3061  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Should i just move to china and farm bitcoins? on: June 05, 2015, 03:46:50 PM
You could move to Washington and get $0.03/kWh.  I've actually considered it but don't want to relocate.  I think it would be fairly easy to set up a property to make more than it's mortgage by mining bitcoins.  Especially since you could mine using mostly free equipment donated by those who are no longer profitable.

Where did you find that Shocked ?

couldnt exactly find something that cheap, but I did find this simple list of energy costs in the US: http://www.npr.org/sections/money/2011/10/27/141766341/the-price-of-electricity-in-your-state

So how do i clean my browser of plugins?

again, so little information provided on your part. as a general guide, there should be some sort of extensions/plugins under the "tools" section of the browser, but I highly doubt youd need to remove adblock to use 2FA. the warning is more directed towards suspicious plugins like a free wallpapers toolbar.
3063  Economy / Gambling / Re: sawdice the New Age of Dice - Let's play a game. on: June 05, 2015, 02:41:05 PM
This is quite disappointing, I think this should be taken as a wake up call to not trust very newly built website with huge amount of money and since some people are not investing any more in Ponzi/HYIP schemes, this is their new policy, grab a cheap domain/script and make a new gambling site with free dice script or something else.

And people will start rolling there without giving it a second though and once the site has enough deposits, just shut it up, grab the money and start another project. Thankfully I didn't deposit anything in it because of being busy. But I would suggest others to not deposit big amount of BTC in fresh sites, although this would affect the legit sites but this is how it has to be until a site is considered safe.

the distrust drama happened with the DaDice release, maybe people got lax with this one coming out. This is also why many people ask for a no deposit bonus of some sort to test the site and prove its legitimacy.

The distrust drama began during the time of dicebitco.in and diceninja. I dont think that people are lax coz I didn't saw any complaints in these thread of deposits and withdrawals..

maybe I misworded; I meant there was a lot of distrust of DaDice when they released, and the distrust just didnt seem as apparent in this thread.

with the still little info youve provided, the only thing I can think of is that youve mistyped either your password or 2FA code, double and triple check.
3065  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: help on: June 05, 2015, 01:43:24 PM
so little information for us to work with here; you should provide info with what wallet (specifically) youre using as well as what type of 2FA youre using at the very least for anyone to be able to help you.

Terrible reply from the noobs  Roll Eyes

If you want any control or more centralization , you will need a POS coin with premine phase.

something along the lines of auroracoin right?
3068  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Should i just move to china and farm bitcoins? on: June 05, 2015, 12:49:40 PM
if all three of you are already seriously considering this, id say start looking into places for housing and hosting your mining farm; if you can get clean electricity thats even better and cheaper (just a passing thought)
3069  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Should i just move to china and farm bitcoins? on: June 05, 2015, 12:45:25 PM
depends on a few things, do you have enough capital to invest in and maintain a mining farm that would generate an income enough you could live off of? if so i'd give it serious consideration.

it also helps if you speak chinese.
3070  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: They're mining with light bulbs now. What's next? on: June 05, 2015, 12:02:28 PM
Ahh,The Vibraminer™!!!! Mine with Pleasurepower!!!!  Grin  Cheesy

or The Vagiminer™  Cheesy

say hello to the future
3071  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Mining rig under 1000$ on: June 05, 2015, 11:59:53 AM
GPU mining will return next to nothing nowadays, and for under 1000 dollars it'd take some time to see a breakeven on investment. you might want to try ebay and see if you can get a nice deal on an S3 as notlist3d said above, but dont expect bank to start rolling in or anything.
3072  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: How & Where do I start in mining ........ on: June 05, 2015, 11:54:24 AM
Best advice is to start of slow. Maybe buy a used miner and make sure your electricity in your area is reasonable. Then just treat it like a hobby and have fun.

a hobby is probably the best way to go about mining, too much to worry about if you do it for profit; constantly selling and buying miners, the randomness of finding a block, etc.
3073  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Is this enough proof? on: June 05, 2015, 11:05:22 AM
This is not me defending Gismo28 or BuddyIsrael, but giving a neutral view on the subject on the basis that an accusation should not be made without undeniable proof; and mere suspicion is not proof. That is not to say that the coincidences between the two are very suspicious.

If they both speak German, theres a good possibility that it might be a coincidence that they both live in Germany, hence leading to the similar posting hours. However, that does not explain the coincidence in he similarity of the sections they posted in, the only possibility is that they like to trade with bitcoin on the forum as many other do.

noting the possibility that both individuals live in germany: same time zones
||

The real suspicious part is the "trade"  that happened between these two that seems to have happened so smoothly even without escrow: the reference in the trust feedback leads to this thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1064017.0

Now, I don't know German, but i trust Google to do at the very least an "okay" job at translation (Chrome users there is an auto translate option); here is the "vouch post" from Gismo28 on the thread:

It's quite broken but the general message can be read. In addition, the only trust feedback Gismo28 has left is to provide positive feedback for his probably alt stating BuddyIsrael is "someone you can trust."

Going back to that vouch post from Gismo28, I can see 1 other suspicious detailt; noting the time it was posted; May 25, my time is central time US, the time in Germany would be +7 hours, but the local time on both profiles is only 5 hours ahead (I think this is London time).
With the knowledge that the profiles show a 5 hour difference:
my time at making this screenshot:- BI time:
Google:

The possibility of 2 separate individuals who both speak both German and English well that browse this forum, mainly in the same sections nonetheless along with a very similar posting schedule, and seem to be able to work out a deal without escrow when the probable alt already has negative trust is incredibly low.

The "deal" was made at some time prior to May 25th, 9:05 PM their time as Gismo28 states in the post, and seeing that there was no post from Gismo28 in the thread prior to his vouch, the only possibility of a legitimate deal happening is if it was done entirely through PM. If Gismo28 and BuddyIsrael both cannot provide PM's and txid's for this exchange timed prior to that time to prove they made the deal, I would consider this to be proof enough the two accounts are related as there was no proof of an exchange done. In the case the trade was faked to this extent and ther are PM's however, that does not mean the two accounts are unrelated; there is still enough coincidence to warrant suspicion; the absence of evidence is not the evidence of absence.

tl;dr: post those pm's or youre practically convicted.
3074  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is my wallet going to be compromised ? on: June 05, 2015, 10:25:00 AM
youre giving very little info in your post here; was it a login auth notification for luckybit or for blockchain.info? you can pick up your phone and tell us the name of the browser, you dont want to leave it at "i dont remember for now." Too little info.
3075  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Generate power from thermoelectric generator on a miner on: June 05, 2015, 02:19:56 AM
Thermoelectric generators (TEG) have low conversion efficiency, below 5% at temperature differentials of 80 deg C.

some quick reading on wikipedia and youll find this true; typical TEG's have 5-8% efficiency, pretty bad. factor in the "efficiency" of the energy to heat produced by the miner, and you get an even lower value. hard to justify the investment for a TEG setup with these values.
3076  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which comes first: Halving or max transactions exceeded? on: June 05, 2015, 02:11:16 AM
ill agree and say halving will definitely come first, the proposed 20 MB block size change is for the long term scalability, and we are still far from reaching the 1 MB size cap on every block mined currently.
3077  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: is there any place where people can share what they bought with bitcoin? on: June 05, 2015, 01:20:14 AM

3078  Other / Archival / Re: Updated Overview of Bitcointalk Signature-Ad Campaigns on: June 04, 2015, 11:26:29 PM
hi guys
is there a seperate thread for avatar campaigns?
im still looking for a avatar campaign

No, it doesn't exist. Maybe someone should create it but at the moment there are only few avatar campaigns.

maybe ill do this, i have some free time on my hands, might as well use it constructively i suppose, not many avatar campaigns going on right now though, there might be more soon now that avatars are enabled again though
3079  Economy / Digital goods / Re: [WTS] Sell bitcoin-doubler (Script Oficial Ponzi Full NEW Style BOOTSTRAP) 1BTC. on: June 04, 2015, 11:21:27 PM
so youre offering to sell a ponzi script, which would enable more scammers on this already scam-infested forum.
3080  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: bitcoin-power.com is a complete scam...you have been warned! on: June 04, 2015, 08:46:19 PM
some guy is still spamming bitcoin-power in every section he can find: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=390268;sa=showPosts
maybe the account got hacked because he just now started spamming it but who cares
