I think they are getting some tractions since they are foreseeing another big economic collapse for 2017. https://www.lombardiletter.com/economic-crash-2017-and-how-the-next-financial-crisis-could-be-worse-than-2008/6973/
No need to say that if that happens BTC will reach Mars if not disappearing in the universe.

I do agree that $2000 can be easily reached at present but to go higher that that we need an "normal" economic collapse. We saw it in the past, we know it happens and so hold tight.

Nice article. Quick wrap up of everything you'll learn about this project from reading old posts & threads here on bitcointalk.

Good this project needs some marketing fuel as well as good development. Now we wait for your Press Release David. That should create a bit of noise around and I'm not simply referring to their name, BitcoinBuzz  Grin

Come on good old bitcoin I give you one week to bring your 4 stars and stripes digits to the Eurozone. It doesn't take much effort: in the end it is another €28. Then please go to the UK as well, they also desperately need you.

Yes guys the ETF is a good step forward: let them buy paper bitcoin notes while we keep the real ones and benefit from the price increase. Rich guys want to be reassured and so be it: give them an ETF and we'll get to BRK.A price (credits to gembitz)

Coinbase Could Pay $1 Million in Legal Costs Fighting the ‘Broad Subpoena’: I think this is truly unfair for them. A company should not be held responsible for its users' responsibilities. I mean this story is way worse than the Iphone/FBI unlocking one.
I'm not a big fan of exchanges but I'm for Coinbase on this one.

By their own definition Coinbase is a money transmitter.

I can't see how the CEO wouldn't understand that this was always a risk. The IRS has been known to audit corporations - and while I agree that targeting every user is broad, they're still treading on the line of being able to enforce existing law against what they perceive as potential abuse.

I'd prefer they had taken a more direct approach, but given its a government organization with very little staff given its size, I am not surprised they are asking for everything.

Just glad I never touched that service with a 100-meter pole... but I will be watching to see how they enforce individual fines/financial assessments.
I do see your point and I share the same feelings but as aso118 said this could be a very damaging legal precedent. I've never used coinbase myself but still we are talking about one of the biggest Bitcoin companies around. The whole ecosystem is likely to be affected by this story. Embarrassed

Looking back I should have kept some BTC into safedice and crypto-games. Thing is that as soon as Betking closed I also took back funds from every casino. I did that mostly because of byteball distribution and I think that after the second distribution round I'll invest again.
Keep it rolling  Wink

What is this byteball? Can you send me a link?

Sure!

You are still on time to get onboard and take part in further distribution rounds! If you have any questions go to the Bitcointalk thread mentioned above and you will likely find anything you need to know.
It seems strange you haven't heard about it.

Unlike Bitcoin, LTC has no problems with confirmation times and high transaction fees.

The two coins can't really be compared: different uses, different volumes etc.
LTC has never seen much stress like BTC did. Yes, I do agree that LTC is a good testing ground but I will not go further.  Wink

$1000 is holding, that is a very bullish signal.

Give me $1000 and the 4 digits a little longer and I will probably agree. When $1000 can clearly be called the new bottom the show will begin. So looking forward to that.
For the time being that's all I care about  Wink

At the current exchange rate tonych on 11FEB will give for free around $1 million to all interested. Can you imagine?

If anybody would do such thing in fiat money it would be in all news around the world.

You are right! When this project will hit the top ten on Coin Market Cap you'll start seeing fire everywhere!
Do you know what's funny? Banks are able to create money like this: money from money!
Crypto is showing that we can do the same and create value and wealth for out own.

And all that without any debt (slavery)!
I wonder if it would be possible to create POS crypto (like byteball) and internal distribution model without the need of outside intervention (like tonych's nowadays distributing coins). I mean coins would be created at a defined small inflation rate and distributed between active nodes. Wouldn't that be a perfect crypto?
POS already gives you that. With Byteball it was totally different: we simply had to show BTC proof of holdings either via a micropayment or signing a message and that gave us GBB and BBB! We have been given the chance to expande our crypto holdings for free. And BTC acted as a proof.
I mean to me that's simply awesome

I think it's pretty obvious already who  the next Premier League champion will be. The other top teams are just not champions material at all  Grin

I have to agree with you. United was recovering, but now is adding draw again. Liverpool is to unstable at the moment and the other top teams are not doing much better. Let's see what Tottenham can do, but they sure are far behind.

I remember someone on this thread told us that Antonio Conte was not fit for Premier League. What a naive thinking. Last year Ranieri and this year Antonio Conte: those classy Italians are so fit for Premier League!

Those that can't innovate -- copy.

Outside of "washing" coins, litecoin doesn't have a compelling use-case, and its price reflects that.
I'm totally with you on this but can we deny that, for the time being, it would be better for everyday spending to have the chance of using Litecoin with faster confirmations? I'm starting to see it this way: LTC for everyday use, BTC long term wealth management.

3096  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-02-04]LTC banking on SegWit activation to realize vision as Bitcoin’s on: February 04, 2017, 10:17:21 AM
F2Pool currently controls around 43% of the Litecoin network hashrate and they stated that they are planning to upgrade to SegWit. Since Segregated Witness for LTC requires only 75% of the network hashrate to be activated it seems very likely this is going to happen.
And then we have to wait and see what it will be of LTC  Smiley
3097  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: February 04, 2017, 10:10:23 AM
The only team that has been able to win at Stamford Bridge is Liverpool, after that game Chelsea has won all the 8 games played home scoring at least two goals in seven games. Because of this, even though we are talking about a very difficult match, I would say that Chelsea will win against Arsenal 2-1.
3098  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 04, 2017, 09:51:57 AM

i am not a techie. no IT guy at all. i came across bitcoin by means of a historic perspective. what strikes me most is the blatant ignorance of most of the IT guys that i talk about bitcoin. they always laugh. i mean those guys are professionals, the make their income because they figured out that digitization is a mega trend, but they refuse to see the elegance of bitcoin. how can this be?

They do see it. That laugh is a nervous one, that covers up a little bit of anger, and feelings of 'missing out'.

I do confirm what you are saying. Most of them know they missed a huge opportunity but here's a silver lining from a friend of mine. He works as main IT architect for a SME. He has put a small asic farm (7 antminers S7) in the server room where nobody notice it. Free electricity and free air conditioning...
He does not earn much but I was happy to made him aware of the BTC potential.

I'm desperately waiting to see and understand if $1000 will hold. I hope the price will reach parity with gold soon and after that the unknown is our land.
Hold tight

Can anyone recommend a bitcoin wallet to send the micro transaction from. two of the wallets i use wont allow micro transactions and having a problem with blockchain.info

use signing function in the core btc wallet instead micro transactions:

1. file → sign message
2. enter a btc address in the first field
3. enter the message u want to sign in the second field
4. press «sign message» → copy out the signature

The same game if you use Mycelium for Android
1. Go to Accounts → Select the Account in which there is your BTC address
2. Click on the menu → Sign Message
3. enter your PIN code → Select Key for Signing
4. enter the message you want to sign
5. press Sign Message → copy out the signature

Simple and clean Wink

Snip

Next Tuesday is your payday, don't forget that we will pay directly to your duckdice account, so please make sure that you have a recovery email and password set Smiley

Did you mean Thursday? If not this first campaign week will be shorter than a normal week since we started yesterday.
Can you please clarify? Thank you
