$7.25 by the end of the day.

This is it, the long slide back to $4-5.

We are all pawns in the big money player's hands.

Jump on and ride, the question is...when do you get off and when do you get on?

I personally wouldn't get in anywhere above $4/BTC
3143  Economy / Speculation / Re: 8/25/11 Speculation Thread on: August 25, 2011, 06:36:36 PM
9.50$ USD/BTC

Oh the humanity!  When will it end!?

(Not soon.)

Gold is down, equities are stabilizing.

Bitcoin is heading south for the winter.  I predict $9.50 by the end of the day.

Nice volume at Mtgox.  Good to see bitcoin actually being used for something.

1. Make giant post and website about incredible bitcoin con.
2. Buy shit tons of cheap bitcoin.
3. Hype about the bitcoin con pushes prices up.
4. Sell all your bitcoin on Friday when the hype peaks.
5. Spend everyone else's money partying and getting plastered all weekend in NYC.
6. Swede steals your laptop.

OP was so clueless. It's falling down without any resistance :/

OP post was several hours ago, not right now.

Yeah.  This is the only bit of press I've seen so far:

I cashed out and am sitting at 80:20 USD:BTC.

Personal forecast is a push to 9-10USD/BTC in the next 48-72hr until we at least get some press from this conference.  Buy back target for me is about 7-8$ USD, although I feel the actual bitcoin price should be closer to 5-6$ USD.  But bitcoins are what bitcoins cost.
3153  Economy / Speculation / Re: 8/22/11 Speculation Thread on: August 22, 2011, 03:04:54 PM
Why is this person only placing bid orders below the current bitcoin price, why is this person not actually buying any bitcoins? This has been going on since the price hit into the mid single digits.

The HFT bot is king.

But, it doesn't matter.  I think by 3-5 EST today something fun will happen.  Someone is eventually going to have to sell off a few thousand.
3154  Economy / Speculation / Re: North Korean Bitcoin analysis with Kim Jong-il - Part 1: The August 23rd crash on: August 22, 2011, 03:00:26 PM
Well, someone buy or sell a bajillion BTC and do something, it's boring as hell right now out there.
3155  Economy / Speculation / Re: North Korean Bitcoin analysis with Kim Jong-il - Part 1: The August 23rd crash on: August 22, 2011, 02:38:07 PM
Perhaps it is being horded so that it may cause a giant crash on Mtgox, push the price down to $7 and then to $4 over inconfidence, buy it all up again at that price, increase valuation.

But, um, I don't know it doesn't seem to be a very likely or intelligent plan.  Even if you push it to $7, tons of people may start buying then and mess up the whole plan.  Bitcoin is too volatile to really know what's going on from one moment to the next.  I buy when the price looks low and sell when it looks high.

Even all the money mined today can not breach the $11 wall.
3156  Economy / Speculation / 8/22/11 Speculation Thread on: August 22, 2011, 02:34:39 PM
Lots of buyers of bitcoin, not a lot of sellers.

Big, insurmountable 11$ wall on Mtgox similar to Saturday's 12$ wall.

3157  Economy / Speculation / Re: North Korean Bitcoin analysis with Kim Jong-il - Part 1: The August 23rd crash on: August 22, 2011, 02:30:05 PM
There are too many buyers for bitcoin for it right now to crash...  to get to $9 we need 800,000$ of BTC sold on Mtgox, but only 300,000$ bought to get to 13.

BTC is in short supply for some reason.

Just hold on until I finish mining the first 10,000 blocks of tacocoin.  It has a revolutionary static difficulty of 1 for the first 10,000 blocks and 500 million for the remaining 200 blocks.  Since it has such a high difficulty and such a low supply, tacocoin will be worth millions each in a few days!  ECONOMICS

I'm so jealous.  Seems like a kick ass time for people who are really into Bitcoin right now, fucking wish I could be there Sad

true, I'm sorry I couldn't make it out to New York for the first one but I hope to attend future ones.   I could definitely make it to one if it were in Austin, TX.  I think a  bitcoin conference in Austin would do well, if google trends is to be trusted.

Or Moscow.  кричать!
