Right now, If I were to solo mine Bitcoin with a hash rate of 200 GH/s what are my chances of generating a block? Or how long would it take me to find a block?
Its like playing lotteries, there are possibilities to win the jackpot (or to find a block) but are very low. 200 ghs is very low hash for bitcoin mining. not really, it's not like the lottery, this is only true if the diff keep increasing, if the diff stay the same forever(just putting it on an ideal scenario) then it's not the same thing becausee you know that one day you will find a block at 100%, for example a miner that do 0.01 a day, mean that it need as average 2500 days to find a block the reason why this is not really true is because of the diff that don't remain the same It is absolutely like a lottery. With 200 GH/s today you have a 1 in 6,120,183 chance of solving every block, so 1 in 42,501 chance of solving a block each day. Like a lottery, your odds don't improve based on past performance. Even if it's been 2500 day (and pretending the difficulty is the same) you have no better chance of solving a block that day than you did on the first day. Just like after playing the lottery for 50 years you don't have any better odds of winning than you do when you buy your first ticket. If the net income you can expect to generate with 200 GH/s is not worthwhile enough for you but you want to continue participating in mining, go ahead and solo mine. You could hit a block, although likelihood is you won't. i found one PPC block with 141 gh in compac sticks

check with ken/yan see if they can match. who knows they might match you have certainly helped sell plenty of miners for them that may not have ever been bought.
yeah I and tired tonight going to stop typing before I write something dumb. the game can wear me out. sometimes.

Would you be able to make f-m-f combiner cable
I have some really good 15 awg 3 ft cables hooked into an Avalon 6 miner.
While the Avalon end seems decent the psu ends get hot.
I have some 20 jack break out boards for 2880 psu
So I need eight jacks to run two Avalon 6 miners
I rather use 16 jacks not 8
I can definitely have this produced at a price similar to the M-F-M cables listed on the first page, but theres pretty low demand for them (the 16awg cables are pretty reliable to 300W+) and it would need to be a custom order >100pcs, and with a 3-4 week delivery time. The next best thing would maybe then be to use 8pcs of these: " 6" Y-SPLITTERS " and 8pcs of these: " 24" PCIe-to-PCIe " yeah sidehack made some for me. and if you have the 2880/2980 breakout board you will need them if you choose to run avalon 6's

fucking bitmaintech is giving away 100 usd coupons on the s-7 I am not sure what to do. I also have 36 coupons for s-7's 4 s-7's for 1.25 coins each = cheap

wow.. strategic timing I must say on their part.
let us know what the plan is or if the Avalon group buy turns into an s7 group buy.
Maybe run it by ken/yan see if they can in anyway match even if its only for this group buy. would rather give them my btc then those other people.
plus avalons seem to be block busters for kano. lol
what is the lead time on the current available units from bitmain? weeks? or same day like Avalon?
let me see promised times for bitmain. 5 days from payment ANTMINER S7 BATCH 15 - Shipped out within 5 days BUY ANTMINER S7 BATCH 15 - Shipped out within 5 days AntMiner S7 BATCH 15 with 4.73th/s is available to order. Shipping out within 5 working days after full payment. ahh I have been really busy with holidays and I have a lot to still do. I can not see the sense in the avalon 6 when the s-7 is about 1.25 btc and the avalon 6 is about 1.45 btc. I think holy scott was selling some avalon 6's at a one count. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1257327.msg14314794#msg14314794his deal is not quite as good but I can't see doing this group buy avalon 6 is 612 to 640 vs 500 with the s-7. I need to sleep on this anyone looking to post ideas please do.

looks like another batch coming soon..
Dear Customer,
As a token of appreciation for being our valued customer, Bitmain would like to issue you a special $100 discount coupon towards the purchase of a new Antminer S7. All customers who purchased an S5 in 2015 or an S7 (if we get payment by 15:00, March 25 of Beijing time)are eligible for this promotion.
To take advantage of this limited time offer, simply log in to your Bitmain store account and go to the My Account page. On this page you can view any coupons that have been added to your account. If you’re eligible for the promotion, the coupon will be automatically deposited -- no further action is required to get this offer.
Don’t wait to take advantage of this special deal. Stock is limited and the coupon will expire in a few weeks.
As always, Bitmain values your loyalty and we look forward to building lasting relationships with all of our customers. This coupon is one way we can say thank you for making what we do possible.
All the best,
Bitmain
I see the coupons, S7 is only $482 after $100 off. Time to buy? Ask yourself... why are they dumping these so cheaply now? What do they have waiting in the wings? Dollars to donuts they are clearing out inventory and will launch a new miner very soon. yes so if your power bills are low these are a bargin.

I have more then 5 pm with an offer. 100 off the batch 15 s-7. just look what 4 of them let you buy 4 s-7's for

okay I like these units but just now I have been sent 36 100 dollar bitmain tech coupons for s-7's I can get 4 s-7s shipped to my house in NJ for 2000 usd. this gives me a problem the s-7 underclocked to 3800 gh is pretty much as good as the avalon 6 in terms of noise levels which if I get a good one maxes near 3800 gh. So 500 for an s-7 or 600 for an avalon 6 I am thinking I may be forced to not do this group buy. I am thinking that buying this s-7 and downclock to 3800 is better then getting the avalon 6's I am not sure what to do. I also have 36 coupons for s-7's

so this being my first group buy using btc. how does the payment part work? come Monday you say pay me X btc and then we send that? used to paying in $ so sending/paying money early didn't matter.
I try to hold the coins as little as possible. So I will say please send at btc addy xxx around 9 pm Sunday to about 3 pm Monday est Then send all coins in 1 send to block_c btc addy. It lowers the risk of a large btc price shift. if you go to my profile you will see this address. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=64507Avalon6 Group Buy - 1BHKKrAh5oTacQnmjfACXjE9cGyFRR8rVD So you want one unit and you are in Los Angles that is going to be 600 + 12 I would send a pm to you and say 612 usd is 1.45440010 please send that to the group buy address make sure to use all numbers as the 0010 on the end helps me track your payment you would send that amount to the addy above make sure to go to my profile above and realize it is my profile and matches the address. you sent the btc. tell me the transaction id. i make sure it is for the exact amount 1.45440010 every one else pays in say 10 units come to 14.65000114 btc. I do a full send of the coin to block_c I send block_c all shipping info. Lets say 5 go to me for east coast shipping and 5 are drop shipped by block_c for west coast shipping and central usa shipping. This makes it easy for yan from block_c to do his job and people get to do small 1 or 2 unit orders. or 3 or 4 or 5 or more. I used to test every unit at first but then I realized I should just test over seas ones since usa sales can get replacement gear pretty easy. But if they are going to Montreal, Finland or U.K. knowing I sent a working unit is helpful. right now I did about 50 units in 3 sales all the units were good but a wire or 2 was bad. the four pin ones have a 4 % fail rate so far 2 bad and 50 good

I just had some Easter bread with baked in eggs for supper. Was too lazy to make the omelette .
Still think the baked eggs should work for something.
And I guess they did as we are now on page 667!

I will sit out this round but I'd like to get at least 1 more Avalon 6, probably next round if Philip will do another group buy.
By the way, I figured out why my a6 was having problems, it was my old corsair rm1000 PSU, as soon as I replaced it with two server psu's, it stabilized and it's hashing at 3950 ghs. So, make sure you have a good power supply at least 1200 Watts, set your A6 at freq 500 and fan minimum 40, as suggested by philipma and others. Do not exceed voltage over 12.3, or your a6 will burn up. I had one of my Bitmain S7 go up in flames, it couldn't handle 12.8 volts, so it's normal for these miners to burn up if you overvolt it.
yeah these miners can be touchy

... I just told him to look at the trend and rent ... when a pool is on a hot streak ...
No idea why that advice would be considered any good. Future blocks have nothing to do with past blocks. 100 block segments thats is my mantra

Yeah... I'm still debating, too. Unfortunately all of my coin is tied up right now, so my only recourse is to purchase some. I have a $1000 instant buy limit on coinbase so that rules out getting 2 more. Maybe I'll just go with 1... hmmm... decisions decisions don't worry just tossed 50 th here for a bit I hit a block on kano.is I will hit one here today and I will hit one on mmpool today A true triple block friday the simple reason is I am having turkey for easter sunday and all of us that go bowling know a turkey is a triple strike
