bye bye Adam  Wink

i have to admit the situation looks dismal... bid walls coming up, ask walls slowly getting eaten away.

But

I will not give in
I will not buy back in a panic
I will not get GOXED or ZooZooThonged
I will not let you win!
I WILL GET CHEAP COINS
I WILL .... go to sleep  Cheesy

See you guys in 6 to 8 hours

Oh no.  You can say you go to sleep in the Bitcoin World but you never really do.  Cheesy
too true. I have this script that makes a noise every time a buy or sell happens and I'm laying in bed, but I can't resist the urge to look at my monitor to check what happened each trade lol. I'm a huge fan of sleep too.

I have created a crowd-funding project for this at PMF that anyone can donate to

http://www.piratemyfilm.com/projects/378

using one BitPay merchant to help another!

To participate, you can reserve (pledge) shares.  All donations will be collected once the goal is reached.
i just bought 10 shares Smiley

Little update - http://btccharts.com/beta

Changes:
 - new UI (more "finger friendly")
 - some stability improvements (not sure this one)
 - 2 new drag areas: volume log scale,  sales time range
 - only black theme (too much trouble with two)
 - time labels
 - two new exchanges: BitCurex, BitFloor
 - improved quality setting with auto adjustment at the first time

This is much more usable on android devices.
well done. i like it. it would be nice to be able to make the settings bars at the top and bottom go away. no big deal though

And despite the advice of several forum posters, you're still talking here... You really aren't doing yourself a favor with comments like these. Frankly I've got nothing invested in this but my opinion of you lowers every time you open your mouth. Take some friendly advice and stop talking. You're in deep here and you need to lawyer up and stfu.

zhou, i personally believe you are innocent. You really need to "lawyer up and STFU"
If Zhou was innocent, he certainly would "lawyer up and STFU", but he is not.
I don't understand what you're basing the assumption of  "he would only need a lawyer if he was innocent"  of off.  You would still want to lawyer up and STFU if you're guilty.
3150  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Statement about the suspect of recent Bitcoinica hack on: July 29, 2012, 09:15:47 AM
Deals confirmed by extremely reliable 3rd parties with access to Bitcoinica's actual financial status?
I'm not sure what you mean by "confirmed". The offers were made and I know of no reason those deals would not have worked out. It is possible that Bitcoinica's actual financial status was nothing like it was believed to be, in which case the deals would likely not have worked out. That would require everyone at Bitcoinica to have been lying, which though possible, doesn't seem particularly likely to me.

This assumes that Zhou is more concerned about possible criminal charges or the like than he is concerned about his reputation in the industry. I think he's more concerned about the latter, and that's part of the reason I also think the Bitcoinica situation is more or less as reported. Everyone involved intends to have a future once they get past this mess.

reputation and criminal charges go hand in hand. There are plenty of ways to "prove" and innocent person is guilty, especially if he talks a lot.
Getting a lawyer would help you with both criminal charges and reputation when all is said and done.
there is a common misconception that only guilty people need lawyers. I would go as far to say that innocent people need lawyers even more, especially in a situation this complex.

For me it seems like CM a couple seconds ahead as far as the "real time charting" goes.  I don't know the technical details about that, but it would be nice if you could reduce that delay somehow.
CM is using socket connection from mtgox. I don't use it because it is loosing connection when you really want it and very often miss some data (orderbook is getting very messy). No way I will be back to this (as long it's over socket.io).
So what are you currently using? Don't bother explaining if its too technical, I'm no techie.

It's my personal freedom to create an account with reused password right? And did I harm anyone?

Chen Jianhai could simply register another email and steal all the money. And we wouldn't proceed with investigation like today. Thank god he used my account and left all the evidence there, otherwise Bitcoinica users will never see the money again!

awesome, thank a lot. Just after posting that I realized that Clark had responded to my suggestion on his thread. I suggested this same thing to Clark a while ago. it was stupid of me to post this suggestion before i checked his thread.
I really don't see any problem here Wink

I don't want to seem rude, but I prefer Clark moody because you can see the order book in actual numbers without having to mouse over anything. Although, I can see why many prefer your site, maybe because they are more of a visual learner. Also, the side-bar feature is an advantage that you have over Clark moody. Anyways, I think its a good suggestion and I'm sure a lot of people would love the new feature.
I have a "policy" to show everything in some kind of visual form. But ok, some day you will see orderbook in numbers (for me it's just blur of information, but I've abandoned trading a while ago so I can be a little out of perspective Wink ).
I meant I was rude to Clark to go and suggest this to a "competitor" (I know nothing about your relationship) without checking his thread first. Also, pointing out advantages/disadvantages might come off as rude to you. Don't get me wrong, I'm not suggesting you switch to the numbers style depth chart. It's my personal preference and I'm sure more people prefer the visual style that you're currently using. Although having the option to switch back and forth would be cool. Currently, I use both of your sites because they each have their own advantages. For me it seems like CM a couple seconds ahead as far as the "real time charting" goes.  I don't know the technical details about that, but it would be nice if you could reduce that delay somehow. Again, these are just suggestions that I think your users would love to see implemented.

I've changed counter from cookie id based to IP based, because there was some unknown issues for this solution.
This will count connections from multiple clients behind the same LAN network as one, but should be a lot more accurate anyway.

Also I've implemented anti crash system for exchanges services, so there's good chance issues like couple hours ago will not take place in the future.
do you have any plans to implement sounds into btccharts.com?  For example play a sound when a sell happens and different sound for a buy, and even better a separate sound for high volume or (as defined by the user) sell/buy, and an option to ignore trades under a certain volume threshold as defined by user. ofc you would have the option to mute it, or better yet, change the volume.  This would really help me a lot because I wouldn't have to watch my screen or even have the tab open to hear a rally/crash going on. I could be doing something else and I would hear it, rather than having to open the tab to check.
This feature is in my plans, but first I must finish what actually I'm working on. Lets say you can expect sounds in max 2 months.

Also, I like the fact that clark moody shows up to 0.00000 decimal points on the price because that is what mtgox goes by and you can tell when someone is just over/undercutting. Although, I can see why many prefer your site, maybe because they are more of a visual learner. Also, the side-bar and the ghost line features are an advantage that you have over Clark Moody. Anyways, I think its a good suggestion and I'm sure a lot of people would love the new feature.

@clark   i think it would be a lot better if you changed the uptick/downtick to be buy/sell instead.   Idk how hard this would be, but that's the only advantage that btccharts has over clark moody. If you changed this i would never have to go to btcharts to check if something was a buy or a sell. also, the .01 bots make the uptick/downtick method really misleading.

In my upcoming trading platform, this is how it works. I will change the current site over when I add the sounds.

awesome, this sounds great!

You are giving out wayyyy too much information.

zhou, you should find a lawyer and stop talking. even if you're innocent (which i'm assuming you are), its ALWAYS best to say nothing and let your lawyer(s) speak on your behalf.

People who talk a lot are more likely to convicted of crimes they didn't commit because most of what you say can be misinterpreted and used against you in court.

There is ABSOLUTELY 0 benefit of giving out any information whether you are guilty or not. Any lawyer in his right mind would tell you to stop talking and let him handle it.

Please trust me on this. Even if everything you are saying is 100% truth, there are so many ways to turn it against you to make you look guilty. I know you want to keep Bitcoinica customers informed, but a lawyer is going to help you AND the Bitcoinica customers reach a more fair agreement than you could do without a lawyer.

Inform the police ASAP because its always best to be the first one to report something to law enforcement. If you don't do it, someone else will.

Just keep in mind: you WILL end up going to court over this case as a witness, defendant, or whatever.

Since this is such a complicated situation involving some serious crimes, GET A LAWYER ASAP. TRUST ME THEY ARE WORTH IT.

You're still young, and I think you are super-intelligent and you have a really bright future. Just play this safe, go to the police and get a lawyer, and you will have nothing it worry about if you're innocent.

Please don't ego trip and convince yourself that you could do better than a lawyer. plz trust me, lawyers are necessary no matter how smart or innocent you are.

Good luck, I hope you take my advice and get through this.

And ill say it 1 more time. GET A LAWYER!!! Tongue

14.0.1  OSX

Hmm, well it works on FF 14.0.1 on Windows 7.

I have no access to OSX computer though. It's very odd that this should break.
Even odder... it works in chrome.... doing some more research.

EDIT: It is most certainly something to do with greasemonkey so don't waste any time tracking this down Clark.  I am not sure why, but with GM enabled (but any userscripts disabled) is when this problem happens.

@kentrolla if you disable GM (make sure the check next to Enabled in the GM menu is unchecked) then the new (blue) orders will disappear.

It is very strange this is happening at all.  GM must be re-writing some events that are messing with the timers.
oh ok. thats strange. damn, i loved your script tho.  I know i still owe you some bitcoins, i will have them soon.

Wow it is different

most notably: it's much faster.
most notably: more secure
imo

is your opinion based on hearsay or some facts? How is it more secure?
from the OP "We have been working tirelessly to deploy many "behind the scenes" upgrades over the past few months that have vastly improved our security, flexibility and availability."

So hearsay it is Wink.
i guess, those words are straight from DPR himself though. He constantly has people doing pentests and security isn't something that you can't upgrade. You have to be constantly looking for vulnerabilities and fix them. what i gathered from the forums from trusted members is that his pentesters found a lot of vulnerabilities that were fixed in this upgrade. That is why they couldn't say anything about when it was going to go down and couldn't post why SR went down for 10 hours. After they fixed the vulnerabilities then they announced the remake. This all seems pretty plausible to me. I can't see why anyone would think they would lie about upgrading security, because upgrading security is a standard thing that websites must do regularly (even .onion sites).

I guess its fair to call it hearsay, because they aren't going to release any proof of what was fixed for security reasons obviously.
