The point is, who is your government? Outside of your parents when you are underage, God doesn't tell anybody who his government is... outside of God being the head of all government, that is. So, let's say that you have a government. How did that government get to be your government? Several possible ways: 1. It was your parents' government, and when you became an adult, you simply kept it as your government out of habit; 2. You selected it as your government for whatever reason. So, it was by agreement, even if that agreement was only with yourself; 3. You were forced by a government military to be part of a government... like a hostage situation, where your captors tell you to obey or die. There are possibly other ways that a government became your government. But in every case, it was by your own choice. In the extreme, you are always your own government, although God is first, above yourself. If you don't want a government to be your government (as in a hostage situation), your only other option might be to maintain God as your government, and yourself next in line, by dying at the hands of your captor. To see what I mean, read 4 Maccabees in the Apocrypha of the Bible. In all governing of yourself, you must live by your agreements if you are to be honorable, and live by God as your top government. The question I would ask is, if a man and a woman voluntarily get together and have children, how is it that the government can require the children to go to school where the teacher (from a different thread) might teach them all kinds of stuff that the parents don't agree with? Do you remember that old James Bond 007 movie, "Goldfinger," from the mid 1960s? Goldfinger was a bad guy who owned a bunch of gold. His idea was to set off a dirty nuke at Fort Knox, the US repository for its gold, so that the gold would become so radioactive that nobody could access it for 200 years. This would make the value of his gold soar. Storing the gold would have to follow these points: 1. Well enough away from where it could be nuked by the US, Russia, Canada or China. 2. But not hidden, so that everybody would know where their gold was being stored. 3. And accessible so that anybody could take ownership of his gold at almost any time by shipping it to him. 4. And what about if the country where the gold was stored decided to make gold ownership illegal, and confiscated it all? And that would only be starters. The price of security would eat away the value of the gold. Personally, I would be uncomfortable handling this kind of valuable property belonging to other people. |

Based on these advances, the narrative says that Russia is in retreat, Russian troops are demoralized, Putin is in jeopardy of being replaced and complete victory for Ukraine is just a matter of time.
The narrative is then used as a basis for increased financial aid from the United States (over $60 billion and growing) and increased weapons shipments from NATO members.

But as I've explained recently, the situation on the battlefield in Ukraine is almost completely at odds with the Western narrative.
It's true that Ukraine made recent advances in the east, but they were against lightly defended Russian positions on or near open terrain.
