3081  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ English Premier League Season: 2021/2022 on: January 14, 2022, 07:41:35 PM
Why would they rely on him to help them avoid relegation this season?
Newcastle is one of the richest clubs in the world, if not the richest, but for now they can only attract average players, of course, no quality player would want to risk playing in the championship, and it's a possibility that Newcastle is going to get relegated, so what they have to do is try their best to get some players that are a little bit decent and try and avoid relegation, I mean, it's better than doing nothing, at least with such players, even if they eventually get relegated, they won't immediately push for an exit out of the club, they would stay and try and bring them back to EPL as soon as possible.
Does anybody itt think Eddie Howe can motivate and get Newcastle to survive the relegation battle and stay up?
He is a decent coach, definitely not the best looking at the circumstances, but I think I appreciated his pattern of football when he was head coach at Bournemouth, they didn't win too many games, but he was indeed brave considering the quality they had then, with Newcastle, all he can do now is try, he isn't under too much pressure, cause the club already knew the situation before signing him, I'm afraid, all he can do it try.
3082  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Africa Cup of Nation Discussion Thread || Current discussion: Group Stage. on: January 13, 2022, 05:15:32 PM
What's going on with this tournament? Of the first 12 matches, 9 ended with a score of 1-0 and two more with a score of 0-0.
I don't bet in the group stage and I'm very happy about it - probably now I would be disappointed, because I didn't expect such a low performance and weak play of the favorites  Undecided
That is not really unusual when it comes to the African cup of Nations, I don't know if it's due to the poor quality of the players in the respective teams, but the Afcon always produces low-scoring games, and I think that's what we'll see till the end of the tournament. If you have the intention of placing Afcon related bets, you'll have to bet on very little goals being scored, that has always been the case, and until their quality of football improves, it'll remain that way.
3083  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency market is growing good,..???? on: January 13, 2022, 02:54:32 PM
Recently I saw a tweet from one of the leading Bollywood actor promoting a particular project. Is this destroying the goodness of the market or it is a necessary one.
I don't really care about who's promotion what, new projects will definitely continue to come out, some of them could be legitimate, some scams, others shitcoins/pump and dump etc, but the thing is that they must find a way to promote their project, some use celebrities and other popular individuals, but crypto users should know better by now, they ought to know the risk involved when investing in a new project, and that should be enough to dissuade them and for them to choose established projects, crypto users should always do their own research, cause there is of course quite a lot of scams in the network.
3084  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Pakistani Central banks wants to ban crypto on: January 13, 2022, 02:36:29 PM
Decentralized currencies are not yet banned in Pakistan but this is a threat to bitcoin and other crypto users in the country.
Yes, I made it known in the OP, it's still a proposal for now, nothing concrete, and no decision has been made as for now
What makes SBP think crypto is illegal when they deemed Pakistani rupee legal? Because they do not have criminals that are having means to scam people of Pakistani rupee?
It's basically just about control, the government of course control their fiat currencies, thus there is no way to they will want to see anything wrong with it, but as for decentralized digital currencies like Bitcoin that offers users control, the government will come up with crazy lies just to discredit it, they just want control, and that's just it.
3085  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Pakistani Central banks wants to ban crypto on: January 13, 2022, 12:17:29 PM
The Pakistani government is the latest country to propose a ban on crypto, I know it's a possible ban that will affect crypto in general, but to be honest I'm pretty sure Bitcoin is definitely their main target in all of this as it's the crypto that most governments see as a "threat" to their complete dominance over their citizens financial activities, see this excerpt below:
Quote
The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) is reportedly seeking to ban all cryptocurrency transactions in Pakistan.
I know there's prolly no way Bitcoin can become the most used currency in the world in place of Fiat, and I know quite a lot of people are of the view that the government do not actually feel threatened by Bitcoin, but personally I think they are, they are mostly worried by the "be your bank" option Bitcoin offers its users, and it's something quite a lot of people are starting to understand its importance, and I also believe CBDC's were launched in reaction to the growth of Bitcoin, to convince people that it's a digital currency like Bitcoin, which it's not. They also plan to impose sanctions on crypto exchanges, see this excerpt below:
Quote
The Pakistani central bank reportedly urged the court not only to ban cryptocurrency activity but also to impose penalties against crypto exchanges.
I believe all of this is just a calculated attempt to forestall Bitcoins growth and development, but just as has been the case in previous scenarios of Bitcoin ban, it would prolly only have an ephemeral effect on the price of Bitcoin, but in the long run would be inconsequential. What do you think would come out of this?

3086  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Happy 13th Birthday, Bitcoin. You are a teenager now! on: January 13, 2022, 11:53:10 AM
Bitcoin has become a very popular commodity today because it is very profitable
Yes of course, one can make good returns when they invest in Bitcoin, so it's really profitable, but quite a lot of people have mistaken this profitability for a "get rich quick" network which the Bitcoin network actually isn't, and as such many people have become anti Bitcoin, cause they didn't have the patience to hold their coins as all they wanted was fast money. What I'm saying here is that, in as much as Bitcoin is somewhat profitable, it could be counterproductive for people who rest solely on that mindset and want to make money out of the network as soon as possible, there is still patience that one is expected to have, as well as believe in the network, so when there is a correction/plunge, you'll not run into panic selling.
3087  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Northwest Arkansas is offering $10k worth of ₿ and a bike to attract talent on: January 13, 2022, 11:39:54 AM
It's worth noting that apart from BTCitcoin, they're also offering $10k in cash
You're correct, but the fact that they are offering either Bitcoin and Fiat just goes to show that Bitcoin is actually being seen as a good alternative to fiat, which it actually is, and thus I think it's actually somewhat of a good news, not a really big one by the way, but something to take note of as Bitcoiners look forward to mass adoption. Having said that, it'll honestly be interesting to see if people would take this offer and relocate over there, the money doesn't look too big to be a convincing factor, but maybe that and a couple of other reasons could convince people to try it out.
3088  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: January 12, 2022, 08:22:47 PM
Norwich is very weak right now and it looks like the game should be easy for West Ham. But Norwich still has good chances to get out of the relegation zone and this is a very strong motivation. For West Ham to get into the Champions League zone is a very difficult task, I even think it is impossible, because Tottenham is now very good and they will oust Arsenal and West Ham, since Tottenham have two less games played.
I really doubt Norwich's chances of not getting relegated at the end of this season, they are currently the worst team in the premier league at the moment and I am not giving them too much chances to escape relegation yet again except they have an outstanding second half of the season, though it's unlikely. West Ham I'm sure do not have any plans of making it into any of the champions league spots, their aim should just be to finish as high as possible in the league and going by their current form, I don't expect them to finish in any position lower than 7th, West Ham are really pretty good, and going by the quality they have in their squad, which is far from excellent, the players and manager deserve all the credit in the world.
3089  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: January 12, 2022, 07:47:37 PM
Aston Villa have been very active when it comes to making transfers in this month. They have signed two important signings so far and Lucas Digne has become one of them. I heard something before like Chelsea were also interested in signing Digne. But it looks like Aston Villa were faster than them about making an offer. And after signing Philippe Coutinho first, they have finished the Digne deal too. They have already strengthened their lineup quite much.
After signing Steven Gerrard as manager I think Aston Villa have been doing pretty well on the pitch, they have picked up very important points, and even in games that they were beaten, they played really well and gave their opponents a very good run for their money, now they have signed Coutinho and Digne, that can only mean things will get better for the club, I believe they are doing good business and it's going to pay off by the end of the season, though they actually need a bit of consistency and they'll climb up to the top half of the table, but I'm really optimistic with what I'm seeing.
3090  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Africa Cup of Nation Discussion Thread || Current discussion: Group Stage. on: January 12, 2022, 07:33:18 PM
It surprised me that Nigeria won against Egypt. I am not underestimating the Nigerian team. But I thought the Egyptian team was more stable. Because they have one of the best strikers, Salah. He is an aeome player. Having such a good player, Egypt has also been defeated. They made only 4 shots in this match.
Of course, Salah is a very brilliant player when he plays for Liverpool, he stands out as one of the best players in the world in that respect, but the same cannot be said of him when he plays for Egypt, and one can easily understand why, the quality in the Liverpool side is by far better than that of the Egyptian national side, and thus there's always bound to be disparity in his respective performances for the two sides.

Having said that, I believe the Nigerian national team has a better collective squad than the Egyptian team, they have more players in top teams in Europe than players of the Egyptian team, thus I wasn't surprised they got the victory, they were the better team overall in yesterday's encounter and are now in pole position to qualify from that group.

Cristiano Ronaldo's agent Jorge Mendes has flown to England for a crisis meeting with the Manchester United forward as the 36-year-old considers his future at the club. Is that a sign that Ronaldo wants to leave Manchester United? If so, where could he go now, which club?
I knew Ronaldo wasn't going to find things easy in Manchester United, I mean, even prior to his move back to Old Trafford, United was a club struggling with quite a lot of issues, they were also uncertain whether to retain their manager then (ole), or do away with him, they have finally fired Ole, but honestly, I knew Solskjaer wasn't the sole problem, they have enough quality players to challenge for trophies, but it's more like they are just a mediocre club at the moment. Ronaldo as well wasn't going to change all that, I really do not know what he was thinking when he made that move, it's crazy if he is trying to push himself out of the team, he signed a contract with them, and he should stay with the club both in good and bad times.

Next week Tottenham will meet Arsenal. And the result of this match will change the standings if Tottenham are able to beat Arsenal. They will shift the position of Arsenal. Tottenham also have 2 games ahead, of which they have 18 games they have just played, while Arsenal have 20.
This derby has always promised to be an entertaining encounter with both teams giving it their all to maintain bragging rights for their respective fans, this particular derby promises to even be more interesting as both Arsenal and Spurs have somewhat thread on the same path this season, what I mean is both Arsenal and Spurs started poorly, but in the past couple of weeks they have been in really good form which has seen them climb up the table and looking to cement their position there. Arsenal played a very good game against Manchester City the last time out, thus if they play with that same spirit, I think they'll put Spurs away pretty easily, I'll be rooting for Arsenal in this one by the way as I expect them to win.
3093  Economy / Economics / Re: Euro zone inflation hit a new record high of 5% in December on: January 09, 2022, 09:26:31 AM
I expect inflation levels to continue to rise all around the world, most of this stems from the negative effects of the pandemic, as a result of lockdowns and printing quite a lot of money it was always expected that the level of inflation was going to gradually go up and that's what we're experiencing currently. It's not just in the Euro zone, even in my country, inflation level is skyrocketing and cost of living is rising daily, cost of commodities and amenities continues to go up and for now we can't see any respite in sight. In my opinion, with more strains of the virus rearing its head, there could still be more lockdowns and money printing coming ahead, thus I don't think we've seen all of this inflation, I expect it to be with us for quite a long time, and like I've always said, the developing countries are definitely going to be hit harder than the developed ones.
3094  Economy / Speculation / Re: What do you think about Bitcoin? on: January 09, 2022, 08:58:34 AM
Because at present the approval of bitcoin is increasing in different countries.
I don't think this is correct, many countries are still very hostile to Bitcoin cause it is decentralized, I mean, countries like to control every aspects of their citizens life, especially their finances, and since Bitcoin allows its users to be their own bank, they (the government) do not want to have anything to do with Bitcoin, that's why quite a lot of countries have and will continue to impose bans and sanctions against Bitcoin.
I wonder when the price of Bitcoin will reach $ 100k +.
The thing is, no one actually knows when that will happen, you just have to believe in the network when you invest in it, you have to be patient and hold, and you must understand that there is no get rich quick method in the network as it's a long term coin.
3095  Economy / Economics / Re: New Year - The crypto economics on: January 09, 2022, 07:26:53 AM
2021 was a great year for me but one of the mistakes  I made last year was not having a financial goal for my self, all I had was like a waste because their was no target for the year. I have Learnt my mistakes which won't repeat again this year. This I have already draft my an for  the year and investing is one of the goals have set this year. I believe it is gonna all come out for good because I have set good goals this year.
Actually, not everyone believes in drafting out a plan/goal for the year, they just do things the right way and watch it work out or not for them, at least we all know what's right or wrong in our heads, we all know when we should save and not be extravagant, etc, but if you believe in setting/drafting out goals, then it's also fine, it also has its advantages as I feel it can make one more serious about actualizing the set goals, I wish you all the best mate.
Most of the time people lose their money in the markets because they are simply expecting too much out of them, they want to generate profits so quickly that in their attempts to make some quick money they get the opposite results.
We always have the "get rich quick" investors in the network, this are individuals that do not have any patience and they just want to get rich after a few weeks of investing, this of course will cause them to make mistakes such as choosing the wrong investment, or falling into the hands of people that will scam them, there is no quick money and until people realize that they will continue to lose money.
3096  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin is unsettling, for those who don't have it on: January 08, 2022, 09:15:18 PM
This is the reason why it has been growing so much all these years. More number of people are becoming aware of it and realizing it's potential.
I second that, I also think the benefit of being your own bank has been underrated by quite a lot of people in the past, but due to inflation and dictatorial policies by many governments, quite a lot of individuals and organizations as well are now harnessing the benefits of being your own bank in the Bitcoin network, and also using the network as a hedge to fiat Inflation and other whatnots, I expect the number of Bitcoin users to steadily continue to grow as people begin to discover its benefits till we get to mass adoption.
3097  Economy / Economics / Re: Sharing and helping others on: January 08, 2022, 08:32:03 PM
This Christmas if you can't give a gift like money, bitcoin and other material things, let's just share our knowledge of crypto with others as a gift.
It is actually not really that easy to share information about Bitcoin to people, the media has already corrupted people's minds about Bitcoin, thus for some people when you approach them with information about Bitcoin, they immediately start to think you're attempting to introduce them into a network where they'll lose their money. Having said that, I always encounter issues with some people close to me whenever I successfully introduce them to Bitcoin, the problem stems from the volatility of the price of Bitcoin, thus when they invest and the price of Bitcoin plunges, they usually sell out of panic, thereby incurring loss and blame me for everything in the end, thus for people who still share info about Bitcoin, do not persuade or pressure such people, just tell them about the network and allow them to go do their own research.
3098  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread -- Group Stage! on: January 08, 2022, 07:53:18 PM
Liverpool have a tough draw against Inter actually. Maybe Inter aren't one of the favourite teams of the title but they are still a dangerous team. Their performance in this season also is very good as we can understand from their place in the Serie A too. They aren't doing bad in the Champions League also which should be enough to be a warning to Liverpool. But I still expect Liverpool to eliminate them.
Many people and pundits seem to have already written off inter Milan in this particular draw, but I still think it's going to be a really tough game for Liverpool, Inter Milan are a very strong side that can pose quite a lot of problems and if Liverpool are not careful they could be eliminated by them, I'm pretty sure Klopp must have talked to his players to be weary of the threat Inter can pose, so they do not become complacent and find themselves in a really difficult situation.
I won't say that Man City will have an easier time, but they should have no difficulty in winning both games against Sporting.
I have to completely agree with you, City are firing on all cylinders, and Sporting isn't even the sort of team to actually give City too many problems, after getting to the final last season, City are my favorites for the title as I expect then to go a step further and finally win the CL.
3099  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: January 08, 2022, 07:03:35 PM
You guys talk as if Manchester City are just doing well because  they have great players, you don't praise pep for his work, comparing city squad with Liverpool and Chelsea and Manchester United is not much different in term of quality.Vincent company, yaya toure, David Silva and kun Aguero have all left but you won't notice it because of the constant thinking of pep.
I have to completely agree with you on that, you hear people saying that City only play well cause they have quality players, but it's not all about having the players, you'll also have to manage them, and that's something pep is doing very well, for example they have been without a striker for a very long time and they are still scoring more goals that most of the teams in the world, the tactics pep brings to the game is second to none, and City's brilliance is not just down to the players, but also the ingenuity of the manager, and I think that City would actually have a couple of problems themselves when pep leaves the club.

United have offered France midfielder Paul Pogba, 28, a deal worth £500,000 a week to remain at the club. Very good offer but Pogba seems to have turned down the offer. Where he will end up?
To be honest, I don't really know why Manchester United board will offer Paul Pogba such a great deal to stay in the club, he is more or less a liability to the club and they really should have done away with him already, Paul Pogba and Manchester United are not meant to be, and I'm surprised the hierarchy at United aren't aware of that already, the player needs to move somewhere else and see if he can rediscover his form and talent, for now he really has nothing to offer Manchester United.
Argentina forward Lionel Messi, 34, could force his Paris St-Germain exit after just one season if the club fails to win the Champions League, according to former Barcelona midfielder and Spain international Lobo Carrasco. If this scenario really happens, then where will Messi go? Return to Barcelona?
I don't think Messi will actually leave PSG, but even if he does, there's no way he is going back to Barcelona, they are in a big financial mess and Messi can only be there if he actually agrees to play for free, City have been a long admirer of Messi, and as such the Etihad is always an option for him.
