Why affiliates...; I also want to know it properly. The affiliate will get huge amount of satoshi as commission from their referrals. And they will get more prizes for this. I think this is not fair. Make rich person more Rich. Why?

As I just explained.

The idea is to incentivise people to advertise their referral links where people that use traditional gambling sites will see them.

If you know about Bitcoin then you most likely already have an account with us. We're looking to get it out to a wider audience.

The idea of running a promotion is to benefit the site in the long run and bringing in more gamblers will do that.

And the first five rewards are bigger. It will better to make the reward prizes smaller and distribute it with more players. 30,000$ is a huge giveaway. Distributing reward with more player will attract all user's to play because there will be a lot of prize pool for them to get.

I don't think there is any value of our words. Because we are just small user of your (wetsuit) site.
This will be pleasure if You(TheQuin) ask wetsuit to make some changes.

The wagering contest was my idea after wetsuit asked my opinion on a referral income based competition. wetsuit designed the payout structure, each reward level is halved, the same as the lottery payout structure. Having a very large first prize is a pretty standard marketing strategy because it works. Adding the referral wagering element was also wetsuits idea. I've been discussing these ideas with him for a while now and I feel he is settled on the format.

Nice list! This is a trip down the memory lane for me.
wait, are you still active?

I think his account has been hacked again. It was actively trolling a year or so back. No way the posts could  seriously be mistaken for actually being him.

Here's an example of a very serious looking loan request.

what if the account 00000000

You could always try the deposit button. I'm told that often helps.
3164  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: FreeBitco.in - Win free Bitcoins every hour! on: June 25, 2018, 01:23:21 PM
why so I have already earned it

Playing a free-roll is not a job, so no, you didn't earn it. We gave you a free game, that is what happened. We'll give you another one an hour later as well. Those that play the paid for games as well get bigger rewards.
3165  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: FreeBitco.in - Win free Bitcoins every hour! on: June 25, 2018, 12:55:52 PM
Keep making rewards smaller for free users and now new promos for big spenders. Looks like you wanna run a casino which is fine but do you pay taxes on your profit by any chance. That is more provocative question i know the answer to.

When we first launched we were a faucet funded by advertising which had a 0% house edge dice game to keep people on the site between free rolls.
We changed into a casino over time.
I think the question should be where do we pay taxes?

Anyway about competition. Few observations:
1. Why affiliates get half rewards lol they will get shitload of satoshies anyway. I dont get that for site that lately keep on reducing rewards so they are staying profitable to give where is no need.
2. The way rewards are distributed is better you just pay top5 cause last few spots rewards are joke compared.

The idea is to incentivise people to advertise their referral links where people that use traditional gambling sites will see them.

If you know about Bitcoin then you most likely already have an account with us. We're looking to get it out to a wider audience.

Good luck with promo(meaning i hope it doesnt backfire and we(everyone that doesnt gamble as much as you see fit) get even lower rewards)!

I hope so as well as I came up with some of the ideas.

The reduced rewards are about disincentivising botnets. They have running costs and if we make the rewards too high then we lose a lot to them. Their costs have been coming down so we have to react in this way.

3168  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The truth about bitcoin on: June 25, 2018, 12:33:04 PM
Maybe I used bad English, bitcoin hasnt promised. Bitcoin IS a promise. A promise, that blockchain technology can be used for creating cryptocurrency. There problem lays here:

Bitcoin isn't a promise. I'm not sure if it is a language barrier or whether you just don't get that it is an open source project. It is the will of the people that use it, not a 'they' or a promise.

while Im bad in English, my math is very good. Producing coins like this with the reasoning of creating independent anonymous, yet traceble currency, is not reasonable. If I have time tomorrow, I may give it a try and calculate for You, what is REAL production cost, that is made for producing one coin.

It has no relevance to anything. Calling 100,000,000 satoshis a coin is completely arbitrary. The cost of mining 1 satoshi is simply driven by the current market price of Bitcoin, not the other way around.

Why You send me links from nakamotoinstitute? I was very polite to pick 3rd party sources, why You answer me giving me proof of what You are saying, written other people, like You? Would be the same, if I sent You article from web page bitcoinisfraud.com instead of reuters. I know, what enthusiasts have to say.

Because that quote in the white paper is the most lucent description of what Bitcoin is about. It wasn't about those sites not being trustworthy. They report news, they are not the mouthpiece of the Bitcoin community.

And whats the point of Your last sentence? We have already electronic payment, based on strong cryptography, if needed almost anonymous too. And absece of third party? That wont be granted with bitcoin too. Or how else You would call blockchainers?

No, it means a third party like a bank that holds your money and has the power to confiscate it or reverse transactions. The blockchain is not a trusted 3rd party that can do that.

https://www.ccn.com/only-another-four-million-bitcoin-will-be-mined-heres-why/
https://www.reuters.com/article/us-markets-bitcoin-factbox/factbox-things-you-might-not-know-about-ballistic-bitcoin-idUSKBN1E12RE

Is CCN trustworthy enough? Reuters? or You know more, because You just are a believer?

Or You want to tell, that there is NO set limit of 21 million coins?

They don't speak for Bitcoin. You still have avoided answering my question as to who you think they are.

I will tell you that that limit *could* be changed. It's only part of the protocol and if a majority of the network wanted to it could be increased. I don't think that is likely to happen.

It is however completely ludicrous to say that "Bitcoin promised" anything.

You are also completely missing the point of what Bitcoin is about. It's not about 21 million coins it is about trust.

Quote
What is needed is an electronic payment system based on cryptographic proof instead of trust, allowing any two willing parties to transact directly with each other without the need for a trusted third party.

Sorry, can not answer You at the same rate. As a newbie, my post rate is limited.
"They" are those who decided, there can be 21 million coins. have You asked Youself, why so? Whats the logical/mathematical reason behind it?

I'll ask the same question as stompix.

Care to link us to the post/article where this Bitcoin guy promised there will be no more than 21 million coins?
Also can you please show us some proofs that there are more than 21 million bitcoins?  Grin Grin Grin
What more promises has this Bitcoin made?

You have answered who 'they' are with another false assertion. You're a big fan of building straw men.

Bitcoin is an open source project and nothing is decided by 'they'.
3171  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The truth about bitcoin on: June 25, 2018, 11:23:33 AM
Thats not a correct statement. Bitcoin promised, there will be no more than 21 million coins. I suppose You do understand the meaning of this?

They also have made many promises on their product´s characteristics.

Who are 'they'? Bitcoin is not a group of people. Bitcoin cannot have made promises. I doubt you understand the meaning of this.
3172  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The truth about bitcoin on: June 25, 2018, 11:15:43 AM
If anyone claims, that money is good, easy, risk free and anyone can get their share of it, it is essentially a scam.
~
Bitcoin is not what promised and that fact is being disguised now.

Bitcoin never promised anything. What is the source of this false assertion? You seem to have made a straw man to attack.

50 merit requirement could be a great ceiling for a member rank. Just an opinion.

I think 10 is hard enough without discouraging genuine posters. The main problem I'm seeing lately is the Jr. Member copy paste spambots all signed up to signature bounty campaigns. Maybe a 1 or 2 Merit requirement for Jr. Member would be more useful.
3175  Other / Meta / Re: with bitcoin price collapsing why not start transform this forum? on: June 25, 2018, 09:21:13 AM
mutliple youtubers talked about that.

That's a highly convincing argument. /headdesk

You mean that you can rewrite the rules how POW or POS works using hour own words ?

If you can't and you have to refer to others work, then that would mean that you don't fully understand it yourself.

Spend something that you will not know the result?

I think that is pretty much the definition of gambling.  Wink

So block 529054 is mined at 16:59:59 UTC well after the ticket list was published at 15:49 UTC (and I didn't win yet again).

Congratulations to #9853506 on winning 2.56798446 BTC.
