3061  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Bitcoin Correct to $6,500? on: February 04, 2020, 04:43:20 PM
I've been in-between moving back to USDT and hodling my Bitcoin in the hopes it may reach the psychological price of $10,000. But this voice in my head that just won't go away says, a heavy dump to $6,500 is on the way. I just hate to get my hopes up high and then dashed again.

Any thoughts?

I follow one big trader on Twitter and most of the times, his predictions are spot on. He posted a tweet yesterday warning his followers that huge dump is coming this week. However, I don't like to believe others and most of the times I do my own research but this time I think he's right. But $6500 is too low. If we remain anywhere above the mark of $8700, we can sustain this dump. The price will cross $10K this month for sure. We will see $10000 earlier than $6500, believe me.
3062  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: February 04, 2020, 02:54:57 PM
It is too soon to say anything. Pep is not a young boy, he is one of the best manager world have ever seen. The team may have lost their way in home league but Champions League is entirely different.
Pep has one of the worst season since the day he became a manager and built up his reputation with Barcelona. I thought Pep has been in the worst period in his career. I won't go to surprised if Pep will get sacked at the end of this season.

Among all coaches in the world, Pep has spent most money in transfer window for one team in last decade. He had the vision for Manchester City and still trying to build the team of his dream. It will be wrong to fire him after the end of this season because his team is still under development and it may take two more years for squad to fully grow.
However, being a Barca fan I would love to see this happening. I am sure that if Pep is sacked from Manchester, his next stop will be Barcelona and I can't wait to see Messi and him playing together again.
3063  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: February 04, 2020, 01:35:59 PM
I think that Manchester City has lost motivation totally for the Premier League and if they continue in this way they will risk to fall even out of the rankings that go into Champions League. They need to wake up and start applying the football they are used too.

The way they’re playing at the moment, I think Real Madrid will destroy them in the last 16 of the CL.
Now I am also feeling same as in last few matches they are really aweful they need to work on this as they have very few days on other hand Real Madrid is doing very good job as they beat Atletico two time and on top of La Liga they can give surprise to City as now they are able to handle big matches.

It is too soon to say anything. Pep is not a young boy, he is one of the best manager world have ever seen. The team may have lost their way in home league but Champions League is entirely different. Take the example of Liverpool. The team has beaten every opponent in Premier League but was unable to beat Napoli in either of the clash. There are better teams in England than Napoli but the pressure and game-style of Champions League is entirely different and Liverpool didn't have answer for Napoli's game-play.

Another thing going in Manchester City's way is the schedule of Round of 16. They will play reverse leg at home. Stats say that team playing reverse leg at home has more chance of winning.
3064  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: XRP Price to $14 - Any thoughts? on: February 04, 2020, 01:04:17 PM
In the next bull run, Do you also believe that XRP will reach this high or do you think that this is impossible?
Are you one of those crypto investors that dislike XRP because it is centralized and most prefered to invest in other cryptos like bitcoin and ethereum?

As the article said:
"It is believed that crypto investors dislike XRP because it is arguably more centralized than Bitcoin or Ethereum."

Source: XRP Price Could Reach $14 Breaking Out from Two-Year Bear Market

Why do you think all major altcoins recovered the fall of 2018 but XRP never recovered? This is because investors lost faith in XRP. XRP is highly centralized and its supply can be increased any time on the discretion of Ripple Foundation. In the world of decentralized cryptocurrencies, why would investors like to keep such coin in their portfolio.

Forger $14, I would have hard time believing even if it reaches $1.4.
3065  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin stats to kickoff 2020 on: February 04, 2020, 12:32:27 PM
So, if you bought bitcoins at the beginning of 2019, you would have been garanteed of a 17.4% profit on your investment (Maximum one day move 17.4%) ...you just need to wait it out and sell when it reach a specific target percentage. You can set your own goal for the year and sell at that target price for a profit.

People tend to look at overall performance for the year, but within the year, there are ample opportunities for traders to make some very good profits on their Bitcoin investment, if they time everything correctly. <buying low and selling high>  Wink

Would be nice to see online wallet statistics, if you can get hold of that.  Tongue

What you are saying sounds nice in theory but no one is that professional and lucky to salvage every high and low. So better is to set one's own targets and sell immediately when the price reaches the target price. There will always the feeling of regret afterwards as the price sooner or later will cross your target price but it's better to forget that and set new targets and so on.

But I have feeling too that this year will be unprecedented year for bitcoin and most probably we will see ATH this year.
3066  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2019/20 on: February 04, 2020, 11:54:02 AM
Real is in a better situation than Barcelona, and this is because Ronaldo has left Real and Messi hasn't.
Real is trying to build a fresh team based on new young talents. On the other hand, Barcelona is going to over-go a strong crisis by the time Messi resigns or leaves to another club.

so that barcelona really only relies on messi? but I read 2025 maybe messi retired and I think he will not move from Barcelona until retirement.
Real Madrid without Ronaldo they also initially difficulties, but at this time trying to eliminate the stigma.

Zidane did fantastic job with youngsters. Players like Valverde, Rodrygo and Vinicius are delivering good performances while experienced players like Bezema and Kroos are playing their top game this season. Overall, everything happening good for Real. I'm waiting for Hazard and Asensio to return and after that attack of Real Madrid will be unstoppable.
3067  Economy / Economics / Re: agriculture and bitcoin on: February 04, 2020, 10:03:34 AM
Hello all.

Please teach me how could I use a crypto for developing agriculture in my country?

Cheers.

You have to develop the vision first. Crypto is ambiguous term, it includes lots of sub-cases like implementing cryptocurrencies, involving blockchain technology and more. You can contribute to the development agriculture in more than one way. You can either create a decentralized market for farmers to sell their produce and receive payments in cryptocurrencies or you can develop some new techniques for increasing agriculture efficiency and distribute that to farmers via blockchain technology or you can create a platform where farmers can raise loans or contribute funds as cooperative which will increase the joint-efficiency.
3068  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Quick Survey: why do you specifically use crypto to gambooool ? on: February 04, 2020, 08:17:35 AM
I think 'cannot bet in your location' is the major reason why people tune to crypto gambling. In some countries, even if gambling is not explicitly illegal but still looked sceptically by society and banks. Banks can easily track if someone using fiat gambling platforms like Bet365. This may results into freezing of bank accounts and other problems. Better play on crypto sites. If done carefully then there is 0% of getting caught of playing casino with cryptocurrencies. Mixers and no-KYC exchanges have made lives easier.
3069  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What are the most popular cryptocurrencies for investors? on: February 04, 2020, 07:21:20 AM
For me, I only trust Bitcoin and Ethereum except them, I don't give attention for the others despite some of them profitable.
That's maybe because you are looking for long term success, bitcoin is the strongest while ETH is the best altcoin when it comes to ranking.

As for me, I also trust the two but I start adding more coins in my portfolio so I could  also benefit on the success of others as in the long run it would not only be BTC and ETH that will dominate in the market, other coins also have a chance to rise especially BNB or Binance coin which is so profitable to invest.

Binance Coin have the highest potential to grow its price apart from bitcoin. The article in the OP also observes that the popularity and dominance of BNB are rising and are among top 3 coins. However, according to price and supply, it is still below other major altcoins. But things will change soon. Binance is most active crypto based business right now. It is acquiring local exchanges from different countries and committing to provide seamless trade between crypto and fiat in over 180 countries. Once we hit the bull trend, the price of BNB going to outburst the most.
3070  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Invest Crypto on: February 04, 2020, 06:31:24 AM
I am really thinking about investing over $15000 of my savings into Bitcoin. Would this be wise? Is BTC safe and stable at this point and this time?

Is BTC safe?
It depends upon what type of safety are you looking for. If you meant the safety from theft then yes bitcoin is safest way of keeping your money. Just save your bitcoin on some hardware wallet or paper wallet and it's safer than anything in the world. If you meant financial safety then no, bitcoin is still immature and can dramatically rise or fall by even 90%.

Stable, well why would you like to invest in something which is stable? Stable investments are not investments, they are securities. This property is also not present in bitcoin at this time.

So if $15000 is not highly substantial for you, I mean if you can bare the fall in value by 20-30% at times then go ahead. Eventually you will get success.
3071  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The profitability and effort put into different ways of earning bitcoin on: February 04, 2020, 06:06:02 AM

Nice explanation. I am reading Ofir Beigel's blog from 2015 and this is another great post from 99bitcoins team. However, I feel this post is fading an important goal bitcoin is trying to achieve and that is the use of bitcoin as mere means of payment. This post considering bitcoin as something unique which could only be earned through special ways like starting a faucet, signature campaign, mining or gambling. But that's not true. Bitcoin should be consider at par with normal money. I can earn bitcoins through my skills and work too. If I am top-notch developer, I can charge my fees in bitcoins. In that way, earnings would be highly profitable as well as lower risk.

This post is delusional for newbies who may get an idea that it is not possible to earn bitcoins other than these methods.
3072  Economy / Economics / Re: Crypto Taxation on: February 03, 2020, 06:09:04 PM
I totally agree with that. Governments always want to capitalize on everything that’s possible. And I’m sure that they won’t miss such a chance not to tax cryptocurrency. I don’t like it, but I don’t know what can be done about it.

Yeah, it seems illogical why government will tax something which is consider as threatening for country. Most of the governments oppose cryptocurrencies but when it comes to earn free money, they are ready to tax crypto earnings of citizens which is entirely wrong. We are generating wealth from something entirely created out of thin air. We are not using the resources of a country. Rather we are creating intangible wealth on internet using logics and powerful codes. I don't know how can government claim the share of our earnings.
3073  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Has the price of Altcoin stopped in one place? on: February 03, 2020, 05:22:56 PM
It seems that the price of Altcoin has stopped in one place and is getting lower. If the price of Altcoin stays at that fixed point, then it is very difficult for the price of Altcoin to fall. If the price of Altcoin now becomes too high, then people will start buying more and more, which will cause the price of Altcoin to go up. Is that right?

There are two trend lines going simultaneously for every altcoin and median of both determine the price of coin. One is general trend line which follows the trend of bitcoin and the other is coin specific line which follows the trend of coin itself. It's appearing that altcoins have stopped at one place because the price of bitcoin has become less volatile in last few months. But that doesn't mean it is guarantee that price will only go upwards from here. If bitcoin dumps, other coins will fall too.

Well manchester city didn't play that bad to be honest. They hit post twice, miss a penalty and many clear chances missed especially Gundogan missing that open net. They were surely lacking luck as well as confidence. Also both goals were scored when they were one man down. But whatsoever was the reason, after this match I really start losing interest in premier league. Other European Leagues are still competitive and every match is do and die but everything is looking sorted in England.

3075  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2019/20 on: February 03, 2020, 03:57:17 PM
Barca won against Levante 2:1. Nothing special, just 3 points and move on. I'm happy for Fati who had great match tonight. But I'm disappointed that Barca didn't signed any forward during transfer window. Lack of Suarez is clearly visible even against teams like Levante. And during last 30 minutes we gave too much control for Levante.

I feel Barca did huge mistake by signing Griezmann last year. Barcelona's style doesn't match to his game. If we compare him to average La Liga forward, he's playing comparatively better but stats still don't do justice to his calibre. At Atletico Madrid or in France National Team, his role is to find spaces between defensive line and midfielder pass him the through ball. But at Barca, he has to link constantly with players in order to get into game or score. Barcelona have many players in B team who can play at Left wing much better than Griezmann. Imagine if Barcelona saved $130M last year and developed Rafinha for left wing rather than shipping him to Celta and used the funds to buy Loutaro this year, the story would have been entirely different.

Anyways, I hope Griezmann develops as striker at Barcelona. He can only become legendary player at Barca if he plays as striker. This will also help France National squad which is looking substitute for aging Giroud.
3076  Economy / Economics / Re: Crypto Investment on: February 03, 2020, 03:06:13 PM
This is a Bitcoin/Cryptocurrency forum man, so all of the response will be in favour of crypto, haha.

Investing in crypto is undeniably worth it, short term or long term investment Cryptocurrency will be the king of it. Just see the market fluctuations that what traders want good ups and dumps, regular trading or marginal trading as long as you know what you are doing you will get an instant and quick profit. Don't you know how to trade? Just go for long term investment, and I am sure that it will pay you well here in crypto.

I think you missed the point OP wants to convey and discuss. Rather than discussing whether cryptocurrencies worth investing or not, he is pointing out the idea of systematic investment. Most of the crypto traders are naïve and choose the time and amount of investment arbitrarily. But that's wrong. Best out of best investments fail if not invested on right time. Reading market is equally important in case of cryptocurrencies as any other investment.

Several people made investment in XRP and TRX trusting the word of mouth few years ago and today their folio is down by 80-90%.

By the way, this thread is more appropriate in Trading Discussion section IMO.
3077  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Promote bitcoin through any means. It'll work! on: February 03, 2020, 02:23:00 PM
Yeah! We can promote bitcoin by any mean. Once I lent my friend $100 and he messaged me on WhatsApp after 3 months asking bank accounts details to return the money. But I asked him to pay me in bitcoin instead. He heard about bitcoin for the first time. Anyhow, he bought bitcoin worth $250 as exchange didn't allow him to buy lower than that and sent me $100. Two days later I received his message again. This time he told me that his balance magically rose from $150 to $185. Then I explained him about the magic of bitcoin.

Fast forward to present, he is active bitcoin investor and have over $20K invested in bitcoin. This is the power of bitcoin and I am happy to contribute to its success.  Smiley
3078  Economy / Economics / Re: Countries with banks to buy and sell cryptocurrencies on: February 02, 2020, 06:04:36 PM
Allowing customers to exchange their cryptocurrencies directly from bank is actually smart move by government. In this way government will have more control and information regarding crypto transactions. But the outlook towards bitcoin is still negative in most of the countries so I don't think more countries will follow the footsteps of Germany.
3079  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Proof of Work problem? on: February 02, 2020, 05:37:26 PM
Is there still a significant number of miners with the equipment required to process proof of work for bitcoin?  Is there a danger in that the cost to run such equipment being so high that it leaves very few miners able to afford to do the proof of work, and thus it leaves only one or two miners and introduces the possibility through collusion to start manipulating the blockchain?

It is wrong to believe that any single individual can act as a dominant force. If someone takes the mining difficulty to the level that it becomes too difficult for others to mine due to the high cost of equipment then either of the following two things will happen:

  • That someone would be a pool where thousands of miners collaborate as single force so even though one unit of processing power is mining block but the mining reward will still be distributed among number of miners.
  • The price of bitcoin will rise too high that buying additional equipment for mining will become relatively cheaper to block reward. So new competition to above pool will enter in the scope.
3080  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 100 Days Left before Bitcoin to be more Scarce on: February 02, 2020, 03:44:32 PM
The title of the thread is quite misleading. Bitcoin won't become scarce. Supply will still be increasing after halving but the increase in supply will slow down. In other words, we can say inflation of Bitcoin will decrease.

  • And other reason is because of the volatility of bitcoin that could be easily impacted because of this event. Bitcoin is known to be bullish anytime, even with just understanding its graph if it is overbought or oversold. Price could be driven very fast because of this reason, what more if a very big event that is anticipated by many becomes closer to happen.

I don't think volatility has anything to do with supply. It is rather effected by adoption. If the supply will be distributed among greater mass then the price will stabilize automatically. Change in the supply won't change the volatility, rather I believe volatility increases after halving.
