You should see the garbage the Russian government feeds its own people. Or more recently how they arrest people for holding a piece of paper with "*** *****" on it, or even a blank piece of paper. To frame it as some sort of protection from the evil West is disingenuous to say the least. It's propaganda, censorship (real one, not the "I got banned from Twitter therefore I'm a dissident now" bullshit), disinformation, repression, and all the other perks of an authoritarian regime.
Facebook changed or changing their hate policy or something like that. I can not remember the term. In my understanding, Facebook will allow you to spread hate speech against Russia. Do you really think this is something acceptable? Two wrong do not make a thing right.

Truth is West do not like Russia and Russia do not like West, they do everything in their power to demonstrate their hates towards each others.
3102  Other / Meta / Re: Why I love Bitcointalk! on: March 16, 2022, 06:32:23 AM
you can't ask a stupid person for an intelligent answer or reason
that's the reason why you don't explain this choice (stupid)
after all, stupid people also have their own usefulness, they remind us that evolution works (darwin)

Who cares where is your name putting by a troll. GazetaBitcoin was being sarcastic if I read him wrong otherwise. However I am wondering why is this troll is not in most of the user's ignore list. What's the point of wasting time for this Troll?
3103  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: March 13, 2022, 09:33:48 AM
Good thing at least in the end is that Man Utd won and gave me another 1.5 points. So far on 4.5 with 3 won predictions as most of the players have. Tommorow will be really intrested on west ham match and evertons match, this is where i think most points will be lost
I too have 4.5 from 3 wins. However I could do better if I would not chance my pick in Liverpool match from 0 - 2 to 0 - 3 and in Utd match I was very close. The 2nd equalizer from Tottenham lost my hope to get 3 points from that match.

Getting 3 points is pure luck to be honest.

Few matches we have today which are hard to predict. Chelsea should have win but remember Castle has not lost last 8 consecutive match. I would not wonder if Chelsea vs Castle ends up with a draw but it's hard to stick with a draw LOL

3:2 now and just 10 minutes to the end. Every time we start to doubt Ronaldo he comes back strong.
Man! I am glad that I witnessed the record and the beauty of Ronaldo. He was at the top in the match. The first long-range goal was a beauty. No one predicted that was coming.  The 2nd one had great effort and he did not hesitate to send it back of the net. This was a record breaker too. Josef Bican had 805 FIFA recognized goal. With this end goal Ronaldo just broke the record. And the third one was an incredible head which Ronaldo does every time with precise calculation.
3104  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Binance Stuck My withdrawal on: March 13, 2022, 09:27:31 AM
Man! just read the whole case. shasan used $80k as an example, not sure if that's what in question but it's a lot of money.

It's seems the mistake came from Binance end or something wrong with Dogecoin network. Why would a user will suffer for it. And CZ seems very good at his PR, donating million dollars everywhere. Is this how me is making his money and doing charity with others money.

I am too looking forward to learn the update. I hope your account got back to normal.
3105  Other / Meta / Re: @Theymos @Cyrus Please give me another chance ? [after 3 years] on: March 13, 2022, 09:15:52 AM
However, the OP has the right to claim its account back, regardless of how many years have passed and the reasons why it received the permaban. In addition, he agrees to all conditions, even the signature ban - which means that his primary goal is not to return to exploit the forum with signature campaigns.
I would agree with you here. Three years was enough for OP to build up another account (assuming he could successfully avoid ban evasion) and put some effort to make it a Legendary account. But instead OP has been waiting for 3 years and again pushing the unban for his main account.
3106  Other / Meta / Re: Let's change the perspective and stop plagiarism. on: March 13, 2022, 09:02:44 AM
The thing is, the whole Bitcointalk.org is a platform. Creative work is a theater. The stage is the threads of your Bitcointalk.org. Your desk or your workstation. Costume is your account, where you can think while looking at your work and experience and your post. And pop is your stuff, instrument, medium. The script is time.
Sounds like a poetry, are you one in real life 😉

I fail to understand the purpose of this thread,
It seems something against @lovesmayfamilis as the OP specifically mentioned
Quote
@lovesmayfamilis Sir, open the account of each of the plagiarism gula marks I have seen. You are well on your way to moving forward with your accounts. But I do not understand why you posted the copy. How you are ruining your beautiful accounts and getting frustrated. All you can do is move forward with small steps, then something good will happen. It will be better for you if you leave out this plaza ism completely. Always work with caution.

I do not think this is a Meta topic but this is a Reputation topic.

My guess is that one of those accounts in lovesmayfamilis' post is one of your alt-accounts that got banned
That's exactly what I had in mind. All the pain inside is because lovesmayfamilis ruined his account.
3107  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitcoin censorship for Russian addresses? on: March 13, 2022, 08:40:13 AM
If that's not the case, then you have much less things to worry, especially if:

  • You run your own full node.
  • You transact with people who behave alike.
I get it but what percentage of crypto user do you think is running a full node and trading P2P with their known network. I never found any study about it but I am assuming the number is so little that we may not find many. The vast majority even those of us who are with crypto for years, are using centralized exchange. Some even do not care to move their coins from a custodial wallet, trapped by the false security they provide.

Imagine crypto is available to everyone like the fiats are, only then we will be able to get the full benefit of crypto. We gonna need more educational projects which will eventually help people to understand why we need decentralized currency system over the centralized entities.
3108  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitcoin censorship for Russian addresses? on: March 12, 2022, 02:55:53 PM
Have you checked Bisq?
I will need to find some time to play around with this. I heard about these desktop apps but really never looked at them when learnt that the fees for trade are much higher than those centralized exchanged. But yes, I get it, every good thing has a price to pay. Thanks.

It is irrational to consider Russian some of the addresses that a Russian used to transact with, but it's as irrational as to behave Bitcoin as non-fungible.
Exactly. As soon as a single transaction has been made, the bitcoin in question could have moved to the ownership of someone else on the other side of the world. But exchanges will treat any addresses linked to a KYC account as belonging to that individual, whether or not they actually are.
Talking about "illicit activity". Imagine you are buying BTC in a P2P trade. You have no way to know (unless you go and do some extensive research with free or paid tools available. Even if you have I do not think none of us spend time of researching) the coins those are coming from a blacklisted address. This always worries me but still lucky that I did not fall for this trap yet.

3109  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: 1xbet || 1xbit Promoters list. Need help of the Community on: March 12, 2022, 02:16:45 PM
There are already many discussions about these scammers. The more you post their name, the higher their rank is moving so what's the point to have so many discussion about this scammers. I do not think creating new topics every time is helping people from getting rid of these scammers. If fact indirectly you are helping them.

PS: Do you really think you can do much in YouTube against these guys? How many users you think will open a new window and will report a video.
3110  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitcoin censorship for Russian addresses? on: March 12, 2022, 02:00:12 PM
The best solution remains to be to avoid centralized exchanges or any other service which takes custody of your coins.
With the current adoption of bitcoin and overall cryptocurrency, it is not much easy to avoid those centralized exchanges especially for those who are not much internet savvy and not with the crypto for some years, also do not understand the technology.

Couple opinions I have.
1. Have more p2p exchanges but here the problem is when the exchanges gets bigger they starts to comply kyc. If I am not wrong then with Localbitcoin we have experienced this. But still having more p2p exchanges give the bitcoin users and overall crypto users some space.
2. I am not sure if this is possible to create completely decentralized exchange like all those DEX on alt chains. If that could be done then we will enjoy full benefit of decentralization.

Quote
If a user completes KYC on a centralized exchange, then they can easily be identified as Russian or living in Russia by their uploaded documents.
Yes they can but if the Russian account holder send bitcoin (withdraw) to an address then the exchange can not tell that that address owned by the same Russia guy. I could get paid for a job that I did or for any service and the guy could pay me. But that does not make my address Russian owned. There are tools to trace back bitcoin but I do not think one can tell 100% that an address x is owned by a person y unless the address x is owned by a centralized service and they have KYCed the person.
3111  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: March 12, 2022, 01:49:37 PM
Some freak pissed me off, was in a good mood and while watch the match thought to browse the forum a bit.

Anyway, 0 - 2!!! Can we hope that the match is sealed by Liverpool?
Let's get those 3 points.
3112  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcointalk accounts - Ukraine on: March 12, 2022, 01:32:02 PM
I don't think they will disconnect the internet completely because everything runs based on internet so they may terminate it for temporarily for particular region but the probability of banning sites is possible and its already in practice by countries like China where there is no YouTube, Facebook, WhatsApp and all other popular social media but still people bypass it in lot of ways.
As far as I know Facebook is banned In Russia already. Someone from Russia once told me that they can not access Bitcointalk using clear net, it was long ago. Point is the West do like to spread bad things about Russia and Russia do the same for the West. So obviously Russian government don't want their people feed the garbage the west produce against them.

It's more of political war.
3113  Economy / Reputation / Re: [REVIEW] 3 Bitcointalk unsung heroes. on: March 11, 2022, 05:08:22 PM
I have checked your blacklist and it is empty (**). Meanwhile it is only you that is saying bad about JJG since I created this thread. Only you cannot be right and every other person's wrong. I wish you can retrace where the problem is and correct it.
You are wasting your time for a troll. You are a full member and earned 191 merits so far, account seems promising and you still do not know faketoshi bsv shiller. Most of the users have him in their ignore list. May be you give him a try too.

3114  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: [Mar 2022] Mempool empty! Use this opportunity to Consolidate your small inputs! on: March 11, 2022, 09:27:01 AM
Fees dropped again when the price dropped.
I think when price starts to increase then more people starts moving their coins. They buy bitcoin and send them to their wallets. Eventually the mempool started overloading by transactions and fees increases. Some also send their coins to exchanges to sell their coins. I have experienced it many times. When bitcoin price is stable or falling then you can send your coins using even 1 sat/b fees.

Just checked jochen-hoenicke.de and right now it's under 1 vMB for the next block.
3115  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Writing down seed phrase: printer ink or pen ink ? on: March 11, 2022, 09:20:40 AM
You can derive xpub2 from seed2, which you do have.
That I do not know how to do. Please drop a link about it to get some idea.

Quote
You only need the 2 xpubs from the seeds you don't have.
A bit confuse now. In a 3 - of - 5 wallet don't I need at least three cosigner and all 5 xpubs to restore the wallet. I have used 2-of-3 multi sig but did not try with 3-of-5 however my understanding is the algorithm should be similar for restoring an x-of-y wallet.

In this type of case, I mouse hover on the link and check the URL that shows in the bottom left corner of the screen. I do not know what does the area is called.
I think it's called status bar. The problem is that this feature is not available on mobile browsers. Personally, I never click on links directly. I either quote the message/post or copy the link address and paste it somewher to figure out if the visible link is indeed the address I'll be redirected to or just an anchor text.

I am using android and just realized that if you long hold the hyperlink text then if will show you the options and at the top it will also show you the url of the hyperlink. It's easy to figure out.

Problem is, with a know url you can figure out a scam link but if you are not familiar with the service and the url then it's hard to tell. The best practice is not to click and open any unknown URL. If you really need to check then have another device and try it from there instead of the device which has sensitive financial files or even information you are storing.
3117  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcointalk accounts - Ukraine on: March 11, 2022, 08:38:18 AM
Watched a news about disconnecting internet from rest of the world. How authentic it is?
If that happens then Russia will isolate them from rest of the world. So we will not see guys from Russia in the forum and the big Russian local will die soon? Fuck freedom of speech. It will be like North Korea.

By the way, do we have an account called Russia and other country names LOL
3118  Other / Meta / Re: The situation with Ukraine and the accounts that supported the war. on: March 11, 2022, 08:31:17 AM
His geopolitics in recent times has been mainly to convey to Western countries that Russia is not just our problem. Zelenskyi called for sanctions before the war. Europe has decided to wait until the tanks approach Kyiv. He called for disabling Russia's swift payments. Europe has once again decided to wait until a bunch of Russian oligarchs have time to withdraw money and take them and themselves securily abroad. Now he calls for closing the sky over Ukraine. The West is waiting again, probably when all the cities in Ukraine will be almost destroyed.
Why would West actually need Ukraine other than to use them to monitor Russia from close position? West do not want to involve in direct conflict with Russia. They do not care about Ukraine. They care about their interest. Once they will see it's not working then they will abandoned Ukraine, in fact this is what they are doing. Without the oil and gas from Russia EU, West will be in recession. Ukraine president never looked at the history or Afghanistan and others who once were supplied weapon by the West made them what they once were and then once West found out they could not get what they want they just abandoned them.

You could have big balls but like I said if you are not tactical then balls do not help you. History will use Ukraine when they will talk about balls and how to handle your opponent even if you have big balls 😉
3119  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: March 11, 2022, 08:21:53 AM
You survived and kept your 9th place haha. But i could have been the best in this round. That late goal by Chelsea killed my hopes of being first this week. But now i think im safe in 10th place overall and i think it will be extremely hard for someone below 10th place to go into the place that gives the prize. Now its just first 10 fighting for prizes that are bigger and lower. Hopefully i can be in top 3.
Don't take the green pill too early 😉
If I am not wrong then 4 to 5 rounds ago I was not even in to p 30. I think I was like in 32th position LOL. I could have a very good round in this one if I would have one more or two correct pick. I missed few from very close margin. It's freaking hard to get exact scores. Jayce got three exact score which made the difference for him.
