4500 rpm (two fans) were producing incredible noise at >=72dB.
I wonder how 6k rpm fan sounds like?

Noise    64 dB(A)
http://www.digikey.com/product-detail/en/delta-electronics/QFR1212GHE-SP01/603-1165-ND/1850534

So we're thinking this 6000 rpm fan is quieter than two 4500 rpm fans?

the unit will be loud maybe lower then the two 4500 ones but loud

Downclock from freq 700 to freq 625  will most likely prove the best way to use this miner.

I may order one just to see if I am correct.

buysolar is running my batch 1  which struggles to do 4200gh at freq 525 has error rate of 0.3000 or so  a garbagr machine.

my batch 2 is at my friends office  rated at freq 575 and 4660gh  it can do 5100gh at 1250watts with a platinum psu.

error rate at 0.0005 or less.

truly a great machine if everyone had an s-7 like this one people would still like bitmantech.

Good to see you in the alt section phillip  Smiley

You should be able to under volt that 7970 a bit through and get much better efficiency if you are not already, altho your power is low right now so its not that big a issue for a few months.  I have 2 7950's and I run them at .98 volts they get 18 mh at that rate and run nice and cool stuffed into my pc case.

I have an open test platform from back in the day.

I have a huge air cooler  my gpu runs under 50c and quiet I will photo.

All this gear made 100% plus more back with ltc.

I forgot how to unlock this for volts been a while
31168  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: New one fan S7 on: April 06, 2016, 05:17:12 PM
by removing plaque which replaces the fan.
the holes may be below.
Let 's hope it is the same case.

looks like they just replaced the back plate of the unit which had the screw mounts for the fan with the new grating as it is using the same mounting holes as the previous backing plate (right in the corners)

Then adding the Sanyo ace that I supplied for the last avalon6 group buy should fix the issue.

Hello,

I am not sure what this all about is and if it costs btc to enter.

My guess is +3.3

it is a free contest and you are now in it.

you need the diff to finish from +3.30 to +3.39 % to win 0.1 btc

next time you enter please use this format:

+3.6 = Fruitsbasket

I can just drag  it into place and not have to spell your forum name name
Okay I will do that next time, sorry for that.
Does it mean that I win when it is between +3.6~3.7 ?
no   it means either i fucked up   due to you lack of putting the first guess in the correct format or you quickly altered from 3.3 to 3.6

so lets start over.

do you want 3.3   which gives you 3.30 to 3.39

or do you want 3.6  which gives you 3.60 to 3.69

most likely it is my error due to the incorrect format

so please let me know

+3.3=Fruitsbasket

+3.6=Fruitsbasket

i will fix it.

Okay I dusted off a hd7970 rig

Has a special cooler runs quiet.

So a hd7970 = a r280

so what does this earn in a day?

and power is not an issue.  as If it earns 5 bucks a day I will run it in the solar array.

so lets call power free.

Welcome, about time you joined the gang.

7970 Right now is 0.33 ETH so about $3.50 and will use around 200 watts.

Depending on brand and what clock rates you choose you should expect anywhere from 19-22MH/s

With a 7970 (17mhs) & a 380 4gig (19mhs)=36mhs,I'm getting about .40+ or - per day on Supernova  Cool

Wow that's pretty low. I get about 0.32 per 280x which is 21mh. I am using ethermine.

finally got it running on nanopool with ethermine  doing 21mh for 6 hours .

may run it for the summer in house. at 17 cents  a kwatt (summer rates) >   I know dumb but I like something in house.

setup cost = 0

For now power = 9.7 cents  so I can run in house.
31172  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: How much power will an S7 use per month in kWh? on: April 06, 2016, 11:08:46 AM
Let me acknowledge about power comsumption of S7 : 1200 WATT / efficiency of PSU

not really the newer ones are more like 1300  watts dc/ efficiency of PSU = 1430 ac at wall

https://www.bitmaintech.com/productDetail.htm?pid=000201603310959482268cfunbq106E5

S7 Specifications:

1. Hash Rate: 4.73 TH/s ±5%

2. Power Consumption: 1293W + 10% (at the wall, with APW3, 93% efficiency, 25C ambient temp)

3. Power Efficiency: 0.25 J/GH + 10% (at the wall, with APW3, 93% efficiency, 25°C ambient temp)

4. Rated Voltage: 11.60 ~13.00V

5. Chip quantity per unit: 135x BM1385

6. Dimensions: 301mm(L)*123mm(W)*155mm(H)

7. Cooling: 1x 12038 fan

8. Operating Temperature: 0 °C to 40 °C

9. Network Connection: Ethernet

10. Default Frequency: 700M

31174  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: New one fan S7 on: April 06, 2016, 11:00:20 AM

@ mtmining2

try fan speeds  65 to 70% was top speed on batch 1 to batch 15

so

clock the gear to freq  500 fans to 70%   check temps under 65 c    fan rpms  about 5500 and errors less then 0.0100
clock the gear to freq  525 fans to 70%  check temps  under 65 c    fan rpms  about 5500 and errors less then 0.0100

see how high you can go with freq and keep temps under 65 c
see what you need to get  fan to do 5500 rpm  as this new delta rates 6000 rpm

buying this to think you will certainly do freq 700 is foolish

adding a second fan looks like  a project but possible.

@ generalt    finally tested the 2 gpus will send a pm

Won't you lose significant hashing power by dropping the frequency to 500. Thus reducing bitcoin profit?

Yes but finding safe numbers to not burn the miner is more important
Just buy a 120mm Noctua fan and put it on the miner. Save a lot of time and you won't have to deal with the freq and such. Or buy a cheap 120mm industrial pwm if you don't care about noise.I dunno if there's a place for a fan on this miner, but I doubt Bitmain would make a new chassis just for these batches.

wrong no place to screw it in = fact

you will need to figure a way out on how to attach it.
