I am interested in buying HD 7970 for mining bitcoins. But I am wondering if a HD 7970 will work on a pci 2.0 motherboard. As Its not intended for gaming but just for mining. And this bandwidth shouldn't make a difference on the mining performance. I want to 100% make sure it works before I go out and buy this as I am worried the screen could end up showing nothing.
Anyone tested or know for sure it would work? I had in the past tried a HD 5770 on a pci 1.0 slot which supposedly said would work fine. But nothing showed on the screen. So I am just worried the same thing won't happen here.
Me buying the pci 2.0 instead of pci 3.0 would save me a lot of money. So hopefully it works.
Also I heard of extender cables, so i can get a motherboard with 4 slots and just extend the cable into it hangs out. As 4 7970 wouldn't fit. Which site sell these extender cables? And which cables would work? As I plan on a four 7970 build. What is the cheapest possible configuration?
0.75 BTC bounty, To the cheapest possible configuration. And list the parts and price. I am in Canada so note the shipping costs as well. And sites that do ship to Canada.
Prize will be distributed to the winner on March 30th.

I0coin value seems to be a lot higher https://www.vircurex.com/main/indexAsk for 0.0002, Bid at 0.0001. Last time I checked it used to be 0.00002 something. So something must of happened? And did the i0coin coins i made eventually got put into the client? That was suppose to be the currency's logo.

The wattage dropped from 380 to 280 on the computer with tweaks, the device is very accurate, and my power bill is a lot less. So I have to include that it is accurate. *2X 6870 computer: 380>280* *2X 6950 computer: 430>330* How ever It is actually 30 watts per card, and 40watts for CPU. I did made an error about 42.5 watts. I measured about 3 times, tried back and forth, etc. To confirm http://www.canadiantire.ca/AST/browse/Green/BP/PRD~0528851P/Blue+Planet+Electronic+Energy+Meter.jsp?locale=enDevice I am using. I was thinking of making a Savinghardware site, instead of a mining hardware one. Where people can post there numbers on how much watts they saved using a device like mine, or similar. Maybe someone can make this site, and I can post all my numbers. I can post my 2X6770, 2X6870, 2X6950. And I can post three different cpus as well. It would be interesting to have a site like this.

Its way more then that, I bought a wattage reader device, and I plugged my computer into it. And it reads the current watt. I under clocked the memory on my ati 6950 from 1050 to 300 and It dropped 85 watts, which is 42.5 watts/card.
Blew me away, was kinda shocked to see that much of a drop. I did also under volt yielding another 20 watts or so. Cpu under clocking + under volting did another 40 watts or so on top of that.

hmm, as the coin though that I designed been put into the client? I guess no one is pushing i0coins anymore, now they aren't doing that great. http://allchains.info/106 gigahash But its from merge mining, I think merge mining made everyone have a lot of it, and now its not worth anything. Namecoin used to be 0.03, after merged mining it became 0.004, so it seems merge mining drops the value a lot. The only value i read for i0coin atm is 0.00002 at https://www.vircurex.com/main/index. which is like 500K for 10btc, its not worth much.

Just to show I am capable of making coins for other currencies, this one already represents i0coin, but i0coin turned out to not be successful as I thought. I can Make a CLC coin, if I was offered a bounty, in CLC and some btc. This is what is there atm, not mine. http://www.coiledcoin.org/I can improve upon its design if the price is right. And I had many other designs, but this was voted, If price is right, I will do the same thing, make 4 basic designs, have a vote on it, then make 4 font designs then have another vote, Combine design with font, add touch up which is what I did for i0coin https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=36425.1520Then Once its finished then make a 32X32, 64X64,128X128, 256X256, and fullXfull logo, Small can be used for the icon, bigger for webpage, etc. Best regards lightlord

Maybe a bug on allchains.info? I believe i0coin max is 10%, doubt it would be 11% as its a odd number. More likely to be round.

https://www.vircurex.com/ An exchange has been open. A lot of work has been put into i0coin from a group of people, i have made a logo for the i0coin, DoubleC doing programming, site put up of i0coin, and bug fixes. http://i0coin.bitparking.com/https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=36425.1600Is where all the discussion towards i0coin and enough interest brought programmers and people willing to bring i0coin to life. Merged mining, mine i0coin, namecoin and bitcoin at the same time. Mine here, post username, and get i0coin freebies, as listed in bounty & freebies list http://mmpool.bitparking.com/poolNew i0coin logo i0coin has advantages in several ways, its like a Solidcoin version 1, with no CPF, no centralization, and no super nodes. And the old solidcoin was very successful and even got to as much as 0.04 Bitcents. But now from this new solidcoin 2.0, and all of this add on which defeats the purpose of what the meaning of a decentralized currency means, it is only worth 0.007 now. I believe that i0coin as a community driven project, from interest from several people, that it could potentially overcome Solidcoin 2.0. And i0coin could perhaps be the replacement for Solidcoin 1.0 which was successful. i0coin is trading already, not very high, but with more work. We can make something out of our community. i0coin could use a new client, a client for its own currency to have a look to it and a feel. Feel free to help push this community driven project, that was volunteered by me, and DoubleC, and several others. And any work put towards a new client design, different from the Bitcoin client, and Solidcoin client, and Litecoin, i have a 50,000 i0coin bounty up for this. 500 i0coins (20 spots open) for posting why i0coins is good, and what could make it successful. That could be on bitcointalk.org as a different thread, on a forum, etc. i0coin Features-(75%-/10%+) Max difficulty adjustments -3 min block rates -6 hour adjustments -120 blocks -A place for solidcoin 1.0 that was successful, then ruined -Community driven project -No CPF, no supernodes, no preminingBounty & Freebies-50,000 i0c towards a new i0coin client -750 i0c(10 spots open) Accepting on there pool & trading -500 i0c(20 spots open) posting about i0coin, threads, sites, etc -30 i0c (250 spots open)(1 per person) Free i0coins to anyone who trades, post evidence -10 i0c (250 spots open)(1 per person) Free i0coins to anyone who posts a i0coin address -5 i0c(500 spots open)(1 per person) http://mmpool.bitparking.com/pool Free i0coins to anyone who uses the merge mining, post your user name account for verification.

When is the new i0coin logo going to be used for the client? Still don't see it. And also maybe put it on http://i0coin.bitparking.com/As every currency has its coin on its home page. This should have its as well. And this coin is well made, put it to good use. I want to see more of it used.

I don't know about the new one, about the rim changes, it does tip the balance, and doesn't look flat, but a weird outwards look. If you do like it, then i can change all of these to the new one above. The importance here is that i0coin gets its new look, and doesn't use BTC coin in the client. Its already very good, there isn't really anything to improve on here.
