3141  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How Did China Dominate Bitcoin? on: November 05, 2019, 10:43:48 PM
The Bitcoin whitepaper was released in English, how did the Chinese get sointerested ahead of others that they dominate mining of bitcoin?
Lol... this guy is very funny, actually.
The Chinese people are business savvy more than any people in the world.
Also, in China they have very cheap electricity that why the majority of bitcoin miners are from China.
It's funny that most Chinese don't speak English but there's a big difference between an average construction worker and a university student.

Mining was dominated by the Chinese for 2 main reasons.

1 They had easy access to chip manufacturers. Most of the electronics we see in stores is made in China so they could design and produce everything on site.
2 Cheap power.
The Chinese are smart people and know how to make money. Asians have the highest average IQ of all races. Add points 1 and 2 to the mix and you get your answer.
3142  Economy / Reputation / Re: Family of 4 : Needs Investigation on: November 05, 2019, 10:29:29 PM
There's one thing that I see here. Look at post history of these accounts from the last weeks. They are all 1 liners. The whole family used to post mostly 1 liners in russian and from time to time one liners in english but when they got spotted suddenly one of them begun to write long explanations and stories how they are a family with quotes and all that.

Why isn't the rest of the family trying to explain themselves? Did they all sent olesya here as their spokesperson?
3143  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is it WORTH investing ALTS RIGHT NOW? on: November 04, 2019, 11:05:39 PM
Not worth it unless you want to gamble. Bitcoin is much safer and will pump anyway the closer it gets to May and halving. It can drop a bit and pump after the halving but if you invest you have like 90% to profit sooner or later.

Altcoins follow Bitcoin and they will pump with it but there can be a turn around and when Bitcoin pumps people will exit altcoins to join the rally creating an even bigger altcoin squeeze than we're already seeing. Going altcoins now is gambling not investing.
3144  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: could it be most project don't succeed? on: November 04, 2019, 10:57:42 PM
Most scam projects are not scams from the start. Their teams usually begin with a normal idea and invest some money into it but later decide to take the fast lane and exit scam. There are many different reasons behind their decisions.

Some are bored with the project some get so many clients early on and such a big amount of cash that they want it here and now and scam to be able to spend all that profit.
3145  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Fundstrat’s Tom Lee: 99% of USD is Speculative, Why Discredit Bitcoin? on: November 03, 2019, 11:01:07 PM
Tom Lee also disagreed when people said that Bitcoin would fall below 10 thousand dollars in 2018 Cheesy

*holding* USD (or any currency) is speculation, never mind if you speculate on something different by borrowing USD

a safe bet is still a bet

Every move you make with your money is speculative because there's a degree of risk.

You buy a car it could break, burn, get stolen. You buy a house it could get flooded, burn, get burglarized or vandalized. You put money in a bank it could go bankrupt or freeze your money and say they suspect illegal activity or whatever.

The only safe thing you can do with your money is spend it on yourself.
3146  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Another day, another Faketoshi on: November 03, 2019, 10:53:11 PM
Apparently that Jorg Molt just called out as a scammer at World Crypto Coin by a Youtuber the name of Kenneth Bosak and Jorg Molt reaction to him was precious, Jorg Molt apparently will get busted being a scammer by Kenn Bosak that time Molt just made a total embarrassment of himself by doing something like that, getting angry is a state of revealing himself that he is a total jerk, I think if he's only telling the truth he would confront Kenneth Bosak with calmness and explain his side to him, But I think Jorg Molt did a dick move here, And here is the video of Jorg Molt the scammer.

https://twitter.com/i/status/1190065532021534720

I saw that a few days ago. That scammer couldn't even take it like a man he was just standing there smiling and then when Kenneth turned around he blindsided him and threw his hat of his head.

You can see this Jorg knows he's a scammer by that fake smile of his. Fuck him!

Somebody should put him and Craig on stage. Two stuck up cocky buffoons would tear each other to pieces and the world would instantly become a better place.
3147  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What are your most common superstitions? on: November 03, 2019, 10:42:18 PM
I'm not superstitious at all and never have been. There's so many superstitious things my parents and grandparents used to do like they would say that a black cat crossing the road is bad luck or that you shouldn't talk about bad things that could happen to you or someone else because these things tend to come true.

Probably the only thing that I do could be called superstitious in gambling is blowing on dice. I picked it up as a child and used to do it whenever I played board games and it stuck with me. Now I still do it but it's more of a habit than a superstition.
3148  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to earn merit as a Newbie? on: November 03, 2019, 10:19:55 PM
The shortest and most meaningful answer I can give you is follow the rules and eventually you will get merit. Don't post to earn merit and don't focus on it. Post like you would post on any other forum but be respectful to other posters and refrain from posting when you don't have much to say.

Those who try to get merit also get frustrated when they don't get it. You don't need merit to participate in discussions!
3149  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What's worse: cigar addiction or gambling addiction on: November 03, 2019, 08:37:43 PM
Smoking used to have some benefits. Smoking men used to look good, more manly. Smoking used to be seen as something that calms nerves and gives our hands something to do. Now you can see it's all a myth. Most people don't smoke and it's even rude to smoke at someone's house or at parties because other people might not like it. Smoking makes your walls look dirty and your car smell like a chimney. It has no benefits.

Gambling is addictive but at least you can win something and have some fun in the process.
3150  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A rising number of Americans own crypto and nearly 13 million women says study.. on: November 03, 2019, 08:21:30 PM
You should all think how many people who were asked to participate in the survey declined because they did not know what a cryptocurrency is. This would be my reaction if they asked me to participate in a survey. I'd say ok fine and they'd say it's about my opinion about chemo in treatment of children with melanoma. I'd be like  Shocked Huh no thank you I don't have an opinion really.

Those who participated know a lot about crypto. Those who did not declined to take the survey.
3151  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I Just Love the Game of a Totalitarian State on: November 03, 2019, 08:12:18 PM
No, smart people should move to Taiwan. Hong Kong doesn't have an American fleet cushioning an invasion, Hong Kong is already a lost cause.

Of course, Chinese people have been emigrating en mass for decades. Saw that container found full of (Chinese) dead people in UK? Just for how long do you think this has been going? Half a century or more... People are willing to risk it all to escape oppressive regimes, and they know many die to never achieve their dreams. Those that make it are often exploited to levels of slavery. They hope their sacrifice would somehow help their family back home, with money or escaping, rinse and repeat.

You're right about that. For me as a European who is far away from the problem Hong Kong looks like a safe place in the sea of terror but it might not remain like that for long because the situation between the US and China isn't good.

Emigration from China was indeed a big thing even in 2 centuries ago when they were emigrating to the USA and setting up famous chinatowns. They helped to build the transcontinental railroad, worked in mines and tunnels. They and the Irish were one of the nations that built the USA and did not profit from it.

3152  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What is the solution about CMC fake volume..? on: November 03, 2019, 07:57:44 PM
Exchanges can execute fake trades between its own addresses and boost volume this way. It doesn't cast them anything because they aren't paying trading fees for their own fake trades Wink

CMC is excluding exchanges who are proven to be faking volume. You can see some exchanges on CMC that are listed but there's no data next to them and those exchanges are not counted because they are faking. It's hard for CMC to prove anything to bigger exchanges that already have some high real volume so I don't think they will delist every single suspect. Probably 80% exchanges fake volume. Chinese exchanges were faking it in 2013 and 2014  Cheesy
3153  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: South Korea discuss the possibility to give crypto a legal status on: November 02, 2019, 10:57:44 PM
But don't you think this is a little bit unfair? They are producing fiat money and making sure it's hard to counterfeit and relatively stable so they make you pay taxes for transactions in fiat.

They don't make crypto and they don't help to make it secure. They also have nothing to do with how transactions in crypto are made but they still want a share of every transaction.

I'm ok with paying taxes when I convert to fiat. I'm not ok with paying taxes like people in the USA for holding or trading for other cryptocurrencies.

I'm curious how tax laws in Korea are going to be.

What do you mean by "taxes for transactions in fiat"? There are fees that are charged by banks for their services, governments don't have anything to do with it. If you talk about something like VAT, than it's a different story, but regardless whether it's fair or not, those taxes aren't just payments for using currency, they are used to fund all public stuff. So, if a country allows crypto as payment method, it would make sense that the same taxes would be applied to it.

Does this mean you think that things like capital gains tax that people in the US have to pay for holding Bitcoin is used to fund public stuff?

And how about war games and nuclear weapons research that is funded with your taxes? Is that fair?
Banks do not produce money! The government does and in my eyes it's fair they want taxes if we use their legal tender. If we don't it's a different story. The same taxes should not apply to crypto because crypto has no production and maintenance cost unlike fiat that you have to print, mint, and distribute.
3154  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Poker Masterclass / Guides / Learning on: November 02, 2019, 10:35:31 PM
If you want to sell these you should show us what you got there so that we know what we're paying for. People will not pay you if they don't know what to expect. You'd have to show a sample material or give some of it for free to a trusted member of this forum and let them review it.

How much are you selling it for? Are those videos or text files? How many hours/pages of those tips and lessons you got? The more you share the greater your chances of selling something.
3155  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Worst Day of My LIFE - Dice on: November 02, 2019, 10:07:50 PM
It happens. I didn't do anything like this but I know how it feels to be at a loss. The worst thing you can do is try to borrow money again to get your first loss back through gambling. The best thing you can do is work honestly and pay back what you owe to your friend. You can't take back time but you can keep the relations with your friend and be a good person.

You have learned a lesson and these are usually not free so don't beat yourself over it.
3156  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why are you involved with Crypto? on: November 02, 2019, 09:48:30 PM
I'm involved because it pays off. I started trading then when I earned enough I turn my focus to holding bitcoin and trading altcoins. Now I'm mostly holding and adding whatever I can earn with my signature campaign to the pool.

It's mostly about money because I wouldn't be able to earn in a normal job as much as I did by holding and trading in the 2016 bear market.

I like everything about being my own bank and I'm afraid of losing everything because of some mistake of my government. I prefer to be tied to the global economy than to my local.

It'll make Bitcoin more accessible to more people

Please explain how bitcoin is not accessible to people. I always find it hard to understand this argument and I see it appear from time to time in discussions as people say bitcoin is too expensive for an average person. Is that how you see this?

Cheaper Bitcoin doesn't mean more accessible bitcoin and you can see it by looking at altcoins. The coin costs $1 per coin doesn't become more popular and widely used than a coin that costs $100.

Do you want to introduce inflation to Bitcoin to make holders share? Are you a socialist?
3158  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: WHAT DOES A TRADER NEED? on: November 02, 2019, 09:15:37 PM
I would say that the only things that a trader needs are technical analysis, risk management and a rested, clear, emotionless mind so he can take the right decisions based on his edge.

How about coffee? A lot of it. Or if you don't like it you can choose coke or pills. Most pro traders are users addicted to whatever they can find starting from caffeine and and ending with hard drugs.

Of course that in order to place trades he's gonna need a broker(trading platform) and a charting platform like TradingView. Old professional traders usually use their own purchased software or the classical MetaTrader, but personally I think TV has a much better and easy to use interface than any other charting software out there.

And money, don't forget about money. Without money to trade with a trader is as good as a car without fuel.
3159  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: 3 things should not be too in trading on: November 02, 2019, 08:48:06 PM

Chatbox is home of trolls, I never use that in Trading, unless I'm on the mood to troll someone too (lol) or when I am having my pastime. Group signals is helpful when you know how to nurture it, how to derive the equations that's been given by professionals, and if you basically doesn't do anything as a Trader, you know, you are being a baby that is always being spoonfeed by others, then don't expect something great.

Especially the one on Yobit. There was a better one on BTCe but that's long gone.

It's a simple truth in trading that poor people read all the guides and analysis they can get and they are still manipulated and barely earn anything. Rich guys don't need to read TA all they need is visible on the chart as they go and the big supply of money they have does the rest.
3160  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: South Korea discuss the possibility to give crypto a legal status on: November 02, 2019, 12:41:23 AM
No government can simply pass by some economic activity and do nothing - they either ban it or regulate it and make people pay taxes. You can try arguing for lower taxes or more relaxed regulations, but there's no way you can convince government to leave crypto away. If you're so worried about taxes, try finding some legal loopholes - maybe you won't have to pay taxes if you use crypto as currency, so you can hodl and spend it instead of selling on exchanges.
