3081  Economy / Economics / Re: The world’s baby shortfall is so bad that the labor shortage will last for years on: November 27, 2022, 11:38:59 PM
Given how a lot of jobs are being automated right now, I guess the decline in birth rates wouldn't be any problem at all. In manual labor and trades where manpower is really needed, perhaps that will be the industry which would be hit the most. Outsourcing employees has been the go-to of Western countries for a long time if they want something done at a very cheap rate, and if Western employers are keen on extending their workforce without having to pick underqualified Westerners for the job, they can invest on some workers from Asia and other populous countries and fly them to where they wanted them to do the job. Quite expensive investment at first but it pays off knowing how a lot of Asian people have good work ethics even in this day and age of quitters and "quite resignation" trend.

Also, there's a rumor that I've read that the ex-roster of Evil Geniuses, there are 2 organizations that are interested to buy them. The 100 thieves and Cloud 9. Many will like it if Cloud 9 on boards them to their org.

Never heard of 100 thieves again for a long time. It would be interesting how they would handle a dota 2 roster given that most of the teams they held were for FPS games. Ex-EG players are still a good investment IMO, and it'll be no surprise if these two NA orgs would be trying to up each other for them to acquire these experienced guys. Would be nice to see C9's name again in pro Dota. Their name is synonymous to NA for the last decade or so, be it CS or Dota 2.
3083  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: El Salvador Establishes New National Bitcoin Office on: November 27, 2022, 04:17:49 PM
They really are dedicated with this thing it seems. They have been constantly trying to improve theie country to become as friendly to bitcoin as possible. Great initiative from the current government and hopefully it stays like that even if the head of state changes seat. El Salvador might not be the finest country to tour in nor is it a tech hub of some sorts, but the government recognizes something considered as 'disruptive' and took their time with it. Hopefully the office is manned by those who aren't bought by money no matter the price.

Grand finals on Heroic vs FaZe today. I'm leaning towards Heroic given how well their run is and just beating Navi in a very convincing fashion. FaZe seemed to still be in hanging on a thread even after their win against NiP. If Ropz hadn't stepped up on the last round in Nuke, things would have been different and NiP would have been here today against Heroic. FaZe better be shutting down cadiaN a lot if they want to win against the Danish roster. Sjuush and jabbi's lurk is also something to be aware of if FaZe wants to get a fighting chance. Broky is consistently putting in the numbers for FaZe; that will help but surely not enough if their executions and timings aren't that good.
3085  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why are crypto devs so greedy on: November 27, 2022, 02:17:50 PM
This does not elaborate why crypto devs are 'greedy'. This just points out one negative thing about investing in crypto and the system that's in place causing it to fail. Devs are greedy because they think of securing assets for themselves by means of premine and shaky roadmaps that are intended to fast track their coin's way to an exchange so they can receive their paychecks. They never bother hearing about suggestions. All they want is to take the profits and give minimal attention to the coins they are supposed to take care of.
3086  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: FTX drama stressing people for no reason | How to stay neutral on: November 27, 2022, 01:05:01 PM
It's in the human psyche: spread awareness if they have been burned by something even if it's partly their responsibility. Even if it comes off as something utterly negative without expressing valid points, they'd still go out and cry wolf when they already lost a lot. Nothing to do about that honestly, and if people really are into crypto, no matter how much fear-mongering there is all over you'll never really think about it and consider those to affect your choices and your decision on how you will be doing crypto moving forward.

People have been burned because they haven't been careful. A lot of times in the past were we already saying that never ever leave your money in exchanges. Guess what, FTX was a big exchange, and because of that everyone felt they were secure and BAM! The unimaginable happen. Understandable that people will be upset, and some will even go to lengths to swear to their teeth that crypto as a whole is just a fad.
3087  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SBF another New York Times speaker on: November 26, 2022, 11:44:54 PM
SBF should really consider not attending for the sake of self-respect and being aware of the situation he is in. Imagine a lot of people already expressing their distaste of the situation and you still managed to tweet about it and boast that you'll be a speaker of some sort on an event attended by the leading names in their respected fields. Well what could you really do? The man has lots of valuable connections. Even though he fucked up big time he'll still be welcome to dine in a table for the elites.
3088  Other / Politics & Society / Re: CEO pay has skyrocketed 1,460% since 1978 on: November 26, 2022, 11:09:32 PM
There are some CEOs that opted to receive a minimum pay, but even that isn't impressive when you find out that they're doing this to avoid taxes and keep much of the bonuses that they receive as is. CEOs are, in today's day and age, figureheads/face of the company that doesn't do much in running the actual score. They're paid to exist there, and sometimes give out advice but the main decision making lies on the hands of the board of directors.

Heck, if there's a fast-track to becoming a CEO, I guess a lot of us will do that. The perks, pay, and everything else seems nice at the top at the expense of the workers and the underlings.
3089  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: November 26, 2022, 10:28:17 PM
FaZe is actually another team which is a mess in the recent times. They just seemed more alive than NaVi in their Heroic matchup before. But now they are showing another inconsistency example against NIP. They already need to make a comeback to be able to qualify for grand final. Nuke is one of the most successful maps for FaZe and it is the total opposite for NIP. But we never know what can happen while NIP is fired up and FaZe is not a credible team.

If FaZe manage to win this map the decider is going to be Mirage. This is even a worse map (14% WR) for NIP again while it is among the best maps for FaZe (67% WR). Even if FaZe qualify for grand final this time their job might not be as easy as the first one against Heroic. Because after losing to FaZe, Heroic have showed a great reaction by eliminating some other big teams like G2 and Liquid.

Mirage is one of those maps that a lot of great teams fail to get good at. The map has been around for almost a decade and I still see teams that has a very low win rate on the said map. NiP must secure their T-side rounds if they want to win this map, whereas Faze can just chill around and bide their time as they know this map pretty well somehow.

Stake and Sportsbet.io can do that for you. The first one has a casino embedded within its platform while the other one is a sponsor on some of the world's largest sporting events. Personally I'd choose Stake not because of my signature, but because I like the UI and games get graded extremely fast. Also their community answers question faster than support can (sometimes) Cheesy
3091  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: November 26, 2022, 08:45:07 PM
I really don't understand what is going on with Natus Vincere these days. They are eliminated in another tournament officially. I was believing in them against NIP. Because NIP were also a not very consistent team for a long time and I thought Natus Vincere would defeat them thanks to their quality. But they failed on the decider map by 16-10. s1mple wasn't ahead with his statistics this time. When he doesn't do an extra job the team struggle even more. es3tag and Brollan had the biggest role in NIP's win on this map by the way.

I'm thinking about if FaZe's end could also be like Natus Vincere's. Because they are not in a very different condition than them recently. Whichever team win this matchup they are going to be Heroic's opponent in the grand final. The grand final winner goes to the World Final but the loser is just taking the money.

NiP just won the first map against Faze. I thought Faze had it when they were rolling into the bombsite round after round, until that great lurks from aleksib that catches Faze off guard. Props to karrigan for the strats that are really cancer when it comes to taking A site in OVP, but the Ninjas easily figure out how that rotation works and they just shut down Faze since round 22 up until they won the map. Now I'm kinda rooting for a Heroic - NiP grand finals because of how well the latter is performing.
3092  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Qatar World Cup Betting Tips on: November 26, 2022, 08:20:09 PM
You could take a look at the 0-0 of matches, or maybe the 0-0 at halftime. We've really had quite a few games with this result. Perhaps there is also a certain value of the number of goals under 2.5. Odds there are normally around 1.70 and we have seen few goals this World Cup. France still booked a snap and narrow victory, but Denmark should have achieved a draw as a result. Everything is still possible for 2nd place in this group.

Yes that 0-0 in halftime would have been a major value booster. This is what I love in football, you can tweak your bet and get some more value from it while still being safe in terms of results. Then again, I think this tip was just a guide on how would the games pan out in general and not something that can be shadowed 100%. Nonetheless still great of OP to share.
3093  Other / Off-topic / Re: Geely is rolling out swap stations for heavy duty EVs like cement mixers on: November 25, 2022, 11:59:29 PM
I'm planning to buy out a Geely Okavango because of how good and how cheap it is compared to other hybrids and EVs that are coming out of the market. I do not know that they also have cement mixers as and other heavy machineries that are electric, and this might be a game changer in the said industry because of how cheap it could be to run and maintain such vehicles that are always constantly under heavy load. At the least, Geely is trying to answer that question of the environmental-friendliness of electric vehicles, but the question is, what will they even do with the battery packs that are swapped out? Recycle it or refurbish it to repurpose?
3094  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: November 25, 2022, 10:52:23 PM
Heroic, led by Cadian, eliminated the G2 team. Although they were defeated 16-6 on Nuke, Heroic were successful on other maps. There is instability in G2, as always. Niko, m0nesy and Hunter are okay but I think the new signings are the wrong choice as I have said before. They made a mistake sending Nexa off the team and now they're paying for it.

On the Navi side, I see b1t very out of shape yesterday and today, he does not contribute enough to the team and moreover, it makes the team's work on the maps difficult. He was quite unsuccessful in the inferno individually. It is going bad individually on the Mirage map, and now the first half is about to end. The facial expressions of the players in the team tell a lot morels have already started to deteriorate, of course, there is also the effect of yesterday.

Mid round decision is what causing G2's instability. Their t-side is extremely shaky and easily readable. I think nexa could have easily made the change as the dude's also a very capable entry fragger but meh.

On the other hand Navi is being pummeled by NIP currently, with s1mple showing obvious signs of frustration every time he thought they have the round and just lost. OVP is a very CT-sided map, but this last map for Navi doesn't look like it.
3095  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cock fight game on: November 25, 2022, 08:50:26 PM
I thought Muslims are prohibited to gamble? Huh But anyway, I am not for animal fights. I believe that this should no longer be held as these things have lives like us, and should always be free to roam around and do what they want. If they are killed for nutrition, I guess it's somewhat okay. But we are forcing these guys to go into survival mode which, afterwards they will still be killed if their injuries are so severe that they can no longer walk or do things on their own. We may be breeding chickens, pigs, cows, and whatever livestock you can ever imagine for food, but most of the methods used to slaughter them are often painless in this day and age. Plus, they get to live in an okay condition since they are being fed and whatnot, so raising livestock for food > raising cocks for human entertainment.
3096  Economy / Economics / Re: Can A Redesign of A Countries Currency Note Improve Its Economy? on: November 25, 2022, 07:38:13 PM
It all depends on why they are doing it....

If they want to improve the security measures on the currency to prevent counterfeiting .. it might help to boost the economy. You only want citizens to use the legal currency that are minted or printed by the government. (Counterfeit currencies inflate the supply of the local currency) - These illicit activities steal market share from legitimate businesses and undermine innovation, with negative implications for economic growth.

Then again.... if you increase the denomination of the currency to adapt to hyperinflation (Like the Zimbabwian 1 Trillion Dollar notes) ... you will set yourself up for failure.   Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

The main concern that they have considered in redesigning their bank note is to decrease the number of said money in circulation which is.. very counterintuitive. They just spent some resources in redesigning their note, put it out in circulation, and tried to retrieve back those old notes. They just spent more to gain nothing. If Nigeria really want to improve their economy, why not try to invest on other things that can make actual money by not printing it? I don't see any point in this honestly.
3097  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The History of Bingo on: November 25, 2022, 06:32:51 PM
I remember my parents taking me to the mall and leaving me in an arcade to play bingo for some time. They are very lucky when it comes to this game and even managed to win an amount equal to $4000 at one point in time. It is one of those gambling games that are too slow to pan out and bets are low. Sometimes the time you spent on playing one isn't even worth it, and definitely not exciting compared to other casino games that are very popular right now. Perhaps the main reason why a lot of elderly people are playing this is because of its slow-paced development that don't require them to be on high alert at all times.
3098  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does MMA Have A Gambling Problem? on: November 25, 2022, 05:46:09 PM
This is not easy to stop. MMA may put players under contract to not bet on any sports bookie but they could just ask someone else to bet for them on the losing side, all the player has to do is act like he will lose the fight.
Let's face it, this happened in boxing a long time ago, with the exception of the Mafia, even fighters do it. Either they are bought to lose the game and make more money or they put a big bet for their opponent winning.

Exactly my thoughts. No one can ever know if a fight is about to get rigged specially on higher tier matches. They can just spread their bets on multiple bookies and let the fighter do their thing inside the ring. No one will ever know, and they can't just assume that fighter A intentionally lost the fight because someone on one bookie bet big on him to win. It could be anyone else for all they know.

But there's a risk factor here. In MMA, they could get hurt pretty badly or worse, die.

They are guaranteed to get hurt pretty badly every time they step on the ring, so why not get something from getting hurt more than the paycheck the fighting organization give you anyway?  Wink
3099  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: November 25, 2022, 05:08:42 PM
It's pretty obvious from the get go. Tryke, one of the bosses of Blacklist, is actually good friends with all of those that were acquired by the org for their dota roster. I'm just not sure why they picked Raven over Gabbi in the carry position given that Gabbi has gained notoriety for his role with these guys (Tims, Kuku) as his supports. But whatever talks they had behind closed doors, for sure Gabbi was considered, it's just that Raven, perhaps, may have been actively putting his best foot forward with the recommendation of Kuku as well.

Yep, Also Alodia is one of the owner of this since Blacklist is under the Tier One company that owned by Alodia. Typically people connected on the team has information regarding this news besides there’s nothing weong to share the potential roster line up since they are new and probably the manage wants a spotlight and publicity to make there brand popular to the public. I think Blacklist will be the next TNC predator of the Philippines which is the favorite team of Filipino community with the current prospect line-up.

Blacklist is good on scouting players as they already prove themselves by founding this same team on ML with a solid achievement since there day 1. I think Alodia charsima and connection what makes this e-sports brand easily get the perfect roster that they want. Imagine snatching players from well known teams is not an easy easy feat if Blacklist is not owned by influential people in PH.

Hopefully they don't fall off like TNC. The problem with TNC is that tjey never pushed their players hard enough and supported them hard enough to make an actual difference for their players who are, back then, hungry for tournaments and wins. I remember after their first TI and good placing, eventually dropping Miracle and co., they somehow settled with that win and didn't attend/join much of the minor tournaments for the grind. Hopefully Tryke and Alodia changes that, as we see in their ML squad they are pretty hands-on and supportive of the players they have.

On the other team, it's now official that Blacklist-International Dota 2 roster have been announced. The rumor about this team have come into reality.

1. Raven
2. Karl
3. Kuku
4. Tims
5. Eyyou

There will be no communication barrier for these players and all of them are experienced and great players. It's now one of the most awaited team.

I've seen fan pages earlier that have posted their roster prediction and it is obviously edited and pure speculation but I'm amazed that the speculative poster where the exactly the Blacklist international roster which were posted 6 hours apart. What an amazing community predicting who will be the Blacklist roster will be. This will be a sure hype for Filipino fans since it's a Filipino made team and yeah the communication isn't a problem and addition to that 3 out of 5 players where competed in the TI at the same team which is famous for the OG upset in 2016. I'm pretty glad that they signed kuku and others Filipino members to build that kind of team.
That's not pure speculation.

Probably a close friend from any of those player or the organization itself, it's been shared already and didn't want to have it said as an official so they made it look like a pure speculation.

There's always an insider and someone people who are aware of the roster changes. If I remember, there's one that's been doing that on the reddit in the name of lgdamefan. But he's missing in action this season.
