3121  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 01, 2014, 01:27:41 AM

Fear...

BTC went from $10 to $260 ..  that is huge.

Then it went to $50.. that is huge..

Then back to $140.. that is huge..

And then people got scared and just fear took over..

Fair enough.  But fear by whom exactly, and why so late?  I doubt it was fear from new buyers who came in near the March/April run-up: they did not yet have much to lose.  So it was fear from people sitting on large gains thinking it could all vanish and they had better diversify, just in case, correct?  But why did it happen so much after the March/April growth spurt?  And are we likely to see this play out again?
Mtgox was having major liquidity issues and was facing major lawsuits at a time when it was the only major  exchange. This fear triggered the final phase of repressed  capitulation to occur. You may notice low volume. This is because most of the buying occurred off-exchange by hedge funds.

OPs numbers are wrong. The latest projection by the rocket fueled turbobulls is $80,000,000. Confirmed.
3123  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: BTC-e being hacked. Watch your account. on: February 01, 2014, 01:16:07 AM
It sounds like your password got stolen, not neccesarily btce itself hacked.

This is one department I'll admit that hodlors have a clear advantage.

Isn't stolen and hacked the same thing?
I suppose their related. What I'm trying to say is that the password was probably obtained via one of your own devices and not via a security breach of btce itself and their servers.

3125  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin "insecure" investment - media. on: February 01, 2014, 01:06:53 AM
Tell them if they want a secure investment, they better go to their bank and open up a CD for 1% interest or whatever.

* Media loses confidence in established Bitcoin leaders, turns to the Wall Observer thread trollbox for reliable market analysis.

I just noticed bfx too and was suprised. It's hungrier than stamp. Last time I checked bfx just a few days ago there were only 4K on the bid and 1K on the ask. Now it is 10K on the bid and 5K on the ask.

3128  Economy / Speculation / Re: China's manipulation on: January 31, 2014, 12:02:12 PM
I think the people manipulating the market are exchange operators - not the Chinese government. The only thing China did was have PBOC release two statements - no other action was taken. The statements were then interpreted and translated by various third parties and exchange operators acted on those statements by disabling (and later reenabling) withdrawal methods. Suddenly one day Lee decides to change his interpretation of the PBOC statement - that is his own action and nobody else's. So it's really exchange operators and bitcoiners playing this game. The Chinese government has done nothing. We can speculate that Lee has some contact within the Chinese government that's told him that bank transfer is now safe. However more likely that's not true and this seems more of a desperate act to sucker more money out of a sinking business while he still can before more strict regulation and enforcement actions are passed.

btcchina drops bank deposits again.

Someone says they have cracked EC.

Someone claims someone has exploited the 'vulnerability' mentioned in the other thread.

Updates on FBI coin dumping.

A bunch of coins move or 'days destroyed' on the blockchain.

Someone else is arrested.

News from the hearing about excessive regulation which will discourage small business or consumer usage of bitcoin.

It dropped due to Q4 financials. Go to Google Finance. This isn't rocket science.
3134  Economy / Speculation / Re: Goat's speculation thread (currently HODL) on: January 31, 2014, 06:43:28 AM
Could you please post a flow diagram and a detailed chart with TA and lines detailing exactly how to execute the hodl strategy?
3135  Economy / Speculation / Re: Massive buy order only on Bitstamp. on: January 31, 2014, 03:13:38 AM

LOL Tera is that you I saw 'confirming' in the BTC-E chat box? lmao to see the word of proudhon spread accross the BTC world.
I must fulfill my destiny to spread proudhon's trolling into the trollbox - this is confirmed by authentic foreign sources in a legend in a chinese scroll.
3136  Economy / Speculation / Re: Massive buy order only on Bitstamp. on: January 31, 2014, 02:49:15 AM
Woah its getting too deep in here. These are just stop loss and trigger orders with bitfinex or bots. There was a 6000btc dump just the other day too.
eh wot!?
What kind of Stop-Loss buys in 3000 BTC causing a market spike to non-maintainable highs?
It's not neccessarily from one person but from multiple people. Trigger orders once they hit their target will execute at market price regardless of what that price is. This may drive the price up on its own or may set up a chain reaction where additional higher trigger orders are triggered.

More evidence of how BT China volume could be mostly fake and seriously some of you guys take this fake volume. Someone already confirmed it is fake and due to a couple small bots playing market taker - the volume is since completely gone again.
3139  Economy / Speculation / Re: We might not see cheap Coins anytime soon thanks to BTC China on: January 31, 2014, 01:08:04 AM
I'm waiting for the corollary thread titled "we might see some REALLY cheap coins when...".  Its possible the Chinese government wasn't really aware of Huobi but will open their eyes when they see BTCChina starting back up and take harsh action on both.
