3101  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Lomachenko vs Commey - December 11 on: November 24, 2021, 06:13:07 PM
Lopez's only chance of avoiding a rematch is to move to a different weight class. If he does not do this, then sooner or later he will be forced to enter this fight or give up the belt. In addition, such avoidance of a strong opponent is always bad for a boxer's reputation, and should not be abused.

Canelo avoided GGG for a third fight for a very long period of time and feels rather comfortable. More than 3 years has passed and 2 point advantage does not look like a strong statement that Canelo is better than GGG. Canelo say that he is not interested in fighting someone he has already beat. Same could do Lopez. I am not sure that GGG really insisted on a third fight, but I also dont remember Lomachenko immediately asking for a rematch.

Maybe he feels comfortable, but nevertheless, you remember that he is not particularly eager to show his undeniable superiority (which he supposedly has) in the third fight. In addition, after all, this is a different situation - the boxers have already fought two fights and Golovkin had two chances to win, but he could not take advantage of them.

Canelo won their last fight by Majority Decision, though he prove that he is the better fighter between the two but you can't blame the fans of asking a trilogy because by far, that was the best fight of Canelo where he has an opponent that has a chance to beat him.
Yes, it's a majority decision but there was one judge who score the fight a draw 114-114. So it was really very close contest between the two, and we all know that the first fight was a draw. So by far, he maybe the winner of the fight between the two, but majority of the boxing fans still not convince that Canelo won  because of how the way it was scored so we want a trilogy which Canelo doesn't want to give GGG. So there's still a lot of questions on our mind.
3102  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: November 24, 2021, 05:07:16 PM
but I think the Warriors will sure win this.

I would go for the spread, -10.5 is not high to cover especially at home, with the Sixers playing the best team in the NBA now with an undermanned line up, I don't see a possibility that they'll be able to compete well, I see this as another blowout win by the Warriors.
True, Warriors is hot right now that it's hard to beat against them. And they are totally destroying their competition with huge margin win against a complete and healthy team. What's more if Sixers is without Joel and other key players.

So -10.5 could easily be covered by the Warriors and it's going to be fun watching Steph again or even Draymond's high basketball IQ. And I also expect Wiggins and Poole again to score many points in this game.
3103  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: November 24, 2021, 10:29:39 AM
My friend had bet big on Zverev. He watched every match of his and how consistently he was improving. There was no way I would have bet against Medvedev. Props to him for his amazing read.
It isn't that easy to read a player to this extend. Myself placed bet over Medvedev. In the previous match between Djokovic and Zverev, my bet was on Zverev. On the final match my bet was on Medvedev. In this entire tournament the performance from Medvedev and Zverev is really awesome and some are unexpected. Probably these two gonna rule the upcoming tennis tournaments.
then I am the one out of all who got it right, since I made a bet on Zverev to beat Djokovic live,  before the start of the third set, and I also made bet in the final on Sacha to win but unfortunately I lost in a parlay, I feel like I am starting to see how things are going  in Tennis, or it could be just pure luck  Sad

I have to say it was a really good final. Sure the first set was a bit tentative and tight from both players, especially Medvedev, but that second set was the best set of the tournament. It really shows how much that break of serve was important in the second set cause it cost Medvedev the match. In my eyes it was looking a lot like a repeat of last years final where Thiem failed to capitalize but this year it was different. Zverev was simply unstoppable. He wasn't about to let Medvedev find another gear, he didn't give him the time. And more importantly he raised his own level today. A great way to end the year. But this raises a question for Medvedev. A guy who rarely gets outplayed ever got outplayed two times in the last month. A guy who always looks like he has the answers couldn't find any in his last two finals. Could this be the peak for Medvedev? After all he won a slam. Mentally is he there to do it all over again? And if you think I'm crazy let's just remember where Thiem is now, after losing the final of this exact tournament last year. It isn't inconcievable that Medvedev needs a bit of a break. To mentally recharge himself. Hopefully his hunger and motivation is still there. It will be a really interesting 2022, that's all I'll say.

I believe you’re right that Zverev played way better than he plays, but the big question is will he play consistently like he did in such good form or will he fizzle out in 2022?.

Also it’s too early to say about Medvedev, and we can only make some conclusions after we see how he deals in pressure situations like these in 2022.
Both should remain consistent, at least that's how I see it based on their performance for this year. And it seems that Zverev has really improved a lot as well same with Medvedev but I think Zverev game really pop up this year specially in the last tournament we just had.

There's still a lot of tournament though, but I see no names, so I might skip betting on tennis games for now. And will wait for next year and hopefully we will have a good matches like this year.
3104  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: November 24, 2021, 09:30:32 AM
What do you think is the problem why the Lakers are struggling right now? The Coach maybe? or lack of chemistry or the fact that most of them are all star and they want to get the ball and just shoot Cheesy. Either way, I think that the Lakers should adjust right now or they will end up at the lower spot or worse they might not enter the playoffs.

Westbrook isn't the problem (like everyone is complaining about) having almost everyone in the team a superstar and a former one isn't also the issue. They could actually execute a good offensive plays and they can even score in every way they want. Their number one problem is, they are not actually playing some defense.
They can't even sustain a lead no matter how huge it is, because the higher the lead the more the Lakers became comfortable thus making their defense become more lazy.

If they can't figure out how they'll adjust and fix their system, theres no way they're going to the Finals let alone the conference semis.

On one hand, I think it is a mindset problem. On the other hand, you sometimes have people on the court that are “counter productive” especially when it comes to playing defense. This year it’s Deaundre Jordan as it was Gasol last year. These players put to much stress on the defense requiring players to have to hustle to hard trying to chase guys off the 3pt line and protect the paint. Westbrook can also be very counter productive when he’s constantly taking bad shots early in the play clock and turning the ball over with wild passes. I think they playing A.Reaves to much already but we don’t have much depth and Doumbouya definitely needs playing time. I also hate that we never got a true replacement PF/C to fill that roll that Markieff Morris would sometimes play
Hmm, but Gasol didn't play that much in the Lakers uniform last year so we can't compare his performance with DJ. And as far as DJ, I think he is doing good specially Dwight Howard. So the Lakers looks solid in the middle and they also have AD to play the center position if the other teams chooses to play small on them. Maybe the system itself is flawed and the Lakers need to adjust. So let's see once Lebron is back, hopefully they can start to put up a winning streak just to take things going for them.
3105  Other / Off-topic / Re: [Boxing] Canelo Alvarez vs. Ilunga Makabu on: November 23, 2021, 11:23:51 PM
And Canelo will be making another history for Mexican boxing here if he beat Makabu and take his cruserweight title.

Then he already signed his name in boxing hall of fame when he beat Kovalev and won light heavy WBO title (which, if not mistaken, he instantly resigned and made vacant lol).

I hope that Canelo will stay in cruiserweight, or drop to light heavy. Because there is nothing left for him to do in middleweight. He should made all this titles in middleweight vacant, get belts in more heavy division, and then get back to middleweight and beat everyone again.
LightHW might be a good weight class for Canelo to settle, and there is a good champion in Bivol, and I think Canelo can beat him as well.

So maybe after the CW campaign and he won the belt, maybe he will go down and chase and clean up the LightHW for good, similar to what he did in MW and super MW and then retire with only the Floyd lost on his career.
3106  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bad news for cryptocurrency enthusiasts in India on: November 23, 2021, 10:21:40 PM
I echo the sentiments that this news won't have a drastic effect on the price itself. India doesn't have the big influence, lets say China or the US. Besides though, since 2018, India has been putting tougher regulations against crypto so this is not new. And it's been a tough battle for crypto enthusiast around that country, but at least they are not going to give up the fight that easy. If this is bad news, the only affected ones are our crypto brothers in India and not the whole crypto sphere.
3107  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin run up is coming on: November 23, 2021, 09:50:26 PM
The market have got disturbed and now bitcoin has come around $56k. Along with bitcoin there is decline in the price of ethereum reaching around $4000. The critical resistance of the market seems to test the $50k by this weekend. More institutional investors will buy the dip as there is assured recovery of the market to reach new ATH over the falling year.
This might be a panic, causing most traders to dump if you look at the chart I believe it's a bear trap and testing $56k for the bottom is still bullish but once it dropped around $40k below I think it's time to think twice whether it's a bear trap or a complete bear market. We don't know if Bitcoin would continue to pump next year or it would create a mass selloff plus the correction then it's probably a bear market. But that's just too soon to think about and I think Bitcoin will have to gather some momentum before pumping again straight to $100k.
Hard to see a drop to $40k though, the last lowest low we've seen this year is $28k and so we've achieved x2 of that price already. It's not a bear trap to me, it looks like there is a big mental barrier in front of $60k that's why a few days ago when we reached $59k, it wasn't enough to sustain it's momentum to push and get past $60k. Of course which such volatile market, we really don't know where the price will move, but for me, we are still the bull market, just some minor and healthy correction around the way leading up to a good pump in December.
3108  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Casimero vs Butler ordered by WBO on: November 23, 2021, 09:16:26 PM
I'm checking for an update of the fight and try searching for the odds and I fould this.

Quote
WHAT WERE THE ODDS ON CASIMERO VS BUTLER?
Paul Butler is currently (+100) to win the bout outright, while you can get (+100) on John Riel Casimero if you fancy the incredible upset.
https://box.live/fights/casimero-vs-butler/

I'm not sure if the odds are reliable because AFAIK, Casimero is the champion and the better fighter, with +100 for Butler, then most likely the odds for Casimero is very attractive.
Casimero will be the favorite here for sure and it won't be very attractive odds for him ML wise. So it's really better to wait for other betting options and for sure our sports bookies are going to open a line about this fight.

Although that a highly anticipated fight in December, still if the fight are made outside of the US, there are fights that are going to watch and bet for this fight.
3109  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: betting online cockfight has become the new pandemic on: November 23, 2021, 03:29:01 PM
I think there is a bigger personality behind Atong Ang. I see him as just a pawn in this gambling network in the Philippines. Remember that his name has been crapping up even during the Estrada administration and up to know he is still on the (illegal) gambling business. So for me, there is a someone that is strong backing up Atong Ang so it is hard to stop this new pandemic in the pandemic in the Philippines even though Cayetano is trying to fight it out.

true. some of these bigger personalities ruled a huge region in the country and even the country itself like Joseph Estrada. Chavit Singson and Manny Pacquaio is known for sabong too. Cayetano is really not prepared for this bigger fight since he isn't backed and the would-be president Marcos is a good friend of Singson's.

the article is also saying the adoption of online wallets, does anyone think crypto will be adopted soon?
It's probably talking about Gcash and other online wallets because as far as I know you can deposit and withdraw thru Gcash now.

But yeah, I do agree, AA is just a pawn to this billion dollar online sabong that is taking the Philippines by storm and everyone is getting addicted and it needs to be stop. But I'm not sure if Cayetano can do it by himself alone.
3110  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: November 23, 2021, 02:58:23 PM
The Brooklyn Nets haw won their game today and that will make them gain the number one seed in the eastern conference right now without Uncle Drew. looks like everything is easy for them when they work together as a team with James Harden and the others.
Actually I was able to watch 3/4 of the match, unfortunately, I have to go to a lab to take some test.

But it was a very tough game for the Nets, they didn't cover the spread but enough for them to get a win. The Cavs was leading most of the way and I thought that they are going to pull an upset. But then again, the Nets have Durant, so they were able to come back take the lead and it was a back and forth game. I like James Johnson attitude in the game here, he only scored 9 points, but it was very crucial points.
3111  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin City Rising in El Salvador on: November 22, 2021, 04:54:41 AM
All eyes on Salvador right now. Things have escalated rather quickly in the country under the leadership of Nayib Bukele. Just a few years ago it was only just a small community who adopted Bitcoin and then it quickly went national with the declaration of Bitcoin as a legal tender. From then on, there were many things that happened. There was the Bitcoin mining development using volcanic energy, the purchasing of Bitcoin, and now the development of a Bitcoin City.

The success or failure of this big experiment will affect the decision of other countries.
Yeah, but it might take some time though before we can see the success or failure thereof.

El Salvador enter the bitcoin cryptosphere where we are in the current bull run. So it will be interesting on how the country will react if let's say we enter on a bearish trend for the next 3 years.

50%-60% the price is going down, how will they react, will they buy more? Is the critique of the government of Bukele coming out and condemn his decision about going full retard on BTC? We will see.
3112  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Nonito Donaire vs Reymart Gaballo (WBC bantamweight) on: November 22, 2021, 04:25:54 AM
Personally I do not see anything wrong with fighting another boxer from the same country, after all boxing is really popular at Philippines and before they could fight with opponents from other countries they had to fight their own countrymen, however the fact they are part of the same promotion agency is a problem but one that they will have to get over if both of those fighters want to become the best on their division.

Well either Donaire or Gaballo will win I'm sure there are still a pride that their countrymen will be proud off though as a Filipino I think it will be hard for them to choose which one they will going to support but if I am going to support to Donaire instead.

Donaire's last goal might be a rematch to Inoue before retiring. But he needs to finish the task first by beating Gaballo.
Correct, if he wanted to have a rematch wtih Inoue and have a good paycheck before he retires, he really need to win in fashion against the young and upcoming Gaballo.

I'm supporting both Donaire and Gaballo here but maybe it's time now for a younger generation to enter the big picture. If Donaire will lose in this match, he should retire now for good as Inoue won't show any interest in a rematch. If Gaballo, on the other hand, losses, he should take that loss as his inspiration and fuel to improve more.
But it's not going to be easy for Donaire, he is old and has been carrying the torch for PH fighters for many years now. Maybe it's time that a new and younger generation should be the face of PH in Gaballo. But we wil have to see if Reymart has what it takes to beat the veteran and more experience Nonito. Because based on Nonito's last fight, he still have that power to knock out anyone.
3113  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Terence Crawford vs Shawn Porter - Nov. 20 on: November 22, 2021, 03:31:01 AM
Next year would be the biggest fight for Crawford since he already beat everyone that will lead him no choice but to fight Spence. They need to make this fight happen as soon as possible without going for a complicated negotiation which will delay the fight for more years. Those fighters are getting old and their promoters need to consider that.

On the other hand, that was a nice try for Porter, it's just Crawford is on another level for him.
Exactly, there should no longer any hindrance to set up a fight with Spence. And now that he is a free agent, he can talk to Spence manager directly to make the fight happen next year. Hopefully though, there will be no issues like the split of the purse or something, this could be a 50-50 fight, both getting what they deserved.

Majority really did think that Crawford will be too much for Porter. Although we love Porter because of his fighting style, Crawford is just the better fighter.
3114  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: GGG vs Murata December 29 on: November 22, 2021, 02:16:38 AM
^^ I do agree, you can still be great even if you have losses in your resume, great example, the legendary Manny Pacquiao.

And this can be said on GGG as well, could be very well one of the best MW even if he has a lost against Canelo Alvarez (but it is debatable).

And if ever he won against Murata here, his legacy will be far above the rest of the current MW in the last 10-20 years.
3115  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: November 22, 2021, 01:52:33 AM
^^ It's over now, what a comeback win by the Lakers even without Lebron James.

AD and Westbrook and Carmelo really help them comeback from a 17 point lead if I'm not mistaken.

I thought that Detroit are going to take this win, specially after the brawl. Emotions running high that time in the 3rd quarter and Detroit was on a rampage.

However, the Lakers turn it around with a huge 37-17 advantage in the 4th quarter. And come up with a 5 point winning lead.
3116  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Lomachenko vs Commey - December 11 on: November 20, 2021, 05:36:01 AM
Odds seems to be in favour of the local guy, if you can call anyone local from NY. Vasyl, the Ucranian guy is a strong candidate and much harder in my view than others that have tried to get the title before, but beating a Japanese boxer is not really a credential is it? Richard Comey is at an advantage, at least psychological by playing in the US. And despite all that, still betting on Loma makes sense at current odds, as they seem to be too far on Richard's side.
Whether where Loma will fight, he will always be the favorite to win, and it's not new to him fighting in the US as majority of his fights happen in the US, we can check his full fight records here https://boxrec.com/en/proboxer/659771.

As per record, Commey has the experience and that is his only advantage as far as I can see, so I'm not surprised that Loma here is a heavy favorite.

Quote
Vasyl Lomachenko has opened as the -400 betting favorite against Richard Commey.
https://www.thesportsgeek.com/news/sportsbooks-install-vasyl-lomachenko-as-heavy-betting-favorite-against-richard-commey/
True, although Loma is not stateside, Arum was able to bring his talent to the US soil and boy we did witnessed one of the greatest amateur turn into professional and become of the boxing greats in recent time.

So there is no surprised that he is the heavy favorite here against Commey, although RC is also a former world champion, but the A-side of this fight is still Loma.
3117  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Nonito Donaire vs Reymart Gaballo (WBC bantamweight) on: November 19, 2021, 12:43:15 PM
Also I really want Donaire to win as I want him to fight Casimero or either Inoue.
He might win this fight but don't expect he will fight Casimero because they are on the same promotion. Inoue is most likely his next opponent because they fought before and it will be easy for Probellum to reach out Top Rank CEO Bob Arum to make this fight happen.
The Casimero fight is still possible though, but we don't want another Filipino fighting his countryman.

So it's better we see Donaire vs Inoue again. At least we will see Donaire be given another shot because he was really close the first time.

He broke Inoue's orbital bone in their first fight. Maybe Donaire will try a different approach in the rematch and not let Inoue off the hook this time. But still boils down whether Bob Arum wanted his cash cow to fight Donaire again.
3118  Economy / Speculation / Re: What if $70k was Bitcoin ATH for the year? on: November 19, 2021, 10:59:32 AM
Will you be satisfied if 2021  ends with an ATH of $70k for Bitcoin. Will it make you more richer or it wouldn't add any value to your intial capital.
Will you regret you joined the trend late or  would you be glad you bought when the  market did a retracement? Or you are still staring at Bitcoin with some sentiment

So what?

It doesn't matter at all for me as I am holding BTC for the long term.

I couldn't care less where BTC price is a day, a month, heck even a year from now. I am holding BTC purely as a hedge against an imminent fiat collapse, and in the case that crypto becomes the primary vehicle for people to store their wealth in.
Different folks, different strokes. I really admire though those who can really hold on their bitcoins for years and years and doesn't care or doesn't look at the chart because they've already have their goals.

But there are still a lot of newbies here, so haven't experience to hold their bitcoin, but instead do trades, shift it to altcoin and then go back to bitcoin again. Bitcoin has been tested by the pandemic already, so at least we've seen how it will be good to be store of value.
3119  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [BOXING] Logan Paul vs Mike Tyson on: November 19, 2021, 06:03:15 AM
In my opinion, if there are no legal consequences for fixing result in event of an exhibition match, why not to do that? If someone would like to earn a lot of money, in such a situation it would be best for him to bet on Logan and let him win.
Well let us hope there is not because people's choice as of now was in Mike Tyson and for sure, Paul Logan will become an underdog in this match. I don't know how it will work technically but I don't think if there is someone who can fix the game. If Logan Paul will be able to win, he is really bringing his name to this boxing industry and there is a serious match, not this exhibition fight. Let us hope that there is a good outcome to this exhibition fight and I saw even people are excited to see this match.

It's definitely a great thing that we can still watch Mike in action. We only speculate on whether the result of this fight can be predetermined or not? I hope Mike takes this fight as professional as he used to and we'll see a phenomenal show.
No, this is just an exhibition match so Mike shouldn't take this as professional fight. Besides, he has been out for many years in professional boxing, he is already 55, so this is just for a show to his fans.

Well on the Roy Jones fight, we saw that it is predetermined, so in this fight, this might be the case again. It could end up in draw for all we know.
3120  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: November 19, 2021, 05:34:07 AM
You can call it's a desperate move by the Lakers management to get all this veterans and put it on one time and then can't find the perfect fit to all of them.

Somewhat though, I remember the discussions about them in the pre-season games where the Lakers lost a lot of games and we say that it is not that important. But now it seems that we are seeing that even today, they are struggling to win and now that Lebron is out, it is far more evident that the veterans are not jelling as they supposed to.
I am rooting for their wise perspective about the game they love. All they need is time to figure out how they can use all their skills to make each other better. Then, they also need to at least afford the 8th seed or better 7th for just 1 game to win in the play-in tournament and take a spot for the playoffs. When that happens, we might see upsets that will break NBA records again.

Speaking of records, Nikola Jokic halftime record against 76ers 27 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists, and there is still another 24 minutes left to be played.
That's the stats of a star player who played 48 minutes already.
And he ended with 30 points, only 3 points scored in the next 24 minutes.

Obviously, they won't win if that is his stat in the second half. While the Sixers played solid the whole game even without their best man, Joel.

The Lakers case is unique though, they have a lot of superstars and yet they always struggle and having a hard time closing teams.
