3081  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: S7 Batch 8/9 or Avalon 6 on: January 01, 2016, 01:00:12 AM
I also fear the S7 batch 8,
if avalon lowers prices leave bitmain, the rpodotti are sketchy, blades than you burn, defective controller etc ...
in my opinion, the only miner rock was S3 +
this is that it was a rock
S5 disappointed me a lot, the blades were burned continuously,

We hope in the competition with 16 nm chips.
and a guarantee at least 6 months, 90 days is too short

I would take a one hundred twenty day warranty in a heartbeat.

I don't think we will see extension of mining warranty at this point.  From a buisness standpoint when they can sell it at 3 months and people buy..... chances are they won't move to 6 months.

S3's were like tanks but you could still brick them on firmware.  I only had 1 do it  on me, but it is possible even for a tank of a machine to go down.

And the S7's are no tanks. I bought a S7 B8, because i got a coupon, but we'll see, there has been a lot of report and negative comments about the B8. We'll see how that goes.

So far from what I have seen they work great as far as hashing.  Pretty much everyone is getting 4.7, so quality is there as far as hashing speed.

The downside... less chips.  They cranked the freq really high.  So efficiency on some other batches was better.   But we got a price quite a bit less then other batches aswell... so pro's and con's on both.
3082  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Efficiency of dedicated miner vs PC on: December 31, 2015, 10:51:26 PM
I'm mining Ethernum and i use two AMD R9 270, in one month I get 57 US dollars

How much did you spend on electricity though?   Running two GPU's 24x7 seems like it would have a little bit of a bill to it.

I would love to be wrong.  I just have not seen a GPU rig that can ROI in quite a while.   Asics is what everything has pretty much moved to.
3083  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Best bitcoin wallet? on: December 31, 2015, 10:49:03 PM
I still have more to add to them but they are pretty decent right now on some hands on that I have been testing some hardware wallets.   If your interested in hardware wallets or curious about them you might check one of these threads out:

Trezor: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1298917.0
KeepKey: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1283805
Ledger Nano: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1305888

If you have any questions feel free to ask.   I make 0 off of sales so I have no motive to push for sales, which I think is important in this area.  I think they shine where you need accesss to money as it does it without key being on computer, so much safer there.

Paper wallets still do have a function.  If your going to set on something for the next few years and not access it a properly done paper wallet has nothing wrong with it.  All depends on what your usage is on what is best.
3084  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How earn Bitcoins fast and free?? on: December 31, 2015, 10:44:54 PM
Only way to earn free Bitcoin safely will be faucets mate, I would recommend freebitco.in persoanlly:)

But that is a slow process. It might not be worth time for most users of this forum. Maybe the bitcoin will be more valuable in the future.

yes I think in 2016 bitcoin will be more worth. there are many free and fast way to get a bitcoin. indeed faucet free and it makes you wasted time, better looking better in 2016 Smiley
People need to remember that when Bitcoin prices go up, the faucets have the tendency to have the faucet claim amount to go down.  I am not sure if this apples to all faucets, so if you are going to depend on them to make free Bitcoin, you may want to start now.

But were talking about cent's per hour currently.   We would need the price up to go very dramatic for faucet to be worth it.  Right now they would be considered dust to most.  So keep that in mind if others are reading this thinking it's a sure bet in a few years to have lots of free money as it is not.

Buying 10 dollars or so of BTC now would beat weeks of faucet payment most likely.  So I would just buy it if your sure it's jumping to the level you claim.  I think were have a few barriers before it does such as big jump.
3085  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Best way to earn Bitcoins? on: December 31, 2015, 10:41:58 PM
Just check out my method here:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1300730.0

It will earn you big bucks Cheesy
I just clicked the link and it states that is is off limits to me.  What is the deal and what are you trying to offer. I am always looking to make more funds for free!!

I'm guessing it went to trash can.  I think he posted in multiple threads about it.  And then (if person I saw a day ago or so) someone who bought was so mad they leaked it onto thread.

So I'm guessing either he was in trouble for posting it so much.  Or somehow got it deleted with book leaked on it.   And if it was one I was thinking of that I saw someone post book it was pretty crappy and promised like 9000 percent or something crazy on return.  (I could be thinking of wrong person sadly to many sell these type of schemes).
3086  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How many bitcoins do you have to sell to make a living? on: December 31, 2015, 10:36:55 PM
It all depends on what you consider a living and what Bitcoin is at when it comes to price.  Right now, I need to make 12 BTC per month to make a living and this does not take into consideration any emergency issues that may come up.  My mother could live off of 4 BTC per month.  So it all depends on what goals you have set for yourself.

It is a good point on what you consider living.  Some are talking about living well and some just enough to get though the month.   I think amount should be to live decent, I'm not talking about being super well off.  But something where they have a little for some extras in life.

I find country interesting on how much some of it can effect it.  If you could live on sub .5 BTC per month I wonder quality of life on some of the countries.  I would love to hear more in this area out of interest.

3088  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Dec 31 to Jan 12 Diff thread picks closed. on: December 31, 2015, 10:23:15 PM
Value of BTC is around 430 at start of this thread.  Hopefully we see a push in price upwards.

This new trend to be 10+ percent difficulty really needs price to follow or eventually it's going to be hard to make profit's.
3089  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: s7 new farm on: December 31, 2015, 10:21:18 PM
the cost is almost free  for us  (like 12 to 20 $ month for the frarm )

there are some blackouts but rite now is getting more stable

we have already 6 month in the bussisnes and we are investing more in the mining factor
increasing the TH POWER   our goal is to reinvest for long

Very interesting I love to hear a sucess story there.   I like all mining to be a sucess story though Smiley.

Sounds like your headed in right direction.  With almost free electricity do any electric company workers or officials ask why usage is so much higher?
3090  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: S7 Batch 8/9 or Avalon 6 on: December 31, 2015, 03:48:16 PM
I see it as two different area's of miners.  S7 Batch 8/9 really I see as 240 put somewhere where sound is not an issue.  You can do 120... but 220/240 you save a lot on PSU going to server one (but it is not quiet).

Home miner the S6 is much easier with 120 and 4 PCIE cables, so lot of PSU choices out there.  And it is much more quiet.  So if you were mining at home this is one I would go for personally.  Other if sound/240 is not an issue.

So kinda depends on your situation on what I think is best.
3091  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: If you get free electricity and can afford a miner... on: December 31, 2015, 03:40:31 AM
Will be upgrading to higher miner after. I meant to say I was paying 250 for miner and power supply in one.  I don't gamble, also, I should also say.

Saving a lot of what I make to buy an Antminer S4 or S7 when it comes down in price, or a no-scam deal is found.

These are kinda big if you are limited in room on your house.  They will use pretty much your whole standard 120 breaker I'm guessing.  You won't have a ton of electricity on that line to power other things.

But when mentioning miners like those be careful of noise and power.  It's a lot more on both then a S3.  And really S4 and S7 are completely different markets.
3092  Other / Off-topic / Re: Vanilla Visa Prepaid Debit Cards on: December 31, 2015, 03:34:57 AM
You have to give us more information on what you are looking to spend it on.  I use them all of the time to pay for things and I have never had an issue with them, so where are you trying to spend them and what are you trying to buy?  This will allow us to help you.

I would agree we need a lot more info, if you mean going out to your local store and using it yes likely will work.  But if your talking about buying BTC I don't see any accepting it (could be wrong).

But need to know what you want to use it on.
3093  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to collect BTC ?? on: December 31, 2015, 03:21:48 AM
I would suggest buying from Circle its very easy, just download the App if you have a smartphone and attach your debit or CC. Instant BTC.

Long term I suggest getting a checking account and use it for BTC.  I have one just for BTC I can transfer money to it or from.  For buying or selling of BTC.  And with just using it for BTC purchasing.

Long term you will really like the checking account at bank.  Also you can transfer to your regular account not linked to buy BTC and it should be pretty safe there.
3094  Other / Meta / Re: Are carding discount offers allowed on this forum? on: December 31, 2015, 03:14:49 AM
Some like Itunes account's they can shut you down if your using carded Itunes Cards.  So I would suggest not using one if you suspect it's carded.  Not only is it hurting someone, but likely will hurt you eventually to.

If your buying something you suspect to be carded Itunes is one of biggest I think.  Ask for picture with receipt showing cash purchase... it's not perfect to stop it from happening but it will help.
3095  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER U3 Discussion and Support Thread on: December 31, 2015, 03:07:33 AM
My last U3 just died.  I can see it with zadig and reinstall the driver, but it does not get recognized by cgminer, nor is the R1 able to fire it up as a controller.  The red USB led lights up, but that's it.  It will no longer hash no matter what I do.  RIP U3.

Yours may just be dead/defect also, zOU.

And as usual it's never the users fault and bitmain sent you a crappy u3 right?
I don't want to say it's your fault but chances are you overclocked it behond safe parameters even though you might not admit it.

I have 3 out of 3 working fine with my R1.  I am not trying to push them though.  I get around 50GH or so out of each and around 150GH or a tad less out of all together.   So far has seemed to work pretty good.

I don't really OC anymore on any of my miners.  During S3 day's I didn't have a second thought about doing it.  But i just don't risk it anymore besides my compacs I do push them sometimes.

I quoted mikestang..  How come you're answering? lol

I answered with my luck on 3 without pushing OC hard or anything like that.  I quoted you as I thought it was worth keeping in it as good points.

With U3 I would not push it to hard myself just as I had so many zombies I don't like to add to issues.  But since getting my R1 with crazyguy's custom firmware I have not touched my U3's in over a month  maybe close to 2.
3096  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Review] Avalon 6 Miner - Winter Mining - Notlist3d - Also FAQ and Help on: December 31, 2015, 03:03:34 AM
s7 right about now Price: 2.85 BTC       ( 1210.71 USD )
...

not cool from them!

fair price would be ~2.5btc...

and i'm interested, but at the right price

got ~10kw and i will keep on upgrading with s7 because of price and a bit better efficiency

And again you might contact them.  I'm not sure if that price is set in stone, or not at this point.  If bulk definitely email and ask.

I am kinda set for the moment on gear so I have not emailed and asked price as I don't care to waste their time.  But if you truly interested in buying gear currently send them a email it does not hurt to ask.
3097  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S7 is available at bitmaintech.com with 4.86TH/s, 0.25J/GH on: December 31, 2015, 03:00:49 AM
Yeah... Thread title needs to be updated. S7 is no longer 4.86TH/s or 0.25J/GH.

Should read:

ANTMINER S7 is available at bitmaintech.com with 4.73TH/s, 0.30J/GH

Since bitcointalk is not accessible from mainland China due to the GFW, could a mod update the title? I'm sure bitmain would in the pursuit of honesty, but they simply can't due to circumstances.   Smiley

The last two I bought arrived with 1 dead board each.  Maybe the title should read 3.1TH/s, 0.3J/GH?   Cheesy

Heh, sounds about right. My B8 had a board die within a week, so also running at ~3.1TH/s right now.

That's pretty bad. Whats the delay and protocol here? You send back the black to Bitmain at your costs, then receive a blade within what delay? And then do you get compensated?

Normally there is not compensation.  You talk to them they say if ok to disassemble.  You cant even really open it without permission anymore, so have to talk to support.

I would guess he sends back to bitmain, then send working after.  And most likely no compensation but I could be wrong. My batch 8 is still working strong even in the cold.  So far so good on mine as far as running.

Some crappy photos:

I like the cooling setup a lot.

I agree it's been a bit since I said wow on a compac setup.  I really like the setup thanks for sharing.  The usb power adapters on each one is unique and a cool thing to do.

Thanks for sharing!
3099  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain give false? on: December 31, 2015, 02:56:24 AM
they just don't care!!! simple as that!

before they were a bit more flexible with the VAT, now they prefer to just make fun of clients!

What do you mean flexible on VAT?  Are you talking like lower price listed or different category?

Or I could be reading wrong into it.   Just was not sure what you meant on it.
3100  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: s7 new farm on: December 31, 2015, 02:53:31 AM
our mine is located in Venezuela ,

Are you able to show some pictures of your miners in mine? Would love to see a working one in Venezuela.

I'm not sure why but the plain mining board has a new scheme for someone to start a farm there about every month, every other at most.  They have all went away  so far except 1 might turn into something..... but it's been a long time since pictures and the last they said they still did not have gear.  It seem's a lot of them take a picture of inside of warehouse and think it's data center.

But please do share pictures I'm sure others would love to see them to.
if you want i can send a email with some images of our firt set up just live your email address

Can you post like phototbucket or other that  works? Then others can see aswell.   If you post link to picture someone with higher rank will quote so everyone can see the pictures Smiley.

Do you know many other miners out there?  I was just surprised how often mining operations try to start up there in regular mining forum.
yes i can post a photo no problen just i cant find the way to do it here just let me know the way and i will post

Just upload your image to imgur, then copy your link that shows the image directly, enter that link between [-img-]        [-/img-] (Remove the dashes, cut the space and add your link there and you are done...) Smiley
this is our 1th farm and the 1st setup http://imgur.com/VQbvFVK   http://imgur.com/edit?album_id=0tC62   now we are waiting fro some other s7s  to  set up this one and the other like that

Thanks for posting interesting to see a actual operation in Venezula.  How long have you been operating?

Also are you getting electricity there super low? Some have reported some very low electricity cost's there?  How do you find electric stability does it lose power or power problems?

Thanks though for answering and showing a neat operation.
