3141  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Bitamp Bitcoin Web Wallet - Send & Receive Bitcoin Instantly! on: March 20, 2021, 05:27:18 AM
Thanks for the feedback, we do agree bech32 should be default but newbie users might then not realize they need legacy for some services (shocking but true many old services still can't support bech32).
Your comment makes sense and I guess it is one of reasons the Bitamp team decide to display Legacy address type as the first, default one in the list of three types of wallets.

Can you consider to create a warning or reminder about Segwit address at this step. Then newbies will pay more attention to it, and might have more consideration to use Segwit address.

3143  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What will current ETH miners mine after ETH goes full POS? on: March 19, 2021, 05:16:33 AM
I speculate that Ethereum miners will continue to mine the old chain after the fork to ETH 2.0 which would cause another issue in the cryptospace.
Why do you think so? Do you mean that the miner communities will try to fork ETH instead of choosing ETC to mine. It can be a problem in a few first weeks but long term if ETH 2.0 brings success to fee reductions on the network, no one will care about that miner-community fork. That coin will end as another Ethereum Classic.

It is not a big deal if look at Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Bitcoin SV, not many miners choose to mine Cash or SV and they stay with Bitcoin. Hypes don't last for long time in mining or trading communities. Hashrates fall, price fall for Cash and SV after first several months.

3146  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Invested in alt in 2017 ..and now need help to dont do same mistake on: March 18, 2021, 02:29:42 AM
the 2018, 2019, 2020 dump of the altcoins should have already given you more than enough experience no never invest in any of the altcoins for long term. they are always going to get dumped sooner or later even if their pumping lasts for some time like it did back in 2017.

if you want long term investment you should always stick to bitcoin and nothing else.
It is how the DeFi hype will end in the future. People who are in greed with DeFi hype will end their games with demise.

Bitcoin is the best choice for long term investment and I use two main gates to store my capital: bitcoin and fiats. I guess that some people will argue that why I choose fiats, not stable coins. I think that fiats are safer than stable coins. I can not know how stable coins will end with government responses and regulations in the future. Fiats and stable coins are all inflated and stable coins are not better than fiats. They are more convenient to use, to bring around but not safer than fiats.

3148  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What will current ETH miners mine after ETH goes full POS? on: March 18, 2021, 02:14:33 AM
Where do you think all this ETH hash power is going and why? And more importantly, what does that do to the prices of those coins?

I think that this is something we should talk about considering that ETH hashpower is ATH and we are most likely at the end of transition phase soon.
Ethereum source code is used to create many shit altcoins. They self call their coins as forks from Ethereum. In fact they are not any valuable or reasonable forks from Ethereum. Their teams copied and used the source code from ETH to steal money from investors.

Those shit coins use the same algorithm as of Ethereum. Miners will switch from Ethereum to those shit coins.
https://whattomine.com/calculators
Type the ethash (algorithm of ETH) into the search box. You will get a grid list of shit coins to mine.
3149  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How do we know if a Altcoin has been Pre-Mined? on: March 17, 2021, 02:13:07 AM
Read their ANN thread, coin specifications or in white paper.

If they hide those information as they plan to do shady price manipulations, you can check explorer to investigate. Check the genesis block #0, #1 to find out premined coins.

Check the coin movements from big addresses from the start of one blockchain. Those addresses are owned by developers or internal teams or early investors. They have internal news and any big movements from them can give you signals for future price movements on the market.
3150  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How long do you think this altcoin bubble will last? on: March 17, 2021, 02:01:15 AM
how long will this bubble last? I'm trying to get in long term but this is messing up my ability to get in at a good price.
Altcoin market won't top up if bitcoin market has yet topped up. Take it into consideration and answer the question that whether the top of bitcoin was reached? If you think bitcoin makes its top in this bull run, altcoin market will touch their top soon. After the top, the bubble will be burst.

In my opinion, both markets have yet topped up and they will rise more. Altcoin market will top up after the bitcoin market.

Altcoins have their year now but the index is only warmed: https://www.blockchaincenter.net/altcoin-season-index/

The ApeSwap team need to contact coinmarketcap.com to submit details for the project.

The community tab currently shows two links for Twitter and Medium. It should have link to ApeSwap's ANN thread in the forum: url=https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5319867.0. I hope the team will be quick to submit this info to coinmarketcap and hope they will response fastly to that request.

Furthermore, how about the same request for https://apeswap.finance/. No link to the forum thread.
3152  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETH transaction fee! on: March 16, 2021, 02:46:54 AM
I use another alternative for gas tracking: https://www.gasnow.org/

I like Gas Now because it gives more information with the table for Average GasPrice in different hours and in different calendar days. At the bottom to the table, the scroll bar allows you to check that the gas price you want to use is good or bad in recent days, and in which hours it more regularly to be confirmed.
3153  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: how much will ripple be worth in 5 years? on: March 15, 2021, 01:27:57 AM
This coin is full with speculators to the next news. As far as i know that if the value of ripple caused by the pump from the its company and no more. I bought the ripple coin at the bottom price but the result from the current case will determine the future of ripple. that's why so many people spreading fake rumour about ripple to keep its FOMO.
So many exchange sites delisted this coin and holders must defend its volume
Ripple is the coin for news, speculation, policies and law regulations. You can not be safe with Ripple if you buy, hold it and forget it for years. Your portfolio and its balance might be fallen to the figure that you won't imagine. The coin has some good rallies as dead cat bounces but it won't happen too regularly. You must know of the very high number of investors whom were unfortunately stucked in Ripple and still wait for its return to the all time high 4 years ago.

In addition, delist from big exchanges is another trouble for Ripple. Real delisting news and drama around can put the price falling down much more.
3154  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Forked XMR coins: Are they worth it? on: March 15, 2021, 01:18:25 AM
I'm wondering if its worth claiming these forks for "free money"? Some of the XMR-based forks stopped trading on the market, while others have a very low price. Any advice, suggestions, or recommendations will be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Smiley
If consider that fork claims will expose your 25 mnemonic seed, it will cause some risks if you don't move your Monero to other wallets. It does not consider about the really low value of some Monero forks as you was said. If want to claim forks, move your Monero to a new wallet, and make sure your Monero coins won't be lost from any claim.

Claim forks and store them in non custodial wallets then wait for luck from this bull market. I don't wait much for old fork coins as this year looks like to be a year for DeFi tokens and farming.
3155  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum & Bitcoin on: March 13, 2021, 11:55:39 PM
Just wondering what people think about the current price of Ethereum and Bitcoin? I wanted to buy some more of each but obviously the price is quite high - record highs in fact! Are we expecting for another dip i.e a better time to invest or will it keep rising?
Price will have dip but when and from which top?

If you believe in the future of Bitcoin or Ethereum, it means you believe BTC or ETH will have higher price, why do you not invest now? Hesitate too much, ask a lot of questions, where and when, you will end with only observe the market. Observe rise, dips and miss all opportunities from the market.

Bitcoin is rising again and it won't stop if it won't rise more than 15% and you can not wait for any dip from BTC if it won't rise more than 15% from $59k.
3156  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best stable coin when selling crypto? on: March 13, 2021, 11:45:14 PM
I usually used USDT. As most of the people said here, it’s available in ERC20 and TRC20. It’s already become a standard of most exchange market. Some exchange also used USDT BEP20, and currently this type of USDT token offers the cheapest fee for a transaction, $0.1.

If you used more than 1 exchange, make sure both of them accept the same type of USDT.
For example, I used Binance and Coinex. Both of them accept USDT BEP20.
Meanwhile my local exchange only accept USDT ERC20 and TRC20.
Tether USD (USDT) is built on many chains and despite of the pegged value of $1 for 1 USDT, on each chain, you will have different transaction fees and transaction withdrawal fees on exhanges you are using.

I did not use OMNI layer and ERC-20 chains to withdraw my USDT for many months. TRON chain (TRC-20) is my favorite chain to use for USDT withdrawal. In their recent shill effort for Binance Smart Chain, Binance upgrade their withdrawal fee for USDT on TRC-20 but still give cheaper withdrawal fee on BSC. $1 for TRC-20 and $0.8 for BSC.

3157  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best stable coin when selling crypto? on: March 13, 2021, 11:00:52 AM
More stable coins are created and available. More amount of stable coins have been minting. The top 4 biggest stable coins are: Tether USD (USDT), USD Coin (USDC), Binance USD (BUSD) and Dai (DAI). BUSD and DAI have good growths and with Binance behind, DeFi behind, I believe they will be more accepted.

3159  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best stable coin when selling crypto? on: March 13, 2021, 07:49:18 AM
USDT or BUSD? I never really sold and withdrew any crypto before. Just wondering what most people do on here when selling and tranfering to their bank accounts.
USDT is the biggest stable coin and it is the most popular stable coin for trading pairs on many exchanges. USDT has biggest trading volume and you will be most easily to sell your crypto to USDT.

Other stable coins have smaller volume and you might face with bigger spread of price when you sell your crypto. If you want to choose alternatives for USDT, you can considert DAI, not only BUSD. DAI is very common on DeFi platforms.

3160  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which cryptocurrencies will be around in 10 years and why? on: March 12, 2021, 10:33:37 AM
Litecoin, Bitcoin, and possibly xrp.
Bitcoin will be around forever, as it is launched by an anonymous person. No one can shut down Bitcoin.

Litecoin has a long time in crypto and it might be around next 10 years.

Ripple, I don't know if US governments and other governments want to make more serious law suits against Ripple.

Quote
Litecoin is much faster, cheaper to send, way undervalued, and will become scarce as institutions buy it up.
Litecoin with its Lightning network is fast and cheap for transactions. Its network is big enough and expensive enough to prevent attacks.

Quote
Bitcoin, due to being the first one and recognizable, being used as a store of value as insecurity with fiat increases, etc.
Bitcoin is the best to make big transactions. With small transactions, you can consider Lightning network that is not common now but in the future, things might be changed.

Quote
XRP because if it is adopted by banks, despite having billions of coins, could become a mainstream tool for banks, etc.
Forget it, please. I use Ripple for my transactions frankly but please forget and ignore any promise that it will be adopted by banks or becomes a mainstream of bank transfers. Please.
