So what will happen to Bitstar holders? I have been holding my coins since the early days, is this new coin you talk about a separate coin or related to Bitstar? I dont get it.

Also, anyone call tell me how to compile the source code for Windows? I don't trust compiled .exe files.

https://github.com/bitstar/bitstar/blob/master/doc/readme-qt.rst

I have been following this guide, but the link here:

"Download the QT Windows SDK and install it. You don't need the Symbian stuff, just the desktop Qt."

http://qt.nokia.com/downloads/sdk-windows-cpp

It doesn't work.

I still have the wallet.dat file for this coin so I still have my coins, and would like to make the wallet work. I have heard some people have problems with syncing tho.. please help.

I was hopping to play at the claw machine which I love playing in real life, but unfortunately your site doesn't have demo credits. I think you should add demo credits to test the games for free. I started playing slot machine because I became addicted thanks to demo credits, then I started playing with some real Bitcoin.
3105  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to stay away from gambling? suggestions ? on: February 01, 2016, 04:00:58 PM
I'm pretty sure most people who gamble aren't addicts and even addicts aren't that crazy, only a few people get to that really super addicted point where they could even sell their house to gamble but those are special cases and if someone is willing to sell his house to gamble then he is an idiot, not just an addict.
i remember reading some stories about super heavy gambling addicts back in the 80's when las Vegas was crazy about casinos, some of those super addicts would sell their house going all-in to a single spin/roll and if they didn't win they would shot themselves in the head with a revolver. That's what a I call having a problem lol.
3106  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Ugliest gambling site? on: February 01, 2016, 03:52:44 PM
basically i do not too concerned with gambling site looks because as long i could win i will do not care if i played at the ugliest gambling site but if I may to choose i think 999dice is the ugliest gambling site

True, the best thing a gambling site can offer is a safe provably fair, good progressive wins, entertaining games and a lto of traffic so the jackpot keeps getting bigger, but is often overlooked the importance of aesthetics. It's really important that the site looks good because most people get tired of it if it's not eyecandy friendly, therefore investing in a professional graphics designed for your business is always a good idea.
3107  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 33 Indicators that Bitcoin Isn’t Slowing Down on: February 01, 2016, 03:48:42 PM
Infographics are a fantastic way to show newbies why being on Bitcoin is being on the winning team specially long term. I love this one which is a good way to discredit the FUDders that say how Bitcoin "is not growing"

This is great because most people are visual and learn things better if they are explained with nice pictures rather than a bunch of text.
3108  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who have right and which is the best? on: February 01, 2016, 03:36:26 PM
Even if the disaster happens and some other team that isn't Core manages to hard fork and split the blockchain therefore rendering the existance of "2 Bitcoins", the coins in blockchain A would be in blockchain B so you would never lose your money, your wallet would be the same on both blockchains, so even in this disaster scenario you wouldn't lose your coins.

Of course, the best outcome is that Core team will and the other amateurs that are trying to jeopardize the Core team end up like XT and the rest of altcoins.
3109  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Methods of growing your Bitcoin? on: February 01, 2016, 03:33:03 PM
invest your bitcoin in property, as far as i remember there is already a thread here that accepted bitcoin for property investment purpose, yeah bitcoin same like fiat can do anything that fiat did

How is he going to invest his Bitcoin in property if he's trying to get some Bitcoin in the first place? He doesn't want to buy with Bitcoin, he wants to make Bitcoin, if he had enough Bitcoin to buy a house, I think he would be pretty wealthy by now. Also have fun paying a ton of taxes in those properties.
3110  Economy / Gambling / Re: Any more Skill-based services like this? on: January 30, 2016, 07:26:43 PM
chopcoin for sure, I became so addicted to this lately. I missed on the whole agar.io craze, I played sometimes but never too much, now I have become addicted and even if it's just a clone, it's more exciting since you are at least making some BTC on the side while you are bored at the office when there are not many things to do, and at the end of the month there's not much to do so things like this are great to kill that extra hour Smiley
3111  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The "interblocknet" (a possible future of the service industry) on: January 30, 2016, 07:21:44 PM
I think I agree with you a bit in spreading risk a bit in terms of a failure of the main blockchain, but it's a very complicated thing, as noted by other poster, spreading hashing power means the tradeoff of the coin losing security, over the assumption that this loss of security is a positive tradeoff in case the blockchain fails (so you would have another one).

We would have to look at the realistic scenarios of the blockchain actually failing. If one fails, the other would fail too, unless it was different, for example one blockchain using SHA256 and the other using another algo... (so the blockchain failure would need to be algo-failure related because I can't think of any other scenario where a fatal failure would happen, and even thinking that the algo has some kind of backdoor as noted in other threads is very sci-fi to me) but right now I cant picture how this would be viable.
3112  Economy / Gambling / Re: Can Bitcoin bring back arcades? on: January 30, 2016, 05:33:46 PM
Not sure if this would be the best idea. Arcade games may be cool for the people that used to play with them in the past, but for the new generation they look dull.

The idea however, of using bitcoin for "arcade type games" is a good one though. No need for coins, just go to the game you want to play and swipe your phone and play!

Maybe there could even be an on blockchain ticket sytem, where instead of getting physical tickets for prizes, there are points awarded on the chain, which you can "sell" to get your prizes!

Well I think if kids are with their parents on the mall and they see the machines they are curious and want to play the games, in some malls there are still some arcade machines and I still see kids wanting to play when they see them, specially the machines that have not only joystick and buttons but have a driving wheel, or the moto racing ones.
Also a lot of adults like to play specially the moto ones which are really cool.

If Bitcoin can allow for cheaper prices I think it's a great business in the future.
3113  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: How to deal with 80 GB Blockchain? on: January 30, 2016, 05:29:52 PM
It's a pain in the ass to be honest. Maintaining it is not that hard work, but download it from scratch? That's a nightmare. I just hope that it never corrupts again. It sometimes has corrupted after upgrading the software. Honestly if it happens again I may give up and run pruned mode in 0.12. And to think there's people that want to make it grow twice as fast, what are they smoking? I think we need to wait a bit longer to raise it so the average user has better internet and hardware.
3114  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [SOLVED] understanding bitcoin core - one block every 10min? on: January 30, 2016, 05:17:41 PM
As franky explained it's not 1 transaction per minute (thank god lol).
For Bitcoin to scale globally, we need to run transactions outside of the blockchain, to make it more light weight so people can keep running nodes at home. If you make the blocksize too big this would kill Bitcoin decentralization and hence his value (what makes it distinctive from centralized payment processors).
I recommend that you study what lightning network is since it's the best way yet to scale bitcoin to worldwide levels.
Also support Core and not Classic, dont get fooled when you go on reddit and read a ton of bullshit.

Kinda off-topic but can anyone tell me whats s the current situation with the exchange and if there is a way to get your funds out? I had a BTC withdraw transaction pending and it got canceled, now the funds are still in my cryptsy wallet but im scared to try to withdraw again. Some people was saying some altcoins were working as a way to get your stuff out but im not sure about it now.

Where is our  kwukduck.Without him BtcTalk is not the same btctalk.Crash is suspended,,delayted
He was our best information source.kwukduck comeback

Kwukduck is online right now, probably looking around for some FUD new to construct his next thread-prediction which may or not be right.
This guy is obviously biased and he either has an agenda to spread FUD or is just having fun with his schtick-troll persona at this point.
3117  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Your favourite gambling game ? on: January 29, 2016, 03:01:18 PM
I want to get good at poker again. I used to play a lot years ago and I was getting really good at texas hold em and making some decent money, but it was exhausting, the amount of effort it takes is excruciating, but very rewarding, you can win a lot more money than playing another "gambling" game.
3118  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Best Sport To Gamble on: January 29, 2016, 02:46:18 PM
If someone wants to make some (in my opinion) easy money, I would look at the next heavyweight big bout which is the Tyson Fury vs Wlitchko brother II, the revenge. Im betting on Tyson Fury ending Wlitchko's brother but of course I could be wrong and the russian may come back again to regain his dominating position in the scene, but im conficent Tyson Fury will win and will make a lot of people very wealthy that night.
3119  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why is gambling so addicting? on: January 29, 2016, 02:39:48 PM
I think gambling is so addicted, because people play games and they like it.
When they play so that they can earn a little extra money. Everyone finds it fun to play with money. So why I think.

Gambling Involve instant money that is why many are getting hook into it and that is a fact even if they don't have much money they keep on gambling because of the urge in getting something and probably just enjoying their self for just satisfaction!

True. I got hooked at this one time where I cant really stop it. I just want to get back what I lose then I didnt even realized I am losing more than what I want to get back. Darn gambling really is unstoppable once your in it.

The best part of gambling is the risk itself, if you are not risking big amounts of money, it will never be as pleasant. Thats why if you try to play with fake credits it just doesn't cut it, you need to be exposed to risk to get that natural adrenaline high and this is exactly what can make some people severely addicted to it.
3120  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: April 8th 2016, a Bitcoin Conference is going to be held in Russia on: January 29, 2016, 02:30:00 PM
Fantastic news, but I still think that Russia will prevail on oef the most fundamentally flawed against Bitcoin because of their political views. I wonder if Putin will be ok with Vitalik Buterin shenanigans tho, since ETH is turning into a bankster alliance anyway, so I wonder if he will like this since Putin loves centralization a oppression.
