3141  Economy / Economics / Re: Paypal Banned Greece! on: July 03, 2015, 06:36:51 PM
According to a PayPal spokesman:

"Due to the recent decisions of the Greek authorities on capital controls, funding of PayPal wallet from Greek bank accounts, as well as cross-border transactions, funded by any cards or bank accounts are currently not available. We aim to continue serving our valued customers in Greece in full, as we have for over a decade."

http://qz.com/444188/paypal-no-longer-works-in-greece-and-why-that-matters/

In another words:

Those who already have money in their paypal accounts can use it but those who want to deposit money can not do it.

This will certainly be a positive development for Bitcoin. Overall, the situation in Greece could turn out to be very good for Bitcoin Holders. This could deeply impact the price before the Bitcoin  halving early next year!
Let's just wait and see what happens.
3142  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Bitcoin Mining on: July 03, 2015, 02:05:46 PM
That equipment would be great if you wanted to use it for stacking coins. For direct mining, you would simply be wasting time and energy, and it wouldn't be profitable not even if you were mining alternative coins.
So, if you are thinking of using ARM Cortex-A7 dual-core, 1GHz, Mali400MP2 GPU for mining just forget it.

Don't waste time and buy some stacking coins such as Hyperstake, Hyper, VRC, etc... and then you can use your device to stake them. I'm sure that would be more profitable!
3143  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [ANN] Spells of Genesis - Innovating Trading Card Games with the Blockchain on: July 03, 2015, 12:41:47 PM
I have folded some BitCrystals and some FD cards!
Currently, I'm only able to trade them through the XCP Counterparty platform. will there be other places where we will be able to trade them or we will only be able to trade them through the XCP platform?
3144  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: --Hashnet Main Thread - Decentralized Pure Bitcoin Cloud Mining-- on: July 03, 2015, 12:04:08 PM
It seems to me that you business model is pretty centralized! Much the same as the other cloud mining services...
Care to explain how is your cloud mining service decentralized?

Hi Blawpaw,

Unlike other mining providers, where you can purchase a mining contract that either expires or becomes invaluable we sell our GH/s on an exchange. After the initial mining power offering, the price will completely depend on supply and demand, we will have no control over that. Also users have the opportunity to sell mine power whenever they want easily on the marketplace, again without our intervention, since they are selling their GH/s to another customer.

I hope this helps.

Have a nice day,

Hashnet

Well, It is still a nice idea and a good business. However, you shouldn't promote it as a decentralized cloud mining service, which in fact it isn't!

Nevertheless, I think you have a good business there, and I wish you best of luck!

I'm all for DACs as well, but unfortunately we haven't seen much of those working out!
As for decentralized exchanges I have found a new project that might interest you. I suggest you take a look at this thread:

3147  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Coin Wars - The Cryptocurrency Webgame on: July 02, 2015, 06:43:13 PM
greetings and congratulations!

You have a nice game there. However, it would be interesting to see the game generating some real winnings for the players!
Have you considered turning it into some kind of faucet? How about trying to catch some investors?

Shouldn't BTX be traded on Cryptsy, BitTrex or Poloniex???
Has the Team ever tried to get it traded on these popular exchanges? I mean, if BTXwas traded on these exchnages wouldn't it be good for the coin?

Yes; and that is what is really needed next. There just isn't enough exposure and volume on one small exchange.

Yes, that should definitely be the next step. I can contribute to the project, I am not a Dev, but have some expertise in Media and Communication. Fill me Up if you need my help

Is this really a good service?
Can I trust this?
The service is very expensive and probably not worth it! I'm from Portugal, is there anyone here who has been using BIT-X in Portugal?

3153  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 5 Chinese mining pools propose 8MB block size on: June 30, 2015, 06:23:41 PM
Gavincoin's idea of doubling every 2 years is not a good one.

if they cannot propose another better idea, then we need to accept that, i mena we can't wait forever until someone come up with an idea, now i'm starting to believe that this problem should have solved much early, with the fork of 2013

thus you don't need today to fork again and at that time, chinese were not controlling 60% of the network, and playing the dictator's game...

You can accept it, I will not.

I don't have an issue with BTC costing $5-10 to send and using something like Bitshares to buy coffee with and Bitcoin to store wealth.

I do have an issue, though. Why should I need to change currency just to be able to buy coffee? It's just not worth the effort.

Same reason people use to have copper AND gold.

I believe that people will own a handful of currencies in the near future.  The altcoins have been completely underestimated.

The same reason people have a savings account and checkings.

A visa and a line of credit.

I believe that in the future, and especially because of the Internet Of Things, we will see a handful of crypto currencies.
We will probably see one for each industry or business. The fact is that digital currencies have enabled the use of micropayments and that will certainly make a difference in the future!

When the bitcoin is adopted by several states/governments, they will mine it to make sure there is no 51% attack. It is in their interest.

On the contrary my friend! I firmly believe, If Bitcoin is going to be adopted by governments/states, they will surely try to control over 51% of the Network or they are going to create their own currency!
The most probable outcome would be governments replacing the national paper currency to a new digital currency version...

Did you change, edit or remove it at any point?

Yes I guess I edited it a few times! Wont my posts count?

do I need to start all over again?

Probably. Why did you edit it? It needs to be exactly as given to you in the op otherwise the bot wont find it and think you've removed it so you probably lost those posts because of it. Just try re-sign up again or get in contact with bitmixer to see if they can sort it.

ok! I guess I re-edited and probably that was the problem!
But for now I see its working. However, I believe I've lost some of my posts Sad

Thanks anyway Wink

Now, my signature seems to be deactivated and I don't understand why!

Can you please explain me what's going on?

Thanx!

To Buy Bitcoin I recommend you to take a look on coinmap.org and there you can find a Bitcoin ATM in your vicinities, or you can look for someone on Localbitcoins.

To trade, you better look for the exchanges with the biggest volume trading, since you will need liquidity to trade!

Houbi and Bitstamp are two of the best options when it comes to BTC\USD trading in volume!
