3141  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Mistertango.com - Lithuania - IBAN bank account EUR - Bitcoin friendly on: June 04, 2017, 07:44:18 PM
Why don't you just use a bitcoin visa card instead of going with a bank
Bitcoin debit cards can be quite costly, for several reasons.

They're not free most of the time, some have monthly recurring fees, BTC/FIAT rates are sometimes purposefully skewed at the cost of the user (see my post about how Wirex/E-Coin abuses fake rates), ΑΤΜ withdrawal are big, limits are sometimes low and most importantly customer service is sometimes bad (Wirex is a great example).

Anyone familiar with their free ATM withdrawal service? The info in the website says that there's a free withdrawal each month for up to 200€. Does this reset on the first of each month?

Yes - reset on the first day of each month
Thanks!
3142  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Alt Coins - where does their value come from? on: June 04, 2017, 07:31:05 PM
Bitcoin and simular coins for payments, I understand.

But for other coins, I can see the why the technology is useful, but how do the coins/tokens benefit of this?
For example Ripple, I see the value of the technology, so assuming all banks at some stage will use them. How is XRP benefitting of this?

Another example Golem, understand the technology of a global super computer. But how will the GNT benefit of global usage? Am sure I am missing something, thanks a lot for helping me out!
Speculation is the leading cause of the price rise in altcoins. Even coins like Ethereum haven't proved themselves yet but the crypto economy moves around speculation rampantly.
3143  Bitcoin / Armory / Re: Bitcoin not arriving in one of my wallets on: June 04, 2017, 07:23:44 PM
Do you have to use armory for your transaction? You could import your private key to a wallet that doesn't require syncing the blockchain to complete the transaction. Multibit would be an option.
3144  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Marycoin is bitcoin only cheaper! on: June 04, 2017, 07:11:05 PM
Every coin that's tried to do that has failed miserably. If this one has any success due to the current bull market I'm sure it'll be extremely short lived and won't go anywhere.
3145  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Bitcoin mining should be profitable now on: June 04, 2017, 06:56:59 PM
Bitcoin mining should be profitable now as

Bitcoin fees are much higher now

Example :
If I am going to buy 10 Gh/s from Hashflare = $1.2 + 0.002 trx fee
but return is not worth to invest

bitcoin mining profitability doesn't depend on bitcoin fees only
miners do get a share of the fees when they find a block(depending on a pool, too)but the main contributor to profitability is
the current bitcoin price and difficulty, electricity cost and equipment cost
buying small amount of hashpower, especially on a scale of Gh is wasting  time and money-you will not be able to withdraw as
the mined amounts will be below withdrawal threshold
also, when you are investing into cloud mining,be ready to get scammed or never ever achieve ROI on your investment

The price of bitcoin really is the most important factor to profitability. If prices go down, no matter how much more fees increase, there isn't going to be much of an impact on profitability. While the cost of miners doesn't go up with price hikes, their profitability and potential to ROI is affected greatly.
3146  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: MAJOR WARNING - ALL COINS on: June 04, 2017, 03:42:17 PM
Altcoins did ride on bitcoin's boom to come where they are today, as traders converted cash from bitcoin's price rise to multiply their profits with altcoins. It wouldn't be too unlikely to see major price falls for alts when the rally ends but I don't think that'd be the case with bitcoin.
3147  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Goldsmugglers - Anyone playing this game? on: June 04, 2017, 02:45:45 PM
Last time I stumbled upon such games it was through some sketchy ads on gambling websites. This one is relatively new, domain registered on 2016-09-19, probably has been running for a much shorter time period. Could very well be a ponzi.
3148  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Annoying trading moments? on: June 04, 2017, 02:03:48 PM
I think that he most damaging trend for most traders are bull traps and bubbles. Many people could lose considerable amounts of money if bitcoin prices were to fall sharply once again.
3149  Economy / Exchanges / Re: List of bitcoin debit cards on: June 04, 2017, 11:48:56 AM
Does anyone know which companies the following BIN belongs too..

531169

Ideally, one that can create multiple cards without verification.
It's the Gibraltar based bank Wave Crest Holding's Mastercard BIN. You can use bindb.com for such searches. Many bitcoin debit card issuers use the same bank's services for debit card issuance.

Thank you for that.

I have done a BIN check and can't seem to find which companies use it.

I only know that advcash use it, but looking for other companies.
Many companies use the same bank for their debit card service. I don't have a list of them all but it might even be the majority of the debit card services. Uquid too, and some of Coinsbank'horės cards as well.

It will be better to add a comparison chart of all the Bitcoin-based debit cards in the front page of this thread. I want to know which debit card is the most affordable one for me. I am not a heavy user. Even if I get a debit card, I am going to use it no more than 2-3 times per month, mostly to withdraw fiat cash from the ATMs.
This'd be better off as a project outside of bitcointalk but I don't have much time atm.
3150  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Augmented Reality android games using Blockchain technology on: June 04, 2017, 04:34:24 AM
VR headsets alone don't come close to being realistic at the time. The home user won't be able to feel virtual reality in realistic environments for a few years ahead. It's a developing technology and VR headset were released in a rush. By the time computational power has gone smaller and cheaper current tech would quickly go obsolete. Augmented reality is something harder and likely wouldn't be too successful with bitcoin on android. Blockchain tech isn't Pokemon go you know...

3152  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Buy ETH + LTC via credit card on: June 02, 2017, 09:10:49 PM
Cex.io has ETH and does accept credit cards but the thing is that their ID verification takes ages. From this point onward though, it's a decently fast service. Too bad they removed litecoin pairs before its boom.
3153  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: what is the fairest bitcoin betting game you know? on: June 02, 2017, 09:05:16 PM
Peerbet used to have a no house edge user vs user provable game, not sure if that's still there after all the changes the website has gone through but it sure was nice. The downside was that in order to bet you'd either have to create a raffle or match someone else's.
3154  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: so what happened to MegaUpload 2.0 and its revolution! on: June 02, 2017, 09:41:48 AM
Kim Dotcom have a reputation, he can't simply run with funds. The release was postponed but but the development is still active. He already shared a video about it a couple of months ago: https://twitter.com/KimDotcom/status/848731692638453761
We are still unsure about how is he planning to use Bitcache/Bitcoin on Megaupload but It definitely looks promising and the crowd-sale went just fine on BnkOfFuture

Then he did a crowdfunding like campaign for his Megaupload 2.0?

I hope it doesn't end as Star Citizen, or even worse, as No Man's Sky

The project wasn't funded more then It should be and that's definitely a good thing, they reached the minimum goal and they could work from that: https://bnktothefuture.com/pitches/megaupload-2-bitcache

mega.nz is already the most innovative file host. Utilizing encryption very well for the benefit of its users at its fullest potential. I don't see why you have to make a connection between the service and BTC, its creator is known to be kinda crazy so don't pay too much attention.

He is no longer affiliated with them. (Mega.nz) and that's why he is creating Bitcache and Megaupload 2.0
I'm aware of Kim Dotcom's new project that's in the works but what I'm trying to say is that mega.nz has already gone mainstram and any new cloud storage services counting on cryptography are unlikely to compete IMO, so an impact on the price is far from reality.

3156  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Digibyte is projected to 1$ on: June 02, 2017, 08:41:17 AM
This is the most rampant speculation I've seen lately. DigiByte is projected for a great correction IMO. When altcoins with a previously small market cap in USD but a large supply of coins have a large price rise all of a sudden due to small volume increased the only way for their price to go is down in the following.
3157  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Most innovative altcoin gambling website? on: June 02, 2017, 08:32:25 AM
Crypto-games just got a new game.
"We added 7th game - Plinko!"

Well, seeing dice games pup up all over I'm after something unique.
That's very interesting, it's nice to see multiple games and a variety of choice in one platform. Although plinko isn't that new of a game.
3158  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Most innovative altcoin gambling website? on: June 01, 2017, 07:41:12 PM
How about asking for a secure and reputable one first? "Innovation"?! Lol.
Well, seeing dice games pup up all over I'm after something unique. I think that cryptocollider is number one in uniqueness but also does well in security. I'd be interested to find if there are any contestants topping this game in uniqueness because I'm having a hard time seeing something better in that regard.
3159  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Most innovative altcoin gambling website? on: May 31, 2017, 10:17:51 PM
I think this one should go to https://cryptocollider.com, it really is a unique website. Pay them a visit with a flash enabled browser and you'll see what I mean. What is the most innovative gambling/game website that accepts altcoins in your opinion.
3160  Economy / Speculation / Re: China is dumping, prepare for crash. on: May 28, 2017, 08:13:48 PM
It wouldn't be too unlikely for china to be having a major impact on the recent events behind the crash that stopped the price from rallying but lets not forget how the spread between Bitfinex and exchangew tih no withdrawal issues pushed prices up at the begining of the rally. There's no indication that this was organic from the beginning.
