3141  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: MaryJanecoin LLC Digitally made for the Cannabis Industry and Community on: July 31, 2015, 02:43:14 AM
It's gettign obvious that Adam himself alone can't do enough for the whole community. Someone needs to start doing something directly to and for the coin itself.

Adam seems like a marketing guy, promoting his products etc, but we need to see more great and fresh news about the coins future.

Anyone tried contacting him for the Android Wallet programming help perhaps ?

I was making a ton of progress, then someone scammed me and made lots of promises then never came through then Adam automatically assumed I was trying to scam him and without even saying anything to me he posted to this forum saying I was a scammer. Why would I try to scam someone on the same team? I put so many hours into this coin I couldn't believe what I read.

Alot of people in the community have sent me PM asking me to come back, and I would, seeing as how the coin is officially tanking, but there needs to be a little more professionalism if I do. Many of the major bagholders can vouch for me and my integrity.

Also I have a dispensary in Orange County , California who is interested in accepting MaryJ. I will drive out and get then set up if Adam wants to reconcile

I hope you and Adam can reconcile. The coin started losing value after you left/were asked to leave. It was obvious the coin needs you.

ViK still supports scrypt.cc guess he realizes if he adds it to The Badlist any credibility he still has would be lost (not that he has much left)

3143  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Top Cloud Miners Compared by Profitability on: July 30, 2015, 03:08:23 PM
As a day trader I take a different approach to buying at Hashnest. I am not concerned with ROI but only yield/day and price trend. I only hold open positions for one day usually. If you go into your account and check one day chart history for the contracts only UMISOO and S3 are trending up. Don't bother with S2 as volume is too low and market is not liquid. I would not buy S5 as price is in a downtrend.

Both UMISOO and S3 price are in good uptrends. They also offer the highest return per day for mining if you have a position open. When I place an order I try to buy at 1% less than the last price, when filled I place a sell order at fill plus 2%. I can usually get a 2% return per day. Some days I may settle for 1% depending on price action. 1% per day is still 30% per month without the risk of buy and hold.

Trezor is the most positively-accepted hardware wallet as of this moment. There are so many positive reviews about it, not to mention that it helps you to easily manage your private keys. If you have a spare $119 for this kind of thing, then go for this baby.

Also, be reminded that a paper wallet is still a great bet when using for an offline/cold storage. Just make sure that you know where you hide it and only you will know the location of where you have hidden it.

I'am not afraid about the place where to hide a paper wallet to be honest , I can put it on the middle of the street and no one is going to touch it because they will think it's trash , 99% of my country don't even know what bitcoin is which is good to me if I use paper wallets  Roll Eyes

Then go and use that method if you think it is safe! Cheesy Too bad, bitcoin awareness isn't that evident yet in your country. Btw, from what country are you from?

Case looked to have a camera.  That is pretty nice scan a QR code of an android.  I give it a serious pro on having camera.  But not sure it's 100 dollar advantage over trezor.

I look foward to a review.  Does case work over wifi?   They did not show it being connected via usb when sending.

Does trezor also have a built-in camera to scan qr codes? The Case wallet is cool with that feature, but for 200 bucks, I'm not sure if that is really the "bang for the buck" hardware wallet nowadays.

Trezor is a hardware device that holds your bitcoin private keys and signs transactions made using an online wallet or Mycelium wallet on your smartphone. You would use the camera on your phone to scan QR codes with the Mycelium wallet. Trezor just holds the private keys and makes it impossible for anyone to steal bitcoin from your phone.

What wallet do you think it's the best on the hardwallets ,i found Case wallet the best personally even if Ididn't use it or Pre-ordered it yet but from what I saw and read it looks the website https://choosecase.com/
Case Is An Insanely Secure Hardware Bitcoin Wallet

Case is not shipping yet, accepting pre-orders and expects to ship late summer. If your budget is under $50 Ledger Nano is your best choice. If you can afford $119 Trezor is the current gold standard. If you have the Mycelium wallet on your Android phone you can connect Trezor to the phone and use it to manage your private keys. This is currently the safest way to use your phone for sending bitcoin. I have reviews of all the bitcoin hardware wallets at best bitcoin hardware wallet 2015.

I had not seen the case wallet before.  Wow does it look pretty nice of features.  But man 200 for it, seems like quite the markup.

The way I see it is if I can go to Walmart and get a android phone for 20-30 dollars (cheap phones), a companny should be able to do some smart item for double that easy.

I wish case was around 100 dollars for it.  At that price I would jump on it.  But 200 not sure I want it bad enough.

I have a Case on order and will publish a full review when it comes in. Right now I see no major advantage to the Case over using the combination of Mycelium on your phone plus Trezor. I think the Mycelium + Trezor would actually be more secure than the Case since you have full control of your private keys. Let's kick the tires when the Case comes in I will give it a thorough test.

No wifi needed. Case works over the mobile phone network with 183 mobile carriers in 109 countries. It has a built in GSM chip and there are no monthly fees. Case comes with free global Internet access for the life of the device so I think they priced it high enough they can absorb carrier fees.

UMISOO contracts are the most profitable to own right now if you just want passive income at Hashnest. There is also good money to be made day trading UMISOO contracts. If you have a contract open at 0400 GMT you also get the bonus of a day's mining income, since UMISOO is PPS and pays out once per day.

At the website Coinomat.com has announced availability of a bitcoin funded debit card. Can you list the countries you will not ship to and let us know which bank is issuing the card please?
It's for all countries except USA now. UK bank.

Thanks! I just added the Coinomat card to your bitcoin debit card options.

Hi

Im new with hashnest, can i ask which is the best hash to invest in? S5?

Each one has positives and negatives depending on what your looking for.  Do some research on the various hash options and form a conclusion based on your investment style.

Spend some time at Bitmain Talk looking through the recent threads for tips on how to squeeze the most profit from Hashnest. If you take a look at the daily charts available in your account you will notice that UMISOO and S4 are increasing in price. This means that you can buy some hash and then turn around and place a sell order at your buy price plus one day's mining profits minus maintenance. In an uptrend you can sometimes do this twice a day, giving yourself twice the yield of buy and hold. The higher bitcoin price goes the more profitable UMISOO becomes. Some of the posters at Bitmain Talk have noted that the market is more efficient than it was just a week ago but UMISOO is still the contract to buy short term at the moment IMO.

Right now UMISOO has the highest yield. S5 and UMISOO are the most liquid contracts with highest trading volume.

What would you say to people who live in North Carolina and New York who might have there isp block by the government because of the laws. I don't know what restriction are for them yet I want to think if I live in that state can I still store them and trade online indstead of mine.

Which one of the options still work, computer wallet, paper, trezor, etc.

Coinbase supports customers both in New York and North Carolina see https://support.coinbase.com/customer/portal/articles/1826671-what-countries-us-states-are-supported-for-coinbase-exchange-

What ISP block are you referring to? All options are available to bitcoin users in those states.

Dropping the banking interest rate from 8% to 6% was unfortunate. I hope you reconsider and bring back the 8% rate. At only 6% return I think you will see bitcoin moving from HaoBTC to Hashnest PACMiC v2.

Best hardware wallet should be Trezor, you can find it here: https://www.bitcointrezor.com/
Paper wallets are not as safe as you think, just do a small research and you will know Smiley

How aren't they as safe as you think? They are as safe as it gets IMO. Paper will never deteriorate if you cover it with plastic, and even if the wallet is found a password still needed, so I dont see the problem.

Paper as a paper can be safe, but you have to trust the thing that generated you the paper wallet you have and if it wasn't compromised right after the generation was done.

So what about offline use of bitaddress.org?  That should be 'safe' considering that the code have been verified independently.

paper wallet remain unsafe if you use a printer that have a cache and can memorize data, why people can't simply use a usb and a wallet.dat inside it, it's much simple and has the same security, you only need to do it on a secure machine, you can do a secure erase ato resolve this problem

Very true.  I like to use bitcoin core

I have had the official Bitcoin Core client hacked by a trojan accidentally downloaded. Password does not protect your private keys. That is why getting your private keys offline or at least secured in a hardware wallet like Trezor is good policy.

well that's your fault man, it is obvious that if you "give an easy access to your pc to an hacker" you're only asking for trouble

next time don't download anything that has not a digital sign, same goes for any link, problem is solved, i'm follow this simple rule and i never lost any coins on my hot wallet which is almost, always online

Can't say you were not warned. Anyone who leaves their wallet.dat on an online computer is liable to be hacked, just a matter of time. Does not matter how careful you are, we all make slips. The point is how easy it is now to prevent such loss using a bitcoin hardware wallet to store your private keys offline. Anyone can afford a Ledger Nano. My loss happened before I learned the value of cold storage and hope others take that point to heart. Prefer to use a smartphone? Trezor works a treat with the Mycelium wallet on Android.

Best wallet for cold storage is a properly done paper wallet.  You simply cannot beat it.  Paper does not link to the internet Smiley

Yes you have to be careful when making it, and also store it in safe place.  But paper wallets are very strong in my mind.

Paper wallets are not convenient to use on a day to day basis and really provide no more protection for your private keys than Trezor.

Hi,
I'm going to save some Bitcoins for the future. Which is the safest way to store them?
I was thinking about a wallet on a usb flash drive. Which wallet should I choose?

Thank you

For security you need cold storage for your private keys. This used to be a pain as only two wallets (Armory and Electrum) supported cold storage and two separate computers were needed.

With the introduction of bitcoin hardware wallets cold storage is much more convenient. For reviews of all the available and coming soon bitcoin hardware wallets see my article on a complete guide to bitcoin hardware wallets.
3159  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Top Cloud Miners Compared by Profitability on: July 23, 2015, 04:28:40 PM
Hashnest used to be an inefficient market with different profitability among the mining contracts offered. That is no longer the case. See https://forum.bitmain.com/bbs/topics/1918 for details.

Since there is no longer an advantage to a particular contract it would make sense to buy the contract that is most liquid which is S5. However, there is an interesting glitch that may make UMISOO a hedge against bad pool luck explained at https://forum.bitmain.com/bbs/topics/1929

We will be working on a trading stategy for Hashnest based on momentum and will publish details once underway. At the moment we have our investment at Hashnest divided between UMISOO and S5.

We were not happy with the returns on our PACMiCv1 contract see our blog article how to profit with Bitmain Hashnest for details.

Just for grins we noticed ZeusHash VGHSv1 is back in stock and bought some today will report yield in 30 days. Not really expecting much but we like to try out the options to give our readers the real skinny.

I see that all of Enthef420 posts promoting the site that delivered a trojan have been deleted, good, but someone who would willingly post malware should be banned IMO. I'm sure quite a few people are having to reformat and restore due to him.
