Each bet has a value, which is the probability/odds that a certain event will occur.
Beyond the arbitrage that occurs on a bookmaker, regardless of the result of an event, they have always a profit... what system can be a system to calculate the value of a bet?
Are there any resources, forms, notes that make it possible to derive the value of each bet / odds?
(topic moderated to avoid spam and off topics)
Odds providers have their own statistical models like weather forecasting companies. Some sportsbooks allow to bet on weather forecasts although. You can try to beat their forecasts if you are able to find the "real odds" more accurately than them, but it would take a lot of time for a single man while they have teams of guys dedicated and paid to work on that all day long. And to make profits you will have to overcome the cut they are taking on odds in addition. So you will need to be more accurate than them by several percents in the long run. It's hardly sustainable IMO.

Now I know why op have posted this game because this game is from bk8 but he should edit his post and add a direct link to the game or he should mentioned the site where this game can be played because many are going to get curious.
Who said this game is only available in BK8? Your mom? JK, yeah I can list casinos that have this game, but it will be like a free marketing (and more free work from my side). As long as the casino support Spadegaming, the game should be exist there. Dude @AicecreaME @poldanmig stop using full quote. My finger hurts from too much scrolling. It wouldn't be totally "free" because people could be grateful for that and send you some merits. ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) This game seems to be very triggering, and I must confess I'm now eager to try it out but I don't play on bk8 and I don't want to open an account there just to try this game. So it would be great to know on which other casinos it is available. BTW what "med" stands for? Medium? You mean the RTP is medium for this kind of game?

Looks, good, fast registration, instatnt withdrawal without delays.
But as Saint-loup stated, they claim that all the games issued by them are provably fair, but they does not provide any means of verification, what is should be mandatory for the transparency ! Moreover they claim to have an "open-source code" but I haven't been able to find any link toward this code anywhere. ![Undecided](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/undecided.gif) Does anyone know where this open-source code is available please? Again I don't understand why a RNG is darkly used to draw the numbers, it defeats the purpose of being a real provably fair game. 8Bet’s provably fair model is based on the Bitcoin blockchain, and the entire process of drawing results is open and transparent, with open-source code that anyone can view and follow step by step to confirm that the results were entirely independent, random, and impossible to influence by any party.

I want to know who are the experts in the gambling subforum. Many of my posts are made in the threads for NFL, UFC and Boxing.
The experts of these sports are @DireWolfM14, @nutildah, @ChiBitCTy, @suchmoon, @morvillz7z and @Hueristic in the NFL.
What is this? I do not get to be added to the list of NLF experts? This is preposterous, this is outrageous, this is... South Park ended last on the Football Fantasy League in which they participated... Well, I kind of see your point ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) LOL Congrats again, Ekeler beat my ass at the end. I am sorry hehehe. I will add you to the list. You are certainly one of those people who was very helpful to me. I reckon another person that everyone should be listening to is tyKiwanuka. He is very up to date with his information and very intelligent in his replies in the NFL thread. He is also a very good Eurovision researcher hehehehe. There were also some people who have been suggested in this thread who appear to also be very informative and very intelligent. I will read their post history and might add some of them in the list. However, in other sports like cricket it would be hard for me because I do not know the sport hehe. I might need help on this. Yes I don't understand why you still haven't listed tyKiwanuka. He's one of the biggest expert in sport betting I know. He's certainly expert in almost all sports available on sportsbooks but from what I know he's mostly active in threads about soccer, cycling, NBA, NFL and Eurovision here. RHavar is the expert of provably fair gambling games, but buwaytress and Darkstar_ are missing in your list too IMO. It would be interesting to know the expert list of those guys BTW. Experts for tennis, NHL, MLB, Formula One and cricket are also missing in this list but I don't read threads about those sports very oftentimes unfortunately.

So those lotto are provably fair? ... 8Bet’s provably fair model is based on the Bitcoin blockchain, and the entire process of drawing results is open and transparent, with open-source code that anyone can view and follow step by step to confirm that the results were entirely independent, random, and impossible to influence by any party.
The 8Bet Lottery results are generated as follows:
1. At the start of the game (before any tickets are sold) a server seed is randomly generated by the server.
2. This server seed is then hashed using SHA256 and the seed hash is then published on the game for all to see. Because this hash is public from the start of the game, the original random server seed can not be modified in any way.
3. Players then buy tickets for the game until the time of the draw.
4. At the time of the draw, ticket buys are closed and the game waits for the next block to be mined on the Bitcoin blockchain. When this happens, the game takes the block hash from this next block.
5. The server seed and the block hash are then joined together and this concatenated server seed + block hash is hashed using SHA256. This hash is then used as the RNG seed for the random number generator.
6. The lottery results (6 lottery numbers) are then randomly generated by the well-known Mersenne Twister random number generator.
Using this method, anyone can follow the process through, even using their own code to confirm that the results were indeed fair. And use of the Bitcoin blockchain as part of the RNG seed ensures that not even those who have access to 8Bet source code or servers could influence the result in any way – a truly independent and fair result every time. Thank you but does anyone know how we could check that the winning numbers are the real ones generated by the RNG? It would be more provably fair to take directly those 6 numbers from the SHA256 hash. Everybody would be able to check it easily then.

Haven't logged-in since last week, will read through all the posts. Thanks for all the replies and advice.
I believe the site to be one of the largest and for sure reputable on this site. I've always wanted to place sports bets but it is illegal in my state. Almost every website recommended this site for US betters while using VPN. And in fact I logged in using different countries for almost two months, and they never gave me any issues, so I thought it was kind of a "look the other" way type of thing.
I did talk to customer service and they said there is absolutely nothing they can do until I submit KYC> They said no one has the ability to unlock my account except the security team, and they cannot talk directly with the customer.
I kind of made peace with the winnings stuck in there, and no plan at the moment to try and retrieve it via a mule.
I don't understand how it can be one of the most reputable crypto casinos here if they are doing shady things like that. Gambling there from a state restricted by their own TOS is not cheating, then they have no legitimacy to keep your funds. This is theft. They can exclude you for having breached their TOS but they mustn't keep your funds if they are honest. How did you get this phone number BTW? You are able to receive text messages on it?

I don't bet on sportsbooks so I don't understand much and it's better for me to play the games I've seen I play, even though the result is I often lose rather than win. I only just found out about the site you mentioned because I wasn't looking for more about snooker. I'm talking about the sportsbook you are advertising in your avatar and your signature, are odds interesting to bet on snooker there and especially on the events you've quoted above? You are necessarily aware of that since you post so many messages here and you are not a spammer, right?

I agree with Rikafip you shouldn't repeat that 3 or 4 times in a row in the beginners section IMO. "Hodling" is not the only right way to use Bitcoin, it's the only way to not use it actually. Moreover Bitcoin is a highly volatile asset, and therefore a highly risky one. Beginners should never hold Bitcoins acquired at the ATH. Seriously? But Michael Saylor, who has more than 100,000 bitcoins, disagrees with you. He calls his company buying bitcoin a low-risk strategy. We look at the historical chart of bitcoin. ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fd.radikal.ru%2Fd23%2F2202%2F7a%2Fbe30f14d3af1.png&t=663&c=vGoKv6-zT51xmA) Bitcoin has always been bullish, what risk are you talking about? Volatility in bitcoin matters only for speculators and traders, long-term investors do not pay attention to it. And what do you conclude from this? You think Bitcoin will continue to rise indefinitely toward the sky? You don't see a curve on your graph? How much did you earn in one year of holding precisely? Bitcoin was worth $52k one year ago, then you've lost USD actually and even russian rubles certainly. There is no free lunch in economy as Milton Friedman would say. But you don't need to repeat it, it won't become more true because of that ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif)

Well someone has to call out the bullshit you just wrote so newbies that are reading this board don't get the wrong impression about Bitcoin and early adopters. This obviously should be done not by people like you, provocateurs who are trying to expose the interlocutor in some bad way, attributing to him those words that he never said. ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) It was you who mentioned the 1-10 dollar range and last time BTC was in that range was probably 2011. If those are not the early times for Bitcoin and if they are not the OGs, then who is? You don't know the price history of bitcoin very well. The range that I named (1-10%) was with bitcoin until August 2012. And your story with pizza is actually 2010, when bitcoin was in its very infancy and many did not understand what to do with it, so we saw similar transactions, faucets that gave several bitcoins for solving captchas and so on. I think in 2012-2013, when the first major bitcoin exchanges appeared, people began to value bitcoin more. So if you don’t understand what I meant, it’s better not to go in with your value judgments and fantasies about it, whom I called there or did not call moron. Here is a bitcoin historical price service: https://bitcoin.zorinaq.com/price/Enlighten yourself.

As it has been told above, it's mainly caused by the discrepancy between the mining difficulty and the global hashrate of the network (the hashrate has managed to overcome the mining difficulty). But sometimes it could also be caused by the randomness. Miners iterate a nonce to find a hash shorter than the difficulty(ie with more zeros at the beginning of the hash) but this nonce can be small several times in a row. Moreover they can also iterate the nonce randomly, and being able to find the good one very quickly several times in a row thanks to their luck.

This story is hard to believe despite the rapper in the subject have the money to wager such a huge amount of money but I will only believe the story if Drake comes out and make the announcement by himself because this could be a promotion. No hard feelings but just saying my thought. However, if this story is true then it means Drake was a long term investor of Bitcoin
Regardless if he's truly betting his own asset or he's paid to do so, we in crypto space benefits from this. No matter if he's advertising Bitcoin or the betting platform, it could still catch people's attention about Bitcoin and cryptocurrency. From the look of it, it looks more of a promotion to the gambling platform than just flexing his bets. I'm not a Drake follower but If he's not posting his bets regularly then you know what this means. I mean he's a huge fan of the Toronto Raptors pretty sure he would put a bet more often in NBA if he really do. I disagree with you, the "crypto space" as you call it, doesn't need bad publicity, it needs positive one. Its image highly suffers from all the hacks and scams in the area. Then if big stars like him scam people by showing fake bets and fake winnings on crypto casinos, it will hurt the reputation of cryptos at the end.

Is this is paid publicity? I'm just curious, but regardless, I still like the fact that a celebrity is not afraid of risking huge money using a crypto sportsbook. Stake is already popular in the crypto space, but with this publicity, for sure they will be more popular, and it will not end there as the whole crypto gambling world will benefit from this kind of publicity.
I am also interested in this and especially wonder how much such PR costs. But most likely the details (if this is PR and not a regular bet) we will not know soon. I think that like all major bookmakers, Stake has a VIP program to attract celebrities and there are many different bonuses for such actions as "show your bet on social networks". Therefore, most likely this is a real bet, but he received some bonuses for his activity. That doesn't matter but as far as my own observation is concerned, it's a legit bet, and no such thing as paid publicity or partnership to promote the Stake platform. The Stake platform is now being more popular. Don't tell BS just because you are promoting them in your signature and your avatar bro, you won't get any bonus from them for that believe me, they reserve them for their "friends" if you haven't noticed it yet. You should better read the link posted by Hamphser above, then you will understand that's an obvious PR marketing operation https://www.gamblingnews.com/news/new-viral-video-confirms-drake-enjoys-playing-online-roulette/

I do rarely hear about Snooker games mentioned, if anything in gambling sections. Personally, to me, Snooker is not really all that exciting of a game. Its basically billiards with more unnecessarily complicated rules that most people don't really find all too attractive, since bringing something too complicated into a game which should have a simple foundation does take away a lot of the interest in the game.
Having said that, I prefer to stay with Billiards or "pool".
It's probably because the Snooker game is less popular, so people out there know more about billiards than Snooker. I'm also more familiar with billiards than Snooker but I'm not very good at playing billiards and want to learn billiards one day. But, after I did a quick search on Google, I found several tournaments for Snooker. You can visit this link: http://www.snooker.org/res/index.asp?template=211-14 Feb 2022 will be held in England for the Women's World Championship. And the next tournament with the title Welsh Open Qualifiers will take place on 15-20 Feb 2022 in England. That's great. So what are the best sportsbooks to bet on those events according to you? Did you find some sportsbooks offering good odds or uncommon odds for those matches? That is to say above the ones you can find on comparators (for the favorite or for the underdog). What about the sportsbook you are promoting for example? https://www.oddsportal.com/snooker/wales/welsh-open/

trying my luck...
Nice try @Woodie. But I don't think this is a valid entry ![Sad](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/sad.gif) for competition . Please note that, according rules posted by OP, it should be paint with "a simple image editor i.e. Paint" and not with a pencil in a paper as I can see from image posted... Did you archive it please? Because he seems to have changed his entry, currently it's not an entry realized on a sheet of paper with a pencil from what I can see. What’s the issue about editing your post? He might realized that he made a mistake about his hand drawing entry and now edit his previous post with the correct entry. I can’t see anything wrong here? The rules also didn’t restrict users from editing their post? Anyway, 2 more days keep the art coming guys this is just a simple art contest everyone can have the chance to win. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) Who said there is an issue with that except you? Read more carefully please. Someone claimed he had submitted an entry drawn with a pencil but I wasn't able to see that in the entry, then I ask him if he had archived an eventual previous entry. It would be less confusing if the new entry had been clearly signaled.
