3081  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Risks of instituations holding bitcoin on: March 31, 2021, 01:03:08 PM
Before many institutions invested in Bitcoin, Bitcoin was still a high risk asset. So I am always prepared for all the risks that will occur
if the institution will sell Bitcoin in large quantities. But I believe that investment institutions in Bitcoin for the long term, even some
institutions continue to buy Bitcoin. So I believe the institution will be holding for at least the next 5-10 years. So with many institutions
holding Bitcoin, in my opinion, it is a good thing to be able to push the price of Bitcoin to continue to rise.
true . holding bitcoin is risky because it was the popular of all crypto but being popular also makes this coin safe and i think the op is talking to instituions that invest in bitcoin and not to us non institutional investors or if what will be the effect to us whenever insitutions sold btc  . there is more than one insitutions that invest in btc but they didnt do it to push the price up and some of them can sell anytime

It has to go up more before the institutions would sell, it barely step up to break ATH yet while they are coming into crypto. they are still consolidating phase, the more BTC they hold the higher the risk will be when one day they'd start dumping. there are a lot of influencers though stating that due to the adoption right now, it may not really be a big dump if there will be a bear market. a SUPER cycle of BTC bullrun is coming so they say.

3082  Economy / Speculation / Re: The reasons why Bitcoin price drops recently on: March 31, 2021, 10:45:33 AM
Stop trying to attribute every single price movement to some underlying event.

Sometimes corrections simply happen because of chance. A position might be closed by a whale, which triggers some arbitrary TA signal, leading to an adjustment without any external shock.

The market is overwhelmingly bullish still, and these bearish episodes should be short lived so long as institutional investors continue to pile in from all directions.
Bitcoin's price fluctuation is a normal situation as supply and demand are always determining factor. Speculation may not be stopped, but we know that institutional investor are the strongest proponent that price will not fall on a large scale. We can even see it dropping by up to 20% in one period, but the market will recover as soon as the trader panic subside. The FUD will affect people and a wave of panic will inevitably arise when they believe that news can affect the price. But in fact, bitcoin has been trusted and has great support and is getting stronger as a long-term investment asset.

the price fluctuation today though isn't very normal. it looks like they are pulling the price down. it's about to surprise me april fool!
somehow it's giving a chance to small investors who are buying the news. i thought my sell order is going to be filled if it reaches up to $60k and just when it's about to hit, the price dips again.

3083  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What's the point of so many cryptocurrencies? on: March 31, 2021, 09:38:11 AM

the thing without opensource is that it attracts developers to create their own version. this is why the first influx of altcoins has its own blockchains. before the ICO boom, there were tons of altcoins already having their own blockchain and mostly are listed to exchanges easily like crypsy and so on. you can tell from that time that it's mostly just a means to get BTC from investors. this time however there are altcoins that have a use case and some are still just a distraction to other altcoins like the eth killers.

I believe that it is thanks to the popularity of Bitcoin that a lot of cryptocurrencies appear every year. Initially, the developers' actions were aimed at improving BTC and eliminating shortcomings. For the entire existence of the cryptocurrency market
a very large number of projects appeared and immediately disappeared, which could not even interest investors and other users of the cryptocurrency. But today, many cryptocurrencies survive due to competition with each other, and each of these cryptocurrencies has its own fans, thanks to which these cryptocurrencies do not feel bad in the market, having large trading volumes and volume capitalization. But if we consider cryptocurrency from the point of view of real benefits for society, then cryptography can be used with great success in various sectors of human life, including genetics, bionics, pharmaceuticals, genetic engineering, as well as in space and nuclear industries. Based on this, I am sure that we will observe the emergence of new projects and, accordingly, new cryptocurrencies for a very long time, but only the most popular and promising ones will survive.

I agree, the popularity of alt coins and crypto coins in general is dependent on bitcoins. Without the huge success in bitcoins we would see much less investors in the crypto world. But how many different crypto coins are going to be enough? There is a lot of competition already between different coins. And for companies who accept crypto coins for payment it is getting harder to decide which coins to include. Should doge or lite coin be included? Or is ETH and bitcoin cash enough? The more coins there are the harder it is to unify the market.

due to the development today that we can already create tokens easily, there is no end to developing new coins. every person could even have their own coin.

3084  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Cotto vs Marquez - Exhibition match on: March 31, 2021, 08:49:30 AM
This is a surprise:

Surprising indeed lol, Marquez could have choose to fight Pacquiao at this stage, they have unfinished business so to speak.
He could have get more than this exhibition match.

Oh well, retired boxers are now on the exhibition match. I think this fight should have happened when they are still fighting, Pacquiao has the luxury to fight these two legendary boxers, specially Marquez. Information is sketchy at this point.

Perhaps Cotto will be the slight favourite here.

Cotto will be the favorite here, no doubt about that because he is the bigger and younger of the two.

Cotto have not fought Marquez because of boxing politics, Bob Arum was too focused on milking Pacman at that time that they missed this match-up.

Pacman is easy to promote, everybody likes seeing knockouts every time and his story is easy to sell. it would have been a good match. there were talks between Cotto and Marquez when Cotto was searching for a big fight before he retires but it never happened because again boxing politics, they first want Mayweather and Connor. Money is the first priority.

3085  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: looking for a partner for a PTP crypto forums on: March 31, 2021, 08:29:25 AM

it's not easy to develop a community especially when there is already a bitcointalk. there are several other crypto forums out there developed in the name of their own project like ETH forum but don't they have a community as active as this forum. not to discourage you, it's going to still be a battle for you to rank up on search results, it needs constant SEO. but there is no harm in trying.

3086  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Cotto vs Marquez - Exhibition match on: March 31, 2021, 07:00:27 AM

cotto is a lot younger. exhibition match is becoming a trend in sports. they still fight like there is a belt at risk which makes it entertaining still. seem one way to make money from the people who still have time for entertainment despite the setback due to pandemic. i'd bet for cotto.

Nice to see those 2 boxers will back again at the ring, even at an exhibition.

2 popular boxers on their time, both also got demolished by Manny Pacquaio although Marquez got sweet revenge out of pure determination and hunger to beat the People's champ.

Expecting more information will come after the announcement.
I think that Marquez' defeating Pacquiao in their last match made some kind of downfall for the People's Champ career and many Filipino fans were shocked by that knockout. This will be a good fight though considering that they are both good fighters and I would consider this to be a good fight.

my father in law whos a big fan of Pacquiao doesn't even want to talk about Manny's loss. all he is saying was that it's a lucky punch. it's clearly not, it's sort of a Marquez fight plan.
3087  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Your thoughts on Altcoin bullrun on: March 31, 2021, 06:22:44 AM

HOLO was actually a top coin even back in 2018, its a good project but mining it includes but their own device that i didn't even tried reading after learning it. but when it was on its deepest price i was looking to buy it which now i'm regretting i did not. so is Pundits.

i don't think the bullrun will stop as early as possible. there could really be a big cycle ahead of us that we could break the ATHs of BTC. it's just a matter of time.
3088  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is gambling a business on: March 30, 2021, 04:25:07 PM

if you make it your business then it's a business. most pro gamblers are rich and those who are not rich but still keeps on gambling then it's a big problem on their part. it's not good to make it like gambling is the source of income. they end up taking a loan in exchange for something valuable like their car. but we could be calling it addiction already when they don't stop until there is nothing to gamble. gambling business can only be good if you own the casino yourself.
3089  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Nicole wants to give up her taxi in exchange for bitcoin on: March 30, 2021, 09:18:30 AM

it's not a good idea to go all-in without even have plans for her where to get the daily needs, she's going to spend the BTC she bought later on. she's gonna end up looking for a job instead of having a steady income thru the taxi business.

why not accept BTC as payment for the taxi ride?  with this, she can accumulate BTC from the Bitcoin users, doesn't even have to buy.
3090  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Is it worth taking BTC off an exchange to a hardware wallet? on: March 30, 2021, 08:02:43 AM

the withdrawal fee of bitcoin isn't that much anyway so go after all you seem to have no plans of trading everyday. its normal for longterm holder to just withdraw from exchanges and put them on their personal wallet. hardware wallets are good for keeping your BTC. i have not tried any of it but only the private keys that i'm keeping as i feel comfortable doing it.  keeping a few BTC on exchange is an option, just to make sure you can withdraw funds easily.

3091  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Your thoughts on Altcoin bullrun on: March 30, 2021, 06:31:02 AM

and this bull run is different with the past mate

This is why I think the bull run for altcoins is not to bull, the bull is selective this time. It was almost all the altcoins in 2017 that had the impact of the bull. Now this year, top altcoins have been having bull since, like bnb and ETH before some more altcoins are joining in the bull. Generally, I think it is not taking a uniform progression.
It's because people have stopped throwing money at every altcoins they see unlike in the past which actually is good since people are more selective and invest only in good coin although there are some good coins that aren't experiencing the altcoin pump right now.
Can't really compare the current bullrun to the one in 2017 because it's really different.

very selective and the ones i thought will actually rise above are the ones that are outranked. i really thought lisk and waves are still up to go beyond top 20 since the beginning of the year, disappointing to see it's not running up. their value however is somehow good as it's also appreciating.

The last 5 months have been an uphill ride for most of us wherein we have gained so much in altcoins especially those coins which were literally dead or simply considered as shit coins like HOT(Holo), Pundi but they have given massive profit with unexpected pump wherein XRP, XLM who were front runners at the beginning of bullrun are at standby mode compared to their previous bullrun during 2017. What's your though on this?
For NPXS (Pundi) it is quite surprising because the price was once only one satoshi and sees a few days ago the price has gone up now around 13 satoshis, this news NPXS Will Be PUNDIX seems to have an impact on the NPXS price.
Is the price increase of some altcoins that can be said to be almost dead can describe the Altcoin bullrun? I don't have idea, I only think this the right time for a long time hold to sell the coin to take profit.

since the time when there was an article published on cointelegraph which NPXS partnered with big players, it already continued to have their season. if anyone has seen this coming back 2018, they could have bought millions of this token for $1k.

3092  Economy / Gambling / Re: Max bet amount at Stake.com on: March 30, 2021, 06:05:25 AM

Hi
I want to have new topic

How I can ?
What Kind of topic are you referring ? it depends on your topic if where to put but if it is about gambling then Just post in this same section .

That arrow i pointed will drive you to creating a New topic but make sure that it is valuable and worth posting or else it will be deleted by the mods.

as stunna said that in stake.com bets of up to more than 1Million Euros have been accepted,
That is really A high Roller , Accepting 1 million Euros Per roll means you can try your luck the highest way you wanted, How Great Stake.com is..

that's about 20.45BTC right now. stake.com definitely a place for high rollers. maybe 5 to 10 years ago there could be a lot of users betting that much but in today's value, rarely few might do it. in sports betting, there could be.

stake.com is a great platform to bet. they even do giveaways when you constantly play there. today i claimed my UFC Double Winnings promotion. i never got any amount back somewhere else but stake.

3093  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: VISA Completes First Cryptocurrency Transaction on Ethereum on: March 29, 2021, 04:45:08 PM
it's in Latin America where there are more unbank people which is why there are more demands there. but won't this also have a high fee as it's on the Ether network?

hope to see a new ATH with this news. it's been sitting on the 54k-57k for a while already it gets dull. it shoots today but didn't breakout thoroughly, a new month and a new green candle stick hopefully.

3094  Economy / Reputation / Re: Let's take action against unpaid Signature/Bounty campaign together. on: March 29, 2021, 02:06:20 PM

what's frustrating about not getting paid is that their tokens have already value and listed to good exchanges and uniswap. the team looks pretty decent and has been developing their project but just keeping them the promise to send the tokens in months and when the time comes they move the dates again.

they are left waiting and if they ruin the reputation of the project, the price will start dropping. it's a situation where they want to get paid but not wanting their earnings to drop as well. i experience this myself.  Grin
3095  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and tax in your countries on: March 29, 2021, 11:40:41 AM
I would like to hear about the situation with bitcoin and taxes in your countries.
I think it would be interesting to hear different experiences and compare results across countries.
Of course, I understand that in some countries you can't declare bitcoin tax.
I'm not interested in these countries but the ones where it is possible to declare and pay bitcoin tax.
I will start first.
In Croatia, several years ago we received clear instructions from the tax office on how to file a bitcoin tax.
In short, we must lead FIFO and if we can prove that we held btc funds more than 2 years, than we don't need to pay tax (long term investment).
If we have kept btc funds for less than 2 years, we pay 12 % tax plus surtax.
Can you share situation in your country?

In Ukraine not so long ago yhe draft law has been adopted about the cryptocurrency and regulations in the direction of taxes and so on. In this draft bill, a virtual asset is defined as a collection of data in electronic form, which has a value and exists in the system of circulation of virtual assets. And people must declare their crypto assets in their every year declarations. But there are lots of aspects that are not fully finalized.
Last year I read an article about the EU taking a positive step towards cryptocurrency and making AML/KYC a priority for cryto related organization but with your explanation and the support choose toward cryptocurrency by the EU government does it tax is a must in Ukraine or it varies?

The EU is always trying to regulate everything and this often ends up with too much bureaucracy and unnecessary rules  Grin
As far as I remember, the EU court has somehow legalized bitcoin and now it remains for EU member states to agree on practical details and rules for crypto.
It seems that step by step all countries are adopting more and more rules about crypto and are slowly regulating this area which is actually good for users who will be able to more easily legalize their crypto earnings.

EU countries had long been making laws about crypto so its not surprising. but why do you bitcoin holder for 2 years in Croatia have to pay 12% when you are not gaining from it?  as if they've determined already that when you hold BTC for 2 years you already have withdrawn some cash thru the investment. if i am a holder for long term in this country i would rather not make my btc known.

my country doesn't yet have laws about it. hope they'd not make soon.

3096  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Efforts of holding wasted on: March 29, 2021, 07:59:39 AM
People be like
Don't always sell all the coins and tokens you own because they can rise in future but I've hold so many coins since 2018 and only very few gives me 50$ to 70$  Grin today, isn't this laughable??

I be like
It's always wise to hold only very popular coins for future sake like the period we are in presently, not all altcoins will pump and give you a thousand dollar gain or more, if I've spent my time to gather top altcoins I would be in happy mood right now
In my opinion, there is no obvious hold and will certainly win for all types of altcoins. You have to be sure for the best, how to understand if it gets stuck in growth and is driven by a lever to trust. Even ETH, I sold my beef for $ 150 at the end of 2018 and look back at my mistake now. Therefore, I believe that HOLD is still the preferred form for maximum profit.

no all types of altcoins. some are in fact dead.
do not hold the tokens you know aren't going to b valuable. you will know that from the beginning when you look at the purpose of the project. if it's just about a project that will work for a particular community where only a few will benefit then it's not going to have good value. why buy it in the first place. buy the ones that you think will have future potentials.

3097  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price predictions based on actual data / mathematics on: March 29, 2021, 06:35:31 AM

BTC as they say is a speculative asset, the predictions are all speculations. the biggest so far that i've read was $1M. as much as i want that to happen, it will not probably go that high this 2021. the latest i've read on cointelegraph was $400k here is the article.

no one is sure how much will it go. if the institutions are really going to come and send in their money to BTC, its price will go up that's for sure yet no one will still be able to predict a certain number.
3098  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Ray Dalio predicting bitcoin to be outlawed on: March 28, 2021, 03:20:05 PM
A general ban on bitcoin and crypto in general is not viable right now. The state could well find a way to put some indirect bans but that won't help with their goal. I think they guy only want to throw the ball in the arena to see what's the sentiment and get a feeling of could be a possible reaction to it. IMHO, I don't see it happening.

probably. the number of investors coming into crypto already increasing including the big names who were from different markets are here already. they'd considered criminals.

but they were just discussing the possibilities because during the way back financial crisis, they were also forcing people to surrender their gold otherwise they'd be outlaws. They were just thinking that history could repeat itself again, this time its BTC.
3099  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: March 28, 2021, 01:03:24 PM
~
Tyron Woodley lost another fight, he started aggressively but he was caught flush throwing punches and his legs gave out and then Vicente Luque was able to choke him out. Abubakar Nurmagomedov won the fight and Sean O'Malley had a good fight as well.

DAMN Francis Ngannou knocks out Miocic
Tyron Woodley was always known to involve in boring fights but in this fight it was a good first round and Tyron Woodley did not fight safely and hence it was the fight of the night and Vicente Luque came out on top and this might be the last fight for Tyron Woodely in the UFC as this is the 4th consecutive loss.

@Bttzed03 exactly Stipe Miocic had a great chin in the first round and the moment Ngannou stuffed the take down it was over and Stipe Miocic rushed in even though he was hurt and you cannot take much from Francis Ngannou

Ngannou avoided the takedown and ended up controlling Moicic instead from the back. I thought the fight will end already in the first round while Ngannou is on top. when Ngannou landed the power left jab, Moicic's feet wobbled looks very dramatic the hammer fist wasn't necessary anymore he blackout.

so this is the end of Woodley right? felt bad for the guy, he tried his best. Bellator might have a place for him.

3100  Bitcoin / Legal / Ray Dalio predicting bitcoin to be outlawed on: March 28, 2021, 09:38:18 AM

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h3QmfOH1xZA

i just saw the video today but it was published yesterday. this is PBD podcast/video where they talk about it being outlawed and regulation about BTC and the government going to regulate heavily. is it going to be possible?

just a small talk about regulations actually although they were saying that it's just going to be outlawed temporarily, when do you think this will happen if it really will?
in the end of the discussion, the two guests are actually very bullish to BTC that they are optimistic that it will go up to a million.
