the price of Bitcoin will remain stable at this price? on: January 24, 2021, 12:10:51 PM

Nobody can be certain as to which Bitcoin will really go -- up or down especially as we are heading towards the end of January. There remains that fear among many that after the bull run there can be a crypto winter. We are hoping that it will not happen as many can be discouraged after tasting its rise as we recently experienced. Hopefully, the influx of institutional money will never stop coming in for Bitcoin which is now getting a name as a digital gold. As of the moment, all we can do is hope.
