If Mt.Gox hadn’t happened, where do you think BTC would be today?
Mt. Gox help the bitcoin community grow bigger. Exchanges become better in their security. Laws become stricter. I see Mt. Gox does it role very good for bitcoin. I am sorry for any people who lost money on Mt. Gox

Hacked Exchanges since 2011. There are many exchanges that were hacked since 2011.

Everything is possible if you can change your way, every member wants to get lot of merit in the same time to get a higher chance accepted in good campaign. But, before do that you can try in another way to bring something. When I just have 10 merit i think its hard for me to get 1000 merit, but it's wrong.
How long did you spend to crawl from 10 merit to 1133 merit? From which rank did you start?

Quote
Mostly I get merit from my post when I'm not joining in the campaign, focus to become an active member and join in several discussion and creating a thread. It will better for me to spent time to search a new topic when I don't think about posts count. I remember, Fillipone is one of member who also not using a signature before, he just doing about bringing some good content and educate member here. And see what happen now, he is become one of limited member who accepted in Chipmixer campaign. Good luck for you, and be your self, let merit come to you without asking/thinking  member giving you a merit.
It blows my mind!
This info changes my mind and I will try to erase my bone with merit in my mind. My mind should be free to have better brain when I type my post.

Bitcoin ATM for example is a machine that allows a person to purchase Bitcoin by using cash or debit card. Some Bitcoin ATMs offer bi-directional functionality enabling both the purchase of Bitcoin as well as the sale of Bitcoin for cash. These technology has made the use of bitcoin easier. There are numbers of challenge faced with the use of bitcoin especially in rural areas with poor network or when the individual doesn’t know how to operate the internet/Cryptocurrency sites . But providing a machine were one can just walk to and buy/sell bitcoin using physical cash or bank cards would be fun and more easier for such categories. The availability of bitcoin machine in all  areas will enable bitcoin users to do more transactions and attract many to key interest in the world of Cryptocurrency. I know of regions where you can’t find BTC machines and it’s will interest you that people living in that region appreciate bitcoin so much but are limited to do more because of the lack of bitcoin facilities.

A Bitcoin ATM (Automated Teller Machine) is a kiosk that allows a person to purchase Bitcoin by using cash or debit card. Some Bitcoin ATMs offer bi-directional functionality enabling both the purchase of Bitcoin as well as the sale of Bitcoin for cash. In some cases, Bitcoin ATM providers require users to have an existing account to transact on the machine.

Boom!!  It's always nice when a mod swoops into a thread like this and lays down the law.
Thanks mod. Plagiarism was punished.

OP, it looks like you reported that member's plagiarism in the "Report Plagiarism" thread, but did you hit the "report to moderator" button as well?  I don't know how often mods check that thread, and I would think that reporting an instance of plagiarism (or any other rule infraction) would be more efficiently handled if it were reported directly to the moderators.
I reported that user with Report to moderator. What happened after that makes me surprised. The topic was deleted.

I reported that another user: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1926895.msg55113679#msg55113679

3110  Other / Archival / Re: [GAS Price Aggregator] How to find the optimal gas price on: September 13, 2020, 09:00:06 AM
You can get the median gas price from blockchair.com (20.00 Gwei). From ETH Gas.watch, the suggest fee is 81 Gwei. Accept the gas price means accept fees at 4 times more expensive.

Hello guys do u think Perfect money is safe to store big amounts of money like 50000$ - 100000$ or not ?
what is the best and safe bank or wallet to store USD ?
I don't use Perfect money but I see the quick tour on their site: https://perfectmoney.com/?welcome=1

In the video, I see you won't have full control on your account, your money. I mean it is custodial wallet if consider it as a bitcoin wallet. Bitcoin is only one of payment methods in Perfect money account.

And you have do KYC (at least phone number when you register account).

I don't consider it as a good choice for long term storage and more reason to not use it for big money.

Can you classify those mobile wallets into Custodial and Non-custodial wallets, please.

If you actually use them, information on their default units can be helpful. Bitcoin table of units. When I saw the unit of mBTC I don't know what it is.

Electrum wallet can be use for mobile as a cold storage wallet. nc50lc made a guide to set up a mobile as a cold wallet.

Okay, here's the procedure to create a cold-storage mobile Electrum wallet:
  • 1. Install Electrum on both devices, and create a standard wallet on the "cold storage" device, that will be your main wallet that contains all the keys and shouldn't be connected to the internet even once (a newly formatted device/new device is better).
Make sure that the seed was saved in a physical backup like a piece of paper.
  • 2. Click the wallet's name on top of the screen and click "Master Public key" twice to open the QR code.
  • 3. On the online phone, create a new wallet using the option "Standard Wallet->Use a master key", then click the camera icon to scan the cold-storage wallet's QR code.
This will create a watch-only wallet version of your cold-storage wallet.
  • 4. Confirm if the address in the receive tab is the same.

Now to use those wallets:
  • You just have to create a transaction using the online watch-only wallet using the send tab.
  • Fill out the recipient, amount, etc. then, click pay (select if you want to opt-in RBF, yes) and click the QR code icon below.
  • In the cold-storage wallet, go to send tab and click the camera icon on the right side and scan the other device's QR code.
  • The transaction will be imported to the cold-storage wallet, now click option->sign (enter your pin) and it will be marked as "signed" above.
  • Click the QR code icon, then scan this using your online watch-only wallet and the signed transaction will be imported and now you can use options->broadcast button to send it to the network.

If you're not familiar with Electrum's defaut bitcoin denomination, you can change it from mBTC to BTC in the settings->denomination.

Mobile Phone Wallet for bitcoin could be one of the best devices for daily life basis spending bitcoin currency
On mobile, only very small part of your money should be stored on mobile, for daily or sudden spending. Your mobiles are easier to be lost (on streets, at company, at park, etc.). Your mobile can be broken by accidents, water etc. So I won't go all in to store my money on mobile.

Backup: seed, PIN code are the must to do. I only use Eletrum mobile and not use the other mobile wallets so I don't know but please read their user manuals to know how to back up your wallets.

Dust attacks are likely to occur more often, having shitcoins or coins with less value sent to you as it can happen to just anyone within the cryptosphere. The dangers of it is constituted in your trying to accumulate these series of shitcoins or low value coins to previously accumulated once hereby, creating a link or chain of wallets and possibly, there could be an unofficial flaw in your set-up which they capitalize on.
Dust Attack, what it is, why it is dangerous and how to prevent falling to it. Open Coin Control feature, learn to use it and do what Ognasty discussed can help.  Smiley

#1. Compound
Compound is one of the leading DeFi companies today. It is riding the ‘Yield Farming’ wave. Comp, the native token of Compound, was the first crypto token that sowed the seeds of today’s Yield Farming frenzy this year.

Its COMP token saw massive price gains soon after it was offered to the users of Compound. But there was price correction later on, and thus, it came down to current levels. Compound allows its users to earn interest on their crypto assets and also borrow assets by collateralizing their crypto holdings.

A user can immediately start earning interest on their crypto assets by contributing to the Compound’s liquidity pool. The interest rates fluctuate depending upon the supply and demand of respective cryptocurrencies. As of August 2nd, 2020, the crypto assets worth $782.3M are locked-in under Compound protocol. It is a substantial rise as on June 1st, 2020, this figure stood at $100 million.

Is it true? I can not my topic? Can you confirm that members are allowed the delete topics? I can only delete my posts.

Copy and paste, no source is plagiarism. Sometimes members can say  they forget to leave source. I can sympathize.

This one is different. Copy, paste, no source, and apply it to get merit. Began to post burst after get one merit. That member knows what he did.

Grayscale bought BTC for $ 690M in the last 100 days. It is an update for your topic on Grayscale and I am happy to give you the link. Grayscale investment activities can be used to predict market movements but those things can happen before article release time (days or weeks).

3120  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Define the (scam) DeFi. on: September 12, 2020, 08:39:30 AM
Sorry for your loss. Well, after YFI price broke btc price, most ppl began to invest in yield farm coin. Most of them HOPING, that this new coin price can -at least- reach YFI price. But hope is just hope, finally most investors fall into projects that don't have a clear roadmap. Always DYOR before investing for long term and only use money yu can afford to lose. Still i believe, that DEFI projects (and its development) will have good prospects in future.
Hoping or not. They have to look at total supply of the tokens they want to invest and hope its price will be high. The higher total supply, the lower price will be. With same total supply, the later born DeFi tokens will have lower price.

I have never participated in masternode programs or farming campaigns at the moment. masternode projects are considered MLM and most of them are scams, we cannot trust them.
Right now we have a farming trend and it's really risky. Do I remember the interest rate for 1 year for the pair of SUSHI / ETH in Uniswap up to over 2300% in 1 year. That is too absurd interest rates and it is possible that this farm trend will collapse faster than the MLM trend in 2017. so be careful when speculating on these types of projects.
It is not true to call masternode projects are MLM but I agree that most of them are scam projects. If you dig deep enough, you can see similarity between masternode projects and DeFi projects. The bad thing is DeFi projects look more attractive and more revolutionized technology for crypto world. People are more easily to accept scam DeFi.
