3103  Economy / Speculation / Re: Please stop with the China hype on: May 12, 2013, 08:24:48 AM
unfortunately the average chinese annual family income is $25/ year. so each of them were only able to invest about 10 cents.

nope.jpg

that's the official income

here a hint. They still buy big stuff in gold, eg houses.
3104  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / The Slow transaction speed [confirms], solutions, discussion. Wide adoption on: May 12, 2013, 08:21:02 AM
I would really really like to use bitcoins every day, for every day purchases, and as a merchant. Many talk of wide adoption.

But transactions are SLOW.

[EDIT WDC 15 Second confirms!!! loss of safety I know but people love it]

What is the solution to this?

I can only really see a system that accepts an amount of risk, or you have to send bitcoins to a merchant and then they issue a value card.

but how to overcome the slow confirms, you can't just stand in line for that long, or is bitcoin going to be a reserve currency, for buying houses and such like?

over to your views/solutions

EDIT: one of the the current advantages of Fiat is that it exists in electronic and physical forms, which means it is used for small quick OTC purchases and big purchases like houses. This give people a feel for what they are spending, ultimate speed and keeps them every day in the Grip of Fiat. True there are less "cash transactions", however for wide scale adoption it maybe that bitcoin has to enter the physical, ala Cassius like coins, or something like it from trusted vendors

Stored value card systems like the Octo in HK may also point to an alternative.

3106  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: will LTC miners move to BTC now on: May 11, 2013, 11:25:14 AM
Now that the difficulty is set to 596.887 will LTC miners move to mining BTC?  Coinchoose reports that LTC is now a few points less profitable than BTC.

seigniorage, mining now may not be as profitable, but this does not mean you can't sell what you do get for a greater profit that you could mining BTC now.

So some miners will take the long view some wont. Further ASICS are comming and they will force GPU's out, so a scrypt coins will be mined by a large base

Also where had Coblee and LTC dev gone???
3107  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: >>>>Warning scam to get your password<<<<splat44>> on: May 11, 2013, 10:01:53 AM
The user's account was hacked and it seems splat used the same password on Bitcointalk and Rugatu. The hacker managed to steal him ~1.23btc and tame his reputation in both places, like sending phishing PM to Bitcointalk users or asking questions with phishing links on Rugatu.

MODS please revise his account and give him the opportunity to change his password in here, on Rugatu he already managed to recover his account.

Hi again paraipan,

I appreciate your support you gave me this past few day.

I just made further discovery on who actually banned me from bitcointalk:

After reading following:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=printpage;topic=197750.0

It's appear that John (John K.) one of moderators that actually issued the ban

Seeing you're member at bitcointalk, can you send me him a PM by including the following:

http://www.rugatu.com/questions/7406/news-on-bitcoin?page=2&focusedAnswerId=17731#17731

Perhaps, by including your previous reply, should at least cause that moderator to think twise!

Right now I can't even change my password there and if I should have been able to then my account has been compromized!

Thanks a millions

3113  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / What Makes an ALT valuable? on: May 10, 2013, 12:26:23 AM
I would say

-Community
-Dev (Team)
-Innovation

In that order. Why, we because from the community, new DEV's can arise, A DEV is better than no DEV, but may fade. That's why Community is more important. innovation is hit and miss, since the idea of CC's is there. PPC would be an example of where it is a Hit, and a Good dev and Community.

Also for this reason of all coins I think BBQ coin is the one to watch for the simple reason, it has officially died, and been resurrected. It has proved something that no other coin has done, and why, because of the Community. This is why Community is the most important feature of any coin.

3114  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The YACoin Superfun Premine Thread on: May 09, 2013, 11:34:41 PM
can we, as a community, create a coin that we all AGREE is fair terms?  like right from the get-go, a solution that works for all of us?
