Absolutely not worried about a bit of a price drop if it happens, although I doubt it will. I'm buying for the long term.

Ultimately, DRK is the ONLY coin with actual real world utility beyond BTC, it's been underpriced for a long time.

Fundamentals > pump&dump daytrader garbagecoins.

kaene, WRT your sig, I actually run my 3 270 rigs at 50% less wattage, measured at the wall, same clockspeeds as I used with scrypt/n    Cool

Yeah just had to pay over 0.003.

"ASICs strengthen the network," my tight muscular buttocks. Bloody carrier pigeons and smoke signals would be quicker then BTC and LTC.

Asics do nothing for network speed or security. If anything they hurt security by reducing the number of miners and concentrating hashing power into the hands of a few.

Oh I completely agree!  Cool

All that is happening is very exciting, I think this is the right time for all community members to promote DRK. I am taking upon myself to contact merchants today, I will call and/or email any merchant I can find that already accepts Vert or Litecoin and ask them to add DRK, this might take a few days to cause any impact but I will report back my progress. Pick something you can do and lets push together. I will also contact Robocoin and other ATM manufacturers and see what they say. Android wallet anybody?

Good stuff, been doing similar.

Just the announcement of a bounty on an Android wallet would be fantastic... there may be complications though with Darksend needing to be built in. Maybe eduffield has it in hand, who knows.

X11 does nothing to purposely obfuscate how ASICs can be developed for it (as opposed to scrypt-n).

Scrypt n doesn't obfuscate anything, it just makes the on-die RAM requirements financially/technologically unfeasable.

ANY algo (or algo chain like X11) can be quickly changed to instantly obsolete an existing ASIC design, if the devs are willing. The LTC guys could have done it with zero fuss and majority community backing, but they had already sunk millions into ASIC pre-orders, so came out with a load of blathering bollocks instead.

What do you have to do to be a masternode investor?

What implication's does DarkWallkets (a anon. bitcoin wallet) upcoming release have for darkcoin?

What makes DRK stand out vs. BTC used in darkwallet?

What are the technical differences?

DarkSend is here now (albeit currently in beta), it works, it's built directly into the client.

Dark Wallet is currently vapouware, will require browser extensions and other layers of code, providing a far bigger attack surface. And it's still tied to BTC, (though I suppose it could be modded to work with any coin) and BTC has other problems, godawful transaction times for a start, and a core dev team that is just too slow and indecisive these days. Plus the level of centralisation in the BTC network is just scary, and is getting worse.

I look at the current charts and in my head I hear the Unreal Tournament announcer: "UNSTOPPABLE!"

I don't know what drugs some of you are on but you should tell me so I can avoid them. Why the christ would you want a checkbox in your DRK wallet that says, "Yes please, rape me!"

Lets take the USP of DarkCoin and do a complete 180 on it! Brilliant idea lads!  Roll Eyes

It may not have gone down very well, but building in an opt-in third party ID verification system into mobile darkcoin wallets could give it the edge in the future for mainstream adoption, even while using DarkSend....here is why:

That article tells me that the author, Branson, Gates, and the other guy mentioned don't have a clue. Seriously, you have to be plain stupid to want MORE monitoring of your personal business by any self-proclaimed authority.

No, monitoring of us.....not them

Are you agreeing with me or disagreeing with me? Because I must caution you that one of those options is incorrect!

opt-in, means not mandatory.

I would look at it like exchanges. If you want to get fiat in or out, you have to tell them who you are. With Darksend, none of the personal information is gathered or linked to the blockchain.

Basic math tells me that fiat isn't worth what it's printed on. The whole shambles is overdue for complete collapse.

same problem for me it says syncing but it stays unsynced...
it is synced up to 57146 block

Anyone that is stuck syncing on windows, can you email the debug log to evan@darkcoin.io?

linux qt wallet v0.10.3.4-38-gd79df3d-beta still spending well over half its time syncing. Doesn't seem to be a showstopper, just a bit annoying.

I just realized today that I can mine x11 at 2mh/s and a scrypt coin at 350kh/s with each r9 280x.

I am scared to leave it on all day in case it kills my cards. Anyone else want to try first and tell me how it goes after 1 week?

That makes no sense. The r9 280x should give you 600-700 kh/s at least on scrypt coins.
Are you scared to leave your card mining Darkcoin or mining overall?
This can't kill the card, the software should prevent it from overheating.

Sorry, I meant "simultaneously". Mining x11 and scrypt. Two coins at once. I can mine an x11 coin at 2mh/s and a scrypt coin at 350kh/s simultaneously with each r9 280x.

Haha, never occurred to me to try that.

Still doesn't... Cheesy

Any believe that DRK can rise to 3$ for 1DRK? 5$? 10$? Shocked

I'm looking for a 100$ each. No one in their right mind would invest in something this risky if you didn't expect a huge payoff.

$100 / DRK would be a market cap of ~400 million, just over LTC now. Considering BTC is >6 billion, not at all unrealistic a year from now. Maybe sooner.

DRK may well be $3 by the time my BTC clears on Poloniex.  Angry

Is BTC mind bogglingly even slower than usual for anyone else today or is it just me?  Sad

Could anyone help me?

My wallet shows that it is currently synchronizing with the network -- however, It states that it is " 0 hours behind "

As far as i can tell, all my transactions are always up to date, and i instantly receive most payments.

My first steps to diagnose the problem were too delete peers.dat , blocks folder, and chainstate folder.

After a cold re-sync, The wallet is up to date for a few minutes before it resorts back to synchrnozing with the network with a status of " 0 hours behind " ...

When hovering over the progress bar it shows - 56,920 blocks out of 470,000 have been proccessed.

Can anyone explain this issue to me ?

Mine behaves exactly the same. Version v0.10.3.4-38-gd79df3d-beta.

Grab RC1, the version is v0.10.4.0. There was a bug with downloading blocks in the previous beta. I just tested both updated versions with no problem

Grabbed the latest from here:

All seems OK. Smiley
