30961  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: S7? LOL on: April 19, 2016, 05:18:26 AM
Interesting thread, thanks to OP for starting it off.

I have been mining ETH with GPU for a little while now a week and a half basically and did pool mining at first for a little while but thought I would give Solomining a try.

Has not been too bad, only have one R9 280X with around 24MH/s hashrate and I found two blocks in 3 days which I thought was quite good going.

Will leave it running for a couple more days before going away as don't want it on when I can not keep an eye on it.

Mining ETH on a GPU does not stress it as much as what Scrypt did, that's for sure, from what i can see.

With Scrypt running at full hashrate, it was hard to do anything else on your PC but with ETH even when mining, you can still do other tasks without it affecting things.

have you tired the r9 390s and how much hash can you get out of them?!? Huh

R9's 390s cost a lot.   They do 27-30 a card

I did get four from Amazon warehouse at 291 each which is a good priced.  Used 30 day return policy

i'm using an evga 1300w ps, maybe the new one fan units require all 3 power plugs to be populated? tried all three in one board to no avail

Did you try two boards?

Did you try a freq of 600?

That psu may just not have enough juice.

Both idea above would work for you if the psu is short the power needed.

As I recall the new miner uses about 1300 watts dc.

Which would be pushing that psu very hard

Can I put my new guess in for 65%?

I couldn't find a big enough opening for in the 50's...

Thanks...

10% higher then last is the minimum

so you can do 52.5    and above  as high as you want to.

  like 65.65

fits in between  63.45 and  68 pretty well

my new guess is 50.25% ...

Looking at the way we are picking  and doing some quick  calculations  leaving at   2 % distance  makes its easy to figure.  I have a dead pick of 37.37  I have to pick  at least 47.37

Gpu5 looks like its overheating.  Try mining without it.

Yeah the temps are going up then tank.

Just disconnect it and then run the gear.

30973  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / PPC Peercoin forcing upgrade to 5.3 if you have peerunity wallet 5.2 on: April 18, 2016, 12:43:01 AM

So A while back I did a hedge investment in Peercoin  or PPC

I had 1570 cons in a peerunity 5.2 wallet on my mac mini.

Macs are very good for wallets.

Load and set the wallet up on the mac then use superduper to clone the os hdd

and boom a perfect back up.

unlike windowds  that backup hdd will work on other mac mini s.

So put the copy 1 in a bank safety deposit box put the second copy in an in house fire box

and you have very good back up of the wallet.

So today my peerunity wallet said you must up grade me from 5.2 to 5.3.

I am not going to risk 1570 coins that are sitting and minting in the wallet even though I have back up wallets.

So I pulled the coins put them in an exchange.  Went back to to the up date with a mere .19 coins in the wallet

and the wallet said go to peercoin talk.  guess what the mac version is not done yet.

here is the thread

find some one to design a custom break out board with cable plug or figure out how to solider wires in the right place with pcie cables on one end. then it should work on any miner that has pcie plugs , sorry i'm just a user that knows how things work etc with no skill of designing.the way it look it is very limited with break out boards.

that does look sweet thu if you find a break out board that fits it ill buy two .

it should be  a good quality  psu   that company makes a lot of server pcs

no just check I can't help

I am short 1 stick   if I send it.

All I could do is sell a full set.  which you can daisy chain to.

I don't think that works.

Avalon6  +  four pin wire  + adapter

did you try zoomhash or blockC

yan from block c may have one.

Do you need the stick or the four pin wire?

I do not have an extra  stick but I think I have an extra wire.

I will look in a minute.
30978  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BTCS Dumping SP35s for SP50s on: April 17, 2016, 10:11:33 PM
[Your quote layers have messed up]

it all started in a home
If you're referring to Bitmain, it did not.

they all seem to forget that some Aug every day joe made them all rich the least they can do is sell to us.
That's entitlement not reality. Just like you can't walk into an Apple store and demand a new MacBook Pro for half price because you bought an Apple PC in 1997.

bitmain offered me a price i go to buy it then they jacked it up
You are free to accept or decline any offer at any time just as you did - and that's fine. Its not fine to receive an offer, accept the offer then bitch about the person you accepted the offer from because things didn't work out like you thought it would.

some times some of your comments make me think you sold out or some one is paying you to say some of that stuff other wise your ok with me but when you start up taking up for the big guys trust me they don't need it and will leave you standing unless your being paid to say the stuff you do.
I am not on anyone's books. I have also never sold out nor altered or censored my opinion in any way, ever. If I had I'd be a hell of a lot richer that's for sure.

My point of defending these 'big corporations' is that no one is on their side and its always their fault for everything apparently. The continued rhetoric on here is often "fuck Bitmain / big companies / corporations / capitalism / China / foreigners" and not only is it tiring but bigoted and contrary to all logic.

Fuck bitmaintech they are yet to pay me for my under hashing batch 1 miner.
They never answered my emails or complaints.
They owe me 67 to 150 usd on that miner.

Now to be fair the batch then sent to me one month later hashes at 5100 vs 4600 rating and when clocked to freq 480 is gives me .24 watts to a gh on a seasonic platinum psu.

They also sold 2 dog batch 1 s-3s to me.

Btw I made really good money with it.

The point of me saying fuck them is they ignored me.

Now I went and purchased 16 more pieces from them and each time I asked for a 67 to 150 usd discount.

To make up for the shit batch 1 s7

Frankly I would forgive them since I made money for those sales of the 16 for clients.
But I do not forgive because I also purchased 1 more batch 1 for hosting by li in China

Those all under hashed and I did get a 65 or 67 dollar refund.

So if the sale is in China they fixed it but the sale to the USA they did not.

So fuck bitmaintech   Of course if they were to admit they fucked me and apoligze to me I am willing to accept an apology from them.

They won't.  So fuck them.

I never spoke badly about them until they disrespected me.

With a move that was pro Chinese and anti American .

They still could fix it but like I said they won't.
30979  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: My Rig keeps Dying (((HELP ME))) on: April 17, 2016, 05:52:31 PM
ok I will go in to more detail the one that works has been running for over a week with out dyeing,

the faulty one can some times stop working after a few minutes and then there's times when it wont go above 4ghs and it will beep at times even tho I'm sure the u3s don't have a speaker this is why I think it is faulty and will be looking for an exchange.

Yeah do that.

Then let us know how the replacement works.

Or do that and also get the only known piece of equipment in the world. That runs more then one u3 consistently well

The bitmaintech router with crazy guys updated patch.

First run the replacement with out the router see how it works.  Then run the two with crazy guys modded router.

Let's us know if you prefer the two with or with the router.

Based on the reports of twenty or more owners you will need to run with the router to get good results.

One question did you run it with just the bad one alone plugged into all the wires the good one uses.

If the bad one works then the issue is your epuipment can't run two of them.

So please swap out the good one and do not attach it.  Then put the bad one in run it and see what happens.
